I always loved that line from SATC where Richard is trying to get back with Samantha after cheating on her. She finally meets him for a drink, grabs her martini, throws it in his face, and says, ''Dirty martini, dirty bastard'' and walks out. Man, I love that show.

I love it too! My FI gave me the entire six-season set (in the pink velvet book!) for our two year anniversary. Samantha did a good thing by dumping him even after she''d given him a second chance...it wasn''t fair for her to have to worry all the time.

That one is SO sad. Though, the episode that always makes me cry is Charlotte's first wedding. Carrie tells Aiden she slept with Big, and after the wedding, he tells her he knows himself, and it's just something he can't get over. She's crushed, but she has to take pictures with her friends. She scoots in and they're all looking at eachother and smiling, and it ends with them all looking up at Charlotte with SUCH love....

Cue flood! I guess it not only gets me because she made a stupid mistake and ruined their relationship, but it also REALLY makes me miss my close girlfriends.

ETA: I'm sorry that happened Amber! He obviously wasn't your lobster...more like a crab. One of those infectious, need medication kind of crabs.

If any good came of it, it's that you were able to find your true lobster.

You are so right, Mara. That one breaks my heart, because I''m always like, but it''s AIDEN! He loves you! He bought you the perfect ring! And it makes me cry. My BF gets frustrated because I cry all the time with sad shows. He thinks I''m not going to "handle it" when our poor puppy passes on (in a hundred years). Why would he think I COULD handle it? Cold hearted man. Anyway, I dated a guy, and I was 9 years younger, and it killed me when he cheated on me with someone his own age!! I was like, what??? You''re supposed to go younger than me!

As for the IRAQ crab, he kept coming back when he got home. To tell me about his girlfriend. And what made it worse was that my dad totally loved him for fighting for our country (I did, too). And I just loved him so much I had to tell him not to come back anymore. He''s now engaged

That''s the one that makes me cry - the fountain scene where he says, "I can''t believe I''m back here again" and then fade to the 2 apartments. She says, "That was the ony night we ever spent on the other side of the wall. The next day, Aidan moved out." ARGH. I boycotted the show after that - I mean, what good''s a show about finding true love when you find the perfect guy and can''t commit? He was still my favorite character. I got over it though, and now own the big pink collection as well.

Sorry gals, but i'm not a big fan of Aiden. I love Mr. Big! It's funny because when I first watched SATC 6 yrs ago. I hated Big and I loved Aiden. The older I get, the more I think the Aiden character is bs. Guys like that does not exist in the real world! Carrie cheated on him big time! Getting back with her was just stupid! Didn't Carrie cheat on Big too? After that stuffy party they attended and she went home with her bartender friend? Carrie is one big cheater!=P

Ohhh, I think this more accurately describes my situation. I''ve never cheated on anyone, nor had anyone cheat on me. But when my BF and I started seeing eachother he was in a very long distance relationship. It was one of those young HS relationships and it was obviously stressed because they kept breaking up and getting back together. We didn''t officially start dating until he broke up with his ex-GF , before that we were just really good friends with occasional benefits.

It's like you find the perfect man who adores you, forgives you for past sins, buys you a frigging HW for gods sake and you are such a WHORE to him and you break his heart yet again. I loved Charlotte and Harry...the episodes where they were getting used to living together and he was walking around naked just CRACKED ME UP.

ETA: I loved Mr Big even though I always felt like he had major issues, in the end I'm glad they got together but I don't know if I believe it woulda happened in real life!

No, no no girls! I'm not hearing this!

Mr. Big was scum. He failed Carrie again and again, and she kept going back for more. Her ending up with him in the end was the BIGGEST disappointment. It screamed, "I only like to pretend I'm an independent, successful woman looking for the right man...but in actuality, I'm weak and extremely content with getting stomped on repeatedly!" I was SO mad at the writers for that BS ending. It set a terrible example.

I love Charlotte and Harry too! I couldn't stand that Trey McDoogle and that crazy Bunny!
Carrie had just as many issues as Big. If I were a guy I wouldn't want her as a gf honestly. she's HIGH maintenance!

Another funny thing is, when I was younger I loved Charlotte's Vera Wang dress for her first wedding and didn't like her second wedding dress at all. Now I LOVE the second dress and don't like the Vera one anymore. Funny how tastes change as you get older.

We should start a SATC thread - it's turning into one (and I could talk about it for YEARS).

The episode where she thinks "Everything before I love you doesn't count" - isn't that when she cheated on Aidan? He went to deliver some furniture, she ends up in bed with Big, and she feels awful, and then Aidan comes back and says "I love you" for the first time. She never cheated on Big.

Big was never my favorite character (esp. considering I loved Aidan) but I liked him WAY WAY WAY better than the Russian dude....who was totally inconsiderate of her needs and wants. I also didn't like Berger either (breakup on a post-it? He was too whiny and too freaked out that she was more successful than he was).

I love Harry and Charlotte - him leaving tea bags all over the house, her complaining to the gals that "we have a tea bag situation"....Samantha, "Oh honey, just breathe out your nose." I love Charlotte. She's my favorite.

I also love Anthony. "The theme for this wedding is yentil-chic." He cracks me up.

OMG Anthony was THE BEST ever...I loved him...

I have never cheated on my husband nor he on me. I cannot say, however, that I have not been at least tempted, cuz I have at least one time...but I was able to get a hold of myself and not act on it and it never happened again. Not that this qualifies or validates that one instance, but my husband and I were going through a really bad time and he was gone 3/4 of the month for two months when we moved into our home, which was brand new. The housing technician was over alot fixing this and that and he was divorced and a single dad so got talking and he called me once. I quickly put an end to it there and then...No more temptations since and that''s final...I am re-in love with my hubby!

O.k., I told this before and got a lot of upset replies. I met my husband in Greece. He was from Canada, me from the SF bay area. He came to see me back in the bay area, we got married after a few weeks on impulse. BUT, it turns out he had a GF in Toronto, and the night before our wedding he had to call her and break up with her because she was pestering his family about when was he going to come home?

His story was that he thought it was obvious from his leaving and going on this 3 month trip that he didn''t want to continue things, but I think he was too much of a coward to say the words and he hoped the problem would just go away while he was on his trip. Of course it backfired because he got caught in the crossfire between his GF in Toronto and the woman he was marrying the next day and it was a very unpleasant and uncomfortable situation for him . . .

So we married on impulse but we''re still married going on 13 years later.
