Went to try a tennis bracelet! 13 pointers with my station bracelet. I tried a 8 pointer and it looked too small so didn’t take a pic. I actually thought maybe bigger would be better? :eek2: Like how can I get DSS before I even buy??? Gosh…

Thank you!

After looking around a bit, I do think that the multi-shaped bracelet is a bit harder to come by but the tennis bracelet is so much more classic and wearable everyday.

How did you like the 3 prong?

hhhh

I still prefer a non-squarish 4 prong setting. Somehow the 3 prong looked triangular to me?

I know what you mean. There are some 4 prong settings where the diamonds are set a little farther apart, too.

I love the mixed shape. And I say that as someone with very classic (read: boring) taste.

With 49 votes, classic tennis has gone done slightly to 73.5% but still going strong.

@MillieLou classic is good! Timeless and I think I have quite classic tastes too (at least, I’ve always admired PS-ers with really classic collections)

==========
Both are on my “wish” list but I think the classic tennis bracelet comes first, given that it’s a “classic”. The multi-shapes is a nice fun bracelet to have to match with stones of different shapes that I hope to get eventually too. Also I already have a station bracelet that’s casual and easy to wear on weekends so I think maybe a tennis bracelet is the way to go for now. Thanks everyone for chiming in on this!

Let’s just say hypothetically you can buy one bracelet and you have a choice between a classic tennis bracelet like so:

Or a multi-shape diamond bracelet like so:

Which would you buy and why?

Appreciate your thoughts on the “better” buy, assuming same pricing and quality.

A multi-shape bracelet (without pears) would be ideal for me! I like things that are different and not seen often; classic is beautiful but rare can be show-stopping when it comes to jewelry.

I love the multi shape (and budget allowing I would love to have both!) but the classic tennis bracelet seems more wearable… I would wear the tennis with a ball gown or jeans and feel equally comfortable. The multi shape might feel a little try hard at the grocery store. That said I’d probably like/admire the multi shape on someone else regardless of circumstance.

I am always going to go for classic, and I prefer the 4 prong setting because the diamonds are closer together. On the other hand, I adore your station bracelet! Are the culets exposed or not? Did you get it recently? If so, can you tell me where you got it? I am interested in a bezel set bracelet.

tocranjo, you have some really gorgeous rings. Is there a thread for them? Would love to learn more.

59 voters and 74.6% for the tennis bracelet!

Why not pears? Personally I’m ok with all shapes in a multi-shaped bracelet even though I don’t care for a solitaire in that shape. Equal opportunity diamond lover when I can!

Oh, I’ll totally rock the multi-shape at the grocery store. In fact i think it looks a bit less formal than a tennis?

I got the station bracelet preloved so it’s not duplicable from my source but you can certainly get one from IDJ!

@ILikeShiny got hers from IDJ: https://www.pricescope.com/communit...ame-early-idj-station-tennis-bracelet.235887/

@ccuheartnurse did too: Post 41 in thread 'Diamond tennis bracelet for everyday wear?'

Mine are the thin DBTY with exposed cutlets. Took some pics to show you the profile, flipped look and marks it can leave. I really like the elegant thin profile (it’s like low profile and against my skin as opposed to a higher bezel) but was initially worried about the “pokiness”. Read from some PS-ers that you can get used to wearing DBTY after a while and indeed it took a few days but I no longer feel it much and it doesn’t bother me now (you can see the marks against my skin in the pics below but I really don’t feel it).

My other gold bracelets are more "interesting," and are broken up by different metal colors or gemstones of different colors/sizes. I would use the tennis bracelet as an enhancer of sorts, the consistent diamond size would be more eye-pleasing to me. But it depends on your style, and if you're wearing it solo or stacked!

I was just inquiring about a mixed cut tennis bracelet with DK. I'm with you on the getting both idea though. You can't go wrong either way.

I actually voted for the multi-shape over classic since it is easier for me to pair it with my rings of different fancy shape. In the end my hubby gifted me a mixed illusion cut diamond baguette bracelet which I totally love.

So I am going to stack it with a classic or not so classic (rounds mixed with emerald) bracelet but I am still on the fence ... since I have been on a bling binge since last year .. :(2

I prefer a more traditional single stone shape bracelet, bezel-set if the stones are round which is what I have, or semi-bezel for Princess Cut stones which is what I would like to have if I have some spare pennies.

DK :))

It’s great that we all have our different favs. =)2

Apart from a classic round tennis, I would love an emerald cut one but that seems fairly unlikely for now. Plus I really only wear bracelets on my left wrist so with limited wrist estate space I’m already very happy with the 2 that I already have and a classic tennis when I finally get one.

The above stack is worn 24/7 so on a per wear basis it seems to be really good value!

@icy_jade I only wear bracelets/bangles on my right hand, no more than 3 at the most, and have a few that I can pick and choose to fit my outfit and mood.

DK :))
