Prayers needed for my godson...

He tried to commit suicide. Just 3 weeks after his Mom made a very serious attempt. Thankfully she survived, but was in very critical condition. Her deal was a case of situational depression, won''t go into it here. I had long talks with him, bought him a cell phone, and told him I was here no matter what. Having been in the command mode for the past 3 weeks looking after his Mom, making sure her jobs were safe, looking after her parents. My heart ached when he had to go back to college. I promised him I would take care of his Mom. (We have been best friends since we were 15. )

I knew it was going to be sooo hard for him to leave her to go back to school. He goes to a school that is 6 hours away. I just got the nicest letter from him.... Now this. Crying doesn''t help, but the tears keep flowing.

Oh gosh Lisa, that''s a lot to swallow. I can only imagine how upset and helpless you feel even though it seems like you are doing absolutely everything you can and even more for your friend and her son. I can only hope that both of them see what true value their lives hold simply because of the fact that they are human and they are HERE. Hopelessness is a very dark thing. I hope they can both pull out of that, for their sakes and for everyone who loves them.

It must''ve been so hard for you to see his Mom go through that, and now to learn that he''s attempted the same thing. Did he feel overwhelmed by the situation with his mother? I don''t know what to say... except, continue being there for him and letting him know that you care. It might make even a teensy bit of difference, even though he might not show it at the time. I hope his mother gets better and he also feels better about things.

ETA: Was she on antidepressants? Studies show that some antidepressants increase suicide risk. Just wondering.... I really hope things get better. We''ll be praying for you.
