Oh, that''s so pretty! Is that the one he had on his website recently?
Love it!!!Date: 5/27/2010 7:52:17 PM

I also received another rubellite from Bob, and had it set in the pendant I found in NYC.
Haha, yeah, a couple of people, including a good friend of mine, have recently gotten Afghan tourms, and I just fell in love with the color! And even Gary said that stone was incredibly difficult to photograph - nothing looked right, no matter which setup he tried. I have a whole slew of pics, and none of them are perfect either, but I''ll keep working on it and post more imperfect ones later.Date: 5/27/2010 8:55:48 PM

It was you, Celle!
That stone was gone so fast! Looks even nicer than it did on his site.
Good for you! I look forward to seeing more of it in the new pricescope-verse.
Thanks TL - the Afghan tourmaline you had cut really opened my eyes to how gorgeous that origin could be. I''d love to see your rubellites - are they about the same color as mine? How are you planning to set them? You''re getting quite a collection of rubellites!Date: 5/27/2010 10:27:08 PM

I have two rubellites from Bob I have to set, and now your pendant is making me want to set them more than ever!!

Hey Uppy! The tourmaline is slightly minty, but it''s so hard to capture it! Thanks for your compliments on the pendant! I love the mounting too, and even though I didn''t have a stone yet, knew I had to have that one!Date: 5/28/2010 11:00:56 AM

You took my breath away!!!!!
I inhaled when I saw that gorgously honking tourm (is it slightly minty?)
and then I sucked in again when that pendant came onscreen!! I nearly needed a resuscitator!!!!! That mounting is awesome!!!!!
Wow, thanks Chrono, I''m very flattered, given the great custome settings you have. I''d love to be able to do that someday! And yeah, I understand the reluctance to post, and almost didn''t myself, but things were very sloooooow yesterday, lol.Date: 5/28/2010 11:15:08 AM

I tried hard not to post since yesterday until PS version 2 is up but it’s not fair to those who have something exciting to share. The Afghan tourmaline is pretty and the setting for your rubellite is gorgeous! I’ll have to have you shop settings for me the next time you plan to do some setting shopping in NYC. I love almost all the settings you have.
I have the exact same issues - I can get the blue and lavender flashes, but not the intensity of saturation! I found your rubellites and they look lovely, but I didn't see any size info - do you have that somewhere? I remember now that you're not a pendant gal, so are you thinking ring(s)?Date: 5/28/2010 11:09:01 AM

Afghan tourmalines can be very nice.
I've posted photos of the rubellites on PS before, but my camera didn't capture the saturation as well as IRL. Look under my thread titled something like red and green velvet, and they are there. The octagon pink tourmaline was from Vancegems (Intergem), but the two rounds were from Bob. There is no color shift on any of them, and they all have lavender in them, and lavender flashes of color.

iLander, the pendant is from Klim Jewelry on W 47th street. They actually have 2 locations on the same street, and their stuff is interchangeable. In fact, they share the selection of pendants, so if you don''t see them at one location, they''ll get it for you from their other store. I went with friends, and we all managed to get several pieces - it was a lot of crazy fun.Date: 5/28/2010 6:04:02 PM

Where in NYC did you get the setting? I have a friend who is going there next week and I can have her poke around the store for me.
