Puffy, cute invite. Make sure the white space is even on the proofs!

snlee, I feel your pain sister! Also it is OKAY to let him cry. My dad told me that is how babies get our their stress. Obviously I would only do it if all his needs have been met and only for 15 mins. or so. Sleep whenever you can.

TGal, she was standing when I went in there (she usually is when I go in there). Too bad I don''t have the video monitor. She is a silly girl.

snlee i''m really up for whatever. it doesn''t matter to me or B. we''ll have to work around D''s schedule and what works best for you and him. since B is pretty much go with the flow when it comes to naps, eating, or whatever. i agree with what tacori said, sometimes, they just have to cry and there is nothing that you can do to help it. when B was that young, he could scream and cry for periods of time, and i knew he wasn''t hungry and i had already did everything...fed, burped, swaddled, comforted, etc. and nothing would work, so i would just let him go at for a few minutes and then he would calm down.

tgal thanks!! i really liked the collage too, but i really couldn''t find any younger pics besides the sunglasses one that i liked. and he was a CHUNKY boy then. he was exactly 4 months in that pic, weighing in at just about 17lbs, so he had gained 10 lbs since he was born then. but he is slimming down now. i look back at some of the pics and just can''t believe that he was so little. i''m sure you feel that way about A too.

tacori the proofs were perfect. thanks for looking out! i saw on the other thread that you were looking to get an SLR camera? they are worth it...every dollar of it. your mom is in town...i think i remembered you saying that. forgive me if i''m wrong. but i''m sure you are very happy to have her there with you. how''s T''s costume coming along?

Thanks puffy

Yeah, as bad as it was, I am glad that we took her though.
Did manage to take some cute pictures, even if they came out with her eyes are squinted because of the sun.
That kid is like a vampire, can''t stand the sun light. We need to take her out more.

Love your invite.
It''s neat seeing how B grew over the months.
He was a chunky little boy huh? Too cute!

TGal
Haha, it does look like she''s running around picking her pumpkin huh?
Fortunately, she''s just standing WITH support.
Believe me, if she''s walking, I guarantee all you see is dust in that picture
41.gif

Yeah, her eyes did even out.
But she''ll still get the uneven creased every now and then when she doesn''t get enough sleep.

Thanks skippy and iluvcarats

MrsS
Hehe, that picture will go into one of my favorite shots of J file.
So is Jake on the go now?
5.gif

Babies progress so fast huh?

snlee
Ahhh, sorry for those sleepless nights.
Like the others have said, it will get better sooner or later.
Hopefully it will be sooner for you.

Bobo
Hehe, the pumpkin pic is too cute.
And B is so stylish too with his red blazer/sweater.
Man, you guys are making me feel like a bum mommy for dressing J in her onesies all the time (even on outings).

Diver
Welcome back.
Hope you are feeling better.
Love the halloween pix -- they are just adorable.
And those eyes

Hang in there.
There''s light at the end of the tunnel.

Tacori
Have fun with your mother''s visit.
I''m sure you gals will have a ball shopping and just cruising.

puffy
I didn''t know Millbrae is sunnier than SF. I thought the whole pennisula area gets foggy.
I haven''t been in the Bay Area since I was 5 months pregnant.
I have baby fever since I gave birth, because I missed being pregnant and want M and her sibling to be close in age. So we decided to talk about it when M is 1.

Tacori
You should visit SF. I might try to make the GTG if you do.
I hope u have an easy delivery for ur 2nd kid too when it happens

Burk
Yay for Tayva doing great at daycare.

Jackie
Can''t believe Jackson & Logan are 2 months already. Love their expressions. You are one hot mama.

snlee
long story short -M has a preauricular pit on her left ear. There can be associations with other ear problems or renal problems. M passed hearing test in the hospital, but an u/s showed a slightly larger right kidney. So this x-ray was to make sure that there''s no blockage in the urinary tract.

Sorry for the rough nights. Sounds like he is going through his 6 weeks growth spurt. It''ll get better.

Bobo
How r u and little B doing?

Little B looks so cute. He got his cheeks back. =D

MsFlutter
Love the pics of Ian. Look like he had fun.

MrsS
Jake is adorable.

Tgal
Diaper bag is one thing I m not obsessed with. I have a Tokidoki x LeSportsac diaper bag that I got before I got pregnant. It was around $160, but it more like a regular messenger bag than diaper bag. The one you are fixated on sounds really nice though. Could u use it for work or travel?

We have some videos of M, but we haven''t done anything with them. If the product is easy to use, I would definitely check it out. Right now I let DH do the work, and it can take awhile.

lili
J looks so pretty. LA pumpkin patches suck big time.

Diver
Jake & Delaney are the cutest pirates.

janine
Hope it gets bhey are better for you soon. It''s tough when they are fighting sleep. I know how you feel.

Sorry for this giant post.

Thanks Skippy & iluvcarats!

Diver, you got one gorgeous family!

Janiegirly, it was like that for us the first month or two. little B often fall asleep on DH chest as DH pass out on the bed. But it will get better.

Thanks Tacori, Tessa''s diva moment really cracks me up. too bad you didn''t have a video camera with ya.

puffy, I love the invitation!! love the one B with the sunglasses, too cute! I wish little B will be this chunky, I love chunky babies!

Thanks Snlee!

lili, little B has so many hand me down clothes. All the closet and drawers are filled with his clothes. He got soooo many jacket/seater/blazer. DH is the one that love to pick out his clothes, I on the other hand love onesies, just snap and go you know.

Qtiekiki, We''re doing good. Little B gain the weight back and 90% of it goes to the cheeks as usual.

Hi Everyone!!!

I''m terrible and you must all hate me for not posting more regularly but as you can imagine, I''ve been a bit busy! Plus I had internet issues and then I spent about 6 days in NJ with my parents and Lucy and just got back today. I have to catch up on soooo much and I''m really sorry for not checking in sooner but I''ve actually been enjoying myself this time around!!! I worked thru my entire maternity leave with Lily but this time I said no way and I''m so happy because I''m having a great time, as crazy as that sounds!

Lucy is a good baby. She is NOISY as hell and quite a little piggy but I really can''t complain about her. She is very alert and likes to be awake but when nighttime comes, the dear girl sleeps from 10-2, eats, sleeps till 5, eats again and then wakes up at 8 for the day where we do the TGal method of eat, play, sleep. Her naps are 2 hours at the most which is short if you ask me but iti s what it is! So I hate to say it but I''m pretty well rested most of the time! She doesn''t need to socialize when she wakes up in the middle of the night which is great! It''s strictly business--she has her bottle and passes out again. I have been a little lax with the middle of the night diaper changes because of that but she doesn''t seem to mind since it''s just pee and no diaper rash yet. So far so good but I know that now that I''ve posted this, she''s going to turn into a terror!!!!

snlee and janine, I know what you''re going through and all I can say is hang in there and do what you have to do. Everyone says the first 3 months are really about survival and it''s true. If you have to hold your baby to get him/her to sleep, DO IT. I do it and I don''t care. She slept in the bed with me at my parents house for 5 nights and it was great. Yes, we have a pack n play there but it was easier to just keep her in the bed with me. Don''t worry about it, you''re not starting any bad habits.

I have to say that going through this for the second time is a heck of a lot easier than the first time. I guess I''m lucky to have another good baby but I''m also so much more relaxed and comfortable about it. I don''t go running every time she makes a peep. As I mentioned, I don''t change her diapers as often as I should
23.gif
which is nothing to brag about but I am just more laid back. And yes, I''m actually doing stuff on my maternity leave like going shopping, meeting other friends with babies for lunch, watching bad tv, taking naps. We even hired a cleaning lady so I don''t care how messy I make the apartment!! I do wish we had a bigger space and that will be the number one priority for us within the next 6 months but for now, we''re doing ok.

Lily has been really good. She can''t say Lucy so she says Lulu which is super cute. She looks for her all the time and gives her kisses on the head. And when she''s doling out "high fives", she always includes her sister. So the adjustment is going fairly well from what I can tell but who knows?! I just want them to be friends when they get older and then I''ll be happy!

Anyway, sorry for the curlycentric drive by. I promise I will be more active from now on, I just have to force myself to turn on the computer more often! I am going to go back and catch up on everyone''s news. Hope all is well with our babies. Miss you all tons!! I''ll also post some pictures soon!
1.gif

I was in the market today, and had a PS moment. There was a mommy with a 1 year old, and the baby''s cheeks were so red. I''m guessing she had coxsackie virus. I found myself thinking "That baby is SICK!" and I remembered my post from last week about how strangers giving me their .02 drove me crazy! I just started laughing to myself, and now the mom probably thinks I''m crazy! LOL

Thanks for the support ladies. It makes me feel better knowing that this is normal and you''ve all experienced it.

After a few difficult nights, last night wasn''t bad. He was fussy from 2-5am and the rest of the time he put himself to sleep and slept for 2-3 hours at a time! Not the best night but I''ll take what I can get! I feel human again!

puffy, let me know if you think of something. Maybe we can meet up in a few weeks or so. But you are right, it may be a bit difficult to plan an exact time ahead of time since it has to be on D''s schedule. I can get out for an hour or two in between feedings, but I just don''t know when!

curly, great to "see" you! I am glad things are going well and it''s easier the second time around. Sounds like you are having a wonderful time with both your girls. That''s funny, D is noisy too! He''s noisy when he''s awake, asleep, and eating. He likes to move around a lot and stretch often. He''s also a pooping machine! I read that sometimes at a month babies don''t go poo for days at a time. He has it 2-3 a day. Lucy''s sleep schedule sounds like D''s on a good night (except I don''t get up at 8am)! I wish it was like that EVERY night!

Puffy, I still would have done the invites for you for free
2.gif
Hopefully they weren''t so expensive. My mom is coming tonight!
36.gif
I am very excited. I need to do her costume. Luckily it should be pretty easy.

Lili, we will have fun. It is hard not having family here so I take full advantage when they come! We already have a trip to the mall and costco planned. Plus it will be nice to have my mom''s help with her party. She is a great cook!

Q, I told DH we should go before T is 2 (so we don''t have to buy her a seat) so we''ll see. I would love to meet you all!

Bobo, she is SUCH a diva
20.gif
I might have problems with her later b/c of her strong will. But then again there is nothing wrong with being a strong woman who knows what she wants. She did the crib thing today when she refused to take her morning nap. But all was good b/c she took a FOUR hour nap at noon
24.gif
1.gif
I could get used to that! Haha.

Curly, good to hear from you lady! Sounds like you are all doing great. Hope you post some pictures soon.

iluv, if T was sick and I didn''t realize it I would totally want someone to tell me! I have PS moments all the time.

snlee, I used to pray for 3 hours. She was such a bad sleeper and now she is a champ! It will get easier.

Tacori I probably would have just been stating the obvious. I am sure she knew. I am pretty sure all babies get coxsackie (hand foot mouth disease) at some point. It is a virus where there are sores around and inside the mouth and it looks like someone slapped their cheeks b/c they are all red. Supposed to be just a kids virus, but I have friends who have gotten it from their kids.
Happy Birthday Tessa. The Big 1! xxoo auntie iluvcarats

So I may have a diaper bag fetish, which is SO not like me because I am not into shopping (nor have I ever been into purses). However I have always been into practical bags like bagpacks, etc. Anyway, I''m fixated on a diaper bag which costs nearly SIX HUNDRED dollars. No, I''m not going to buy it...I''m not nuts, but I still like it. Probably because I''ve been on the hunt for the perfect burgundy colored bag for years and this one is a really simple looking burgundy leather diaper bag which doesn''t look like a diaper bag. It''s actually laid out quite practically for an expensive diaper bag, but the REALLY practical side of me knows that expensive bags and things like sippy cups don''t go well together.

*sigh*

What kind of diaper bag are all you gals using?

*delurking* to say - blast you t-gal, i don''t even have a baby, yet i am seriously coveting that not rational bag . . .

Tell me about it. I''ve never paid more than 100 bucks for a bag in my life...probably no more than 50 because I simply don''t care. But this diaper bag...I''m thinking I may have to do this...

But gosh...that would be just nuts right now. 500 could buy...lotsa diapers.

TGal, about 2,000 diapers actually
2.gif

not to enable, but I would use that bag (i love the grey gretel) everyday regardless of whether I had a baby in diapers. perhaps ebay to find a balance between lust and sensibility

9.gif
Lovelylulu, there''s a choc brown gretl on ebay right now for 199. It did have a BIN of 300 and some change, but that''s no longer an option. I think the gretl is way too big and possibly too heavy, but if you like the bag in choc, might be a good deal. It''s NWT.

That''s A LOT of diapers Tacori. Maybe if I start potty training her in about 6 months, I can justify this bag?

I never spend any money on myself (although I did just get a new camera, but I''m talking more "fashion" stuff). Part of me thinks I should. *sigh*

TGal, oh you do deserve it. Sorry to be the voice of reason. I buy stupid stuff all the time! Plus you are a working mom so you could use it when you travel. I am lusting over a $1,000 bookcase. That is just as indulgent as your diaper bag. Can you ebay some of the ones you already have to go towards the cost. My friend wanted a Nikon SLR so bad she sold stuff on Craig''s list and made $1200.

I could probably sell some of my bags but they all serve a purpose. The Fleurville was butt cheap at 46 bucks and will be perfect to take on the plane to Oz (I''ll have it stuffed and will also use it as a footrest...won''t be doing that with an expensive bag!). The only bag I would see is the JuJuBe PackBe right now. That was the best deal at 40 bucks and while I am not using it much now, I can see myself using it later for trips to the park where I want my hands free. Plus I''d feel guilty selling it for more than what I paid, and 40 bucks isn''t going to help my cause much.
20.gif

And then there is this guiitar I have that I never learned to play really well...I could probably sell that, but then I think, what if Amelia likes singing? I can play and sing for her...

I really should start selling a bunch of my stuff. Hm.

snlee anytime you want some "mommy company," i''m up for it. i would love to meet your precious little guy and you too and your yummy ering!! glad to hear that you got a few extra hours of sleep in!! here''s hoping that it stays that way! just FYI, up until B was about 3 or 4 months, he was a pooping machine too! he was going at least 3 times a day.

QTyup, millbrae is a lot sunnier than SF! when i drive to SF for about 5 miles or so, it is all FOG, then coming home, once you get close to millbrae, it starts to clear up and the sun is out. that''s good that you and your DH have a "plan" to discuss TTC when M is 1. my brother and i are about 1 year apart and we got along pretty well. DH and his brothers are 2-3 years apart and they got along great too. but i really want to TTC just because i so miss being preggo. how is M?

lili haha, B was so big. i can''t believe he was THAT big at a point in time. but he''s average now. once they are mobile and so much more active, they start to slim down a lot. but you should know that, you have a very active hurrican J on your hands
2.gif

tacori you guys are cooking for T''s party? that is so awesome!! i am sure that you will have really good food. have fun while your mom is in town. is she going trick or treating with you guys? and i will keep that in mind for next time i need cute invites...you know about doing them for free
31.gif
2.gif
i''m happy that i got them because i really do like them a lot. and even DH likes them, even though he was so against getting them...they turned out to be around $5 for 1 invite. way more than i wanted to spend, but i figure, he''s only 1 once right? and then we got the thank you cards too.

curly so glad to hear that things are going well with your girls!

bobo little B is still cute even though he''s underweight! his cheeks are the BEST!!! chunky babies are cute though especially when all you want to do is pinch them all over
3.gif

tgal i''m with everyone else, splurge on yourself! i know all we mommies want to do is buy for the kiddies, but treat yourself. i always want to buy crazy stuff that i probably would never use or use once or wear once and that''s it. i love to shop for anything and everything. and if you can find stuff that you don''t need to sell, even better...you can out that to future purchases.

So I mentioned in another thread but not in here that Tessa had her first temper tantrum yesterday. She laid FACE DOWN on the rug, her little hands balled up in fists and started kicking her legs (all while crying of course). I think she was just tired. Not sure WHAT it was all about
33.gif
I would be lying if I said it wasn''t cute but not something we will encourage. The advice given to me is to IGNORE so that is what I did. Just another Diva moment for the baby book!

Puffy, thanks. We are going to the mall today (without T). I am very excited!!!

hi, I had to pop in when I saw curly post--good to hear from you! I can''t wait to see some photos of your girls!! Sounds like Lucy is a doll--and I''ve been lax on the nighttime diaper changes too. I do one in the early morning, but middle of the night I pass unless I smell poop. The first week I changed her each time she woke up! Oh and I''m curious what kind of formula you''re using?

as for me, the past 2 nights have been much better! I gave her a bottle at 10pm, she went down at 11pm, up at around 4, then 8, then 11, so no complaints. Let''s hope it keeps up. She''s more alert now and I swear I saw a few smiles at me. We had her one month pedi appt yesterday, I can''t believe it''s one month. She''s doing well but of course they told me percentiles, so that made me obsess, but overall she''s growing and happy. She has some dry skin on her eyebrows (I forgot the technical name) which keeps coming back, so I have to some research on that. Things have been busy otherwise as well since we are moving and closing on a house.

hope everyone else is good and thanks for all the advice!

I wouldn''t say that....didn''t you get the DSLR for Amelia?
41.gif

Tacori, we have those tantrums on an almost daily basis here these days!!! Lily is a total diva and is not afraid to express herself. She''s even done it out in public which is not as cute or funny as when she does it at home!
2.gif
Sometimes she is just tired but most of the time it''s from frustration since she can''t fully express herself. I thought this didn''t come till the "terrible twos" but I guess Lily''s an overachiever and has to do everything early. Sounds like Tessa is showing off how advanced she is too!!!!

janine, sounds like things are going well for you!!! Chloe is giving you some good stretches of sleep which is awesome. Lucy slept from 8:30-2:30 last night and I was in heaven! I hope you are feeling better, it really makes a huge difference when you get some rest. As for formula, we use Enfamil. We used it with Lily as well and it''s what they provided in the hospital so we''re just sticking with it. Neither one of my girls has had any issues with it yet. I am curious about trying the Costco brand which diver has recommended since it''s soooo much cheaper and has all the same ingredients so I may actually pick some up the next time I''m in NJ visiting my parents. Formula is so ridiculously expensive so to spend $20 on a 51 oz. can is much better than spending $32 on a 38 oz. can of the same stuff but with a different brand. From what I understand, they are all the same--Similac, Enfamil, etc. They only change the contents when you are doing soy or nutramigen or something special to help with reflux or other digestive issues.

Lucy has her one month appointment on Monday, kinda late since she''ll be 5 weeks tomorrow but our pedi is always busy. I''m curious to hear her progress because she''s totally a piglet. She has to weigh at least 10 lbs at this point! janine, don''t worry about the percentiles until you have more numbers to compare them to, like after her next appointment. I''m sure Chloe''s doing great since your doctor didn''t say anything negative, right? Just keep doing what you''re doing, mama!!!

hi curly, I''m using the gentlease enfamil powder . I started off with similac advanced ready made(since hospital started me on that), but i thought she was a bit gassy and fussy so switched, but not sure if she was just being a normal baby with the fussiness. so far seems ok, but there are way too many choices for formulas!

chloe was in 25% for length, 50% for weight and something higher for head. Doc said it was perfectly fine, but of course i started to wonder if she has a huge head or something!

i really can''t wait for photos of lucy and lily and i commend all you ladies who have a newborn and a toddler!!

41.gif
Yup, FOR Amelia. Hee hee. But as I said, I meant more for fashion stuff. Haven't bought anything nice for my appearance in a long loooooong time. It has to do with my current size...even shoes are uncomfy.
20.gif

ETA, I did splurge on myself bigtime, btw. I'll post more about it when I receive the item.
1.gif

D had his one-month check up and is doing well. He's 8lbs 14oz! I can't believe he gained over 3 pounds in a month! The pedi said he's a healthy and strong baby. His jaundice is completely gone. D got is second Hep B shot, which was difficult to watch but I was able to calm him down after pretty quickly. Since he's technically a preemie and babies get a big transfer of iron at 34-36 weeks in the womb, the pedi wants to give him iron as a precaution. He also wants us to bottle feed him once a day to get him used to the bottle. Sometimes babies won't take it when they are older. I have two options for the bottle-feeding 1) pump and put a drop of Poly-Vi-Sol with Iron in the breast milk (since breast milk contains the same amount of iron no mater what you eat/do) or 2) give him formula. Since I already need to pump and freeze milk soon to get ready for when I return to work, I don't think it's possible for me to pump enough milk for one feeding a day and to freeze some for later. We're going to try one bottle of formula a day and see how that works. And since DH will be doing the one bottle-feeding at night, I can get some more sleep, which I'm happy about.

I asked the pedi what I could do during difficult fussy nights. He said to not carry D when he starts crying. Instead go over to him and comfort him by touching and talking to him for 30 seconds or so, while he's still lying down. Walk away for 3-4 minutes, then come back for another 30 seconds. Keep repeating this and if he still doesn't calm down in 15 minutes, pick him up. Carry him for only 5 minutes and put him back down crying or not. Keep repeating this until he's asleep or calm. After 3-4 days, he should learn to calm/comfort himself down. This peaks at 6 weeks, so the worst is almost behind us! Also, the pedi said D can last at least 2.5 hours so don't nurse him more frequently than that. Otherwise, he'll just be nursing for comfort. That is really helpful to know!

D just had a fussy moment and after about 20 minutes of doing what the pedi suggested (which was more difficult than it sounds) he calmed down. Let's hope this method works.

hi, I had to pop in when I saw curly post--good to hear from you!

Glad to hear your nights are getting beter! I always used aquaphor for the dry skin.

hi curly, I''m using the gentlease enfamil powder .

She needs room for her giant brain!

TGal, I have a hard time spending a lot of money on myself too, especially for fashion. I''m cheap. I don''t think I could bring myself to spend $600 on a diaper bag. Diamond jewelry maybe...but not a bag.

Can''t wait to see what you got for yourself!

puffy, good to know other babies are poop machines too! Are you/were you BFing B?

Tacori, enjoy your time without T. It''s nice to get out once in a while without the baby!

curly, Happy one month to Lucy! Having looked into formula, I realize how freaking expensive it is! Now I recall diver recommending Kirkland formula. I mentioned how much cheaper it in to DH but he thinks name brand is better. I''ll have to try to convince him otherwise!

janine, Happy one month to Chloe! I''m glad you were able to get some better nights. D has dry skin on his eyebrows too. It''s very similar to cradle cap. When it''s not on his scalp, it''s called seborrheic dermatitis. I''m sure baby oil will help it go away if it bothers you.

I can''t wait to see all the pictures of cute babies dressed up for Halloween!
