MrsM, what a funny picture of A! How cute!

puffy, beautiful purse and wallet!

jas12, beautiful pictures, especially the one with Co relaxing on the beach. Sounds like you had a fabulous trip!

Tacori, I loved my Cabbage Patch doll! I still have it. It's so dirty from me carrying it everywhere! What a wonderful Christmas gift for T!

jas, glad you survived the party. I can't believe your SIL started talking about schmesticles! LOL

MrsS, adorable pictures of Jake! Mr. Bear is shrinking! Sorry to hear he has a double ear infection but glad to hear he's taking it well.

Diva, good to see you again. Sounds like you and James are doing well. That's awesome that you don't have to go back to work yet. Enjoy your time with James.

TGal, I know what you mean about it being draining being part of a big group. I much rather hang out at home with my baby and DH! D is sometimes fine in the swing without the swaddle. Other times he needs the paci and/or swaddle. And then sometimes he just doesn't like the swing! I hope he continues to like the swing too!

janine, we bought the Graco Silhouette Swing from BRU. It's one of the more expensive swings but the 15% coupon helped a little. I would take Chloe to BRU and try out the swing to see if she likes it. Hope she does! How long does she sleep at night? I hope you can get some better nights soon. Hang in there too! It should get better now that we are at 6 weeks! Yay!
1.gif

Burk, hope T's allergies get better soon! Poor thing! It's amazing to watch your child learn and explore. That picture melts my heart.

I had my 6-week postpartum check today. We were hoping to get the all clear even though DTD scares me! Unfortunately (fortunately?) things aren't completely healed down there where I got the episiotomy. It was a painful exam! It hurt so badly when my MW put some silver nitrate on it to help the healing process. It's really crazy what our bodies go through during pregnancy, L&D, and recovery.

Thanks TGal...i will have to do a quick research on the car seat when i get home..but i think that it said that when the kid is 13 KG i can flip? i can''t recall..i have to check...

but thanks for the link anyway..:)

msb, that''s what it is in the US too...13 kg (20 pounds) + 1 yr old and we can flip babies around. What the video is trying to say is that it would be safer to keep them rearfacing longer. You would have to find what the maximum height and weight restriction is on your carseat, not the minimum front facing requirement.

great..thanks :) i will do the research when im home today...(yes..im chitchatting away on PS while in the office =D )

thanks for the video t-gal. that is pretty scary. It does get hard as they get close to one to want to turn them early but I never did. Had I seen that video I might have waited even longer than the first birthday and 20 lb mark.

jake is still in the infant seat. he is so heavy now and I'm tired of lugging it around but I usually run errands in the morning and he still naps in it so I can go in and out of stores while he's asleep. I'll have to give that up. I have been taking him out when he's awake though because I just loves to sit in the carts and flirt with any lady that will stop and talk to him
3.gif
. I think I may change him in the next day or so too.

Burk- love the pic of tayva, she's such a doll. I hope you get some good news on the allergy front.

MrsS. My doc gave me the okay for corn and actually most allergy producing food (except honey). I find this all so confusing but there has been *a lot* of news on food allergies in canada lately. Apparently the overwhelming majority of new studies are suggesting no clear link to a delay in food introduction equaling an avoidance of allergies. In fact my dr. said some studies are showing just the opposite
40.gif
Even if the new evidence is pointing in this direction, i can''t get the old stuff out of my head so i''ll probably wait a while before introducing the ''scary'' stuff (peanuts, shelfish etc.) oh to be a parent in the ''information age''
If anyone is interested, here is a short article
linky

Burk--i hope the allergy tests bring some answers, poor T. Those cheeks of hers are just delicious! What a cool picture.

Tgal--thanks for that link, i haven''t made the switch yet. Maybe this weekend.
As for finger food. I always break up the stuff. The corn and apple bits are freeze dried and smaller than a pea, so they are good (they dissolve in the mouth like a puff but are only one ingredient so i like them better) and Kamut puffs are a little bigger so i will break them in half. Cohen has crazy good dexterity. No problems picking up rice-sized items with his ''pincer'' so i really want to encourage that skill.
I forgot to mention. Your new bag is gooorgeous! The latest purchases on here are giving me luxury-goods envy. I bought a great Chanel knock-off in morocco which will have to do, but it''s SO not the same
5.gif

In other news I think i''ve decided to do my certification to become a Bradley method childbirth instructor. There are really no options for childbrith classes in my area and i really thought the book was excellent and greatly helped Charlie and I through my delivery. i looked into what was offered here. The closest instructor is 6 hours away so obviously we need someone in this community ! I called the head office yesterday (in CA) and they are sending the 2009 training schedule. I would have to go to the US for a 4 day course followed by 9 months of distance training. I wouldn''t make much money from it or anything, more just an interest of mine and to fill a need in our community.

Well, I think it was a fluke. T would not take a sippy yesterday. I think she is teething for sure b/c she was fussy all day and screamed/cried all night. It was the worst night we have had in a long time. I felt so bad for her. DH rocked her back to sleep at 1 am but she was moaning throughout the night. Even today she seems to be in pain. Noggin is the only thing that calms her down. Plus she hasn''t been eating that much and that happened last time she was teething.

I still remember when I got my cabbage patch kid roll too! I loved her. I still have her in our garage somewhere. I figured I would give that to T when she is older but she should have her own. I looked at TRU ($32.99) to see if I liked their''s better. But no which is good b/c Target had a sale last week ($25.99 usually $29.99). T INSISTED on walking around TRU herself. BTW she is running now. So funny. It''s hard b/c I wanted to get one with her coloring but lord knows I have no idea what color my girl''s eyes are. Haha. I got a dark blonde/blue eyed doll. Of course mine was blonde/blue eyed and I am brown/brown so I guess it doesn''t really matter. Have you guys seen those Twinn dolls? They are cool and I like them better than American girl dolls b/c the customize them to look like your child (you send a pic). They are cheaper than I imagined too. Anyways we are a LONG way from that!

BRU have gerber grads on sale. Target has puffs, 3 for $5 (better than BRU). Just found out BRU will take *most* of TRU coupons (and other way around). Plus you can stack coupons. They have their diaper deal going on too. $5 GC if you buy two boxes which isn''t great but there are $4 off a box coupons floating out there PLUS if you use a pamper''s coupon (usually $1.50) per box it is a good deal ($8 off per box). I cannot pay full price for diapers. I even started buying size 5s for when she outgrows 4s.

TGal, no I cannot believe I have a one year old! But the baby fever still have not kicked in. Plus it is fun she can play games (we chase each other or play with blocks). 12 months is a fun age.

MrsS--forgot to add--luv the holiday avi--it''s that time again already!? Where did this year go? did u take your family photo for your christmas card yet? U know we''d luv to see it

thanks for the link on the food stuff. Things have changed since my 4 year old was born. I honestly don''t remember avoiding anything but nuts until 2 and milk until 12 months with them. I just started feeding them table food when appropriate and if it was potato''s with butter, that''s what they ate. none of them have any food allergies either. that''s cool about getting your Bradley Method cert. too. I think that would be very rewarding.

tgal started a thread in hangout re: holiday avatars so I thought i might as well go ahead and do mine. I forgot to change it for halloween which is a pic of my dog with mickey mouse ears on.

I haven''t done the Christmas card picture yet. I''m not sure what background I want. My girls have beautiful dresses I bought on sale last year and I''ll need to get something for Jake. I hoping there is a festival of trees or something here where we can maybe get a good picture. I also want to wait until the first of dec.because Jake can change so quickly. I don''t usually post pics of my older kids but I promise to think about it if it turns out really good
2.gif

MrsS. i don''t know what the answer is to the food stuff. Things obviously change so fast as you point out. Some day i stress and some days i am just "meh". I know my mom was like you and just gave us whatever she was eating. I have terrible allergies and me sister has none, so who the heck knows.
A festival of trees would be a gorgeous backdrop for your pics. I understand not posting the older kiddo''s pic.
I looked at the holiday card templates at tiny prints and i love so many of them (but kinda pricey) maybe i''ll wait until i have another kid before spending money on that sort of thing.

Tacori--poor Tessa (and mommy and daddy) i hope this tooth comes in speedily. I think it''s neat that her eyes are so mysterious, it''ll be neat to see if they ''land'' on a color or always remain a mix of shades. I have a friend whose eyes really seem to change each day with what she wears and i luv em.

All four of my neices have a My Twin Doll and they LOVE them. They each got them on their 6th Christmas (my baby neice will be getting hers this year, but she doesn''t know it yet) and they take such good care of them, but still play with them, too. It''s so cute because you can get clothing that is the same for the doll and the child.

Morgan is the oldest, 13 now, and while she doesn''t dress like her doll anymore, she still has her up on the dresser and will sometimes change her clothes and play with the doll with her sisters. Only sometimes, though. She has to be in the right mood. My SIL asked her when they were changing her room from girly colors to a more teen set up if she wanted to have the doll put away, Morgan went nuts and said something like, "What? My twin? No way. She''s staying, Mom." So on the dresser she remains.

In my opinion, it''s totally worth the cost and it''s also a good memory of the child you once had (because dang it if they don''t grow too fast).

Some of the girls'' ended up with more obvious likeness to their doll than others. Morgan has flaming red hair and piercing blue eyes and very fair skin; her eyes are HUGE and the doll reflects that. This doll looks most like the child it was intended to replicate. Hannah has strawberry blonde hair, freckles, and a goofy smile that will always be with her. The doll has a similar skintone to Hannah, missed it on the mouth, and the haircolor is off a good bit (too brown), but still it''s clearly a lot like Hannah. Kaddee has brown hair (light/medium) and brown eyes with green around the edges. The doll looks a lot like her, haircut and everything.

Anyway, My Twin Dolls are awesome!!

burk YAY!!! for the bag...i''m sure your DH will be fine with it. i mean it''s not really for you, it''s for T. and that pic of T is sooooo CUTE!! such a darling she is!

snlee thanks! being scared to DTD after L&D is totally normal! heck, i think DH was more scared than i was the first time after B was born. how''s D been? loving the swing?

tacori poor T...teething is no fun for sure! B has a few coming in, but he''s gotten so used to it, i think that he is ok with it now. but it is still no fun. hope these teeth come in soon!!! and poor mama and daddy
7.gif

mrss what a cute pic in your avatar!

jas12 sounds like Co is doing well with eating finger foods!! i just wanted to add about food allergies, i accidently gave B sourdough bread. we were at a restaurant having dinner with friends, and he wanted some, so i gave him some. at that moment, it didn''t occur to me not to give it to him because of the citrus. well, 2 hours later his face and whole body puffed up. his face got so swollen, his eyes wouldn''t even open. he was COVERED in hives. i wanted to take him to the ER but our pedi said to give him a dose of benadryl and 15 minutes later, the swelling and hives started to go away slowly. that was when he was 8 months. so for now i don''t give him any more citrus, but i have given him whole wheat and some other things that the pedi said not to until 1 year.

tgal that''s what DH said, that the dinner party os more for us than B, but the kiddie party is more for him, i guess. are you enjoying your bag? thanks for posting the link for the video! i had to show it to DH because i want to keep B rear facing for awhile, but DH wants to turn him around when he turns 1, so after i showed him the video, he is all for waiting to turn him around. THNAK YOU!!!

msb thanks! how is little K doing?

MrsS, Jake is so cute! Mr.bear has shrink quite a bit sitting next to Jake. Sorry to hear about the double ear infection, hope he gets better soon.

TGal, I use my camera to watch videos and pics of little B when I''m away from him too, I think all mom can relate. Love your holiday avatar. Thanks for the youtube link. We also installed the Britax Boulevard over the weekend, but little B doesn''t seem to like it that much compare to the Graco.

Thanks for the info. lili!

Burk, will give cheerio a try this weekend. I just need to get my broom ready...Hope Tayva''s isn''t allergic to too many stuff. Love the pic of Tayva chasing the sun. Little B was chasing his shadow on the carpet last night. He even tried to eat the shadow.

Tacori, poor Tessa, hope the tooth comes soon.

puffy, it must have been quite a scare for you. I never know sourdough bread have citrus in them, now I know.

Tgal~Thanks! She was so obsessed with the sun. Makes me wonder what goes through their little heads sometimes! I treated myself to a Coach diaper bag. It''s the lozenge with a pink stripe. Hopefully we have another girl the next time around!
21.gif
As for our tall girls getting smooshed, I think it''s probably more us worrying than them actually caring! T plays away in her car seat and it really never seems to bother her.

msb~Thanks! We''re hoping that the allergies are something that will go away. I guess we''ll see.

snlee~Thanks! It is so fun watching T explore everything. Sorry everything isn''t healed yet. It''s amazing what a woman''s body goes through during child labor.

mrss~Thanks! I got tired of lugging T around too!

jas12~Thanks! That''s awesome that Co does so well with small finger foods. Very cool about becoming a bradley instructor. Keep us posted!

Tacori~Poor Tessa! Hopefully those teeth will pop through ASAP. We''ve had ourselves a few rough nights lately so I can totally relate. If it stops raining I''m going to head out and start checking out the cabbage patch kids tonight (and hit up Target for puffs)

puffy~Thanks! I''m not even sure my DH will even notice when I start carrying the new bag!

3.gif
So scary about B reacting to citrus!! You must have been terrified!

Bobo~Let us know how it goes with the Cheerios. When I first started giving them to T I had to feed her, but she eventually got the hang of it. So cute B was chasing his shadow. Kids do the cutest things.

It''s cold and rainy here today and my mom has me hooked on McDonald''s Oatmeal raisin cookies (I know, sounds weird-I usually dislike McDonalds, but these cookies are YUMMY!!) so I just had to go out and get a soda and cookies. Bad idea. I should have just stayed at work. I cannot get warmed up now and the time cannot go by fast enough for school to be out and me to get Miss T. Hope you are all having a great day!

Thanks everyone. Her current 6 teeth didn''t seem to bother her as much as this. She is napping. Poor thing!

Fisher, thanks for the Twinn doll info. I have a feeling T will be getting one in a few years.

Jas12, I thought the pedi said what they have at a year is what their eye color will be so who knows! Yesterday they were gray-blue (slate like).

MrsS, I wanna see the family pic!!! Jake is SO adorable!

Puffy, how scary about B! I am lucky, T has never had any reactions or choked (which is amazing seeing what I give her
40.gif
)

Burk, good luck on the cabbage patch kid hunt!

Re:carseats....T is facing forward...hmmm...she screams otherwise. I''ll have to check out the video.

Thanks Tacori! I''ll have T with me so it may not be very productive (I''m sure you know what I mean
2.gif
) but my SIL and I are going Christmas shopping this weekend (she''s preggo and due December 15th so she wants to get done with Christmas stuff ASAP) so I''ll hopefully be able to get one then. Hopefully Tessa has a better night tonight. Teething sucks.
7.gif

puffy
I''m not a bag lady :P, but I have to say that is one purty bag.
Are you and TGal starting a new craze here w/ your bags?

Diva
Was just wondering about you James.
Can''t believe that little James is 4 months already.
Sounds likes he''s not so little anymore
5.gif

Can''t wait to see your little pug.

QT
Haha, J was like that too.
She''s very stingy with her laughs and smiles.
We have to do something that is unexpected and silly just to get her to crack a smile.

jas12
Naps? What are those?
Haha, I'd be lucky if she naps twice a day.
She'll naps twice if she didn't have a good night's sleep,
else it's just once a day. And her naps are usually 1/2 hr short.

Hmmm...I don't think she has a favorite food.
She'll eat her veggies, but she doesn't gobble them up like Co.
Some days, she's more enthused about it, and other days, she'll be gagging with the same food.
I think it depends on when we feed her....if it gets in the way of her playtime, she'll fuss.
Yeah, she'd sacrifice eating and sleeping for playtime.

Oh, didn't know you can try the freeze dried stuff and feed them some of the food that they recommend after 1 yr.
I was thinking about giving her the yogurt melts, but was a bit hesitant since it is dairy.

MrsS and TGal
Was talking to DH just yesterday about putting the bigger carseat in this weekend.
Let's see if she'll be a better passenger with this new seat *fingers crossed*.

Hehe, love the "new" avis. Can't believe it is that time of year already.
Ooo....can't wait to see all the babies in their holiday outfits!

Tacori
How cute that Tessa is running already.
I can just picture her little legs shuffling along
9.gif

Burk
LOL. that is such a cute and funny picture of Tayva.
Love those cheeks.
30.gif

Burk, shopping with T is so annoying b/c she wants to walk. If she isn''t she whines. Plus she hates to hold my hand. It can be a disaster.

Lili, it is funny. She also walks with her hand behind her back (palms out). She cracks me up!

Oh she seems interested in the sippy again today!
36.gif
Probably b/c it is half apple juice (I caved...I am desperate). I smell poop...

Tacori
Haha, you mean the "don''t mess with me" walk with her belly thrust forward?
9.gif

My nephew does the same thing too.....it''s the funniest walk.
It''s too bad we can''t post video clips on here....cuz I''d sure love to see the babies in action.

Jas12
That''ll be so neat if you get your certification as a Bradley isntructor.
And you can tell your student that the method works as you had first hand experience with it :)
Can''t believe you and snlee went through 20+ of labor w/o any pain medicine.

Hi, I have been on the diamond side of the website for a little while, but have been having a look around the rest of PS this evening, I have 10 month old daughter called Neve and we are about to start ttc number two. I wondered if it would be ok to join your thread?
1.gif

Lottie--
To join, you need to post a pix of your Neve
41.gif
(j/k)
We welcome everybody
5.gif

Good luck with TTC for #2

Thanks, am just working out how to make her my avatar and I''ll put her on!

Hi Mommies, just wondering, am I the only one who can''t always post in this thread? Most times when I try, I don''t get a cursor in the message form. Doesn''t happen anywhere else on PS, just this one thread. It means I''ve struggled to keep up and haven''t responded to a lot of people who''ve given me help / commented on photos. Please don''t be offended, I just find that often I can''t post anything here.

TGal, thank you for the car safety reminder. We actually thought Amelia was starting to outgrow her first car seat, so that was a timely reminder to get a bigger seat that can face rear until she''s properly ready to face forwards. Glad you like the pics, too!

Tacori, I''m sure you don''t love it while you''re actually trying to shop, but T sounds like she''s cute on a shopping trip. I mean, if you can''t wander around the store, you can''t identify and pick out the things you want, can you??
9.gif
I''m delighted you think Amelia looks like me btw, no one else does! She was like a mini dh for the first few months, but I think that''s starting to change. Sorry you''re having trouble with the sippy. If it''s any comfort, nothing on earth will make Amelia suck from anything at all. No bottles, and now no sippy. She''ll BF and that''s it, that''s all. She will however sip water directly from a cup or a spoon. Funny little thing.

Burk, that sunlight photo is the most adorable thing. Sweet baby, isn''t it lovely when they get so engrossed in something? Amelia will play for a long time with the zipper on my sweater with the intense look of concentration. Wish I could get a photo of that.

MrsS, how on earth did Jake get so big so quick?? I remember the first photo with that bear, he was soooo small next to it! He''s growing up to be really handsome though. He looks like he''s a lot of fun to hang out with!

I actually figured out how to download photos from my cellphone today. I have about 40 million pics of Amelia, right from day one. I usually have my cellphone with me, don''t often have the actual camera.

amepsbbo.JPG

I didn''t realize dairy was so bad. I have been giving her yobaby yogurt since she was 7-8 months old. She will eat a whole slice of cheese too (great finger food IMHO). Poor T. Luckily she hasn''t had reactions. She eats whole grain fish (crackers) too. I know nuts and honey are off limits and she didn''t have chocolate until her first birthday (and once since then).

Lottie, Welcome!
35.gif
Can''t wait to see Neve and hope you get your BFP soon!

MrsM, really? I think she looks very much like her mama. I get the same reaction though I think T is a combo. I really wanted to avoid juice but she only had two wet diapers yesterday so I gave in. I figure it will get her used to it and I will dilute it slowly until it is just water. People get a kick out of watching her run around the store (even this tough looking teenage boy. He was all smiles the softy!) She was grabbing all sorts of stuff. Luckily we play this chasing game where DH or I say "I''m gonna get you" and we chase her or have her chase us by changing direction (which she finds SO funny. She squeals with delight) so I started doing that to get her to follow me. Seemed to work. Cute picture!

Burk, forgot to comment on pretty little T! Her cheeks are adorable. My T has a pair on her too. Little Bobo might be the winner though!
30.gif

My daughter had serious cheeks too!

(Thanks for indulging me!)

Tacori - my daughter as a baby looks so muck like Tessa!

iluv your daughter was a precious little thing, and still is. so cute!

tacori yeah, that was pretty scary, but that was one time. and i have given him yogurt, cheese, milk, yogurt melts, everything, but i will lay off the citrus stuff for a little while longer. i SO know what you mean about going shopping and it being a pain with T. B is the same way. when he''s in the stroller and he''s ok, he will see something he wants and he just whines and points and babbles until i let him out, then i can''t seem to get him back into the stroller. and he hates to be carried when we are out now, even in the carrier. he usually loves the carrier, but not anymore, he will cry bloody murder until i let him out and he is on his feet.

burk heehee, your DH sounds like mine. he doesn''t really notice anything new unless i tell him it''s new. enjoy it
9.gif
you deserve it!

lili thanks! i LOVE bags which is a very bad thing for DH
2.gif
but he''s getting the hang of it. how is J? walking yet? ok, ok, standing on her own yet?

lottie welcome
35.gif
congrats on a daughter and good luck TTC #2! i envy you!! i would love to TTC but DH and i are waiting a few more months.
