Only have a minute. Took T back to the doc today and they did a chest x ray. She has pneumonia!! No wonder she hasn''t been herself. Lots of meds today and tomorrow and if she''s not better by Saturday they''ll admit her to the hospital. More later when DH gets home.

Oh no! The poor little sweetie!

Hope she is on the mend and doesn''t need to be addmitted. Keep us posted!

Burk
- oh no, poor Tayva. hope she''s recovering and doesn''t need to be admitted.
- that''s pretty funny about the caretaker having to isolate her during feeding. j is the same too. lifts her head up at every little noise just to check it out.

Bobo
- thanks, i''ll give lanolin a try. hate to use hydrocortizone on her too often.
- now i want to see this Q-tip picture of little B :D

Lottie
- Neve is such a sweetie pie. love her big blue eyes and that platinum blonde hair. the "got caught" picture is priceless. thanks for sharing :)

Tacori
- you definitely need a break. as much as we love our little one, there''s just so much of whining that we can take.
- it must melt your hearts when T gives you hugs. how sweet.

msb

sounds like little K is doing pretty good on the eating front.

QT
- sorry to hear that your maternity leave is about to end. it is difficult at first leaving your baby, but it''ll get easier. at least you know M will be comfortable and well taken care of at home with MIL.

Burk: Sending tons of fairy dust for Miss T. I do hope she feels better from the meds and won''t have to be admitted to the hospital. The poor little thing. Sending you, T, and your hubby and great big hug.

Love, Linda

Burk, poor T! I hope she feels better soon!!!

Hi, thanks for your kind comments and such a lovely welcome.

Burke - Neve was born on Jan 4th so they are very close in age, I hope Tayva is feeling better.

Bobo - Neve has quite bad eczema behind her ears and we have tried everything to clear it up, I saw your earlier post and will give lanolin a try.

Tacori - how old is your lo if you don''t mind me being nosey?

Neve has decided in the last couple of days that she doesn''t want to be fed - she wants to feed herself only she is not a great shot! Did any of your lo''s do this? I am introducing more fingerfoods and veg that she can pick up and eat but i''m not sure if that will teach her in the long run not to use cutlery?

lottie B''s is 11 months and he has been "feeding" himself since about 7 months. he will use his hands to get his snacks, puffs, cheerios, just small pieces of food. but he also uses his spoon to feed himself as well. he does this when ever i offer a spoon to him. if i don''t give him a spoon, he uses his hands. but with some things, he will always use his hands, like his snacks. he was not so good at it at first and cleaning was a real pain, but now he is great at feeding himself. he get 97% of the food into his mouth
6.gif
i would say just let her explore right now.

Thanks Puffy - its makes a mess doesn''t it! I gave her some steamed carrot batons yesterday which I thought she would be thrilled with but with a big smile on her face she picked them up one by one and threw them over her shoulder. I had to turn away so she couldn''t see me laughing!

puffy, little B always had eczema on the front of his legs but it got worse after he was released from the hospital. He will scratch it so bad that it bleeds and leave a scare. Lanolin really clear up his eczema.

Tacori, doesn''t it melt your heart when she hugs you. Little B plant a kiss on my lips the other day, he was standing on my legs facing me and playing with my hair. All the sudden he turn his face towards me and look at me for a few second and kiss me right on the mouth. My heart just melt like a pot of chocolate.

iluv, I kiss little B''s cheeks so much he''ll have the "are you done mom" look on his face and pushes me away.

Burk, How scary, I hope Tayva gets better soon and don''t have to be admit to the hospital. Sending bucket of get well dust your way. Keep us posted!

lili, little B''s pedi also prescribed hydrocortizone for him but I hate to use it on him and I just get this crazy idea and thought since lanolin worked on cracked nipple maybe it will help little B''s skin. Are we allow to post naked baby pics?

Lottie, lanolin work wonder on little B, I hope it will help Neve too.

So today is little B''s 9 months well baby check up. His status are:

WT: 16lb 9oz
HT: 27.5
HC: 44CM

I asked the pedi if he is off the chart on weight and he laughed and said "no, he is about 2% so he is hanging on...) Pedi said we''re doing everything right and little B is just the type of baby that doesn''t seem to be interested in eating. Still I feel kind of sad that he is this skinny...

Lottie, she just turned 12 months. Goes by fast!

Bobo, HOW SWEET! I bet it did make your heart melt. Oh I love Little B! Glad the Pedi is not worried about his weight.

So Tessa has started mimicking HARDCORE. She has the fisher price farm thing and I held up a sheep and said "sheep, baa baa" and she grabbed it and said "baaa!" Then I have a cow and said "cow, mooo mooo" and she grabbed it and said "mooo!" I couldn''t believe it! She didn''t do the other animals though. Haha. Also she actually put her play phone to her EAR! First time that has ever happened.

In other news I think it is slightly pathetic how excited I got today when I saved $50+ using coupons. Every bit helps no?

Jas, Co is indeed quite ahead with his pincer skills. In my babycenter update, I got a list of 7-12 month milestones and the pincer skills are a nine month thing apparently. Amelia is nowhere near it. Cute pic of Co! Bought some jeans for Amelia today so maybe soon I will post one.

As for naps (I saw your post on the preggo thread, which I think you meant to post here), Starting at 7 months, I started to put Amelia on a 2 nap schedule. I was fine keeping her on a 3 nap schedule until 9 months, but since she sleeps for 12 hours at night, I found that she really wasn''t up that long during the day. It took about 3 or 4 days to get her on the schedule. She still gets her morning nap at 9am, which is usually an hour, sometimes 1.5. We started pushing her noon nap to 12:30, then to 1pm which is where it is now. She naps for 1.5-2 hours on that nap and bedtime has been pushed up one hour to 6pm. We were able to utilize the clock turning back to help us a bit on that one.

And yeah, isn''t memory lane on PS fun? I am going to have to find a way to save all those posts. I read through them not long ago and it was so much fun - and yes, it seems like a lifetime ago.

Tacori, sorry you''re going through a rough patch. But with such a doll of a daughter like Tessa, I think I could manage it without drinking *too* much. Hehehe. And yes...she does look quite mature in that pic! Where''d your baby go??? And I agree...some dads just don''t get it. I WORK and take care of the kid and TGuy still doesn''t realize what an AMAZING woman I am.
3.gif

Burk, hehehe...good for you on the bag! Where''s the pics? Pneumonia!
23.gif
Hope Tayva feels better soon.

Puffy, that is very interested about the sourdough bread...would have never thought of that!

lili, hope the britax is better for J! I was at BRU today...where were ya?
41.gif
It still amazes me that J was crawling at 5 months. We are trying to stall Amelia as long as possible...will make for an easier flight to Oz.

Welcome Lottie! Your Neve is beautiful!

MrsM, I don''t have any problems posting. And I know what you mean about not always having a camera onhand. Even with my little canon, I find I just don''t always bring it everywhere. I hope to change that habit.

iluvcarats, awwww...they grow up so fast! I was looking at your pics and thinking, someday my baby pics of Amelia will look like ancient history.
39.gif

msb, so glad K is doing better with food! Actually thought of you today now that Amelia is doing so much better and wondered how your boy was doing as I remember that it was a bit tough for awhile.

Bobo, glad little B is still hanging on the chart! Don''t worry about him...he looks great and has the best cheeks on PS.
30.gif

As I mentioned, Amelia is eating better, so I''m thrilled. She really does love water and is getting better drinking out of a sippy. I bought some cups with straws, but I think that will be too advanced for her, so I won''t rush it. She is also as happy as Larry in the carseat.

In other news, my friend told me she decided to move her son back to rearfacing.
36.gif

burk-i''m so sorry to hear about tayva..poor thing. I hope she doesn''t have to go into the hospital..

bobo-so glad little b is doing well and no worries from your dr.

jas12- jake still does 3 naps a day. usually one at around 9:00 for an hour. I put him down for his second nap at 1:00 and it''s usually 2 hours and he sometimes takes a late afternoon 1/2 hour nap. his bedtime isn''t until 8:00.

tgal-i''d love to see pics of Amelia in her jeans, i bet she is adorable!

oppps---i posted this in the preggo thread by mistake (forgot i was searching thru that thread) and here i am making fun of my DH for not knowing how to use PS
3.gif
Thanks for the heads up Tgal!!
.........
Burk--My heart goes out to T. She has been thru it all. I really hope the antibiotics kick in fast! poor bug. Keep us posted.

Lottie--feeding sure is messy business, but so fun to watch. I wouldn''t worry too much about the utensils, that''ll happen eventually i am sure. Cute that neve wants to feed herself--an independent streak already

Bobo--Little B is a tiny thing but i am so glad he well. How precious that he gave u a kiss
Good idea with the lanolin, i''ll have to remember that.

MSB--yay for good eating. Must be a relief and make life soo much easier

Tacori--i''ve had a few of those days when i can''t wait to hand over the little monster. Not often, but enough to know how it feels to be trapped in the house wanting to pull your hair out. I think the terrible twos will be prime-time for that sentiment. Great that your DH gave u some sleep-in time.

Tgal--how''s the week going? is Amelia still taking a few naps a day? Co is showing signs of transitioning from 3 to 2 naps, wondering what the other 7 month olds are up to, and she is the gold standard ;-)

So Cohen had some looong naps today so i decided to finish my half a** pregnancy scrapbook. I went in search of my birth story i posted on here since it''s the only documentation i have and it was so neat to read over some of the posts from waaaay back. I remember joining around the time Tacori was due and reading about her anxiousness as her due date came and went (thinking that''ll probably never happen to me haha) and then Ella''s announcement that her water broke before the twins were born, and then of course Tgals dramatic and hilarious/touching/scary birth of Amelia while i waited, and waited. Then came the stealth birth of Jadelyn followed by the arrival of Jake and finally, 14 days late, my little Co. I had to laugh at the 4 repeat posts that Charlie put up while i was in the hospital (cuz he didn''t really know how PS worked) and then all the new moms who joined over the months. It was fun to take a trip down memory lane. It wasn''t even that long ago, but it feels like a lifetime away.

And on a totally unrelated note, i was helping a friend search for baby names and we were looking at the ''vital statistics'' for one of the canadian provinces and it turns out we are a trendy bunch! Quite a few of the PS baby names are on the ''most popular'' list. I saw Cohen, Amelia, Tessa, Kaitlyn, Gabe, Jake, Lili, Jade (but not Jadelyn)

Tgal and MrsS. --our kiddies seem pretty similar. Co goes down for his first nap 9ish, his second 12:30ish and then his last one 4:30ish. He goes to bed close to 8 and sleeps 11 hours. He is only waking once (maybe twice ) now, or on occasion, not at all, so i am slowly getting back to feeling %100 normal and revived-yay sleep!

Both J and A are on the sippy now, correct? do i just keep giving it to Co even tho he just plays with it? Not having much luck there.

MrsS. is jake still nursing at night?

Tgal--i want an Amelia jeans pic as well! (purdy pleeez)
As for the pincer, i think i am over feeding the poor kid cuz i love to watch him concentrate on tiny bits and the look of glee he gets when he gets the food in his mouth. Food is a huge motivator for that boy. cries *every* time i take away his bowl and spoon
40.gif

How is amelia doing with sitting. I don''t think Co will be playing in the sitting position for a long time. Maybe kids just really focus developing one area, or at least mine is (or unless their name is Jadelyn

Jas, Amelia is a sitter for sure. She LOVES to sit. I love to just leave her there surrounded by toys...and have her just stay in the same place. We had to "practice" with the sitting for about a week or so, but she caught on to that one pretty well.

Amelia is still on the bottle...I give her water in the sippy to practice. She doesn''t want to grab it herself but she loves to try drinking out of it. It mostly involves chewing on the nub at this point but she is getting better every day. Today she pretty much sucked at it.

Amelia was on a very similar schedule beforehand...naps at 9, 12, 3:30 and bedtime at 7. You can see why I thought it would be better to cut out a nap. All that kid did was sleep! Morning was an hour, midday 1.5 and afternoon for about 45 minutes, but it varied widely.

Co is a smart boy. I love food. I love good eaters!!! If Amelia is a picky eater, she has a tough road ahead of her...it''s a pet peeve of mine. But you can''t make a kid eat, so what can ya do...

And HOORAY for Co''s sleeping...and YOU sleeping too!

Thanks Puffy, iluvcarats, lili, Linda, Skippy, Tacori, Lotie, Bobo, Tgal, mrss, and Jas!!! I love that I can always count on you ladies for support and positive thougths and prayers!!

Tayva has had one dose of antibiotics, and 2 breathing treatments and is already coughing way less and her breathing is sounding better. She slept most of the afternoon (from 1-5) and then was up and in a pretty good mood, played for a short bit, ate, and went back to sleep. I''m hopefull that with another day of rest tomorrow and more meds, we''ll be able to avert a hospital trip and T will be back to herself soon!

Tacori~My DH doesn''t understand what it means to be a SAHM. It''s tough work. Some days are just loooongggg. Sounds like your DH gets extra points for letting you sleep in, though!! We''ll see what we end up with for an age gap. Our intent is to be around 2 years but who knows. I do think my friend is stressed and I''m not sure two in diapers sounds like a good time.
16.gif
How cute is it that Tessa is mimicking!! This is one of those times I wish we could post videos!! I would LOVE to see that!

msb~My friend and her DH weren''t really trying for the second but they were thrilled. I know my friend is a little stressed since her husband travels and she''s a SAHM. And, I''m no stronger than you-she was in bed with us last night!
3.gif

puffy~I think you whatever your circumstances are, you make it work. I know my friend is stressed at times, but she also has two beautiful boys and that makes the stress worth it! We''re hoping to do about 2 years apart. We''ll see what happens.

lili~When I called to tell daycare that T wouldn''t be back today or in tomorrow because she has pneumonia they were shocked because she''s still been so darn busy.
41.gif

Bobo~You''ve got a little guy with the best cheeks!! Sounds like you''re doing everything you can and he''s healthy. Who cares what the percentiles are.

Tgal~I''ll have to take a pic and post the new diaper bag. I plan to blame the purchase on you when DH figures it out!!

oh, and this will make you all want to scream: As I was leaving the parking lot of the pharmacy this afternoon, I see a car pull in with an infant in her carseat in the FRONT seat forward facing. Um, what are these people thinking?!?!? I called the police right then and there.

Haha Burk, of COURSE you can blame it on me...I don''t think your DH knows where to find me! However if I see a cute guy on a plane, I may ask him, excuse me, are you Burk''s DH and T''s dad?
41.gif

Wow...can''t believe the carseat thing...some people must just be completely in the clouds. My bro is a cop and he says cops have zero tolerance on that kind of thing. My bro is pretty easy going on letting people go but if he says he pulls someone over and a child is not in a proper seat installed the correct way he will absolutely issue a citation. So many officers have their own kids, they just can''t stand it when they see children in danger.

Glad Tayva is feeling better.

lottie yes, it is one BIG mess after they are done feeding themselves. but hopefully, those days are long gone for me. B loves his food so much that when he drops it in the seat, he will do all kinds of crazy twisting and turning to try to get his food out so he can eat it. and when he drops it on the floor, he will stare at it and point until either i or DH picks it up. it''s pretty funny.

tacori how cute!!! B mimics like crazy too. it''s so funny. i even have him doing the i don''t know look...2 arms up, shrugging shoulders, and head twisted to the side. it''s really cute. and he''s trying to tickle now too which is pretty cute. how was T today? better i hope. i hope you were able to get out of the house.

bobo eczema sucks!!! does little b ever get it on his face? does he have teeth? i hear it is supposed to get worse when they go through teething, but it didn''t happen with B. awww, kisses!!! i remember the first time B planted one on me....i cried!

msb glad to hear that little k is eating well!!! puffs are definitely a kid favorite! now they have them made with whole grain.

tgal glad to hear that A is loving food now! yeah, who knew sourdough bread?!!? but all kids are different. no kids i know had a reaction to sourdough bread. but i did give it to B around 7 months or so...probably on the early side! and you ARE an amazing woman
9.gif
i''m a SAHM and i couldn''t imagine how it would be if i worked also.

jas12 heehee, i always thought i was over feeding B too. but he just LOVES food. as long as he''s eating healthy things, which it sounds like he is, you should be ok.

burk hope T is getting better! it must be so hard for you and your DH.

B is learning so much. he knows to point to the sky when he hears the airplane, or when i ask him where''s the airplane. we live really close to the airport so we get a really good view of the planes taking off and landing. he knows the light, the car, and a bunch of stuff. i just can''t get over hoe quick e is picking stuff up. it really amazes me how smart kids are. all the mamas with younger kids, you guys are all in for a real treat!!! it is so much fun
2.gif
but i still miss my little baby.

Burk, poor T! I hope she gets better soon and doesn't have to go to the hospital.

QT, sorry you are feeling down about going back to work. I'm already dreading going back and I have a few more months to go.

Tacori, sorry you are going through a rough patch with Tessa. Sounds like she does some adorable things to make up for it though. Hang in there!

jas12, yay for Co sleeping through the night! Finally!

puffy, how scary about the sourdough bread incident! Gald B was okay! Sounds like B is doing great now. I can't wait to watch D learn. It's amazing how much they pick up.

Sorry, I know I'm missing some of you. I hope you and your little ones are doing well.

I've been short on time lately since D has decided to become very fussy lately. Nights were getting better but now they aren't so great. I'm not getting much sleep and am often frustrated. He doesn't want to be put down and likes to be held upright. It's been rough on DH too. He helps during the night (thank goodness! I am very grateful for that) but he ends up not getting much sleep so he goes to bed earlier, which means I'm alone caring for D more and we haven't had much time to spend together. I guess I'm starting to feel the strain a baby puts on a marriage/relationship. The lack of sleep is really starting to take its toll too. I know it'll be over soon! D is 7 weeks tomorrow so I'm hoping the worst is over very very very soon! There are some great moments mixed in there so of course that helps a little. Off to try and get some sleep. Good night!

Burk,

Hoping Tava feels all better soon!

MrsS. is jake still nursing at night?

jas, jake just plays with the sippy cup too. I just keep giving it to him. I also have a just a glass of water and give him sips out of a regular cup after he eats. he really likes drinking out of a cup. He does still nurse once or twice a night but I know he doesn't need it. I do it usually just to get him back to sleep quickly so he doesn't wake up my hubby who has been working crazy hours. yes, I am a human paci
20.gif
and just so tired that I don't try to get him back to sleep without it. He has been sleeping much better since his teeth came through and now that he's almost done with his antibiotic. I keep hoping as his sleeping gets better we'll eliminate it completely at night.

Jake loves to play sitting up too. I do the same thing as tgal and just put toys around him and he's content. when he gets bored he rolls onto his tummy and does the "worm" to get wherever he wants to go next.

burk- i'm glad tayva is doing better
36.gif

Oh Snlee, i feel for ya, i''ve truly been there. Now that i am finally out of it, 7 months later, i can say the words you don''t want to hear cuz it doesn''t help *now*: "it will get better''"
3.gif
I don''t think DH and i really had a relationship in the first 3 months (other than parenting tag-team) there is just no time or energy left for romance or even just a chat. I also found that babies have ''intimacy radar'' as soon as DH and I would sit down for a moment together, or snuggle in bed, Co would wake up. I think it''s some instinct or something to prevent other siblings
2.gif
. Hang in there hon (keep repeating "it WILL get better, it WILL get better")

Burk--great the T had some good rest yesterday, best thing for her i am sure (and good for mom as well!) hope the weekend is the recovery period she needs.

Tacori--mimicking is so adorable. Yep, wish we could see videos

Tgal--i can''t get Co to sit still. I think he can sit for a while , he just doesn''t want to. He throws himself on the ground and his mode of transportation is rolling. He spots something across the room (usually a piece of lint on the floor or something--weirdo) and just rolls to get there. Very funny to watch. I''ll try what you do and surround him in toys first.
As for picky eaters. Last night i just read in my baby cook book that kids can often get picky or more eager around 10 mos and that the first few months of solids are not really indicative of their long-term preferences. So no worries. I am like you, will have trouble tolerating pickiness, but what can u do other than keep offering?!

Puffy--must be amazing to watch B absorb stuff so quickly. Little sponges. Are u capturing some of it on video? I always forget to use mine.

I miss you guys!! I wish I had more time to write, but life with two toddlers is b-u-s-y!! I love checking in on you all though and seeing how all my other babies are coming along
2.gif

Jas, isn't it crazy/cool to look back at earlier posts from your pregnancy/first days of being a new mom?? I like to do that too!

Puffy, I keep forgetting to say that B is just two days younger than G and K, so it's fun for me to read what he's up to. Always fun to "know" kids the same age!

Lottie, welcome!! Neve is gorgeous, and I love her name! K's got BIG BLUE eyes too, and *everyone* always comments on them. Neve must get that all the time too with those stunners!

Hugs to Tessa, Tayva, Co, Jake, the Amelias, Derek, Meena, Jadie, James, Phillipa, Brady, little B, little K, Delaney, Chloe, Ian, and anyone else I may be missing!! OH, like Jackson and Logan and Sophie and Marina!!

ETA: and Lucy and Lily! And Coby! And MissPinky's little baby, whose name is escaping me at the moment ...

Ella--We miss you too! I was looking at the twin''s first pics while taking my trip down PS memory lane yesterday. OMG they were so teeny and now they are toddlers
6.gif
craziness!

gotta run, the monster has awoken and i am taking him out in the blustery weather, should take a good 1/2 hour to get us all dressed but the new
''Food and Drink'' mag is out (for all you canadians) so it warrants a walk down to the liquor store for a bottle of wine and the best free magazine around.

have a good weekend mommies

Thank Tacori, I think the pedi feel powerless regarding little B not eating much. Because he is older now, we can't force him to eat. He'll push the food away, slap us (yea, slap DH on the face) put up the face like he is ready to vomit etc.

Thanks TGal, we just wish he will eat more so he can build up his immune system. His Kawasaki really freak out both side of grandma. He is being treated like a glass ornament by all the Aunts and Uncles. We get so scare now when he sneeze and cough...

Thanks MrsS, I think our pedi feel the same way as we feel. Powerless.

Thanks Jas12, I was shocked when he gave me a kiss...then so much emotion runs thru my mind...Don't worry about over feeding, just be happy that you have a eater on your hand, better than a non-eater like little B.

Thanks Burk, we don't really care about the percentiles, we just hope he eats more so he can build up his immune system. Hope Tayva feel better soon!! Glad you call the cops, what are those people thinking??

Puffy, little B never had eczema on his face, just on the legs. He got one tooth popped out and working on the second one next to it. The doctor show us yesterday that he is also working the two teeth on the top. It didn't happen with little B either plus now the lanolin make him all smooth and soft. So much emotion went thru my mind when he kissed me...no word can describe.

snlee, hang in there...first 3 months was the toughest for us. We have to put our relationship in the back burner and it was hard. We fought so much because we were too tired, no time for each other, we were just trying to survive little B. But it gets better.

Hi Ella! We miss ya~ hugs to you too!!

ETA: don't know why the bottom half post is in bold. stupid Mac.

Thanks Ella, most people comment on her eyes then look to see if she gets them from me. Mine are green, as are my husbands - bizzarely they come from my twin sister!

How old are your toddlers? very cute!

Bobo
-glad to hear that little b is hanging on the chart
5.gif

don''t worry too much about it. both my nieces were below the chart, but they are as fit as can be.
the important thing is that he''s healthy and growing.
-haha, i don''t know about completely nekkid pictures.

-yeah, it is much easier if the baby is not as mobile when traveling. when are you guys going to Oz?
DH and i are not looking forward to our trip to HI, which will either be the end of the year for the beginning of next.
don''t know how to keep J content for 5+ hours in a confined space.
-ooo....Amelia in jeans? i wanna see. also, i''d like to see her sitting and playing with her toys too.

-woohoo for Co sleeping through the night.
i''m still nursing J at night. it''s more a necessity for me at the moment because she''s not getting enough to eat during the day.
i probably should stop the night-time feeding so that she''ll be so hungry during the day and eat more then.
-strolling down memory lane on PS is fun. it''s weird, it seems like such a long time ago and also like it was just yesterday at the same time.
i admit, i scroll back to reread some of the posts and also to look at all the little kiddies when they were teeny tiny.
plus all those preggo pictures are so fun to see. i still remember your 40+ pix at the beach -- did you get that framed?
-Co does love his food huh? perhaps you can use that as incentive to get him to crawl
