Tacori, yea, I''ll believe it when I see it too. I think it''s too good to be true.

TGal, if it comes too late you can always just return it at Target. It makes me angry thinking about all those people buying them to resell and make a profit!

TGal, it's been up awhile. You would think their server would see this (after hundreds of orders were SUDDENLY being put through) and seems unfair for them not to fulfill them if it is their error but like you this is a second car seat for us so not a big deal if I don't get it. I am happy with our roundabout. If it does go through it is a deal of a lifetime. They are FSA approved so would be perfect for your flight!
Yup...we'll see if TGuy wants to haul it to and from Australia. Or we could use it to cart friends' kids around. For $40 bucks, I will find uses for it.

If it was just this one seat, I'd think it was an error, but the cow print too?

People are buying 3 or 4 seats in order to resell them. That's so wrong. But we are a capitalist (heading socialist, hehehe) country after all.

ETA Snlee, just saw your post - obviously I agree about the reselling. They are ruining it for the people who could really use the seat. We have two cars so we could technically use it, except our car is a mustang. But my mom does need a carseat for her and I was waiting for a good deal.

Just saw on a babycheapskate comment that a person is on the phone with Target who said it''s an error and they won''t be honoring it.

Anyone wanna bet that it was suppsed to be $242 for the granite and $259 for the cowmoo?

That''s what I think too.

The links are down now.

Boo.

update, they''ve taken it off...you can still see the price but can''t order it.

We''ll see. Target.com is going to have a lot of bummed moms if it doesn''t pan out. It would be nice if they honored it, even if meant allowing only one per order or something like that. Even TGuy thought it was a good idea to buy it at that price when we JUST threw out our blvd box because it was taking up too much space in the house.

Hey Tgal- It would be really lame if Target does not honor the price- Don''t they have to honor it? If we all have our confirmation emails it seems like they should. If they have to take the sale back, I agree they should honor at least one per family. We bought two and it does seem like it was too good to be true. Ah we will see.

I think somewhere on the site it says they reserve the right to cancel if there is a pricing error. Not uncommon unfortunately. I figure they give us 30 days to return if we buy something in error, so it isn''t all that crazy to give them the right to cancel if they are going to lose money hand over fist. I will be very impressed with them if the do honor our orders though!

Yeah I agree it would be good to see them honor the price and probably generate a lot of good feelings/lots of future shopping for target, so in the end, maybe more profits for target?
I am so curious how it will turn out and can''t believe the buzz this is generating here and on other sites too!!!

I''m only reading on babycheapskate, but I think Tacori said it''s all over the web?

Yes, it''s all over the web. If you google "Britax Marathon 42.99" you''ll see tons of people know about it. Slickdeals has a long thread about it.

Latest from callers is that target is going to cancel all orders, even the ones that say "processed." I don''t expect them to lose money over this, but it would be a pretty nice PR move if they did.

I''m off to trader joe''s, where every price is nice.

Be back later to comment on all the posts, and thanks to those who posted this deal regardless of whether or not it was too good to be true. Nice to know we watch out for each other on the good deals!

That''s a bummer for the moms who ordered. When I saw the deal on babycheapskate and check amazon, the pricing was already back to $200 something (I didn''t get on the computer until late afternoon though). I am sure Target will cancel all those orders. At $200 a pop, that''s a lot of money to lose.

I got a fever late afternoon yesterday, and I had been in bed the whole last night and today. I couldn''t hold any food down, so I just slept and DH woke me up when it''s time to feed M. DH took care of her. I am finally feeling better now. The whole time I was thinking that at least M is getting the antibodies for whatever I got, so she won''t get sick.

lili
That''s basically what DH said too. Kiddie ****.

puffy
Have fun in Disneyland.

Burk
Great that Tayva is doing better. You''ve get a good daycare.

Tacori
Awww Tessa much be a doll when she was "flirting". hehe

real quick,,,(as I can''t edit my previous post)

Burk: Just had to say i am sorry about little T!!!! Im glad to hear that she is feeling a little better and hope that shes on the road to a full recovery soon...big hugs to you and T....

Tacori: i started laughing when i heard that T was giggling in her crib..soooo cute!!!

Wow, look at all the carseat madness I missed this weekend

. That would have been an unbelievable deal, but when i saw that posted initially and saw the usual retail price, my first thought was " 80% off during economic downturn-->what''s the catch?" bummer. If i were the PR rep from Target i would issue everyone an online gift card for the holiday season. Even if they could financially honor those 1000''s of carseats, i am sure they will not have them in stock.

more later--house is in shambles and i told myself no ''fun stuff'' like PS until it is cleaned up!

Hi Everyone!!! Just a quick drive by. Sorry I''ve been delinquent but this time it wasn''t my fault!! I''ve had internet problems for over a week and FINALLY got it fixed. I have to go back and read everyone''s updates but I did skim over quickly and want to send good wishes to Burk and Tayva. Hope T''s doing better.

In my news, Lucy turned 7 weeks old on Friday and her gift to us is that she''s sleeping through the night!!!!! She''s been going down at 8:30, wakes up at 3:30 to eat and then back down again until 7! She''s done this for the past 3 nights so I hope it''s not just a fluke!! We actually moved her out of our room last week too and I''m so much happier. She was just too noisy. I almost feel like she could have been STTN even earlier but as soon as I heard a sound, I would jump up and feed her before she was totally awake. It''s a much better set up now and we''re all happy!!! She''s also been smiling and cooing at me and I swear it makes my heart melt. I have to admit that I didn''t bond as quickly with Lucy as I did with Lily but just like TGal experienced, once we hit that 6 week mark and she started "interacting" with me, I don''t feel like she''s such a stranger anymore. Lily has been a star. She is just such a good helper, can follow directions and is behaving better than I ever expected her to. That''s not to say that she doesn''t still have tantrums but they''ve become less frequent lately. She is totally into books these days which is great and can even identify her favorites by name--Hop on Pop (sounds like Ha Papa in Lilyspeak) and Go Dog Go (aka GO GO!). She also loves "gokies" (cookies), the colors loo and lello (blue and yellow), she talks in her sleep about Elmo and she runs around the apartment saying her name over and over again!! She''s such a trip!!!

I have a question for btdt moms about potty training. What kind of potty do you recommend we start out with? It''s very obvious to me when Lily has pooped so I will ask her, "Did you poop?" and she will point to her butt and say "poop". She doesn''t tell me before she does it but she definitely knows after she''s done it! Our pediatrician said to go ahead and get her a potty just so she can get used to the idea, even if she just sits on it to hang out and watch tv! I just don''t know what kind to get so I''m looking for suggestions.

Anyway, hope everyone is doing well. I''ll be back later after I catch up!

Re Target: It will be interesting how they handle it. It would be great if they honored it but I doubt it. It is a shame reselling is so easy. I am surprised I haven''t already gotten an e-mail from target anyone else?

Msb, that girl cracks me up. DH decide to teach her how to high five and claps/cheers when she does it. She squeals with delight. She love getting praise and praise from her daddy seems to be the ultimate reward for her. She also will shake things when we tell her. So funny. Cute picture of K. He has the best hair!

Curly, glad Lucy is sleeping for you guys. That makes all the difference. Lily sounds adorable as always!

Jas12, a GC would be a smooth move on their part. I will not take it hard either way but a lot of moms probably will. Competition is tough at big box stores.

Delurking to say that no I haven't gotten a cancellation either. And the people who have called seem to be getting differing answers. What annoys me is the vultures I have seen on other websites who ordered 20-30 to resell. I really hope that they decide to honor the price for small orders...but I doubt it unfortunately.

It would be a really big savings for regular families! For us it would be a $400 savings since we need 2.

Baby Cheapskate says some are shipping some aren''t....on another board a lady who ordered the cow print said she got an e-mail saying her''s shipped.

We shall see.

LOL that ebay listing is funny. It''ll be interesting to see how Target handles this. I''m surprised they haven''t sent anything out yet.

msb, aww little K is adorable. So sweet he''s showering you guys with hugs and kisses!

curly, glad to hear Lucy is STTN and smiling! Hopefully D follows in her footsteps really soon! Lily sounds adorable! Glad to hear things are going well!

I just checked my Target order and it disappeared. I think they canceled my order without contacting me, which makes me a bit angry. I understand if the price was an error but canceling your order without notifying you? Not cool!

Just commented on your post in the preggo thread, but yeah...mine is still there but I know it will be cancelled shortly. All orders seem to be slowly cancelled.

Over the weekend I remembered seeing an Oprah show a few years ago about the secret language of baby cries.

Here''s the jist of it.

Neh = "I''m hungry"
Owh = "I''m sleepy"
Heh = "I''m experiencing discomfort"
Eair = "I have lower gas"
Eh = "I need to burp"

These "words" are sound reflexes babies make from 0-3 months old. Parents should listen for these words in a baby''s pre-cry before they start crying hysterically.

DH and I paid more attention to D''s cries over the weekend and even though sometimes it''s hard to tell what "word" he''s saying or which "word" is dominant, we believe it is useful.

Thought I would mention it here. Hopefully this helps some new mommies!

That''s that dunstan (or her name is something like that) baby language stuff, right? I saw the DVD. Amelia never once made those sounds. All her noises sounded like:

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Suffice it to say, I never bothered any more with those DVDs.
