He''s not an agent, he is what might be termed a "flipper" but it''s nothing like what it looks like on TV (that''s a piece of what he does, anyways). You ask a good question, one I never have asked him but my guess would be he doesn''t want the liability of acting as the agent and the seller and he has no interest in being an agent for anyone else so obtaining a license wouldn''t be worthwhile.Date: 11/18/2008 12:06:46 AM

Thanks Kimberly. Curious...why wouldn''t he represent himself?Date: 11/17/2008 11:14:02 PM

Yes, yes, yes. My husband has been in the RE business for 12+ years and he still uses an agent, even though she calls him to ask questions and his opinion on her sales.Date: 11/17/2008 11:07:02 PM

So I know you aren''t a realtor now, but I''m interested in your (or anyone else''s opinion). Is it always best for a first time buyer to have an agent?
Sorry for the threadjack mommas....
It certainly doesn''t hurt to throw your hat in the ring, you never know what contigencies and such others will include in their offer that could make yours be the best option for the seller. Lots of luck to you!
