pave it really is a tough choice. even before i got preggo, i wasn''t working. i stopped working right before we got married and when i did get preggo, DH and i talked about it. and WE decided that i would be a SAHM. it was the right decision for US. we are living comfortably off DH''s wages and we are able to give B everything that he needs and everything that i think he wants. haha. i admit some days, i was ready to go back to work at a drop of a dime, and yes sometimes it does get lonely. but luckily, i have friends with kids and we keep each other company. but i would not give up any of those bad days and i know there will be a lot more bad days to come. but with 1 smile of 1 kiss, i forget it all and i love what i do. i would not change what i do for anything in the world, as corny as that sounds, it is true. if you don''t stay home longer, who will care for tyler, day care or relative?

tacori yes, thank you so much for convincing me to FINALLY take B to the gym with me. who would have known? even DH was surprised. when i told him i was taking B to the gym, he laughed. haha. m&m''s sound like a bad idea just because like you said the color rubbing off and getting everywhere. i am hoping that her teeth come in soon. B''s working on more molars!! but they aren''t too bad YET.

DD
Glad BF is getting better for you. I don''t have any advices as I am one of the few lucky ones that didn''t have any issues.

Maybe D is teething.

Hi
35.gif
to everyone else. It''s just been too many posts for me to respond to.

M can fall asleep by herself now (since Tues). No more crying.

Here''s a funny pic of M.

M_n_fishie.jpg

QT M is SO CUTE in that picture! How did these babies get so big already...

Puffy, B looks so OLD in your AV. Seriously! A toddler! The color did come off but luckily came out in the wash. So I guess it wasn''t a total disaster. I think I am going to go to the gym the afternoon with my neighbor and her kids. Maybe that will help T since she the twins will be in the same room as her. I guess 18 months is usually the HEIGHT of seperation anxiety. T HAS always been an overachiever when it comes to stuff like that
20.gif
She''ll be 16 months next week. I tried to look back there when DH was tickling her and didn''t see anything but a whole lotta swollen gums. Poor thing.

Q, that is AWESOME news that M has been putting herself to sleep! I swear life gets easier once they "Get" that. She is so adorable! Thanks for the new pic. And you are right, you are lucky in regards to BFing. VERY LUCKY! Enjoy it
2.gif

Just wanted to say Happy Friday!

Pave, I will reply to your going back to work question and QT, M is getting so big! Yay for putting herself to sleep!

be back in a bit to get properly caught up.....

pave~I work part-time. It''s the perfect combination for us. We could afford for me to stay at home, but chose not to for a variety of reasons: I''m a teacher so I get the summers off, I value my career and think teachers make a difference, I enjoy getting up every morning and getting ready, I enjoy the adult interaction, Tayva gets to be around someone besides me to play with (she''s super social so this is HUGE for her), we can live the way we''ve always lived (going out to dinner when we choose, drive nice vehicles and most importantly are building a house). I use the money I make for groceries, Tayva''s wardrobe
2.gif
, fun stuff for myself (manis and pedis I would NEVER do if we were living on DH''s salary), and I pay a couple bills with my salary too. I was so sad about going back to work at first, but now I''m so glad that I did. Sure there are days I''d rather spend with Tayva, but overall I feel we made the best decision for us. My BF from highschool has a 16 mon-old and is a nurse. She works 2- 12 hour shifts a week and she LOVES it. She''s still able to be home with her son, but also has the extra money and feels like she''s contributing. Good luck with your decision. Whatever you do, I know you will make the best decision for your family!!

DD~Glad things are going well!

puffy~I''m so glad that you decided to give the gym daycare a try. Sounds like B is doing awesome! He does say a lot of words for his age! Speaking of old, I totally agree with Tacori, B looks like he''s 4 in your avatar!!

Tacori~That is so funny about the M&M''s!! I will get a sizing bar for sure if we do the Bev K. I''m kicking around the idea of inside out earrings right now....I think my jewelry brain is ADD!! I can''t stay focused.
20.gif
Oh, and I think the separation anxiety does heighten a little bit later. There are 5 kids all around the same age (14-17 mo)at T''s daycare and they ALL seem to be going through a bit more separation anxiety right now! The care takers have to take T and hold her and play with her when I leave which NEVER used to happen. She used to walk right over to the toys and her friends and play, play, play.

QT~Yay for M!! Cute pic!

qt YAY for M putting herself to sleep. it must be so much easier for you guys now. and what a cute pic of M.

tacori i know, he does look old!! no more little boy look. i hope T has an easier time at the gym today with kids she knows. the funny thing is that B is still super attached to me when it comes to certain things, like if DH went to get him in the morning, he would flip out and once he sees me, he''s happy as can be, or when he goes to bed, if DH says good night after me, i have to go back in there to for kisses and to say good night again or he''ll go crazy. weird!!! poor T with all her swollen gums, but hopefully she''s still happy as can be.

burk booo hooo!!! i know B looks so old, and he''s tall too so when we go out, people think he''s a lot oder than he really is, esp with his walking and his talking all the time. are you guys building your house? that''s so awesome!!! how is T doing? didn''t want to thread hijack your thread, but DH got me a hermes bag and wallet for my birthday, but the bag won''t be in for a bit. and for our anni, he agreed that it can be some sort of jewelry. so i am super excited. there''s been a ring that i have been kinda eying, but we''ll see. have fun at your jewelers on saturday!!!

Ditto!

puffy~Seriously, I bet B could pass for a 2 year- old! People are probably surprised all the time when you tell them how old he is! Tayva is tall for her age, but that's about it: she doesn't have all her front teeth and doesn't say many words. So exciting about your bag and wallet! Are you thinking about a stacking ring? I am excited to go to the jewelers...although I may end up more confused than ever!
16.gif

burk yeah, when we go out with one of our friends, who have a 23 month old, people think that B is older than him just because B is taller and talks way more than the other kid, but not because the other kid doesn''t know the words, but because he chooses not to talk when ever we are out. funny kid. i am so excited about my bag, but have to wait for 2 months....it''s going to be a long 2 months. i really want to get another eternity band, in the higher cts weight, like 6-8 but i think it will be a bit much. i have a 5 ct one that i NEVER wear because it feels to be a bit much. i still have some time, so hopefully i''ll decide. what do you guys have planned for your birthday?

Puffy~Two months? That seems like a long time, but it''ll be here before you know it I''m sure! When you do wear your eternity ring, do you wear it with your e-ring? I''m starting to second guess getting a ring....just because I''m not sure if I''d end up wearing it often. I have my e-ring and wb on my left hand and I guess I could stack it with T''s ring. I don''t know. Now I''m starting to think of lever back earrings. I have studs that I wear daily but I''m thinking lever backs of just drops might nice. Seriously, I''m all over the place!

burk haha, you ARE all over the place. but it''s good to be all over the place to make sure you get what you really want. i have so many rings that i really don''t wear that eternity band much. i usually wear my wedding band and ering on the left, and right, i wear my B ring (sapphire and diamond eternity band), a bev k sapphire and diamond eternity band, a plain diamond eternity ring all on the ring finger, and sometimes, i wear a smaller eternity band on my thumb, but rarely. the eternity band i wear all the time is 3 cts, my B ring is 4 cts and the bev k ring is pretty thin, so i use that kinda like a spacer. but when i do wear the 5 ct eternity band, i wear it alone cause if i stack it, it becomes too uncomfortable to wear.
i think lever backs would be gorgeous and a change for fancy nights out. i hope you see something that really makes you jump when you go to your jewelers.
oh, and i have been on the waiting list for the bag for over 6 months, so it seems like forever!!! but they say i SHOULD have it in mid-may, hopefully.
wow, sorry for the long reply.

puffy~I''m worried I wouldn''t wear the stacker enough and it would just collect dust in my jewelry box!
3.gif
I posted a couple pics of earrings I like in my thread over in jewelry. Take a look and let me know what you think! 6 months and you''re almost there....you better post pics!!

Lily and Lucy just wanted to say hi! Lucy has totally regressed with her sleep, waking up 2-3 times to eat even though we''ve started rice cereal and she loves it. It''s annoying because she goes down without a fight but after she wakes up, she wants to be held to go back to sleep. UGH, she''s 5 months old, this shouldn''t be happening! So I''m baffled there and hoping it will pass quickly. Lily is just being Lily. Her latest phrases include, "Lucy big girl cereal", "I need ______ " (fill in the blank, usually something like water, milk, cookie, etc), "mommy, help!" and our favorite "I pretty"--she just learned this one at daycare where she gets her hair done in very elaborate styles every day!!

So things are hectic at home and at work but I''m surviving! We''ve decided to stay put in our apartment for a while so in the midst of every other thing going on in my life, I''m working on a mortgage refinance and then looking for a contractor to put up a wall so the girls can have a room. Never a dull moment, right?! Just wanted to pop in and say hello and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the photos!! Hope everyone''s doing well! Miss you all!!

Thanks Ladies for your encouragement! Just want to share with you guys that little B took some shaky steps on his own last night...so exciting!

Pavelover, I had the same struggle. I stayed home with little B for almost two months and in the end I couldn''t wait to go back to work. I guess I''m not really a SAHM type. It''s really hard work, I salute to all the SAHM. Plus financially it will be tight for us so I went back to work.

DD, yeah on Hunter gaining weight!

Qtiekiki, M is so cute! yeah on M fall asleep by herself.

puffy, can''t wait to see your bag and wallet.

Burk, will hop over to check out the earrings later!

Curly, the girls are sooooo cute! Love Lucy''s cheek and her little *beer* belly

Hello mommies!!! I''m new to this thread and I''m looking for some advice. My 2 yr old daughter seems to be existing on PB sandwiches, any kind of cracker, milk and water. She used to at least eat fruit and chicken but lately she won''t touch it. I know most toddlers go through a picky phase but I''m hoping some of you ladies will have some recommendations!

Burk, I posted my new idea in your jewelry thread. Eek! Whatever you decide is so exciting. Not sure when the next time I will get jewelry is. Probably for my 30th (1.5 away. Haha!) Glad to know that she is normal (with her separation issues).

puffy, I didn''t go to the gym. I was feeling SO sick that I took a nap instead!
3.gif
Luckily T was tired too. T''s favorite person is my DH for sure. She gets sooooo excited to see him. Of course he loves it b/c sometimes it''s hard b/c he has to sneak out of the house. Such a daddy''s girl. Though she could care less who puts her to bed or gets her in the morning. Sounds like you have a mama''s boy. Haha. She seems to be in a good mood so maybe they don''t hurt as much as how painful they look.

curly, your girls are SO cute! Lily looks so old (in a good way). Glad you can make your apartment work for you. How are NYC''s housing prices? Did the bubble pop a bit? How is the promotion going?

Bobo, yay little B! He is TOTALLY on track!

luv, my girl is picky when it comes to table foods. Luckily she will still eat baby food. Can you sneak anything in the PB sandwiches like ground spinach or something? I know they make those sneaky chef books. Have you talked to her pedi? I don''t think there is a way to FORCE her to eat things she doesn''t. What about those gumi vitamins? I probably wouldn''t worry about it but then again I am probably too laid back. Good luck and welcome to our little haven!

puffy
OMG, B looks like a preschooler in that avi! but still very cute and handsome.
I would never have guessed that he just celebrated his 1st bday.
J is doing great. She's acclimated to daycare and is really enjoying her time there.
Cold is somewhat gone -- no runny or stuffy nose, just some mucuous.
And she's as bratty as can be
32.gif

I think it's time to enforce some disciplinary actions
41.gif

Burk
Love the Jake story.
Kids and pets are so cute together.
I have to say, I'm still swooning over your ering

Tacori
Hehe, maybe not that small. But when they are an infant, they are all about the same size especially when they are bundled up in the blanket.
Unless of course if they are over 8 lbs :P You know, I've heard from people saying that the second one is way way easier than the first
2.gif

ETA: Yay for no more bottles!

lili, I hope, really hope the second one IS easier than T!!! Otherwise I am done for sure!
2.gif
How''s little miss J doing?

curly~The girls are sooo cute! I can''t believe how big Lucy is getting and Lily...oh my, those phrases make me giggle! Sounds like things are busy, busy!

luvmyhalo~Welcome! Tayva is a super picky eater lately too (she''s 13 months) but like Tessa she will still eat baby food. I second the idea to try some of the recipes to hide the stuff that''s good for you. Also, I know you can''t force her to eat, but have you tried "rewarding" her with the PB sandwich? So for example maybe she has to eat 3 bites of a banana before she gets the sandwich?

Tacori~I think the reason I''m so all over the place about my gift is because it''s been a while since I''ve gotten jewelry (T''s birth) and it''ll probably be a while until the next jewelry purchase (next baby birth) that I don''t want to blow it!
41.gif
Sorry you weren''t feeling well today! Naps are good!

lili~Kids and pets are so sweet. I''m so scared for the day our poor dog dies (he''s 14!!). Tayva''s getting old enough that she is going to be devastated!
7.gif
Thanks for the sweet compliment on my e-ring. I love it dearly.

DH is at the rosary for the friend of his whose dad passed away last week. I wasn''t able to go because we didn''t have a babysitter. Funeral is tomorrow morning and since we have a sitter we''re going to the jewelry store after that. Kind of hard to be excited about jewelry shopping!

burk i''m sure what ever you decide on will be stunning. i doubt that i will get a ring for my anni just cause i have too many and some never get worn. it''s so tough to be excited for the purse of my dreams when i have been waiting SO long, and i don''t even get to use it on my birthday! what kind of bday gift is that?!?!

tacori haha, B is a total mam''s boy!! but i admit it, i LOVE it. haha. there are times when DH will try to take B and he will shake his head scream NO at DH and run to me. it is the funniest thing. but i don''t rub it in. i guess it''s because he spends all day with me, but who knows. sorry you were feeling sick. are you better now?

bobo YAY for little B!!! that''s so great. had he been cruising for a long time?

lili haha, i know he looks way too old. B is a total brat as well and he finally started to listen to me when i tell him No!! but i have to be stern and with him, it''s so hard because he knows he is in trouble and will go to the end of the earth to make my laugh and smile. i think he knows what he''s doing. haha. WHAT?!?! her cold is not gone yet? oh my...poor girl.

luvmyhalo B''s almost 15 months and starting to get picky with food. but as long as i give it to him to eat himself, he will eat ALMOST everything that i give him. have you tried to put pureed fruit, like bananas, in the sandwich? hmmm, not sure what else. are there any fruits that she likes or veggies?

Thanks Tacori, hope your not getting sick.

luvmyhalo, little B is a picky eater but he love fruit and veggies but not protein or cracker or puffs. He is a weird one. I was just posting in another thread telling Burk about how I saw your blue topez ring from I.D. jewelry (fell in love with it) and ordered one my self which just arrived yesterday.

Burk, sorry to hear about the friend''s father. Hope you will have fun shopping tomorrow. Just posted some pix of the ring over at the other thread.

Thanks Puffy, he had been crusing around for a while now...can''t believe we''ll be chasing him around pretty soon.

Good news! Hunter gained 3oz in 2 days and is now 8lb 4oz, only three oz. from birth weight. And my milk came in!
36.gif

We have been exclusively breastfeeding for the last 12 hours and it is much easier and is going really well! I''m still pumping since we rented the farm grade bovine milker for 10 days
20.gif
and having a little frozen stockpile will be nice, but so far things are going great!

Thanks for all your support, this ends my stream of selfish posts... for now

So glad things are going well for you DD!!! Hunter is adorable!!

hi DD just wanted to say that is great news on your little one''s weight gain and breastfeeding success! Keep up the good work! I agree it''s much easier than dealing with the bottles/pump etc. It must be a big relief for you, too!

Thanks Lorelie and Pave!

Pave How is Tyler doing? I wondered whether he will need more follow-up for his heart or is is basically all done and he is fit ans a fiddle?

Burk I''m sorry about your hubby''s friend''s dad... I haven''t looked at your jewelry thread, I''ll have to head over and check it out!

Puffy I agree, B looks like a little man in that picture!

Tacori 1.5 years until 30, eh? You are still a young ''un!
3.gif

NF and DD
I know... what happened to my little baby.

Tacori
Yeah it IS a lot easier now that she GETS it. Naptime is a struggle, but I''m ok with that.

Burk
I haven''t check your jewelry thread yet, but hope you decide on something fabulous.

Puffy
B does look very mature in his avatar. He looks like he could be 4. Very cute.

Curly
Awww Lily and Lucy are so adorable. They look alike. Lucy has a cute buddha belly.

Bobo
Yay for little B taking steps.

DD
Great news that your milk came in & BFing is getting easier.

Remember when I told u ladies about our cousin who gave birth to twin girls @ 21 weeks... well she just gave birth to a baby boy Thurs morning. He is 8 weeks early at 4lbs 4oz and 17in. He is in NICU and doing well. And we are really happy for our cousin.

I am so behind! Here's my attempt to catch up.

DD, I know I am late, but I breastfed and bottle-fed and had no problems at all. Due to jaundice, D lost 13% of his weight so he had to be supplemented with a bottle of formula and the small amount of breast milk I was able to pump when he was less than a week old. Once he was in the clear, I solely breastfed and had no issues (except for clogs!). A few weeks later, we used a bottle every so often, so I could build up a freezer stash. During the day he's bottle fed now and when I'm home I breastfeed. No problems. Don't worry!

TACORI, that's great! No more bottles!

JANINE, I love this stage too! It gets more fun everyday! First foods are fun!

PAVE, so glad Tyler is doing better at BFing. And that's great you have some help a few hours a week. The decision to return to work or not is extremely hard. You and your DH have to decide what's best for your family. That's interesting pumping too long can lead to an infection. The longest I pump is about 30 minutes so I don't think that's too long.

QT, M is so cute! No teeth for D yet. Yay for M falling asleep by herself! How did you get her to do that? You stopped doing CIO right? Congrats to your cousin! Hope baby boy gets to go home soon. What happened to your cousin’s twins? I recall one of them passed away. Did the other one pull through?

PUFFY, I saw you started a thread of your jewelry collection awhile ago but I think you should start another one. I'd love to see more pictures! I'm sure you have some new pieces too. Sounds gorgeous!

CURLY, your girls are so cute! Sorry to hear about Lucy's sleep regression. Hope it's just a fluke!

Sleep update - D is still co-sleeping with us. We've been trying to get him to sleep in his crib and sleep on his own. For the last two nights we've placed him in his crib at night. Tried CIO but he can cry for over an hour! It is heartbreaking! A few times he has fallen asleep on his own after crying but he doesn't sleep long. Last night, in a period of 2 hours, he sleep for about 30 minutes and the rest of the time he was crying. We tried comforting him but it didn't help much. It was time for another feeding, so I nursed D then placed him in our bed at 10pm and DH and I feel asleep quickly since we were exhausted. We all woke up at 6am. DH and I were confused and realized D had fallen asleep by himself and slept for 8 hours straight! D is doing well sleeping through the night. After I nurse him in the middle of the night, he goes back to sleep by himself. We are having difficulty getting him to sleep on his own and transitioning him to his crib. Hopefully he learns to self soothe soon.

In other news, it was D's first day in his big boy Britax Marathon car seat and Maclaren Quest stroller. I took a nice walk with D in his new Maclaren today. He loved it! He was so comfy in there he slept for an hour. The Britax car seat is HUGE! Even though it say minimum of 5 pounds, I can't see a newborn in there.

puffy, forgot to say B looks adorable in your new avatar! He looks so old!
