Oh and Ella, again...

I bathed D in an inflatable tub I got for $6 at BRU when she outgrew her infant tub...I used to do it on the floor until she started splashing to beat the band. Now I just put her in the tub with Jake. I fill it with just a few inches like Mrs.S and they love it. But she''s sitting, standing, cruising, walking holding onto stuff, so she''s a wildwoman.

I also don''t bathe my kids that much. 3 times a week unless they are dirty..(which is all the time for D right now, so she''s almost on dailies, but her poor skin can''t handle that much bathing, she''s sooo sensitive and dry)

Funny bathing story..so I had to get D clean, and I needed a shower, so I took her in with me (I have a ginormous walkin). Well she had fun playing on the floor (I have those individual river stones on my floor, so it looks cool) and really liked it.

So the other day, DH took a shower & I had him take Jake in with him. A few minutes later I hear pounding and SCREAMING! I went into the bathroom & Delaney was screeching her head off, on her knees, and pounding the glass shower door trying to get dh & jake to let her in. She was PI$$ED. so funny.

Yeah, I was also thinking of an inflatable tub - I think I''ve heard good things about some duck one?

Diver, you look like you''ve got the perfect hair for that cut. I''m so envious of your hair!! Funny how sometimes once you''ve made the big cut from long to mid-length, you find yourself wanting to go even shorter. I do that too. But now I think that shoulder length is the best for me. I think my current length isn''t working for me (my face is too long) and loooong hair just drags too much. Ah well. Live and learn.

I seriously have taken about a hundred photos of my haircut, and I hate how I look in all of them. So to cheer me up, I''m posting photos of some of the still-cute members of my family!

My handsome swinger (ha ha)

IMG_2277.jpg

And our little lady - doesn''t she look like she''s living the good life at the Country Club?

IMG_2278.jpg

My double-fisted "I WILL NOT LET GO OF THIS SPOON!!" boy showing off his eatin'' and sippy cup skills!

IMG_2340_ella.jpg

And ... TEETH (and PJs)!!

IMG_2352.jpg

Ellaila, the twins are adorable!!! I love their little hats and they look like they are having the best time! Love the little teeth. hehe

Ellaila,
Your babies are getting so big. Love their little toofies. So cute!!!

Ella -- your babies'' personalities are shining through in the pictures. I lurve the smooshie cheeks! Give them a big smooch for me!

Diver, I love the color. But it basically the same color as mine so I may be bias

My MIL *IS* a good, nice, well meaning lady. I think I have been too laid back with her thus far so it makes it harder to switch. She does things to annoy me (not on purpose...probably) like rearrange my pictures. Drives me crazy. Or pretend like she doesn''t know/hear things I have said. (Like the whole BFing thing. She would always say I was only going to do it for a few months even though I always let her know of my 6 month goal. Or point out people who use formula. So, very odd). Now that they are moving here in the next few years I know I need to take a stand. Just hate confrontation and DH is NO help
20.gif

We love taking her in the shower too! SOOOO much easier. We started doing it when she was a few months old. T actually likes the water and I think it is b/c she is used to it (from her early showers).

Ella, they are darling in their swings. G does have some skills! T will only drink water out of a REAL glass. Can get quite messy/wet. Maybe she will bypass the sippy all together. K''s teeth are so cute. T has the same ones and boy they are sharp! I had to grab some random thing she found and started chewing on.

Ella, post a pic, you are so cute & I am dying to see your hair! I don''t like the ducky because its too big & bulky. This is exactly what I have, but I got it cheaper cuz I had a coupon, but still cheap.

http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2627247

So there you have it.

So...Jake kept saying "find the keys mama, they are in the bag". Now my son isn''t always very coherent, he speaks 3 year old boy...so this morning we were looking for them & he was messing with dh''s golf bag. I rifled through it briefly, but didn''t quite get to dumping it because of all the stuff in it, figured I''d do it at naptime.

Well lo and behold, I walk in the other room & hear "heres the keys mama!!!!"
20.gif
my son HID my keys. STINKER!!! So glad I didn''t holler at dh or anything.

WELL I''M OFF TO GO on a drive...

Ella: LOVE the new pictures of your twins. They are soooooo adorable. Love the toofer pictures and their hats are just too cute!!

Tacori: Are you home now??? Tessa gets more adorable with every picture. I just love seeing pictures of her.

Linda

Diver, I like the bob idea...I think it will look fab on you!

Ella, sorry I can''t be of more help in the tub department...I use that primo tub and have been since she was 3 weeks old. We didn''t have room for an infant tub anywhere (no counter space or sink space) so I''ve always used the big tub in our bathtub. I''ve had to use one of those grippy mats in the tub because it was so big for her and she''d slide everywhere but since then it''s worked great for us.

I always love your pics! And YES, K totally does look like a classy country club lady in that pic! She always has the most genteel look about her.

Tacori, that is a tough situation with your MIL, especially since you do think she is a nice lady. I really don''t understand grandmothers who don''t respect the mother''s choices. My mom has always flat out said this is my kid and she will do things my way. My MIL arrives in two weeks, so we will see what she is like, but I honestly don''t see her being different from my mom.

Mommabear, yikes...you definitely have a lot going on in your life! Hugs to you. And you looked gorgeous at the ball! Love the pics of your men too.

MrsS, good luck with your showing!

re: eyes...Amelia''s are starting to really go brown. Yay! I''m probably the only person out there who really wants her baby''s blue eyes to turn brown. It was just too strange looking into the eyes of MY blue eyed baby when she''s half Korean.

So in FLEA news (
14.gif
) I got the landlord to agree to pay for an exterminator (coming tomorrow) but I couldn''t wait so I flea bombed yesterday. I found a flea on Amelia''s CHANGING TABLE on Sunday night.
32.gif
I called again right then and asked the apartment manager for an exterminator. She said that she could give me the number, but that the landlord would not pay for it, and that she knows that because another tenant recently had to call them and paid for it himself. I said, in the nicest but FIRMEST way possible, that I don''t care what the other tenant did - it is the LANDLORD''S responsibility to pay for this. I said I did not have pets, and that I have been battling this myself for MONTHS and that I had tried everything under the sun. Either she could call the landlord for me, or I would write him myself (he hates to be contacted by tenants but I have his address since I have lived here so long). I said if he would not do it, I would call the health department.

So she called back and said he''d pay for it. The manager has always been really good to me (I''m super nice to her too) so I was very happy to have her make our case. She said actually it didn''t take much at all...we are long time good tenant and it is not our fault our apartment has fleas. I''m not sure this will be a long term fix though...as long as the cats are outside when they are not supposed to be, there will continue to be an infestation outside.

And in Amelia news (although I feel bad sharing this because I know some of you are so sleep deprived, but it is a milestone, so...), she has been sleeping through the night with no wake-ups now (at least for the last 3 nights). 7 to 7. I had still been waking up automatically in the middle of the night so I go check on her, but last night I was so tired that I slept the night through myself. My first night of 8 hours sleep in 3.5 months. Heaven!

Momma, you looked beautiful at the ball. Hope everything settle down soon. what are you guys doing for the 1 month party? for little B''s 1 month we just bought cakes and pass it out to friends and relatives.

ellaila, love the new pictures. G looks so handsome & K is so lady like. Love her little teeth

We haven''t start solid food for little B yet because last time we tried he puke after and I got scold by the pedi assistant. according to her, they don''t recommend starting solid until baby is 6 months old.

TGal, glad the landlord agree to pay for the exterminator. I''m so jealous that Amelia is sleeping thru the night....

Hello ladies.

Ella your twins are adorable - they seem like such smiley happy babies.

Tacori I hear everything you are saying about your MIL. It''s tough when you are in the situation of appreciating everything they do for you and also wanting your child to have a good relationship with their grandparents, to know how to react when they start interfering. My MIL is fantastic in that she is always very willing to spend time with my kids, but it generally has to be on her terms. She''s not really interested in coming over and spending time with them in their home, she prefers to have them stay with her without either myself or my husband present.

It''s great in that it gives us a much needed break and the kids quite clearly love spending time there, but it does lead to these ridiculous little power-struggles between us. For example, she has two car seats in her car and generally offers to come and pick them up when she is having them. Again, I appreciate her helpfulness. What I don''t appreciate is when she tries to insist she doesn''t need any help getting them into the car. We live on a busy road and my daughter can be unpredictable at times, so the last thing I want is her running away from MIL who is not as able bodied as I am.

Many times I have found myself pondering how to tactfully suggest she do things a certain way, and honestly I''ve learned to let stuff ride that isn''t detrimental to them, but it''s a constant balancing act.

Diver I think your hair already looks fabulous!

Bobo hang in there - you will get a full nights sleep eventually.

Mrs S Interesting to hear that going from 2 to 3 is easier than 1 to 2

Ella--the twins always make me smile

Mommabear--you were such a pretty preggo, you have a beautiful family

Tgal--i still like you even tho you sleep
2.gif
I don''t think i know what a full night of sleep feels like anymore so i can''t really miss it
39.gif
--i think it''s been at least 6 or 7 months if i count all the sleep troubles that come with the 3rd tri....*sigh* , it''s okay tho, Cohen is worth it (most of the time
2.gif
)
So glad your flea troubles are getting worked out! you have been more than patient on that front!

MrsS. We have strong boys! Cohen has been rolling over regularly as well and can now hold his head up when i carry him on his hip or sit him on my lap (which is very exciting to me cuz for some reason i was really looking forward to that. Frees up one arm)
36.gif

Ella
I absolutely adore the country club pix of lil MsK
30.gif
30.gif

She looked so grown up!
Like TGal said, you always have the best kiddie pix.
Keep them coming!

Too funny about your reaction to your pix
9.gif

I''m sure you looked dynamo with the new ''do.

TGal
Yay for another milestone for Amelia -- wow, 12 straight hours.
That must be sheer heaven for you to be able to sleep 8 hours straight.
Boo for the flea problem, but glad that your landlord is coming through for you guys.
Hope the exterminator can clear the problem once and for all.

Tacori
Tessa is so cute and petite.
Cute bathtime avi btw.
I think J is about the same size as her
41.gif

Love her Pedipeds by the way.
I think J has one pair that T has -- the Abigail.
I saw it in your earrings thread.
Can''t believe how expensive those tiny shoes are, but if they are comfy, I''m all for them.

Diver
Too funny about D wanting to go into the shower with her brother and daddy
9.gif

Bobo
Little B will sleep through the night eventually.
Hang in there, you are not alone
41.gif

Is little B spitting up getting better?

Burk
Tayva is just a beauty.
And what a lovely big smile she''s got.

Jas12 and MrsS
Your boys are strong indeed.
J can only successfully rolled from back to tummy if I help her along.
Hubby thinks that it's that big ole belly she got that's getting in the way
41.gif

Hehe, Jas, that''s good to know. I would hate to feel disliked because I have a sleeper on my hands.
1.gif

lili, Amelia isn''t a roller yet either. She can only go from back to left side and that''s it. She can hold her head up fine though, so that is really nice. I''m going to chalk it up to the fact that Jas and MrsS have strappin'' strong boys and we have dainty girls. Hehehehe. How are you and J doing otherwise?

Tgal--i am just *incredibly* jealous of sleep ''tis all
1.gif

Lili--aren''t the big bellies the cutest?! Cohen has one as well--he is gaining from the middle outward.
sounds like we all have strong babies--a gifted bunch they are
2.gif

off to bed--11pm is my limit. I think i have spent more time on PS today than ever before (rainy day and good naps for Co) Enough ''me time''..... I think i should have cleaned the house....
14.gif

well, I couldn''t wait till monday to get my hair cut...so I did my cut, color, and also a perm myself for a little volume.

I rather like the look...what do you gals think???

JUST KIDDING!!!!

I was playing on that website taaz.com and if you upload a pic you can try on makeup, colored contacts, teeth whitening, hairstyles...fun & free...lol

Whoa Diver!
You nearly gave me a heart attack with that

Hehe, true true.
We got us some dainty little girls...except I don''t know how to explain those thunder thighs J got going
9.gif

We are doing ok.
Still lacking in the afternoon naps, but night-time sleep is good.
She can go 6-7 hours before waking up for a feeding.

The not so good news is that I''m having a h*ll of a time trying to get her on the bottle.
Yeah, maternity is ending soon and she''s not taking the bottle

Like WOW DIVER - really far out!!
30.gif

Diver, the perm and eye shadow ar TDF!!! (You may want to do something about that yellow part though!)

I hate you that you can take a joke look and actually ROCK IT.
2.gif

Thanks for the inflatable tub info, BTW -- I bought that tub yesterday and we''ll try it tonight. I was hoping it''d be big enough for them both to be in it at the same time, but I''m not so sure. I swear twin mommas do it though, so we''ll try!

Jas, when you get that first good night''s sleep, it''ll be the sweetest sleep you ever had, trust me!!! (I love that line in some Gwen Stefani song about "You give me the most gorgeous sleep I ever had" -- ahhh, GORGEOUS sleep sounds heavenly, doesn''t it??) I swear I didn''t have a solid night''s sleep for close to a year -- twin pregnancies get that bladder pressure pretty early on so I was up every night many times -- and when the babies finally started STTN, it was the best best thing in the world. I hope it comes for you soon, hon! You deserve some gorgeous sleep!

Lili, good luck giving Jadie the bottle. My guys had the bottle from day one (in addition to BF), so we never had any transition problems but I can imagine it''d be a nightmare. So is she going to daycare when you go back to work? Or do you have family that will watch her?

TGal, glad your landlord is being cool about the fleas! Hope that gets resovled quickly. Elch, what a nightmare. BTW, Gabe didn''t roll till 16 weeks and I thought that was early (?), and Katelyn was weeks after that!

Bobo, we started rice cereal with these guys at 4 months and then solids at 6 months. Did your pedi ever recommend giving Bobo cereal to help keep him from spitting up? That''s why we (and Burk too I believe) started at 4 months, but my pedi also said it''s fine to start that early for any baby. Though the AAP now recommends 6, a lot of pedis still say 4 is fine. (Not that I''m trying to tell you what to do!)

Any new photos, mommies??

Oh, I think we''re going to try Puffs today
36.gif
I find it funny the things that get my excited nowadays.

Noooooiiice Diver!!!

lili, that is great that she is sleeping 6-7 hours! Amelia was sleeping on average 7 hours straight and then went all of the sudden to about 12 hours when we didn''t give her the night feeding. Maybe she thought it wasn''t worth waking up since she gets squat. So there''s lot of hope that J will give you plenty more hours of sleep.
36.gif

re: the bottle...gosh, that is tough! So funny that the little ones have their preferences, don''t they? Amelia didn''t like the breast after she got a solid taste of the bottle...too much work for too little milk. It doesn''t surprise me that J doesn''t care for the bottle. Let''s see...mommy''s nice warm boob or a cold silcone nipple? No contest.

Ella, maybe everyone tell me with skewed memories when their kids roll. I keep hearing 3 months! And puffs today eh? I can see how that can be exciting. Hee hee.

Exterminator coming today (he''d better show up!) We spent much of last night and this morning getting everything off the floor. Boy does it look like a bomb went off in my house. Hopefully this will really help.

I just got word from a friend in Oz that she got engaged. I share this story because her previous partner (defacto relationship) left her when their son was only 6 weeks old.
23.gif
Apparently he never wanted a kid and just got fed up with the whole thing (although personally I think he probably fell out of love with her beforehand and then felt trapped when she got pregnant). Of course, he adores his son now (after she did all the groundwork!)

I''m just SO happy for her. I remember when she called and was just sobbing over the phone that suddenly she is a single parent. I CANNOT imagine having the father of my child leave me when the baby is 6 weeks old. You are just in the middle of hell during that period and to be dumped like that...wow. Somehow she made it through and her son is adorable and happy. I can''t think of another person who deserves what she''s always wanted...a happy marriage and family.

ella, LOVE the pics of the twins..OMG they are just too cute and you really can see their personalities in the photos.

tgal- that is so awesome Amelia is sleeping so well. Jake still is up once, usually twice. he doesn''t eat very much but it''s still enough for me to wake up and have a hard time getting back to sleep. I''ll trade you the rolling over for the sleep
24.gif
. What a cool story about your friend. that is wonderful she found someone and is engaged.

diver- hilarious pic..I think I had a perm like that in the 8th grade...no joke..and the blue eye shadow..
37.gif

lili-Have you tried letting someone else give J the bottle. sometimes others are more successful b/c they don''t smell like mommy and their usual milk source. My guess is once your working and away from you, she''ll get hungry and just give in and take the bottle. most babies do end up liking them better.

lili, little B has been spitting up less so we''re good in that dept. Glad J is sleeping well. As with bottle feeding, give her more time, she''ll like the bottle eventually.

Diver, wow!!

ella, little B''s pedi said he like to see him drinking up to 32 oz of formula before he start on cereal and solid which is not happening yet. So we''ll see...if he still don''t drink up to 32 oz by his 6 months check up I''ll see what the pedi say. Puff sounds yummy..

TGal, Can''t believe the dad left when the baby is 6 weeks, your friend must went thru a lot. Glad she have found happiness again.
