Diver- I love the PIP advice too. I''ve never heard of that method before but will def. try it.

jas12- I hope you have a great trip.

Hi Jen- glad you dropped by. Like Tgal, i lurk on the preggo thread just don''t comment as much unless there is something I think I can help answer. I love following all the preggo''s there though...you''ll be over here soon enough

Lorelei, that means so much to me. Thank you!

Hey Tacori, really quick...

Amelia made a face earlier this week where she totally reminded me of Tessa (even looked like her for a sec). I think it was her slightly wrinkled nose and her adorable crooked smile. And I thought..."hey, I actually think you''re cute now!"

Hehehehe.

Hehehehe.

Oh so cute! And Ame *IS* cute! Tessa actually does an ugly face now. Like when she is trying to figure things out/thinking. The top half of her face looks like she is smiling but the bottom half looks like she is about to "talk." Totally DON'T match up.

BTW, I finally got AF yesterday. Is it strange I am kinda relieved? I am glad it happened in between vacations too. I was tired of always carrying "protection." I felt so sick before it reminded me of m/s

I was a little scared.

ETA: MSB, So cute and what a happy baby!!!

tacori- glad for you that baby #2 isn''t on the way just yet

not much new to report. just got back from a short weekend trip and very happy to be home. Jake does okay traveling but as he''s getting older he doesn''t sleep as much so it equals more frequent stops to help stimulate him so he''ll sleep so we can drive etc...anyway, all in all not too bad but again...way glad to be back home in the normal routine..

hope all the other mommies had a nice weekend.

MrsS, glad you had a good weekend. I am glad baby #2 is ALSO not on the way. My neighbor keeps warning me that I will get the itch soon. We''ll see...I felt so bad b/c T and I took a walk this morning and she was soaking wet with sweat.
7.gif
Poor baby. She is pulling herself up whenever she can and I even found her sitting on her knees in her crib after her nap.

Hello mommies!! Sorry I have been MIA. We had volleyball camp last week....it was also T''s first week of daycare!
23.gif
Needless to say, the time I wasn''t doing volleyball, I was spending with Miss T. I don''t have time to catch up right now, as I need to get laundry done, clean my house and get ready to head out for a play date, but wanted to pop in and say hello! Hope you are all doing well! BBL!!!

Burk, hope volleyball was fun!

MSB: lil'' man is adorable, look at all that hair!! I love it!

Tgal: Amelia is a dollface! what are you talking about? You are a riot.

Tacori: I have got to see Tessa''s faces, you need to get that on film.

AF: I have no idea where mine is. Ummm...can we say going on CD30 or 31? I''m getting a *wee* nervous. Of course then I always do. I swear, having my tubes tied is the BIGGEST pain in the rear. I just don''t trust it if you KWIM.

Can I sue the OB who tied my tubes if I get pregnant? It cost me 5k for that surgery AND I wasn''t planning on college for 3. I''d be so mad. I don''t know *what* I''d do. Freak out for sure. Ever since I had my tubes tied, I''m convinced I''m going to get pregnant. It doesn''t help that my cycle is all over the place (33 days, 26 days, 28 days) I think I need to stock up on pee sticks from the dollar store. Its just nice to rest my mind (and those work if you wait until you are due or late a day or so).

Ok, I''m exhausted....was up at 6am...had to leave at 7:30am for Jake''s swim lessons (we have 8 more days of that!) then we went to playdate at the park! Eeeek!!!!

Time for nap

Lili, good luck giving Jadie the bottle. My guys had the bottle from day one (in addition to BF), so we never had any transition problems but I can imagine it''d be a nightmare. So is she going to daycare when you go back to work? Or do you have family that will watch her?

She''ll be in daycare close to my work place when I go back to work.
Would have loved to have my sister or mom look after her.
Unfortunately, they don''t live close or are they on the way to work.
Our commute is already long as it is, so to tack another half hour one way would be a little too tiring.

Still no luck with the bottle.
I shouldn''t have weaned her of it when I tried to get her to latched.
She took the bottle initially when my milk wasn''t coming in.
She actually fought me on the boobs initially and preferred the bottle

TGal
Ha, I spoke too soon about J sleeping for 6 hours stretch
15.gif

She''s back to waking up every 3 hours -- sometimes to feed and sometimes to fuss.

Anyway, congrats to your friend.
It''s good to see good things happen to good people :)

MrsS
Yup, I did let my hubby tried bottle feeding.
Let my sisters and SIL tried as well.
No luck
15.gif

I''ve tried different nipples and all with the same result.
Still haven''t tried latex though.
I''ve heard that some babies just would not take to the bottles.
One other thing I can try is sippy cup.

Glad to have you back.
Post pix of your mini vacay if you have them.

Tacori
Sorry to hear about your situation with your MIL.
I agree with the others about putting your foot down and soon, especially when she''d be moving closer now.
Hehe, you don''t have the itch yet because T is such a petite cutie.
Though she''s growing and hitting all her major milestones, she''s still like a little baby.
J has already sprouted 4-5 inches and more than double her birth weight.
My baby is growing too fast!

Jas12
Hope you had a good weekend showing off your little man

Haha, I''m sure they put something in the contract that shield them from such lawsuits :)
I''ve actually heard of many instances where women get pregnant after tying their tubes.
One lady got pregnant twice.

Actually I remember when I used to work for a solicitor who had a case where a woman was seeking to claim compensation from her doctor because she fell pregnant after having her tubes tied, although I can''t recall if what the outcome was. I think there has also been a couple of cases here in Aus where men have gotten their wives pregnant after a vasectomy and sued for the cost of raising the child.

diver, I''d be the exact same way. I actually went back on the pill 6 weeks after I had jake and I''m still nervous. My AF hasn''t returned so I have no idea where I am in the cycle. I just take the pill everyday, but it''s a progesterone only pill which isn''t quite as effective as the estrogen/progest. mix so I have no clue. I''d be freaked out b/c I really don''t want anymore. My sister who has an 8 week old opted to not go back on any BC b/c they want 3-4 kids and she wants to officially start trying when her baby is one. of course she knows she runs the risk of getting preggo any time again and is cool with that. i on the other hand am very DONE with 3 and a surprise would be very difficult for me to handle emotionally at this point.

lili- sorry about the whole bottle debacle. I don''t have any good advice for you. my oldest took a bottle, no problem. My middle one never took a bottle, went straight from nursing to a cup but was a lot older than J is now. good luck.

AF is here!!!!

Ladies isn''t it funny when we TTC we pray not to get our AFs and then when we have the babies we pray to get it? Cycle of life I guess. Diver glad to hear you are NOT preggo. I haven''t heard about women getting preggo after tubes tied but I guess it probably happens.

MrsS, the mini pill made me a little nervous since it isn''t as effective (but better than nothing). So glad to be back on seasonique.

Lili, thanks! She is a cutie. My friend came over with her 6 week old and I seriously cannot remember T that small. So sweet. Though I LOVE the age/stage she is in now. Sorry about the bottle troubles. T never had problems switching but then again she weened herself at 6.5 months. Wish you could reason with them huh? When do you go back to work?

Burk, how is sweet Tayva doing? I hear ya on the busy summer.

Okay, in-laws just left so I have a little time to try and catch up.....

Tacori~Yea, summer is so busy! Glad you're back from vacation. Did I read it's just for week? Where to next? I also read a little about your MIL situation and am so sorry. It can be so "touchy" when it comes to those things. Miss Tayva is doing SO much better. We actually cancelled her upper GI because she's doing so much better! Hey, I've been meaning to log on and ask you and the other mommie when you moved to the 2nd foods? I think T might be ready? Also (wow, I haven't been around for a while!!) been meaning to ask what you ended up doing with baby-proofing? T is scooting already so I think crawling is right around the corner. Oh, and I can totally relate to not remembering T being as small as your friend's 6-week old. I picked up an outfit today at Children's Place that was 0-3 months and was in shock that T was EVER that small.
2.gif
9.gif

Diver~So glad AF arrived! I would be just as freaked out as you are! When is this hair appointment? Do we get pics? I think you could so pull off the bob, but my vote may be too little too late!
25.gif
And yep, volleyball was a great time. I am really lucky. I have TERRIFIC kids and they are actually talented volleyball players too! Taking Tayva to daycare on the other hand....HATED it!
15.gif

msb~Cute pic!! He looks like he loves the pool!

Tgal~So sorry to hear about the window! Isn't it crazy how much a kid can change when their sleep gets messed up? Has Amelia done the 45 minute afternoon nap since you posted about the incident?

Jas12~Hope you had a great trip! Glad your sleep issue is better!

Jess~I went back to work (I'm a teacher) at 10 weeks. I cried every time I dropped her off for the first week (and I was taking her to a friends who's a SAHM!). All I can say is over time it gets better. You will get in to your routine and you will be okay. I only had to be back at work for 9 weeks before summer break and so she's now going to go to an in-home daycare for the upcoming school year. She went last week as a sort of "test week" while I was coaching volleyball camp and it was equally as hard this time (at 6 months) as it was at 10 weeks. I know it'll again take time to get into our routine and it'll be okay. On a positive note, my social butterfly LOVED daycare. She loved all the kids and was a perfect angel (even took better naps for the daycare provider!!) Hang in there!

Okay, I'm tired. I'll have to catch up with everything else tomorrow. But before I go, a pic of Miss Tayva who I have decided officially sits up now!
21.gif
I wasn't sure when to actually call it "sitting up" since for the past couple weeks she sits just fine just doesn't stay sitting....too ADHD.....has to go get toys and what not. So, since she doesn't actually fall over and I can leave the room with her sitting and not be afraid she'll get hurt, I stuck it in the baby book that she sits up.

tacori-I do get nervous and plan to switch to my reg. pill after my next dr. appt which is next month. I went to a reg. BC pill when I nursed my second and didn''t have a decreased milk supply so I''m hoping that will be the same case this time.

diver- YAY, that''s great news

Burk- Tayva is so adorable....very cute picture

LOL..I know! Yay! It is funny how we are about AF.

Tacori: I guess tubals have a 0.5% failure rate. Which mean it does happen. It happened to my friend (the one who took my maternity pics) last summer. She thought she was sick! She was actually THRILLED to be pg, figured it to be a miracle, and then had a miscarriage which was so sad. She was so hopeful. If you go on some boards, there are tons of women who''ve gotten pg after a tubal. I was shocked! There are lots of vasectomy babies running around too! But vasectomy is more reliable with a failure rate of <0.1% (if men go back to have their semen tested 2 times & its negative...failure rates are due to guys ignoring this...source: Wikipedia).

If I had known, my dh would have gotten the ol'' snip snip. DARN!

Burk: Tomorrow is haircut day. I let DH pick the style out of all the ones I printed off...so yes, I will post pics. Cross yer fingers for me...I can''t take anymore hair raising drama! LOL.

Today was exhausting...

6am up & cleaning kitchen/doing laundry
7am: get jake up & fed
7:30 get delaney up & changed
8am swim lesson
9am Target for sippy cups, socks & sportbra
9:30 Great harvest bread--Jake''s hungry
10am Mom''s club "day at the park" chase kids for 2 hours straight.
12:30 home for lunch
1:30 to 4 NAPTIME! more laundry, housework, and spend 2 hours on the phone with stupid Blue Cross getting my pediatrician paid...they have my kids coded wrong AGAIN.
5pm Run errands, return stuff to Target, Old Navy that I kept forgetting about
6pm drive thru dinner (i NEVER do that for dinner, I felt so bad--but it was grilled chix for me at least)
7pm clean kitchen again, pack bags for swim class tomorrow, make coffee ahead of time, lay out kids & my clothes, laundry.
7:30pm baths, books, bottles & both kids in bed by 8:30pm.
9pm...1st glass of wine
9:25pm 2nd glass of wine & BED!

I have to do it over tomorrow. jake''s swim class (darn adorable by the way) is for the next 9 days in a row at 8am. ARgh..it was the only slot left.

Tomorrow''s just as bad in the beginning. I''ve got swim at 8, Weight Watchers at 9, and have to meet my dad back at my house at 10am, my hair at 10:40am, and then I have to go by Nordy''s to return some stuff I bought that doesn''t fit. (when will I learn to shop WITHOUT my kids? I make more trips cuz I can''t try stuff on--so I buy various sizes to try on at home...dumb)

I am not used to this "fast pace" lol...poor Daners was beside herself crazy this afternoon. At least the kids will be home by 10 am & then can chill here with PeePaw while I''m off galavanting at the hair salon. And I am going to MY stylist, the GOOD ONE, at the swanky joint.

ok...gotta scoot..

hello ladies! hope u all are doing great...

Tacori: glad to have u back :) where u off to next time? (and sorry to hear about your MIL but it seems that you''ve handled the situation pretty well...and i agree that sometimes they just dont think thru about wat it is their doing and how it may upset us...)....

lili: sorry to hear about the bottle
7.gif
a friend of mine had to suffer through the same situation but she just kept trying with different bottles and different people (and made sure she wasn''t even in the ROOM when they were offering her the bottle), tried giving her with a spoon!, tried giving her with a cup, u name it she tried it..it took a while, but her baby realized in the end that there was no option except the bottle if she wanted some milk! i hope u find something that works for u soon
7.gif

Diver: congrats on the AF!! heheheh....and good luck with the very very long day!! i applaud u honestly being able to run around and do all that with TWO kids in tow...i still get scared when i know i have a ''long'' list of things to do when little K is with me..im always worried that i wouldn''t know wat to do if he just started to fuss and wouldn''t calm down! (and btw,wat does D do when Jake is in swim class?) (can''t wait to see ur pic after the haircut!)

MrsS: welcome back :) would love to see some more pics of jake

Burk: love that pic of T!! shes such a cutie!!

general question
7.gif
Sorry if this is too personal), but all this talk about AF and pills and being worried makes me wonder how ''active'' can one be with a baby around!! honestly, we barely have the time (or the energy) to do anything after little K is asleep..we both somehow rather just go straight to sleep than anything else! hehehe...is there something wrong with us? (plus after little K goes to bed, thats usually where we both can (for the 1st time since we get back home) relax and sit down on the couch! so we usually have some dinner, talk about our day, watch a bit of tele...and then its like...sleep time? (and that means exactly that..sleep time!!)

Yup, life would be so much easier if we can.
I found myself telling her to go to sleep and we can play tomorrow.
She was so tired, cranky, and hungry, yet she stopped nursing to talk to me.
Normally I''d love talking to her, but she''s been on me for more than an hour already!
and being the nosy person that she is, the more she talks to me, the more alert she''ll be.
I snapped at her to go to sleep
15.gif

I''ll be back at work at the beginning of next month.
So not too much time left.

Burk
Aweee...what a pretty princess Tayva is

Can''t wait to see how her hair will turn out when it gets longer.

Ok, here''s my little monster having a fit.
Hope she doesn''t see this years down the road.

Here she is, alot happier (in her brownie onesie)
Ignore her nasty looking tongue.

oh my goodness!!! such a cute picture!!!

msb- we''re usually too tired too so it''s def. not as often. plus with 3 small kids in the house the opportunies aren''t there. But, I get preggo very easily and am just paranoid that even if we have relations (hehe) 2x in a month I''d get knocked up one of those 2x
41.gif

diver: your day makes me tired just reading it. Just wait until jake starts school and then you''ve got all the school activities to add into the mix. Can''t wait to see the hair cut and I hope you enjoy your day at the salon

lili-oh my those pics of little J are just priceless. She has just the best hair ever and her expressions are soo cute. she''s a dollbaby...

Lili: oooh, i want to eat her up! She is soooo darling! Dang, we have cute kids on this board.

MrsS: You know, I always laugh when I hear the word "relations". I see that old black lady in the Nutty Professor movie w/ Eddie Murphy..... "raaaaaa-llllations". And I absolutely HAVE to say it like that. LOL.

MSB: Yeah, what Mrs.S said. Jake was 2 before things began to go back to normal. Then I got pg with D, so forget it. For me that first 2 years is hard on the energy, so I am so tired by bedtime. Don''t worry about it, as long as you communicate w/ your spouse about it. It''ll come back around.

YAWN! This up early biz is for the birds..really.

Burk: the pic of T is so cute. She looks so happy, its hard to believe she struggles so much with reflux. HOw is she this week?

Burk, so glad to hear she is doing good. I only used stage 1 food to introduce the food. Once I knew she tolerated it I moved to stage 2 (and combos as long as she had both foods before). Luckily I have only found one kind (so far) she hated and in her defense it did smell like dog food (chicken and noodles). We leave for Vegas tomorrow (friend's wedding) home for 3 days than T and I go see my family for 2 weeks.
24.gif

Diver, you are a busy lady! Well you can have DH get snipped too just in case
11.gif

msb, thanks. I agree there is not much time or energy for baby making. But it only takes once! Haha.

lili, I remember those days. Towards end T JUST wanted to talk and play instead of nurse. That is when I cut her off
2.gif
Luckily she will not remember if you do snap at her. Cute pics of J! She is such a doll face.
