TGal, not sure anyone wants to see my working girls (well now unemployed
3.gif
) No one tells you your boobs will get SMALLER after kids

My body has been put through the ringer I tell you. Good thing she is so cute.

I do think women in general have more BFing comments/issues altogether. MIL gave me a hard time for BFing. Maybe b/c she felt guilty she didn''t. Who knows.
And you know what the kicker is? The cliche is true. TOTALLY WORTH IT.

I would have never believed it would be the case. I didn''t believe women who said it. I loved my perky, youthful boobs and didn''t want them to turn into "milkbags" but now I look at the sad state of affairs and just shrug and grab a toy to play with Amelia.

MrsS, I pumped in the car too! Felt like such a weirdo. I covered up with a blanket but it is an awesome way to travel. Pump then just reach back and fed T the bottle when she woke up hungry. Cut down on stops. I think EVERY public place should have a comfy/private place for moms to nurse if people are SOOO offended by it.
20.gif
My baby has more rights to EAT than someone has to SMOKE IMHO.

Oh, how could I have forgot about pumping in the airplane bathroom! haha! What a horrible, uncomfortable experience.

TGal, and that isn''t the WORST on my problems. I think I am the only PSer that got stretch marks...everywhere (or at least admits it
3.gif
), plus still packing on the baby weight. So sexy. But the fact we made life....pretty cool. Even cooler than looking hot in a bikini. Though one day I hope to be back there.

Diver!

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE your hair!! Its is so stylish and cute !!!! I'm biased though, I am so much more of a fan of shorter hair than longer hair on women, I guess b/c shorter hair to me just seems more put together and cool, ya know? You look adorable!!!!!!
30.gif
30.gif
Love the color too!!!

LOL Tacori, even I remember your airplane pumping escapade!

I totally understand that some women are offended by it. Some don''t want to have to explain to kids who may be watching what the lady is doing. I get all that. There are societal reasons (whether we agree with them or not) why people don''t want to see boobs in public for any reason. But it''s that "ew, oh oh gross, wrong!" mentality that really doesn''t help issues in my book. The "ew" is a natural part of life and for some babies, the only way they can eat (for example, our adorable little J won''t take the bottle).

I guess it IS possible to have a civil BFing in public discussion eh?

I find it interesting that some women who take offense to public BFing would have no problem going out dressed with their boobs hanging out. Geez...at least mother''s are doing it for the sake of sustenance!

That''s what I was thinking too.

Ha! I''ve often thought this too. The whole breastfeeding in public issue is so ridiculous - Tacori is right, babies need to eat too!!! I can''t say I was ever very comfortable with doing it myself, but there were times I found I had to do it. My eldest wanted to eat every 2 hours for the first 6 months so I would have had to stay at home for the duration if I wasn''t willing to feed him in public. I would have been mortified if anyone was ever rude enough to make a comment. The right to breastfeed in public is protected by law here, which is comforting to know, but I guess it probably wouldn''t stop some insensitive jerk taking offense.

I always wonder if the people who are disgusted by seeing a woman breastfeed would like to have to eat their meals in a public bathroom?

Uh hello....

I got stretch marks. I am still way over the weight I need to be. I am RIGHT THERE with you. And I got a bit of melasma to boot.

But you know...we should shush...we will scare other PSers into not having children, and it is really a cool thing, I agree.

Well I missed that thread. Were they bashing all of you wonderful mommies for breast feeding?????? If they were, shame on them!!! I breast fed my daughter waaaaaaaaaaaay back then. I was also discreet about it.

Linda

Thanks gals for the hair props! I am really really happy...walked out of the salon on a cloud, kept hugging my stylist.

I''m surmising from your posts that someone was dissing a mom for feeding her kid. Oy...come on now. I''ve got .02 for the cause too.

We''re all from the ''hood here.... MOTHERHOOD! We sisters have to stick together. Don''t worry, the ignorant will get a crash course in reality when they have their own kids. Funny little thing called Karma.

:-P

haha TGal. I wish you lived closer. We would wallow together (over some fattening treat). They are worth it. I feel so lucky.

Tacori: No stretch marks, but nasty melasma, and still holding on to 15lbs of baby weight. You are not alone. and I''m so dense, I put the hydroquinone on my face in some spots that weren''t dark & it bleached those WHITE. lol. Oh well...Daners sure is cute!

Joy joy joy joy.

You are lucky! SM are so gross. I hate them. I only have hope they will have some wonderful laser treatment in the future. At least they are fading. I don''t see an extra 15lbs on you. You are a hot mama!

Ha, I saw that post and was thinking, how immature can she be?
I''d expect to hear that expression from a kid or some adolescent, not a supposedly mature adult (and one waiting to start a family no less).
The boobs are there to feed your baby, not for men to ogle at or play with.

All you PS mommies with babies don''t worry - as soon as they become toddlers the weight will fall right off!

I missed that thread. Glad I did, because I would have slammed her. BFing is part of life, sustaining life. Sheesh.

Chasing after them is a workout in itself!

I love the baby pictures! They are all so cute! Keep them coming!

Diver, I love your new haircut! I''ve been growing my hair out during my pregnancy and after the baby comes I''ll probably end up cutting it shoulder length.

Hubby and I are thinking about it - you lovely ladies are my inspiration. But I gotta tell ya, the stuff above does scare me. I already have melasma and I''ve never been preggers.

Ha, well for those of you who missed it, probably a good thing. You mightn''t have been as NICE as I was.

Seriously though...people are allowed to be young and naive. We''ve all been there. Heck, sometimes I am OLD and naive!

lili, yeah, your point is right...it did make me chuckle a bit. Want to be a mom? Then how about trying to understand the plight of other moms?

LAJennifer...well, I can only say it''s worth it. (which doesn''t mean it doesn''t suck, too.)

Off to catch up on the mommy thread and respond to posts...and to ogle at the new pics. (can you "ogle" baby pics? That sounds gross!)

Of COURSE its possible when everyone has the same opinion!

I didn''t respond to that thread because I knew it was a $h!t show waiting to happen.
I think it is hard for non-moms to "get it" though. I''m not a mom, and honestly, outward nipple-exposed breast feeding does freak me out a bit. A blanket or some other type of cover wouldn''t bother me though, I hardly notice those moms. I''m sure my opinion about bare breasts on display will change once I have a child, sort of like your opinion of your milk bags.
9.gif

I didn''t read far enough in that thread to see if anyone was knocking breastfeeding in general, which in my opinion, would be ridiculous. Do you think HOHs story was exaggerated? Is it possible to squirt milk like a hole in a water baloon?

But you know it kind of reminds me of society''s hang-ups with nudity in general. My friend''s family members all walked around naked like it was no big deal...that would have never happened in my house! Sometimes I wonder if its the same thing with BFing.

BTW I am *so* stressed out. She is teething is this go around is MUCH tougher than the first two. She is so upset. Plus we are leaving tomorrow on a loooooong flight. I KNOW DH and I will end up fighting b/c he isn''t the most thoughtful and I am NOT going to take care of her alone for the whole trip (this from a man that has spent the last 2 weeks golfing nonstop...tough life buddy).

And now when I go get her up from her naps/morning she is either sitting up in her crib or kneeling which kind of freaks me out. It is on the lowest setting but still...how old are they when they can finally escape?

Multiple holes for that matter.

Okay....I obviously need an anatomy lesson. I feel stupid for thinking there is only one hole. I think I''m going to step back and return when I learn a little more about the wonderful areola!

I got stretch marks everywhere except my tummy. Boobs, thighs, hips, butt and back. Ugh. James is so worth everything though.
2.gif

James and I are doing well. He''s waking up about every 2-3 hours to be fed and is otherwise not too fussy. He had a poop blowout yesterday and my lucky hubby got to take care of it. He said poop was everywhere - out of the diaper, on the clothes, on James'' leg and feet - yuck! It happens. James loves to be in the car and also out and about. He''s been to Target and BRU several times now and he''s even come out to eat with us.

Such cute babies here on PS! I need to post more of my little guy!

Yes Lucky, you can squirt.

RE: civil discussion, I don''t think all of us have the same opinion. I actually fully respect your (as well as anyone else''s) opinion that they are uncomfortable with public breastfeeding. You aren''t alone. It''s all in the way we present our opinions, and it is possible to do it in a civil, uninflammatory way. As Tacori said, it''s possible to have the same opinion as you, then change your mind a bit when you get into that situation. There is nothing wrong with being ignorant on the subject (but as someone else says, willful ignorance is another thing altogether). If someone is going to suggest babies should only be BF''d in a corner or in a bathroom, then that''s an invitation to debate, IMHO.

Yes, as weird as it sounds, there several holes.

Diva, *sigh* I am just having a pity party. I just talked to DH and he said he would help out in Vegas. So we shall see. I want him to have fun BUT I want to have fun too! Hopefully I am worrying over nothing.

Lucky, I only squirted when I was engorged and it wasn''t at full force or anything. I think it was exaggerated. After all I don''t know anyone who would squirt *anything* in public (hopefully). Plus across the table...I did get 12" maybe. It wasn''t really something I tried often. Haha. I didn''t like to waste my liquid gold.

Another thing, even w/o a cover if a woman is BFing correctly you cannot see a thing (at least nothing that wouldn''t be shown in a bikini). I think most women do try to be as discreet as possible. I know *I* certainly tried to.

And sometimes you CAN''T be that discreet. I mean, getting a baby to latch on is a talent in and of itself. Some kids freak out if their heads are covered, and you have to get a good grip on your nipple, pinch it between your hands, and make sure the WHOLE KIT-N-KABOODLE goes in the babe''s mouth, or you will be a very very sad sorry momma with cracked bleeding nipples that feel like red hot pokers are searing through them while you nurse.

So, unless it comes very easy to you, or you & baby are old hats at it & have your routine down, it can be a trick to get latched. The last thing we mommas need is some ignoramus getting all freaked out by a boob. Geez...its SINGLE purpose is not to fill out a bikini top, its to feed a baby.

I think its more offensive to see teens/young women squeezed into super low slung jeans 3 sizes too small, with too tight tops that don''t cover their midriff, and topped off by a big old muffin top hanging out & a butt crack adorned with a neon thong peeking out.
