I love these eyes!

Me too. Look at those lashes!

Your men are too cute.
They even got the same haircut!

awww, new beauties to stare at this morning!

Diver--great family photos, glad u had a good vacay (minus the sketchy house
3.gif

Tgal--haha, he does look furtive, as if to say "have i been spotted? how much of my foot can i chew before i am discovered"
and re: LA--if my experiences at LAX are any indication of how tourists are treated in the city then i believe you about the hostility. I have the funniest story about ordering a drink at the starbucks kiosk while waiting for my flight home from aust. Lets just say the woman working realllly disliked her job.

Ella--urrgh, i hope going off the nuvaring does the trick for you. Maybe u could just use a barrier method for a while until you feel 100% sure that u want to snip snip? I''ve never been a fan of the pill either so i used condoms--ya,they''re a bit annoying but u get over it.

such beautiful baby pictures! How did we all get such great looking kids?

Jas12- Come to LA! it isnt the best tourist city, but there sure is some great shopping and good restaurants...and of course not all of us that live here are bad.

Work is going well. Some days are better than ever, and I''m not nearly as jealous of DH as I was initially. I''m really impressed, he is doing so well. They take swim lessons on saturdays with a few other dads.

Ian is cruising at high speeds, crawling up stairs, giving kisses and high fives and basically turning into a toddler. I cant believe in just over a month he will be one. I''m kind of in denial. What in the world will I do when its time for kindergarden?

Ella- sorry the ring has been bothering you. I was on it when it first came out, and it kinda jacked me up too. I''m have paraguard now, an I love it! no hormones at all!

Welcome misspinky! As for the binky-yep it was recalled. I just threw it away. Didn't think it was worth getting my $5 back.

Do you live in KC?

Ella~
Glad you had a good trip. Sorry to hear about the NuvaRing. I went on the patch and it made me weird, too. I hope you're able to find something that works for you. I know how hard it is dealing with ONE teething baby....add to that messed up horomones and another teething baby!!
23.gif

lili~J was bigger than you thought!
21.gif
They do grow WAY too fast!

diver~Your family looks beautiful as usual!

msf~Glad work is going well. I go back officially on Wednesday. I am terrified.

I lived in KC about a year ago and now I live in Columbia and am finishing up graduate school (1 semester to go--woohoo)

They do grow WAY too fast!

Yup, they sure do.
Jadie just hit another of her milestone a few days ago.

Ella, I can''t believe how quickly she''s growing up either. When I take her to the baby weigh- in clinic, all the others born that week look like babies still. Little, snuggly babies. My girl looks like a toddler. It''s amazing watching her develop and grow but part of me would like her to be a newborn forever. I loved those first days sooo much, it was incredible.

Burk, 1 day! That must have been so tough. I am deeply grateful for having DH around I could not have coped on my own. I have new respect for single parents, too. Now that I know how hard it is!

Mrs. Salvo, MissPinky, Lili, Jas12, TGal, & Diver!!!!! They could Seriously, win the cutest baby contests!!hehe

burk- they used bumble and bumble''s Curl creme on my hair. good luck going back to work next week...

misspinky- welcome, your daughter is adorable.

jas12- Love the pics of Cohen...the one with him eating his foot is hilarious...def. frameworthy!!!

ella- thanks for checking in...don''t ever worry about addressing everyone in your post. i for one just like reading your updates about whats going on with you and the twins..

diver- looks like a fun time was had by all...

Lili, I totally forgot to add you and Jadie to the "love the photos!" list - sorry! Of course I love Ms. J very much, you know that
21.gif

Thanks for all your support re: the birth control - you guys are the best. I feel bad that I haven''t been posting much, but seriously this thing has gotten the best of me, and I''m just feeling sort of "meh" about everything. MsF, I will ask my dr. about ParaGard on Monday - no hormones sounds good to me! I do think you''re right, Lili, in that I probably need to give this a longer time to be in my body (this is my first month with it), but to be honest, I''m scared to have another month like this. My babies need a sane mama and my husband needs a sane wife.

Wah, wah wah, whine, whine, whine. I''ll shut up now!

MissPinky, welcome to the mommies thread!!
35.gif
That first photo of your girl is just too sweet for words. What a beauty!

We started rice cereal at 4 months because a) Gabe''s reflux and b) Gabe was starting to wake up during the night again because he was hungry. They loved the cereal right from the get-go and had no problems with the spoons at all. We held off on giving other solids until 6 months though. Good luck when you guys start - it''s fun!
9.gif
As for getting big, we bought our new car seats today (Britax Marathons) -- our babes are out of their bucket seats! I can''t believe it. I''m pretty excited to start having black-and-blue-free knees again - I don''t know about you guys but I whack those car seats into my knees constantly, and since I''m carrying two down at a time, I get it on both legs. So yay to no more bruises!

JadeLeaves, congrats on baby #2!! How exciting! What''s his/her nickname going to be? Can''t beat Button - that one''s a classic (as is Button himself!).

Diver, your family is just too too beautiful. But I suppose stunning mom + handsome dad = gorgeous babies (hello, Shiloh Jolie-Pitt!). I notice you have your bangs in a barrette - do they annoy you? Your hair still looks great though, even w/o the bangs.

MrsS, I laughed at your hair "cut" because it''s still so long - I was totally expecting to see a Katie Holmes ''do! Your hair is so pretty though - if mine looked that good long, I wouldn''t cut it either. (Have any of you read "Dinosaur''s Binkit" by Sandra Boynton? The last line says, "Your smile makes me wish I had a binkit of my own" and I think that line SO often with things - like I was just thinking, "Your hair makes me wish I had long hair of my own" - OMG, could I be any more of a MOM?!)

Jas, your little Cohen has such a sparkle in his eye ... he looks like he''s got some mischief brewing in him!
2.gif

Burk, so we ran out of Elecare before we went to FL so we just gave Gabe regular Similac, and wouldn''t you know it, he started spitting up and arching again. Ack. I was hoping that now that she''s eating more solids and is sitting up on his own that he''d be outgrowing that, but NOPE. This reflux thing really sucks, doesn''t it? Anywho. How was the wedding last night? I''m sure Miss Tayva was the belle of the ball
1.gif

Teething question - for those with babes with top teeth ... umm, are they HUGE?! K''s top two are coming in, and I fear she''s going to be a gopher. They look monstrous in her tiny face! They''re not all the way out yet though so I''m hoping they will look more proportional once they''re rightfully where they should be. (Please God.)

OH, and as for diapers - my guys wear Pampers Baby Dry, and G is now in size 4s (!!) and K is in 3s.

Ella--re: teeth size. My hairdresser''s little boy just got some top teeth and they looked huge at first but after a little while i guess his head grew or maybe i just got used to the way they looked but they don''t seem nearly as large any more--so don''t worry
2.gif

Also, don''t worry about whining on this thread--that''s what it is for. I know what it feels like to be hormonal (3 months of very bad postpartum insomnia made me feel the worst i have ever felt in my life!) so vent away....

TGal, A looks so cute in her bumbo. Wonder what she's thinking about?
lili, wow J is getting big. Cute diaper picture.
Jas, lol at the eating foot picture! Co is so cute!
misspinky, your daughter is beautiful!
Diver, you have such a beautiful family!

Question about Target nursing tanks - I have to buy them online since I've never seen them in person at Targets and am trying to decide what size to get. My normal pre-pregnant size or a size bigger? If I plan to live in them at least for a few months, how many could I get? 3? I need to stock up soon.

misspinky~I love KC. So exciting about grad school! I'm sure you're ready to be done!

MrsM~Yea, my DH has a workaholic issue. He was still using his PDA to do work stuff while my OB was breaking my water! He took some half days here and there and his job is flexible so he came home early to give me my mommy time, so it really was fine. I totally have respect for single moms now. It's hard.

mrss~Thanks! I am always looking for good product to wear my hair curly. And thanks for the work luck. I'll need it to not fall apart when I leave T at daycare.

Ella~We moved T into her big girl carseat a few weeks ago. She loves it (she can look around) and so do I. Those infant seats are heavy! Sorry Gabe didn't do well on the Similac. I can totally relate (did you read about how I tried to quit giving T her meds....BAD idea!) Is your doc still giving you the ELecare? I have two cases that I would love to give you because T didn't tollerate it and someone should have it-the stuff costs a fortune! But I don't know how I'd get it to you...... T did good at the wedding. She was falling asleep on my lap at 7:15 before we even left.... I knew it would be hard. She didn't cry or fuss but I knew we were getting to a breaking point so I left at 9:15.

Just left BIL and SILs. They have a 2.5 year old and he is an absolute terror. He is so naughty to Tayva (and just in general). He was throwing toys at her, taking the blanket from under her, taking away her toys, the list goes on. Then, when I got her to sleep he was so loud he woke her up. I was pissed. BIL and SIL do nothing and when they do say something our nephew doesn't listen. I feel weird disciplining their kid when they do nothing, but I can't let him do things that could hurt my kid....especially when he was jumping off the coffee table right beside where T was playing on the floor. I flipped out on DH when we left. I feel bad. He totally agrees with me that our nephew is out of control, but it's his brother's kid and our only nephew.....Yucky situation.

snlee~ We must have been posting at the same time. I got my normal size (pre-preggo) in the nursing tanks from Target. I had three and it worked out-I pretty much lived in them.

I know. Those newborn days were so precious. I wished they stay a newborn forever too, but DH likes her at this stage now where she can play and interact with him.
I know what you mean about them growing so fast. You really don''t realize how big they''ve gotten until you see them side by side with another newborn.
I remember taking Jade in to the BF clinic at 6 wks and saw this lady with a newborn who was about the same size as Jade when she was born.
She was so teeny tiny next to my GIANT 9lbs girl
41.gif

Hehe, Amelia has such a cute headful of hair and it is so well-behaved too....unlike my little girl''s crazy mohawk.
Did you do anything to keep them in place?

Don''t worry about it Ella.
It must be the Nuvaring
41.gif

Hehe, I know you love all the kiddies here just the same.

Snlee
I agree with Burk, get the pre-preggo size.
Your ribs will most likely be back to normal after birth.
3 should be enough unless you have a spitty baby.
I got spit on everyday and was constantly doing the laundry because my 5 tanks couldn't last me through the week
41.gif

Oh, since you are ordering online,
you might as well get those Medela (or Lansinoh) nursing pads since I think Target will do free shipping on orders over $50.
Those pads are very slim and will prevent embarrassing moments of leaking boobs.

Burk: Well my son has a bff who is a terror, and we tell him no when he''s doing something dangerous. I feel bad, cuz its not my kid, but i can''t help it, I can''t just sit and watch. If T is in danger of getting hurt, you have every right to say "No Johnny, be careful around the baby" etc. Just say it nicely enough & the ILs can''t blame you.

MrsS; Nice hair cut...LOL!! You look amazing. You will be so glad you didn''t get a daily styler hairdo. I have to wash, dry & flatiron this ''do every day. On the positive side, styling takes about 6 minutes (drying & flat iron) so its not time consuming, and I tend to look polished instead of scrappy.

How did your hairdresser use a diffuser to make your ringlets? I don''t understand, but me likey!!! My hairdresser had fab ringlets the day I went in, & she said another stylist did it with a diffuser. KEWL.

I wish my hair was longer again, I like my short cut and all, but it ain''t MOI if you kwim. But it was TOO long before. I''m thinkin'' a few inches longer than my last cut before this will be good on me. Gimme 6 months & it''ll be there.

I think I keep messing with my hair because I''m unhappy with my appearance. Like cutting my hair will make 17lbs disappear. RIGHT! I just need to EAT LESS. Oh well, I''m teaching 3 spinning classes a week now, that should help!

Misspinky: your baby is adorable! Totally inspired me to try and pony D''s hair. She has a teeny tiny wisp on top. LOL..Poor thing...looked more like Alfalfa from Little Rascals.

Ella: you are so funny...thanks...I feel so wretched looking these days. Jelly belly + short hair + 20 year high school reunion in less than a week = freaked out Diver. I bought me some new spanx and some great Mac lipgloss & shadow. Anything to help!! LOL.

If you don''t like hormones (and they don''t agree with you--they did NOT with me either) try Yasmin. (not Yaz--that''s weird too). I tolerated Yasmin beautifully & it even made me lose about 2lbs when I went on it. Periods were non-existent, PMS was drastically reduced.

I''m doing the Vitamin D, Calcium & magnesium, fish oil supplement combo to help with my PMS. this month is only sorta bad...instead of really bad. I only yelled at Jake & the dog once.
11.gif

Apparently 1200mg of calcium a day is supposed to reduce PMS symptoms by 50% after about 3 months. (it also reduces breast cancer risk) and magnesium helps it absorb, and Vitamin D is good for mental outlook in higher doses, and fish oil is just the shizz anyway. I wish my vitamins came in liquid droppers, I hate that I take 5 million pills. My LEAST favorite part of the day.

I am soo tired. I have to teach cycling at 9am, so I''d better turn in.

Later!!!

Hello mummies!! Just have to remark on what beautiful babies you all have. Lili I loved the pic of Jade in her nappy.

I was also wanting to ask about post-partum periods for those of you who have had them (sorry if this borders on TMI). Since I had my kids I''ve noticed that mine are much heavier in general. They are actually less painful than they were before pregnancy (I used to get fairly bad period pain now I only have mild discomfort), but they are so heavy. I''m sure they weren''t like this before. Also my cycle seems to be all over the place (although this could be because I am really bad at keeping track now).

Anyone else notice this? Both times after giving birth I got my period within 5 months which seemed pretty quick to me as I was still breastfeeding.

Softly: Mine were a mess for months after D. Still kinda wonky & she''s almost 11 months old. I''m not on any BC cuz I had my tubes tied. But the first 2 I had scared me, so heavy I could not leave the house & 2 nights in a row I woke up in a puddle of blood. (sorry TMI) I must say, that $120 super duper waterproof mattress cover I was forced to buy at Sleep Country to validate the warranty on my fancy mattress worked like a dream! And I''m glad I have it!!! But now its not as bad, but I do have a heavier day or two.

Although after Jake, they got lighter...so go figure.

Hi Ladies- been keeping up on your adorable family picutes!!! Tooooo cuutee- I can''t believe how fast everyone is growing- I think it''s so awesome that the younger babies are all around the same age- lots of support/understanding of what is going on with your babe.

I am registering on babies r us and wondering about this highchair- Qtieeki I think you will like it because it is orange. Tacori I wanted to ask you your opinion cause I know you have a love for high chairs. I saw a boon on the site too with a pneumatic lift- is that what you have? I was first thinking of just getting the little fisher price on that straps onto a regular chair but I think this thing is cool and it lasts until 3 y o. Moms- how long do your toddlers need some kind of booster or special seat? Can I justify this since it can last for a while? Thanks for your input!!!
Here is the linkie(hopefully) http://www.mhome.it/eng/video.swf

diver- i think your hair looks great, but i totally get wanting it longer. I actually wish mine was a bit shorter. it felt shorter while I was getting it cut but when I saw the pics, i can''t really tell it was cut at all. o-well. to get the ringlets, he used the curl creme and then sprayed a touch of hairspray in my wet hair. he sectioned it off and then twisted strands of hair into the ringlets. then they laid my chair down, totally felt like I was at the dentist and should have opened wide..lol...and then used the difuser to dry it. he said when I style at home I should just flip my head upside down. I really like it though and it really looked liked i spent an hour curling it.

Pave - I have a thing for orange baby stuffs. hehe. The Inglesina high chair and the boon flair are both on my baby registry. But there's not much reviews on the Inglesina since it's pretty new. The video makes it look so awesome though. I am waiting until after our baby's one-month celebration (in case someone decide to get us the high chair) before I try to convince DH to buy one of the cool high chair.

snlee - when is your EDD again? If it's still hot when you are due, then I would get more than 3 nursing tanks. I got 3, and they don't last me the whole week because I sweat through them. I agree that you should get them in your pre-prego size since they are pretty stretchy. I am about a 34DD now and wearing size small nursing tanks.

QT, I''m due in October so it won''t be hot. Good to know a small fits you and is stretchy. Burk, lili, and QT, thanks for your input. I''ll get 3 and see how that works out.
