Ladies,
Did any of you used nursing cover? If so, are they worth it? If not, what did you use to cover up while BFing in public?
I know people say they just cover up with a receiving blanket, but I don't like that I can't see her and how it doesn't stay up or in place. Is there a way to use receiving blanket so it stays up well?
I think I have heard of that...but that isn''t for the 1st birthday, right? I think it may be early on...like 30 days?Date: 8/12/2008 11:16:47 PM

TG: In Chinese culture they do a Red Egg and Ginger Party. I never heard of it. DH''s sister is married to a Chinese man and their daughter just had her first child. It is a big celebration with lots of people there and lots and lots of food.

lili, if the gift bag is good, I''m taking it!
I wasn''t going to do the Korean ''Tol'' (first birthday celebration) but tonight I did an image search and the babies all look so cute in their Korean outfits. Aww. I wouldn''t mind spending $1000, but anything more than that, I can''t handle the thought. I''d rather throw fun parties when she can enjoy them.
ETA, whoops, hit submit too early. I''ll let you know what I decide on the carseat...doing the research right now and deciding between the marathon and boulevard, with the boulevard most likely winning out.
So, so true lili. Maybe I''ll just get some pictures done with the outfit and forget the party. I really didn''t want to do one anyway. I think I''d rather just do a small intimate thing and take lots of photos of our family.Date: 8/13/2008 1:34:43 AM

Hehe, Amelia would be cute in those outfit.
I think Lisa from the preggo thread had a picture of her Olivia in it.....so cute.
$1000? Just deduct it out of her wedding fund
Very true about spending the $$ for fun parties for when they enjoy it.
I think the first bday parties are more for the parents to show off their little one.
I told hubby that we are not doing a big party cuz I''d rather spend the time celebrating Jade''s bday then entertain guests.
So many times I see parents going doing a big shindig for their kids...and what do they get out of the day?
Just one picture of them and their kid during the cake ceremony.
Ok, thanks in advance.
Figure I better get her a bigger carseat as she''s falling out of her current one.

Yep, you did spot some curls. It''s weird because there are some really stick straight parts and some curly parts...when it''s humid it''s all curly and so cute.
I''m thinking the boulevard would work well for both of us...but I have heard that some babies don''t like the extra side wings, so I think we should take the kids and try out the seats. I also like the fact that the blvd seems to have an easier adjusting mechanism for the harness height.Date: 8/13/2008 2:09:26 AM

That''s a thought.
You get professional shots of her in her outfit too!
Oh hey, forgot to ask if Amelia ever got over her spitting.
Was it overfeeding?
Yep, the carseat sits on the side because of the LATCH system too.
So the boulevard then?
Oh I should have KNOWN by reading your post this morning that I was going to have a trouble with Amelia sleeping today.Date: 8/13/2008 10:21:30 AM

Lili-- re; tantrums--i am having one of those mornings too--Co woke way too early so i tried to put him to sleep again, he threw a HUGE fit and was screaming in a way i haven''t heard before so i picked him up and he was soaking wet-peed thru his diaper (poor bug) so i changed him but he continued throwing a tantrum. I tried a few things but he was frantic so i offered him the breast and within 2 seconds he gave me a smile and then barely ate anything and would not got back to bed. Sheesh, he''s manipulating! So, he''s way off schedule now and grumpy! He seems to be doing this sort of thing more often now, i can''t figure him out. Hope it''s just a phase. I am tired this morning
I think reactions from breastmilk are pretty rare, but doesn''t hurt to try omitting it for a while. Have you always had dairy? If you were eating milk products i wouldn''t think it would be the yogurt. Maybe the soy, i''ve read it is one of the most mucus producing plants.
Tacori--welcome back, we missed ya! I bet you are happy to be a home body for a while. I get stressed just thinking about long plane rides now
