MSB--i froze the puree in ice-cube trays then i put them in the extra thick freezer ziplock bags. I labeled and dated everything and so it should be good for a few months. I also froze some little bags of breast milk that i will use to mix with his rice cereal when he gets to solids?

Lili--have u noticed that J has slept longer now that she is on cereal???

Tacori--i am not going to start berries for a while. I think b/c they are very fiberous and acidic they have a higher risk of reaction. I''ll start with mild veggies and fruits. If you don''t want to freeze stuff my mom said she bought a hand-puree thingy (kitchen shops must carry them) when i was a baby and she just smushed up soft fresh fruits (banana, peaches, plums, mango etc.). That might be something worth trying.

MM--get cooking, can''t let all that wonderful fruit go to waste. That''s great that you have all that growing on your property! Sucky that Amelia doesn''t take good naps, but be very greatful for that nighttime sleep. She must be getting all she needs at night.

Tgal--i didn''t think anything would be worse than shopping for maternity clothing at 8 month preggo in the dead of winter but hell was i wrong! PP clothing shopping is much worse! Iam sure everyone can relate to that shopping experience. I think we all have to eventually accept that most of us will never look the same

. Even thou i''ve lost most of my weight my body shape is wacky and i just feel soft and icky. I think my feet got bigger too! What''s that about?

Speaking of babies destroying your body. i have to go get my pelvis checked next week (x-rays, physio, ultra sound ) i hope there is something i can do. B/W my post-partum sleep issues and this pelvis thing i feel like i''ve aged about 20 yrs in the past 5 months--i am a 29 yr old with a limp and bags under her eyes
15.gif

Jas12, T is old enough now I just cut a banana (or other things) in small cubes and she feeds herself. My dad (a doc) says your feel don''t grow, they get flatter from all the weight. Another thing no one talks about! My feet are 1/2 a size larger...or flatter I guess.

T slept from 5:30 pm to 9 am last night
32.gif
must be b/c she doesn''t feel good. Trust me this is NOT a common event.

Tacori--ohh, flatter feet, that makes some sense i suppose...guess all that extra weight had to do something
6.gif
.

On the topic of PP body changes: No hair loss for me--i am in the clear right (ha! i''ve just jinxed it, it''ll start tomorrow
3.gif
) and no period yet either. I did get 3 huge zits the other day (i haven''t had any since before getting pregnant!) and had trouble sleeping again for a couple of nights so i think my hormones are up to something. I am really not looking forward to that.
Here''s a question: did using tampons for the first time PP hurt?

Jas, my feet did that too. I feel like I want to write and cpmplain to somewhere!
9.gif

Do those belly wraps works for PP tummies? I was thinking of trying one when the time comes since it can''t hurt! Not sure about wearing it 40 days, but hey if it works.

No time to read and/or respond to all the posts I''ve missed, just wanted to say I''m alive!

Between school and volleyball tryouts, I have barely had time to eat, so no PS time for me. Things should slow down in the next week or so and I''ll get all caught up with everyone!

BURK! BTW I keep forgetting to tell you, Carter has zipper sleepers up to 24 months. I picked up a bunch. I got a few at a department store and a few at the Carter Outlet. They have both fleece and cotton.

Tacori, don''t worry...your DH is not alone in clueless land. Most of us have seen our men hop on the bus to la la land.
20.gif
And Tessa must have needed some rest, poor thing...wonder if that will continue? That''s a lot of sleep!

Thanks for the info on teething. I''m not sure this is it. She''s eating fine today and naps are back to normal somewhat. But oh my god, last night...
39.gif
29.gif
. I could see why some crazy people want to throw their kids out th window. She woke up at 11, 12, 2, 3, 4 and stayed awake til 6. This hasn''t happened...ever! I''m blaming QT on asking about 4 month sleep regression...you started this girl!

She pretty much woke up and played by herself most of the night. I would not have been concerned except for the roll over thing, which she did all night long. I may just have to leave her that way and have her figure some things out.
41.gif

Jas, that is so awesome you prepped all that food...wow, you go gally. And you are awesome for losing the preggo weight, although I do understand and believe you when you say things have shifted around funny. You look great to me, but everyone knows their own body best. Oh, and my entire body from the hips down have a lot of pain, but I think I am going to blame it on the extra weight I am still carrying.

MrsM, your DH shops for you?
30.gif

Hiya Burk!!
35.gif

Your babies are all older, so I have nothing helpful to respond to.
1.gif

I was cleaning out my closet yesterday, and I tried on my pre-pg jeans and they don''t fit. A couple of them fit, but I am not loving my muffin top. The other ones can''t get pass the thighs. I guess it''s maternity jeans or yoga pants for a little while.
8.gif

M slept from 10:30pm til 5am. I was shocked. I wasn''t sure if I should wake her up to feed or not. I ended up not waking her up. When she woke up at 5am, she must had been really hungry because she fed on both breasts for a long time.

Don''t mess with a good thing!

I think it''s just a one-day thing. Because a few night before, she kept waking up every hours. But I''ll certainly take it when I can.

Hiya Burk!!

TGal, he shops way better than I do and he''s much less stingy than I am, so it makes sense to send him! He works in the city and has access to real shops. We live in a village, where I can choose between the post office and Kebab Kings.
8.gif
He comes home with cool stuff that I would never have looked twice at but which makes me look way better than anything I would have picked out. I love that!

Tacori
That''s such a cute pix of Tessa in your avi
5.gif

By the way, I think doing the cupcake thing for her first b-day is a great idea.
I was thinking about going that route myself.
Which means that I have 8 months to find a good recipe for cupcakes and learn how to bake and decorate.

TGal
Sorry you had a bad experience with shopping,
but look at it this way, at least you are out shopping for something.
I''m still living in my nursing tanks and stretchy bottoms
7.gif

Think I''ll be in them until I weaned J
41.gif

Interesting about the feet getting bigger post pregnancy.
Is it post pregnancy or duirng?
Could it be that we don''t notice it since we''ve been in flip flops since preggo?

Sorry to hear that Amelia''s joined the sleep regression club.
Hope it''s a passing thing. Sounds like her schedule is back to normal today.
I''ve quit fighting with Jadie to get her to nap in the day time.
She''ll go down when she goes down.

Jas12
Wow, great job with the baby food preparation.
Co will have a good stash waiting for him when he''s ready for solid.
So are you still going to wait until after the cruise to get him on solid?

I''ve been giving Jadie one serving (1 tsp) of rice cereal a day.
Usually give it to her in late afternoon around 4:30.
It''s more like a mid afternoon snack for her.
The point of the rice cereal feeding is just getting her used to eating solid
so that she get something to eat when she''s at the daycare.
Yep, I''ve given up trying to get her on the bottle.

She wasn''t really sleeping longer when I introduced the rice cereal.
Still waking up every 3 hours to eat, but I think she''s nursing more for comfort.
So I tried weaning her of the night-time feeding the last 2 nights..
will let you know how successful I am with it later.

Great job with the weight loss!
I think I''ve still got about 6 lbs left....
but then again, I was underweight pre-preggo....so maybe I''m at a healthy weight right now
41.gif

Body is definitely storing more fat then before though.
Flabby stomach, arms and legs.
Then there are the sagging milk bags

Jas12
Ahhh....you poor thing.
Thought that the sleep issue was behind you.
Hope the dr. has some answers for your pelvic pain and insomnia.

And even with bags under your eyes (which I definitely didn''t see in your pix), you are still an attractive little thing.

MrsS
Hope the move went well and your family is settling in nicely in your new home.

Got a question for you two Jas12 and MrsS.
How often and long are your boys feeding?
I want to get a gauge as to how much I should be feeding J here.
It''s hard when you are BFing huh?
Can''t really tell how much your little one is getting.

Tgal
How much is Amelia drinking these days?

I have never managed to get Amelia to nap in the afternoon. Not once since she was born. She sleeps well at night, from 9pm to 7am, then she wakes fpr a feed and goes back to sleep until 9am. She'll doze on my lap for ten minutes after a feed in the afternoon but if I try to get up and put her in the crib she's wide awake! My mother claims that I never took a nap either. I'm deeply grateful that she sleeps at night but an hour or so in the afternoon would be bliss. She just doesn't seem to be tired. Any ideas??

Sounds like my J here.
I guess we both have what people would call a catnapper who naps for less than half an hour.
J would doze off while nursing and since she takes about half an hour to eat (because she takes break in between suckling), that is pretty much her nap.
You are lucky that Amelia is already sleeping 10 hrs straight before getting up for a feeding.
I've tried days getting her to nap in the day, but it only drove me nuts doing so.
So I just go with the flow for her.....if she naps great, if not, then I'll just have to play with her, unless she appeared really fussy.

I''m not loving my muffin top, either. I fit into only 1 pair of my pre-pg jeans and had to give all the others to my (skinny) sister. I couldn''t stand the thought of wearing maternity jeans much beyond 2 weeks postpartum so I bought new ones in a bigger size.

I wish James would sleep as well as Meena! He''s still up about every 2-3 hours around the clock. I don''t get the luxury of sleeping.

Question for BTDT moms - how do you know when you''ve crossed the line from baby blues to PPD? I''m just not happy these days. I''m tired, I''m frusterated and I''m constantly on edge. I cry a lot - not really about James but about life in general. Things are haywire over in my neck of the woods and I''m just done with all of it.

Old Navy is having a jean sale today only...$7 for baby and kids and $12 for adults! It was busy but worth it.

Does anyone know where I can get a PLAIN red onesie?

Lili, thanks

Tacori: The new picture of little Tessa in your avatar is adorable!!!!!!

I want to kiss those cheeks of hers, but you can do it for me. She is such a beautiful little girl.

Linda

Thanks Linda! I will give her extra kisses when she wakes up from her nap

Thank you so much! I can''t believe how fast this year has gone. She is like a mini person now instead of a baby.

Tacori, so funny you say that...I think I may have mentioned that I have a friend whose son is two weeks older than Tessa. I told her yesterday that her baby is no longer baby, but a little BOY.
30.gif

MrsM, you are a lucky woman...and I do say, a lot of men do have an eye for what looks good on us. TGuy may not shop for me but he is always good to provide an opinion when asked and he''s usually right.

lili, I don''t think my feet are bigger (longer) but they seem WIDER, which makes sense to me because they spread out in my flip flops! To answer your question on formula, I give Amelia 32 oz a day (four 8 oz bottles). Sometimes she takes all of it, sometimes she doesn''t. Doesn''t fuss me too much because she is obviously growing.

Diva, what''s BDTD? I am no expert on PPD, but I can tell you my own experience. For the first 6 weeks of Amelia''s life, I was unhappy, cried a lot and definitely a lot more easily pushed over the edge. This is SO not like me. But honestly, I was sleep deprived and MISERABLE.

I didn''t particularly like Amelia, but I loved her and CARED about her, so I wasn''t too concerned about PPD in my case. And when she really started to LOOK at me, the fog cleared. At about the same time, we moved her to her crib (so I got to stop sleeping on the couch), got the OK to feed her only when she woke (I was doing 2.5 feedings until then and it took usually an hour to feed, leaving me about 1 hour 15 minutes to sleep) and started getting sleep. I don''t know...everything sort of starting coming together at her 6 week mark and I started to see progress and a real baby/person instead of a blob, if that makes sense.

Things went totally back to normal yesterday...I think I mentioned she took all her feedings and naps and went down easily at 7 and didn''t make a noise until after 6 this morning, so who knows what the previous day was all about.

Hey there ladies! I''ve been terribly busy lately between work and planning ian''s first birthday party. I just read a few pages...but thought I would jump in and tell Tacori about the best solid onesies, tops and pants anywhere. Ian lives in americanapparel stuff. The colors are great and they are totally unisex and not ''baby'' colors. I usually just order online...the nearest store is a drive and I dont know for sure if they even sell baby stuff.

There is a concert in the park tomorrow night (same park Ians bday will be at) and we are going with some other babies and kiddos. Should be fun. Ian isnt walking but he is cruising like crazy. We just got him the leapfrog alphabet train and its amazing...he loves it!

Hope everyone is doing well, Tgal, I can totally relate to your feelings of overwhelming...I had them quite a bit the first 6 months and wondered if I was PPD. I think in a way it is good that I am back to work, it really made me feel more normal. Everyone is different, and I miss being home but it really is what is best for me (for now anyway).

mentioning work, i bought more fat pants today. Its employee double discount and I got a pair of Hudsons, Joes and some cute tops for just over $100---SCORE! Jeans suck. I think it is worse than swimsuit shopping. My baby is now 11 months and I''m still not back in my regular jeans...nope. I''m now a 30. this is my new life, at least till i stop binging on sugar and avoiding the gym.

TGal: Glad to hear Amelia slept well last nite!! maybe she was just having one of those days :)

Jas: Thanks for the info..i do the same (the ice cube trays) and was wondering if there was another method out there that i should know about :)

Tacori: Love the avatar!!...have u tried out baby gap for the plain red onsie? (Hows the cold btw?)

janinegirly: cant comment personally about the belly wraps as I havent tried any, but i know some ppl who did and were very happy with the results...

Burk: Good to hear from u!! we miss u around here...

qtiekiki: hopefully that wasn''t just a one time thing ! =)

Diva: I''m not sure what BTDT means either, but i had a rough time at the beginning as well..cried at the drop of the hat and during those long nites when little K wouldn''t sleep or feed i really wondered why in the world i thought i wanted a baby..but things did somehow get better after the 6 week mark..im not sure wat happened, but he finally started to get a pattern and i managed to work things around that and i finally felt that my life was in order..(again lack of sleep did play a major role at the start and when i finally managed to get at least a nice stretch of 5 hours of sleep,i finally managed to see things in a brighter light)..I hope you feel better
7.gif

question: While weaning, ive heard time and time that you can give ur baby 'cheerios'...now please explain this to me as i am TOTALLY not getting this (yes, i can be dense like that sometimes)...

so we just give them the tiny 'cereal' to chew/eat? (im assuming we're talking about the plain cheerio, not the honey coated ones rite?)..okay, does the baby not choke on it? what if they can't bite it into smaller pieces? do you soften it in milk first, or give it direct out of the box?? im just really stumped about this cheerio thing!
40.gif

TGal, makes me a little sad....

MsF, I can TOTALLY relate on the baby front! I would love to lose all the weight by her first birthday...we''ll see
20.gif

msb, my mission has just begun so I will check there. I checked Old Navy (boy''s) no luck. Everything had writing on it. We feel MUCH better, thank you! This is T''s second cold. Not bad I guess. I give T cheerios just as I do the cereal puffs. They dissolve in her mouth though she does "chew" them. She seems to like them and has never chokes. Plus it is good practice (gripping, picking up small things, etc). Regular, do not give them honey nut as they cannot have honey or nuts the first year. My dad explained the honey thing (though it is only with raw I still would not risk it). They can react to the spores and stop breathing. Scary.

Diva, my experience was similar to Tgal''s. I was very overwhelmed for the first 4 months or so.

Re: American Apparel baby clothes MsFlutter I am so glad someone else loves the American Apparel baby stuff too! American Apparel has the most adorable single color onesies, t-shirts, etc. We just found out we''re having two boys and I''ve been scouring everywhere for boy clothes that don''t have slogans or writing on them. Not so into the cutesy stuff personally for babies.

AND two tips: There are always coupon codes online for their online shop, and if you''re ordering a lot Amazon actually has GREAT prices on the baby stuff, but you do have to pay shipping since it''s coming from a different merchant, so it''s worth it to weigh out the prices in both places.

I''ve just placed my first order for some fuss free outfits for the boys (don''t worry, I got 6-12 month! We''ve already been warned about the abundance of infant clothes at showers).

Tacori Here''s a plain red one from them:
