Thanks fisher! She does have a lot of personality. Good luck TTC!

Tacori~Oh ya, I''m sure I''d find plenty to buy for a boy. We are actually not in total agreement on how many kids we want. I really would like 3 and DH thinks 2 is the perfect number (and a boy and a girl would be perfect in his eyes). My SIL just found out she''s having another girl so part of me thinks since they will have 2 boys, we''ll probably end up with 2 girls. We''ll see I guess. How about you guys?

Tgal~We PS gals DO have great taste and adorable babies!
3.gif
Bumbos are great! We fed T in hers for the first month or so of solid feedings.

lili~I can take some pics of the others and post pics. I love them because they keep T''s bangs out of her eyes. Can''t wait to see what you get J!

I don''t even want to think about the teenage years. I teach middle school so I am fully aware of what I have to look forward to. It''s not really denial if I''m choosing to be in it, is it?
2.gif
9.gif

Burk, we haven''t decided either. I kind of only want 2 BECAUSE I hated pregnancy/L&D. Then again I know every one is different so many I will have a great experience the second time. I have a feeling if I have a boy we''ll be done, a girl DH will push for the third. I would be fine with 2 girls. I would be fine with a boy and a girl so I guess I am in a good situation
2.gif

Thinking about having a teenage girl scares me too. Don''t teenage boys go through a similar phase? I think there''s a time when teenage boys hate their parents too.
39.gif
I''m not looking forward to having teenagers, boys or girls. Ok, must stop thinking about that now!

Tacori and Burk, love your new avatar!

You guys are so bad....now I want the "mint chocolate" one for T...

Yeah you know, I never hated my mom. I always had a solid respect for authority which included both my parents and all my teachers. I don''t even remember being embarrassed by her...I just thought she was unhip, but weren''t all moms?

I KNOW I am going to be the most unhip mom to Amelia no matter what I do. I see myself turning into my mom before my eyes. I am now too lazy to keep up with technology and will be one of those moms who can''t perform the our generation equivalent of programing the VCR. I don''t know who the latest and greatest movie/rock stars are. But what''s worse...a mom like that or the mom who tries *too* hard?

I want one child. Well lookey-that...I got one! But I can see myself missing having a baby and going for number two, which is SO not a good reason to have number two. God, does pregnancy and L&D sound truly 110% HORRIBLE to anyone else? Even though I''m a porker, I love having my body to myself again.

Speaking of which, a serious diet starts tomorrow (well, actually tonight). Anyone with me? Oh yeah, the rest of you don''t need to diet! Hmph!

Tacori~We are BAD influences! So, I'll help and say GET IT!!! As far as more kids...you are in a good situation. Every pregnancy and labor is different and your next one might be a breeze (especially compared to what you went through with T). It's probably best to just let it happen. I kind of hope we have another girl because that might be the leverage I need to push DH into number 3.
3.gif
We just went on a walk and we were talking about vacation next summer and I was saying how I don't want to be in the looking fat, not really preggo phase of preggo while on vaca in July and DH was like, "what, you'll be preggo then?" His math skills must suck since we're planning on starting to try again after T is one....in February! Men.

snlee~Thanks. Both boys and girls typically do go through the phase. Best not to think about it I've decided....especially after phoning parents of my students who are so frustrated with their kid!
6.gif

Tgal~I didn't really ever hate my mom, either. I rebelled a little against her rules for my freshman year of high school. She says now she didn't really like me that year.
2.gif
But other than that, we have always had a pretty good relationship. My mom is one of my best friends. Talk to her every day.

She likes it! (or at least is thinking hard on whether she does or not!)

T-Gal. Love the picture of your hubby and Amelia. She is just tooooo cute and your hubby is darling too.

I still can''t figure out what color her eyes are. I cannot believe she is going to be 10 months in a few months.

Oh Tacori, this is the sweetest picture of precious Tessa. Her eyes just sparkle
30.gif
She has the longest eye lashes too. She is just a beautiful child.

Linda

I swear ladies...our millions are to be made in the baby industry. I mean, I post a link to something that may be cute. We find out it IS cute (thanks to misspinky''s review and Burk paving the way) and then BOOM! 30 clips sold, just from the PS moms. It''s viral and it''s crazy.

Judging from the current crop of preggos and what they like, I think I need to come up with a "geekygeeky" line of clips. (Preggo mommas, I only mean that with the utmost of affection, and use the word geeky only because it comes close to giddy..starts with a g and 5 letters, 2 syllables. You all just are so advanced when it comes to education!) Maybe numbers and letters, or a E=MC2 clip. Molecules maybe? Hm.

Any of you have hormonal heat flashes? It''s not THAT hot here in cali right now and I am always unbearably warm and sweaty. Ugh.

Hey ladies,

I just realized that the mom4life site doesn''t specify if it''s the little girl or big girl clips. I won''t care if it is the big girl ones (as I''d use them later) but if you want to wait until I get my shipment to order, I will let you know which they are as soon as I get them.

LOL Tgal. You are so funny. One problem though is that at least two of us nerds over on the preggo thread are having boys! Lots of boys...so we need some nerdy beanie caps or something...

My boys will surely be nerdy though...this is a fun thing for nerdy parents (of course we have them for the nursery already!):

yup NF, I saw your initial post on that, which is why I joked about more "educated" products for you current preggos.

Tgal, we used the Gerber rice cereal with gerber''s infant spoons. I also got a set of take and toss bowls and spoons with travel case. Amelia looks so cute in her swim suit. Looks like she''s enjoying the pool.
I saw the pumpkin clip from the link posted by lili, http://www.onelilcupcake.com/items.php?cat=3&name=Seasonal

Tacori, Tessa is so cute~ she is such a doll...I didn''t know there''s PVC in the silicone so Gerber''s spoon is not safe to use?

thanks lili, but I don''t think my husband will want to walk next to me if I have one on my hair...

TGal: love those pics!!! so cute..(and happy 5 months!)

Tacori: as usual, Tessa is a heart breaker...beautiful girl :) and her eyes are gorgeous (and i agree with Tgal''s comparison to the marbles!)

MrsF: i agree with the others...u look smashing!! (and ur pictures DO look professional all the time :) )

Bobo, lili, Tgal, tacori, burk, Jas12, MrsM, MrsF, LIA, snlee: thank u so much for ur sweete words about little K :)

Haha, I was just thinking, these aren''t poofy bows and stuff.
There''s food if that''s what she''s into -- "mint chocolate'' hehe.

It''s a good thing Amelia is looking more and more like you, else people may think you guys kidnapped her or something

We want 2 as well. Preferrably another little girl, but a boy is fine.

Hmmm....am I the only one who actually find it easier during pregnancy and L&D?
Taking care of J is turning out to be the most difficult.
I kept telling DH that it''s her payback for giving me an m/s and pain free pregnancy and quick delivery.
I hate to think what it''s going to be like disciplining her.
She''s already showing signs of throwing tantrums -- crying with her face buried in the bed

They look like the small girl clips.
At least that's what I can tell from the pictures they posted.
The ladybug one is more cinched in the band for the little girl than the big girl.
Plus, they have the little girl models on their site instead of the big girl.

But like you said, even if it is for big girl, Amelia can use it later on.
Or you can use them

Speaking of which, a serious diet starts tomorrow (well, actually tonight). Anyone with me? Oh yeah, the rest of you don''t need to diet! Hmph!

Says who.
Not only would I go on a diet, I''d join the stroller exercise class too --- that is if I have any energy left after entertaining this little monster for 11 hours a day.

Oh no! This thread is making me want to have baby number 2 NOW! I really, really want another baby. Am I abnormal? Other than a few gripes towards the end, I loved being pregnant. (I'm glossing over three months of morning sickness so severe I had to be hospitalised, detatched muscles, eyewatering back pain etc LOL). It was such a special time in our lives and DH and I were very close and so very happy then (not that we aren't now, just in a different way). L&D was a challenge, but it was...interesting.

I want to TTC now!

Just realised I missed a whole page of this thread, including incredibly cute pics of Amelia in the vwater! And Tessa's sweet, happy face, Gorgeous!

i loved being pregnant..luckily i had a relatively easy pregnancy and delivery..

we are hoping to have 3 kids...would love to have a girl now...I keep hearing that raising girls are much easier than raising boys (girls are more mellow, less prone to tantrums, more quiet...)....i''m thinking anything after little K should be a piece of cake :) i love him to bits but he sure is a handful!

burk: yay for trying so soon!! i thought about TTC after little K was 1, but i realized when he hit the 1 year mark that i just wasn''t ready
32.gif

Hi gals
still trying to catch up--had guests all long- weekend and a lot of time in the sun so i am pooped.

Burk --luv the T pic--you know i think she is so beautiful.

Tacori--cute new avi!

MrsF--that is a beautiful beach shot

Tgal--Ameila looks like she had a great swim! Is it any surprise that Cohen has the same swim chair as A???! I''ll have to find a pic

Tgal-i started Co on rice this week too (Charlie talked me into it--i really wanted to wait) he was clearly showing all the signs for being ready and waking up so much at night i couldn''t argue with that so i decided we would try one tsp and he took it so easily there is no turing back now! I luv the little bird stage when they see the spoon coming and open their mouths in anticipation. Did A like her first feed?
I have to start pumping again (to get enough milk to mix with the formula) but i don''t mind.
U asked about brands of cereal. I choose PC organic brown rice (but i think PC is a canadian brand only) They are not all the same surprisingly. I compared a few and many had lots of extra ingredients.

Re: spoon. Right now i am using tiny stainless steel spoons (i don''t really want to chance it with plastic) but when i find a good brand around here i will switch to something softer in the mouth.
.....

I am back in the miserable world of sleep deprivation. COhen has been waking up SO SO SO often. I am at my wits end with this boy. I have no idea what is waking him. He''s not hungry, he''s not wet or poopy, cold or hot. A good noight might be 3 wake-ups, but last night he was up about 6 times! If i leave him for 10-20 mins he winds himself up to the point of no return (then it usually takes me an hour to calm him down!) and if i go to him right away i can usually get him back down in 10 min or so but i feel like i am reinforcing the wake-up and he has become dependent on me to fall back to sleep. He used to be a pro self-soother--now, not so much.

TGal, come join my in the weight loss thread in "healthier lifestyle". Lots of support and good ideas. I need to lose SERIOUS weight. I agree that when I see a preggo I just think "better you than me" (sorry for the preggo lurkers). I just didn''t enjoy it like some people do. It is such a relief to be over and even though there are MORE dangers out here I think I worry about T less. I seriously got worried over every little cramp, kick, lack of kick.

Burk, in a perfect world my kids will be 3 years apart. I need a break!
3.gif
Plus my siblings and I are spread apart so that''s normal to me. You seem to want the amount of children you come from in the time frame your mom did (though I will have them a tad closer if I go for a third). I love having a sister so I would be happy for T if she got one. If you got preggo in Feb you will be full force preggo by July. I got preggo the end of Jan and my 20 week appointment was in June. My belly was cute then. Sept was when it was getting out of control! But you are tall so I am sure you carry pregnancy MUCH better than me.

Linda, thank you. She has her daddy''s lashes.

Bobo, I did my research a few months ago but I got worried enough to stop using them. I use the take ''n toss 99% of the time. Sometimes I will use my boon or baby bijorn (safe). I don''t mean to freak anyone out. I usually don''t tell my friends if they are using something that is possible unsafe b/c I don''t want to freak them out (does that make me a bad friend?) Also not everyone is as obsessed with it as I am. Just as my friend is obsessed with vacs and orders special ones for her son.

msb, thank you! They are like the marbles. How funny! I heard BOYS are easier to raise than girls. Girls are so much more dramatic and bitchy. I guess it is depends on the personality. I have heard girls are closer and boys kind of keep to themselves. I have seen that with my brother and DH. I think it bother my mom since my sister and I tell her everything and she has to DRAG the simplest things out of my brother.

Lili, I am a SUCKER for circles, dots, etc...so I will pretty much buy her ANYTHING with those. Her bangs are getting long and I think I am going to grow them out so I will need something. It is hard yelling at T. When she is getting into something she should I yell "no!" in a mean voice. Half the time she laughs at me
20.gif
typical. The other half she cries. DH reminded me to be strong. She is not hurt just angry.

MrsM, you are on your own with the TTC front. Talk to me in a year. Haha. Thanks for the compliments.

Jas12, sorry you have having so much trouble with Co! Maybe you should talk to his doc about it. You can mix RC with water too if you are short on milk. My friend who BFed exclusively did that.

Morning ladies...

lili, I do think Amelia looks a little more like me. Probably when her eyes went from blue to brown.

You crack me up though...I saw your preggo pics. You gained no weight girl! I''m sorry to hear that J is giving you "payback." It''s hard to believe she''s difficult because every pic you post, she''s so darn cute. If you hadn''t posted that pic way waaay back then of her crying, I would almost believe she never does.

MrsM, I''m with Tacori, you''re on your own with wanting to TTC again! I want my old body back! Plus I really want to enjoy Amelia for now. Kind of like dating...give it at least a year before you talk engagement, ya know? Savor the moment, etc...

msb, I have heard that girls are mellower when they are babies, but oh the payback when they are teens!!!

Jas, actually the floater isn''t mine, but now that I know you have one, I''ll have to go and get it.
3.gif

Wow, you find all the good stuff. I just bought the gerber that was at babiesrus since I had a $10 gift card. There''s no bird stage yet for my little girl. She''s not quite knowing what is hitting her. I will post a pic of her first feeding once I load my software that can size things down easily. Let us know what you find for spoons.

Re: Co''s sleep. Aw girl, I am so sorry that he''s waking so much. I have no idea what advice to offer...I can only imagine how you feel (Amelia went through 6 wakings in one night a couple of weeks ago and I thought I was going to lose it...and it was only one night!) Is there anything in his crib that might be a distraction? I read something somewhere to make their beds as boring as possible because when they get to this stage, they are so much more aware. The same story mentioned a baby trying to pick at the animal print on his bumper. Maybe he wakes up and sees something and then gets entertained? I noticed that Amelia loves scratching her mesh bumper.

Tacori, if it''s the weekly weight loss thread, I used to be on it all the time before I got preggo. I can''t keep up with that thread AND this one.
8.gif

I take it you did research the take n'' toss spoons? Man, how funny how we come to "trust" one another...I haven''t even looked them up, which is rare for this research queen!!

And yeah...get the mint chocolate! I love dots!!!

Oh, all these babies are just getting more and more beautiful by the day! Tayva, Tessa, and Amelia are all just gorgeous!!! And let''s not forget our men - Ian, Co, and little K are super handsome too
9.gif

Burk, your photos of Tayva looking just too cute with those hair clips inspired me - off to get some today! Found a store that''s relatively nearby so we''re going to go check them out pretty soon. This way, no S&H charges and I get to seem IRL beforehand to see if I even like K in hair thingies. I can''t imagine not liking them, as they are like the cutest things I''ve ever seen.

Jas, I''m so sorry that you''re having a rough time with Co these days (well, nights). It happens to the best of us/them! Hopefully he''ll start STTN soon enough - Gabe started at ~ 4 months if I remember correctly but I know that nursing babies tend to start later. Oh well, even if he''s being a little PITA right now, he''s adorable enough to make up for it, right? ;)

I can''t believe all the April babies are eating solids now!! Wow, does time fly or what?!

Tacori, what type of lunch meat does Tessa eat? We''ve only done rotisserie chicken (pureed w/sweet potatoes) and tofu for proteins - no red meat or anything yet. This week we''re going to try YoBaby and watermelon, and next it''s off to shredded cheese and pasta! For finger foods, so far we''ve done Puffs and Cheerios (never had any problems with either of them - they LOVE them both), avocado, bananas, pears, and tofu. I''m excited to try some new stuff! They''ve got their nine-month appts this Friday, and I can''t wait!!

Ella, good to see you! I was just thinking today that your babies are approaching nine months...wow!

TGal, isn't it funny how we all know each other's "birth" days here? Yet I can't remember any daily activities IRL without writing them down! Ah, Mommy Brain works in mysterious ways
9.gif

Burk, how's Tayva's reflux? It's weird but Gabe has started spitting up every meal now - uhhh ...
33.gif
They say reflux is supposed to get better once they start sitting up but his is actually getting worse/changing! He's not bothered by it though, so I'm not going to worry about it. We stopped with the Elecare b/c our doctor's office didn't have any more samples and we can't afford it, but he started the spitting up before the switch anyway. He's not arching right now at least, so that's good! I think he's jut putting more pressure on his belly by sitting and crawling after eating and that makes him hurl. It's colorful to say the least
20.gif

Gabe's new thing is "dancing" whenever he hears music - it's the cutest thing!! As soon as he hears any music, he sits up super straight and starts rocking back and forth with a big smile on his face! I have to say that this age is awesome. All you mommas of younger babies, take heart -- it really does get more fun as they get older!!!

OH, and to go back a few pages - Diver, you looked so pretty for your reunion!!! LOVE your hair, and you rocked the whole ensemble perfectly, my dear! And holy crap, is Delaney's invite cool.

Mrs M~Oh yea, I've wanted another since T was really young. I knew I wasn't really "ready" but I certainly felt the urge.....

msb~Yea, we figured we'll start trying around February and see what happens. We got preggo right away the first time, but you never know what will happen. It takes most of my friends at least 7 or 8 months to get preggo....

Jas~Thanks! So sorry about Co's sleep habits. I wish I had advice.

Tacori~So funny you mention wanting kids like your family. That is exactly why I want 3 and DH wants 2....what we came from! My family is 2 girls and a boy (I'm the oldest) and my sister and I are 3 years apart. I used to think I wanted my kids to be 3 years apart as well because I love my relationship with my sister, but DH wants them closer together and I really feel like we'll be ready. We'll see. If I did get preggo right away in Feb I am sure I'll be in obvious preggo mode come July. I'm worried that it'll take us longer to get pregnant this time since we got pregnant so quickly (and not really on purpose) the first time! Oh, and the barrettes....I love them to keep T's bangs out of her eyes. Poor girls has hair in her eyes all the time and I don't think I want to cut her bangs. The barrettes really work.

Ella!! So good to see you around Lady!!! Post pics of the barrettes you get for K!! I love them. Sorry G has been a spitter, but at least he isn't unhappy. T still spits up here and there, but not terrible. Just lately she hasn't really been eating well, but I'm not sure if it's because she doesn't feel well. No arching or crying, though, so I'm not so concerned yet. We have an appointment with her pedi GI doc next month and I'm going to ask about switching formulas because it is getting SOOOOO expensive and overall she is doing so much better. She really has become the easiest, happiest baby since all this tummy crap. The girl doesn't even fuss when she's tired any more. Just so happy.

TGal, you KNOW I made sure the Take ''n Toss are safe
2.gif
They are even listed as BPA free on certain baby shopping websites. I also really like the size of the spoon. So which website did you say was the best for the hair clips?

Ella, she has tried turkey and I got ham. I figure since they make baby food with all the meats and my pedi suggested lunch meat it''s okay. I do nuke it for 10 secs though (like when I was preggo) She loves YoBaby and LOVES colby cheese. I do not mush anything up just cut or rip it into little pieces. I gave up on avocado and bananas for now b/c they are so slippery. I have given her different gerber graduates stuff (apple pieces and yogurt melts) she likes those.

Burk, most teachers I know try to have spring babies so that the summer is right after their maternity leave. Is that rare? I will say being in the 3rd tri during the hot months was hard. Just a thought (though I will always have fall babies b/c of our insurance). I think I am going to have to order some. It will make my MIL happy. Haha.
