hello everyone. hope you are all enjoying your holiday weekend.

the pictures are aweome. msb those curls are beautiful! what a sweet little man! and tavya is stunning. seriously. how old is she now?

Tgal- how was WI? did you know that is where I am from? Glad amelia enjoyed the pool. Ian went in the ocean for the first time today. He loves the water. DH and Ian take swimming on Saturdays at SouthBay aquatics on artesia and love it. You should check out their website for the futire!

Q- Ian hated tummy time. HATED it. he would scream and scream. I was convinced he would never crawl. I hardly ever got 5 minutes a day in. He was a late crawler, he didnt crawl till a few days before 9 months...but overall I just didn''t stress about it. NOw he is almost walking!

Sunscreen- I know it seeps, but I have used it since Ian was 6 or 7 months. I use rash guards and hats as well. but he is so fair and we spend a good amount of time at the beach! We were supposed to go spend time with other couples from mommy and me at the beach today, but DH didnt want to go where they were (big volleyball tournament) so we went to another beach on our own.

and of course a beach pic. its the only one of me that you cant see enough of my body to realize how HUGE i really am...

tiny beach mommy.jpg

Tgal, I picked pumpkin barrette because I think that''s the most masculine one from the link you posted. They are all so cute and I really want one but I guess it''s no gonna happen.I wonder if it''ll look too much on my hair (a 30 years old mom with a pumpkin barrette..hmm....) Happy 5 months Amelia!! and yay on rolling both ways!!

msflutter, I don''t know what you talking about, you don''t look huge; you look great. Ian is soooooo cute~

Little B''s been calling mama and baba(dad in chinese) when he want to be picked up or when he woke up from his nap...It really melts our heart to hear him call us out like that but I don''t think he know what that means yet, I think he just know by saying that he''ll see us running toward him and smiling like two idiots..

Finally have some time to try and catch up while T naps.

Tummy time: I think all babies are different. T was always a tummy baby. She liked sleeping on DH and I's chests from day one and always liked tummy time. I think whether a baby is "into" it or not it won't effect development...milestones will happen whenever they're meant to happen for that particulat baby.

Tacori~Thanks! So cute about Tessa the model. I agree!

Tgal~Glad work is good and your trip was good. I think we worry about how horrible it is just because it's mommy nature...but it all works out. I actually kind of like being back at work....kind of!

RE the carseat-T was way happier once we put her in the convertable carseat (right before 6 months). Oh, and I got the barrettes at that Chloestyle website someone posted. Their communication was great and I got them within a couple days of ordering. You have to post pics when you get some! Happy 5 mo birthday to Amelia!

msb~Cute pics! Looks like K had a great time at the water park! Thanks for the compliment. I love to shop for her!

Bobo~Too funny you tried to talk DH into a pumpkin barrette!
9.gif
If/when you have a girl you'll know where to find them, though!

Mrsm~Thanks so much. That is such a sweet compliment.

lili~Thanks! I sometimes think I dress her better than me!
3.gif
I do love the clips....are you going to get some for J?

princess~How sweet of you! Thanks!

msf~Thanks! She is 7 months. That pic of you and Ian is so cute!!! You seriously have the most professional looking pictures. I love them!

Okay. I think I got everyone. I was soooo far behind. BBQ was fun last night. I just hate that you clean to have people over just to clean up after them when they leave. Argh. Tayva loved all the people and hammed it up as usual. So overall a very good night.

MsF, what camera do you have b/c your photos are always so awesome! I think you look great. Ian is a clone of your DH isn''t he?

Well, I think T and I are going to go on a walk. She was a crab at the supermarket. And a binky down. Didn''t notice she didn''t have it until I was in the parking lot. No biggie. Good thing she has 1,001 and they are cheap. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

OK, really quick for giddy giddy barrette shoppers...

Chloeinstyle has the best selection. The pink on white one that Burk got is not available anywhere else. However, they are $9 per clip with the most expensive shipping ($10).

Mysweetmuffin is the cheapest at $8 a clip with 4.99 shipping.

HOWEVER...

Mom4life.com has a coupon link on retailmenot. It''s 10% off the order which brings each clip to $8.10 each and free shippingo on the entire order. Decent selection, but not as good as Chloe instyle. (which had all of my fave clips. I didn''t get to order any of them at mom4life, but I made do with what they had since it was so much cheaper). I initially wanted the ladybug, white flower with pink, yellow flower with orange, blue duck, and garden. I''ll show you what I got when the order comes in since I got 6 totally different clips from what I wanted!

I looked at each of the other links from giddy giddy. Most had a poor selection and 6.95 shipping. Some places were $10 a clip, or you had to buy the clips in set pairs for $16. No online coupons that I could see for any of the other links.

I will let you know how my order comes in...hopefully it gets here this week! It was cheaper than buying local (there''s a store around here that carries them I think) since there was no tax.

Hey gals..

We are going to try rice cereal today...any recs? I figure they are all the same but it wouldn''t hurt to ask.

I want to buy some munchkin spoons (Tacori, I remember you recommended them) but babiesrus only has sassy spoons. I''ll see what''s at our regular grocery store....

Oh, here''s a couple of pool pics...

TGuy putting her in for the first time...

PreLaborDay_018.JPG

She likes it! (or at least is thinking hard on whether she does or not!)

PreLaborDay_034.JPG

I still can''t figure out what color her eyes are. I cannot believe she is going to be 10 months in a few months.

T_10-months.jpg

TGal, I actually like the "take 'n toss" stuff. ALL safe plastics. I never used munchkin spoons. I just use Gerber RC. I don't think it makes a difference. She is so cute in her little bathing suit. That is the same floaty we have. Adorable pics!

ETA: OH! I did use their color changing spoons. PVC in the silicone. I stopped using then and Gerber's when I found that out. PVC=lead
38.gif

i don't usually post here, but all of your pictures are SO CUTE!!!!
tayva is so gorgeous and i LOVE her outfit!
msb: what beautiful curls!! such a cutie.
ms. flutter: what a great pic. your son is adorable and you look fantastic!
tgal: LOVE the water pics. cool water toy. she is so cute!
tacori: who cares what color they are...they are GORGEOUS!!!! beautiful!!

MORE PICTURES!!!!!

ETA: went back 2 more pages and saw the great pics of jake and bobo and cohen! LOVE THEm!!

Thanks Lia! Hope you are doing well. I do love the color. But it is hard to describe them. They are bluish, greenish, grayish, with some freckles. Would that be hazel? My doc says the color is usually set by 6 months but can change the first year.

I love all the pictures too!

Love all the water pictures - msb, MsF, and TGal! Your little ones are so cute!
Burk, I love the picture of T with the doggy. So cute! And I love her cute hair clip too!
Tacori, it doesn''t matter what color T''s eyes are. They are gorgeous! She is beautiful!
TGal, can''t wait to see the cute little hair clips on A. All this talk about those hair clips makes we want a baby girl. Girl stuff is just so much cuter!

tacori: i think that''s a perfect description! :)
from the picture they really look like gray-green. hazel does NOT do them justice!!!

and i agree with snlee...i''m thrilled about my little boy, but a girl would be so much more fun to shop for!!

Tacori great new avatar of Tessa, such an adorable pic of her!! hehe She looks like she has grey blue eyes to me.

Tgal, ah, what a little water baby, sooo cute!

Tgal~Cute pool pics! Sooo funny the flower, ladybug and garden were your favs, that''s the three I got! :) Can''t wait to see Amelia''s! Good luck with cereal! T wasn''t real interested when we first started but I started mixing a little bit of pears in and she loved it. Now, she eats oatmeal with all her fruits. Oh, and post pics of cereal time!

Tacori~Such a cute pic! T has that same onsie.
21.gif
I''d say greenish gray. Whatever they are, they''re stunning.

LIA and snlee~Thanks! Boy stuff is cute, but girlie stuff is crazy fun....but so hard on the pocket book! Although, I''m sure I will find away to spend lots of money on a boy if we''re lucky enough to have one
3.gif
9.gif

Ladies, please, please keep the baby pics coming. These kids are adorable!!

Tacori: I think Tessa''s eyes are gray. I looove how shiny and happy babies'' eyes are.

snlee, in 13 years all the cute stuff won''t matter. You will be sitting pretty why we are dealing with little snots. I am reading a book right now where her 13 year old daughter hates her and I know (as hard as it is to believe with my sweet girl) there will be a day she hates me and it makes me sad. Luckily I hear they usually come back. Thanks for the T compliments.

Lia, same applies to you! Haha! Oh, her eyes are also rimmed in navy blue. Very unusual. My eyes are SOOO boring so I am glad her eyes have some personality.

Skippy, thanks friend!

Burk, thanks! Boys have there own expenses I''m sure. Do you guys want one of each?

MMMD, sometimes I think the are hazel b/c they do change slightly. Some days they are very blue, some very green, some very gray depending on what she is wearing or her surroundings. I actually always thought they would be gray since they were a bluish/gray when she was younger. The green started creeping in maybe 3 months ago. She is a very happy girl!

Burk, doesn''t surprise me. We PS women have great taste. I love those three (especially the garden) but I think I will enjoy what I bought...will unveil later this week!

I have to say ladies...I didn''t realize how much I rely on you ladies until I was at babiesrus. I was sitting at the feeding section looking at spoons. Tacori, I was looking at the spoons and from the brand you recommended, there were regular and color changing. I was trying to figure out which I wanted, and wondered if the color changing ones might be "bad". I couldn''t help but think, damn it...I wish I had Tacori''s number!!! I need help! Bought the regular ones with a travel case because I didn''t think I needed 21 spoons just yet. Hee.

More later...about to start the FEEDING. Hehehe..

TGal, haha! Wish I could give you my number!
2.gif
I have the travel case too and I got a big pack. I LOVE the travel case. Perfect for feeding on the go (holds 4 spoons). I also have used the bowls and will use the plates one day. Boon products are all safe too. I have their spoon/fork set. I think it will be good once *she* starts feeding herself but I don't really like them. The handles are too short and the spoon too wide so it is messier. They are cute though.

ETA: Luckily you won't need me soon. BRU vowed to go BPA/PVC free in 2009. Will make shopping MUCH easier!

ETA 2: I meant to say over her photo she will be 10 months in a few DAYS not months (obviously)
41.gif

TGal
Awww....those pix of Amelia in the pool are sooo cute.
She does look like she''s kicking back and observe the world.
She''s sooo tiny next to TGuy
5.gif

Ok, now my question is, how is it that her hair is auburnish when you and TGuy have jet black hair?
3.gif

Happy 5-mnth and yay for her turning over both ways.

Thanks for your review on the different online vendors.
I''ll have to see if mom4life has any other styles (since ladybug, duck, and garden are out) that I like.
Can''t wait to see what you selected for A.
Oh, answer to your question about how these clips can stay on baby fine hair.
I think because the felt provide the necessary friction for the snap clip to grip on, so that the hair doesn''t slide off the metal clip.

Ha, I was thinking the same about the color changing spoons.
End up getting the regular ones with the travel case since I don''t know what type of material the color changing ones are made of.
Figure I won''t be feeding J anything hot at the moment.
Didn''t want to kick myself in the rear later when I read reports about some toxic material it used
32.gif

Let us know how she likes her first rice cereal.

Tacori
I don't know what colors those peepers are, but they sure are purty.
Looks greenish grey to me.

Wow, 10 months already and going to be eating on her own soon?
Geez....it was like yesterday when you were in tears because she was taking her time coming out
41.gif

Her hair is getting pretty long too.
She could use one of the giddy giddy clips.
Hehe, like Jas12 said, all the girlies on her should get one of the clips and we'll have a giddygiddy club
9.gif

Oh, thanks for the info on the color changing spoons.
Good to know.

Bobo
Too funny about your DH''s reaction to your wanting to get little B a clip.
And I don''t think you are too old for a giddygiddy clip
5.gif

MsF
Cool pix of you and Ian on the beach.
Like others have said, I don''t know what you are talking about being huge.
You look great!

Burk
Are you going to post the other clips?
And yes, I''ll be getting some clips for J too.....just don''t know which ones yet.

Lili, I am not really a bow girl *gasp*. I would be careful with all silicone covered spoons. I believe nuby ones are safe. I would have to look it up to see which one though. Makes me angry we even have to worry about this stuff.

I remember begging her to come out too! Now she is almost not a baby anymore
15.gif
As for feeding she does a lot by herself (like puffs, cheese, lunch meat, bread, pasta, rice, gerber graduates stuff) but most of her diet is still from formula and baby food. Not sure when I will let her hold her own spoon. She is so funny and says "MmmMmmmMmmmm" the whole time she eats. The girl likes her food!

OK back!

Feeding went well! Bumbos are the handiest things ever!

Tacori, I don''t know what color Tessa''s eyes are either. But they remind me of those really cool marbles we used to play with when we were kids. You know the pretty blue gray ones with green and brown swirlies in em? Yeah, I know, I''m a Tessa fan!
1.gif
Can''t believe she is going to be a year soon...

Re: the barrettes, I''ll share what I got now...that way you know what the selection is/was at mom4life. I got:

Strawberry (pink)

Blue Butterfly

Red Flower

Yellow on green flower (not the shape, but the flower on the background felt)

Watermelon

Cluck

If I really really love them, I will go back and find the garden and the ladybug (which are the two I really wanted) or check back and see if mom4life gets better stock later on. For those of you who want to buy there, the pickings are getting slim (they update what''s in stock as orders come in), so either go buy soon or wait until they get another shipment. I''m going to check during the week to see what they get in and will keep you posted.

I tell ya though, I''m not a shopper and even I have to admit girls are pretty fun to shop for!

Bobo, I didn''t see a pumpkin...but it''s still funny to me that you said that.

Re: kids hating us later...I am SO aware of that. Boy am I enjoying this baby stage...I am going to miss it later on in life for sure. It''s pure joy and delight.

lili, I have NO idea why her hair is so light. Everyone on TGuy''s family has really dark hair. But TGuy''s mom was in a foster home and doesn''t know who her dad is, so there is a big mystery over on that side of the family.

Be back in a bit..almost bedtime. Going to try Born Free level 3 nipples. All in all a big day for my little girl.
41.gif

TGal, aren''t bumbos the BEST. Seriously awesome though I did never use the tray. Oh well! I know what you mean about pure joy. That''s how I feel too. In that photo she was crawling towards me just smiling.
16.gif
She is such a ham and loves her mama (and daddy for that matter!) Just have to remind myself during the "tough" years

Huh? Aren''t we gonna put em in a home or something during those years? (I hear it''s called BOARDING school.

)

TGal, I am sure it will be tempting. My 10 year old neighbor is ALREADY giving her mom crap. The mom is stressed to say the least. Honestly I know I went through a phase where I was *embarrassed* by my parents but I don''t think I ever *hated* them.

I was just looking at some photos of T and my heart felt like it was going to explode. I just love that little girl so much!

Tacori,

That is the cutest new picture of Tessa. My goodness, what a little personality she has.

I just love coming over to this thread to see the precious babies. Thanks for sharing them, ladies. It makes all of us smile.
