Hehe, J got 10lbs cheeks too....(I mean the other cheeks

)

MrsS
Look at how big Jake has grown.
He''s such a handsome little guy.
Hope you guys settle in soon and get your wireless up and running.
We all miss you here.

Jas12
Another handsome little bug.
Hehe, love those au naturale shots of Co.
DH hates it when I took nekkid pictures of J -- calls it kiddie ****
38.gif

I think you are right about J needing to be in the thick of things.
That girl just does not sit still.
Her eyes are always darting back and forth looking for things to get her hands on.

MrsS: good to hear from u and congrats on the move...love that pic :)

Jas: how cute is that?? he looks like he loves being in the nude =)

Ella: good to hear from u! would love to see more pics of G and K!

Sk8rjen: hey :) good to hear from u..not too long to go and ull transition over here =) must be exciting!!

Tacori: Tessa is growing up so fast!! u know, though going down to one nap doesnt sound too great now, but honestly it REALLY frees u up to do a whole lot more coz u dont have to worry that by being ''out'' ur not giving her the opp to have a good nap...when little K went down to one nap, it seemed like i had SO much time in the mornings to do so many other things (run errands, visit friends, go shopping, etc...)

Diver: yay!!! congrats on the great tickets =D...

Hey gals...

I haven''t even caught up on this thread yet (saving that for a glass of wine tonight while curled up on the couch) but wanted to stop by again to say hello.

At O''Hare right waiting for my flight home (first class, yay!). Can''t wait to see my girl.

It wasn''t as bad as I thought it would be to leave her. I thought I''d be in tears, but TGuy was feeding her and I simply kissed them both goodbye. When my mind was free, she consumed my thoughts but I was pretty busy a lot of the time and had to focus on work. This might make me sound like a terrible mom, but it was kind of nice to have a "vacation!" Talked about adult things with my colleagues, enjoyed cocktail hours and nice steak dinners. Even more, I loved actually putting on decent clothes, doing my hair and even did my nails! (They are getting trimmed and unpolished as soon as I get home though sometimes I stick my finger in Amelia''s mouth.) And of course I slept like a rock in the hotel room!

I asked TGuy if Amelia had been ok at night and he said she was sleeping through no problem but that he was waking up several times a night. He said he kept waking to check on her and now he knew how I felt. I was like HA! Welcome to my world! When I am home he sleeps like a rock because he knows I will be on alert for her. Honestly, this trip was the best thing for me...I know things won''t fall apart when I leave and TGuy has had to take care of her without me as a safety net. Neener neener.
3.gif

I do think I must be a strange mom though...I didn''t show pics of her to anyone (unless asked and even then I just pointed to the one on my computer desktop) and rarely talked about her. I still don''t think babies are interesting to anyone else but their mothers (and other moms like the ones on this thread, of course!)

I''ll catch up with all of you later...nice to see so many of you have been checking in and I love the baby pics of course.

MrsS, oh too bad! I thought we were going to meet
15.gif
Sorry you are homesick. Hope you love your new home and city. Moving does take adjustment!

Diver, congrats on the concert tickets!

Skippy, I know, I know! I have been a bad mom. I really need to take some more pictures.

Jen, hope you can cook those girls a little longer. Good luck!

Jas12, such cute photos! I love his bald head.

Jas, thinking of you and your *new* family. Hope you are getting lots of rest!

Lili, aren''t those so cute! I think they will be perfect for her halloween themed b-day party. She will not be dressed as a pumpkin
2.gif

msb, you are right. One *longer* nap probably will be better. She took a really short morning nap today (30 mins?) I just can''t wait until it is a pattern again. I like patterns.

TGal, glad your business trip went well. I felt the same way when we went to Cabo. I missed her of course but didn''t fall apart like I thought I would. Enjoy first class lucky duck! Warning, A''s going to look so big after being gone for a few days. She will be SO excited to see her mama.

By the way Tessa has a new bad habit
38.gif
Every time I feed her she will rub her hand across her mouth and stick her tongue out with the glob of food on it. Messy! If I switch flavors she does the same thing. It is only the first bite. Like it bothers her she can''t prepare for the taste. I need to break her of this!

Lili: haha, Jakes lashes put D''s to shame. Always the boys!!! They get those from mommy....I wanted long legs, but got long lashes instead. Although they are thinning with age. lovely. As far as tummy sleeping, as soon as both my kids could flip on their bellies, they slept on them. I always put them on their backs, but they''d flip in the night. My ped told me not to worry.

MSB: Awww what a sweet new avatar. He is so handsome!

Tacori: Well, my feeling on messy eaters is that you have to let them get messy. Learning to eat is a multi-sensory adventure. Taste, smell, and yes...touch. Part of learning to eat is learning what happens when you smush food all over your mouth, head, face, etc.

More work for you? SURE! But...much less stressful in the long run. Just roll with it. They definitely grow out of it.

One caveat, when they start tossing food, mealtime is over.

I have some friends that are horrified that their babies get dirty while eating, and mine look like they just rolled out of a pigpen post dinner. Daners is usually a big old "dirty mess" (as Jake calls her).

I did the same with Jake & now he gets so mad if he gets anything on himself. He''s a very neat eater. I also don''t allow food anywhere other than the kitchen table.

Just a thought...you can tell me to take my dirty baby and get lost!! LOL

Tgal: glad you enjoyed yourself. I want to go visit my bff in LA & I''ll be leaving the kids with Steve. We are just waiting on a couple of trips that have to happen Oct/Nov so I can book my tickets.

Later!

Jeannine

Burk, the pictures of the baptism are so funny! The faces she''s making are hilarious!

TGal, glad you had a good business trip. I sounds nice to have a break from motherhood and it''s great to know that TGuy can care for A without you.

Jas, I love the bare tush picture! Co is adorable! What a happy little boy!

Tacori, I''m sorry T has developed a messy habit but I am laughing envisioning T''s feeding time!

We did a load of baby clothes laundry and since then I''ve been having lots of dreams about our baby. I can''t wait until he''s here and for him to wear all the cute baby clothes we''ve bought! I''m getting really excited to meet him!

Can''t wait to officially join this thread!

Thanks Jas, hope you and your MIL won''t have too many clashing...love Co''s naked pix, looks like he really enjoy to be be back to nature.

lili, if J see this post I bet she''ll say "it''s the diaper that''s making my butt look big)

MrsS, love your handsome little guy!!

Tgal, Amelia will be so happy to see you, with a big smile

Tacori, I bet this bad habit of hers must looks pretty cute.

here is little B from last night...next to him is his sleep buddy keykey

Diver, I agree and try not to be (and don''t think I am) a controlling mom. If you remember the photos from T''s first feeding sessions I let the girl play and get MESSY! But I still want to whine about it. I can tell my her facial expression she is processing the flavors and she *only* does it with the first spoonful of each new flavor.

Snlee, don''t wash too many. That was a mistake I will not make next time as she did NOT wear half of the clothes. You can make more money selling them with tags than not

I can''t wait until you can join either. Enjoy these last few moments alone, in quiet, be lazy and selfish! Trust me. He''ll be here soon enough.

Bobo, I love little B. So cute and happy! T has a sleep buddy too that my mom brought back from Italy. I need to try to find a replacement *just in case* but am having no such luck. She adores it. Rubs it on her face and uses it as a little pillow. It''s pretty cute.

I don''t know if all of you still go over to the preggo thread, but just in case you don''t...

JACKIE IS A MOM!!!

She said the boys are perfect and ''smooshie'' and that she had the best labor ever and the drugs work wonders. Also, she says her heart isn''t ''big enuf.'' Awwww!!!!

Will let everyone know when I hear more.

CONGRATS JACKIE AND THE WHOLE JAS FAMILY!!!

Congrats Jas, I''m so happy for you!

mrss~Thanks! Moving is so stressful. Hope you get settled in soon! Oh, and Jake is such a handsome little man!

Jen, glad you grounded the girls. They need to stay put for a little while longer!

ha ha ha ha ha Tacori, LOVE that Tessa. Babies love to play with their food. Wait until she starts to put it on her head, or did she already do that? My grandboys used to throw it at us. I used to have to walk out of the room, because I would start to laugh.

TGal
You are not a terrible mom.
Enjoy your "mini vacay".
You''ve been with Amelia 24/7 since she was born (with the exception to a few hours that your mom babysit).

Bobo
Little B''s grown so much.
He look so mature and happy in the new pix.
Hehe, he looks a bit like my nephew with his haircut.

By the way, how''s his reflux?
Is it getting better?

Diver
Well, then they are lucky to have pretty genes from their momma.
My sister remarked "That lady is gorgeous!" when she caught a glimpse of your picture with your new haircut.

Snlee
Yup, agree with Tacori about washing your baby''s clothes.
Don''t wash too many (especially the newborn and 3 months).
Most babies grow out of those in the blink of an eye.
If you have the tag on, you can exchange them for bigger sizes.
Some places will let you do that even w/o a receipt.

Tacori
Hehe, we''ll have to see pix of Tessa''s new bad habit.

Thanks lili, I know, he looks so happy in the pix. I told my DH the only I wish for little B is that he stay happy forever. I think his reflux is getting better since he turned six months. Maybe it doesn't bother him that much as before.

Thanks Tacori, little B used his sleep buddy as pillow & chew toy. He only like this one, the rest he just toss aside and don't play with.

Thanks Burk!

Tacori and lili, thanks for the heads up about not washing too much baby clothes. I think we''re okay, as we didn''t buy much in newborn and 3 months sizes to start with. I hope we have enough or we''ll have to do laundry very frequently!

Tacori and Burk, I''m enjoying the quiet, lazy, selfish time and sleep too! When you''re on bed rest you have all the time in the world for that. I know my life is about the change big time, so I''m enjoying this time to myself.

Quick Jackie check in! She''ll be home on Sunday and will post pics then. She did say that she had a caesarian because Jackson flipped and his foot came out during a contraction. (
6.gif
) I''m not even having kids and that makes me cringe... Oh, and her in-laws are still being poopheads. (Geez; you think they''d give the girl a break! She did after all just produce two grandbabies for them!)

Thanks Dee, can''t wait to see Jackie''s beautiful babies. I don''t now the story on her inlaw''s, but so sorry they are being poopy. That is no way to act to their daughter- in- law. Maybe we should sick Diamondfan on them.
9.gif

Linda

Thanks DeeJay for the update.

JackieJas.
Ouch about the foot
14.gif

and boo about your poopyhead in-laws
38.gif

Rest up and see you sunday.
Can''t wait to meet your little boys!

Linda, she does get it in her hair sometimes. So gross. She hasn''t thrown food at us but I have to be careful not to make her laugh b/c she will spit it at us sometimes
20.gif

Lili, I will try to take a picture!

Snlee, honestly it isn''t just the early stuff. She has unworn clothes for every size up to a year (which is what she wears now). Spoiled girl.
1.gif

Jackie/Jas, hope you are doing well. Sorry about your inlaws! Kiss those boys for us.

ha ha ha ha ha Tacori, YES, they LOVE to spit their food at you. My daughter used to get upset at that antic. When I used to babysit my oldest grandson, I used to laugh, which made him spit more. I was horrible with those two boys, my mom was even worse.

I peruse this thread but don''t usually post. I just had to say the photos just keep getting cuter!

Oh I''m so behind in reading the thread. It''s moving too fast for me to keep up.

We went to M''s 1 month appointment today. DH and I were betting on her weight, and we are way off. We were guessing 8lbs 3oz and 8lbs 3oz since we figure she''ll probably was gaining 1/2 oz a day or something like that. She is 10lbs 3oz, so she gained 3lbs 4oz since her first appt at 6 days old. We are kind of surprised.

Tummy Time - When you do tummy time with your DC, how do you position the head? on the side? or looking forward? Everytime I put M on her tummy to do tummy time, she falls asleep. How do I keep her awake?

MrsS - Jake is adorable. He is such a big boy.

Jas - Love Co''s smile. He must be a happy baby.

Bobo - Little B has pinch-able cheeks. LOL on the 10lbs cheeks. I think M is gaining weight with her cheeks too.

lili - Love your avatar. J''s hair is a riot, so cute. I can''t wait til M has more hair. Well I just want it to even out because the hair in the front are still pretty short, but are longer on the side and the back. Look kind of funny.

Tacori - T always looks so precious in your avatar.

CONGRATULATIONS JACKIE!!!!!
I''m so happy for you both, I hope you make a speedy recovery and that you''re loving every minute of those precious newborn days.

Jas, I love the picnic pics. He looks so happy! Sweet boy!

MrsS, Jake is growing so fast. Do you have any more pics of him with that great big teddy? I thought that was such a neat idea, to watch him grow next to it.

Qtiekiki, Amelia isn''t much better with tummy time, she will either wail or go to sleep. Now that she''s a little bit older, I found that a glove or finger puppet will hold her interest for a little while. I put her playmat on the floor and lie down beside her and make the puppet ''talk'' to her. She giggles for a few minutes then loses interest but it''s a few minutes more of tummy time that she would otherwise tolerate!''

Jen

Linda, yeah it is funny but can get messy!

Q, T hated tummy time so I rarely did it. It did not curb her development at all. She always had a strong neck even as a newborn. I have the boppy tummy time mat. Cannot remember her head position.

Proud mommy moment: My SIL just moved and the cable guy came to set up her cable. He saw a photo of T and asked whose baby it was and said she is pretty enough to be a model
16.gif

QT
Hehe, J has the opposite problem.
Her hair is actually long on the top and short on the side and back.
And slightly bald on the back from all those time that she threw a fit when we put her down on her back
41.gif

She sure is growing fast. She''s a good eater there
5.gif

Are you doing her Ginger and Red egg this weekend?
Can''t wait to see updated pix of her.

RE: tummy time.
Ideally I think you want them to look forward.
That way it sorta forces them to lift up their heads and work those neck muscles.
When you place their head on the side, usually they end up following asleep -- tummy sleeping.
One thing you can do is do tummy time on you.
Sit in a reclined position and place Meena on your chest, that way she get to look at you.
May help to keep your interest and stay up.

Hehe, I always tell you that Tessa is a beauty and doesn''t need some fancy schmancy photographer to make her look good

Were those the pictures that you look at the mall or something?

Hiya gals...

Might have to break this post up as I am trying to catch up on a week''s worth...

msf, love the invite for Ian...can''t believe he is one. And a 30 eh? I WISH I was! Hope work is going well for you...

msb, I think that cheerios are considered great for babies because they can''t choke on them. Maybe because there is a hole?

Jas, you have Co going to sleep at 7-7:30 now? That''s great! I think his and Amelia''s schedule is similar.

Burk, being back at work is cool...easy actually. We''ll see how it goes when things settle down and get regular though. Haven''t had a full week in my home office yet. And thanks for the info on teething...I don''t think Amelia is there yet...just was cranky for no reason, I think!

I have the opposite issue with Amelia...she''s been saying "uhm-ma" (Korean for mama) since she was 3 months old and says it a lot now. I''m trying to get her to say dada because I think TGuy would like that, but she won''t say anything other than uhmma!

Diver, yes, I think they will be our babies forever, but there''s such a small window when they ARE babies. I am so trying to enjoy this time. And LOL to your friend naming her baby Yoda. My friend named her son that thing from Lord of the Rings...the one that lurked in the shadows and loved the ring...you know which thing I am talking about? And her son kinda actually did remind us all of him, which made it all the funnier.

Sorry to hear about your reunion...but you looked hot! Stories like yours are why I don''t bother going to mine. I wasn''t popular with anyone until I got to college and I am still very much a loner at heart. I don''t care for highschool or anyone from it!

LOVE that pic of Delaney looking at her tummy. Hehehe. I noticed as they get older, the pics get cuter and more hilarious.

OK, done with page 49...off to read page 50 after I check on the kid....
