Oh Bobo, my heart goes out to you and little B.
You two have been going through some rough times.
Hope little B feels better really soon.
Keep us posted.

Burk
I''m sorry you are feeling down about work and having to put T in daycare.
Just hang in there for a couple of months til Nov.

QT
Sounds like M is "mommified" as Jas12 has coined it.
It''s hard leaving your kid for a while, but sometimes we got to do it.
And it''ll get easier for you and your baby.

Diver, badabing! You're going for hot to hotter eh? Congrats on the 2.5!

Hehe, was thinking the same thing.
Diver, is it the 30shred plan or the fact that you are teaching gym that's helping with the baby weight shred?
I forgot, are you teaching aerobics now?

Hospital pics; ok, I guess I missed this..my hospital didn''t even offer this! I know no one here who does! of course I spent about $500 bucks having a fancy private baby photographer do fabulous pics of Jake when he was 10 weeks old. (I didn''t find her early enough to do newborn shots) and she did D''s shots at 10 weeks too. (I wanted them to be the same..lol)

Since you mention it...
can you post them for us to see?

I was thinking that perhaps we live less than 15 miles apart.
Maybe one of these days we''ll run into each other in Target or BRU

Jas 12, MrsS, Curly, Tacori, Burk, Lili, Tgal, QT, thank you so much for your input on my list. I have been collecting suggestions from online lists and “Laugh & Learn about Childbirth” (she suggested the pillows and birthing ball), but the list looked crazy long to me. I don’t want to take 2 suitcases for a 2-night hospital stay, LOL.

20.gif
It’s good to know I can safely nix several items.

We are doing our hospital tour tonight, so I should have a better idea of what is at the hospital and what I need to bring. I hope the TVs have DVD players so I can skip the laptop. In the past year, a couple of friends have had very long labors and they said they watched a lot of movies to kill time. I do plan on getting an epidural, but the Dr. prefers to wait until 3-4 cm if possible, so I thought the birthing ball might be a good option for a change of position before I get the epi (hopefully the hospital will have them though).

When I mentioned a photo op, I was talking about DH and I taking pictures of her going home. I didn’t even realize there are photographers at the hospital, LOL – thanks for the info.

Thanks for the heads up on the granny panties. I didn’t even think about needing high waist underwear in case of a C. I just went out and bought cheap low rise hipsters to hold the maxi pads because I have been wearing low rise underwear that fits below the belly the entire pregnancy.

I will probably need a nursing bra to sleep in, if not at the hospital then shortly thereafter. My chest has grown to a DD/E during the pregnancy, and I suspect they will get bigger with the milk, so I need some support. Do you have any brands/styles to suggest? I usually wear an underwire, but I guess that might not be comfortable to sleep in.

Bobo--my gosh, i can''t believe how much you''ve gone through. I am thinking of you guys. Maybe you''ll breeze through the toddler stage to make up for all the stressful infant stages you''ve endured! Keep us posted
and if it makes you feel any better i had a rough night too. misery luvs company....

Cohen had a stretch of several nights of ''good'' (and i use that term lightly) sleep but last night was BAD again. He was up every hour from 11 till 3:30. At 3:30 i decided to let him cry for a while but it was a different sort of cry (a tired, distressed cry) i picked him up and he was tugging on his ears a bit and was wide awake and was only comforted when i held him so i tried till 4:30 to get him back to sleep. He finally did, only to re-wake at 5:00. I decided to give him some motrin and that finally did the trick--he slept soundly till 8. I think i have a teething baby on my hands and it''s a loooong process. He was out of sorts yesterday, not napping or nursing properly but seems to be like himself today (at least till the motrin wears off
3.gif

Tgal--welcome back. My hospital photo experience was more like yours. It was a roll- table with this gawd awful tye-dye like paper and some old, crusty lady who volunteers to take the pics. She really pressured us into getting them. I said no but Charlie, mister sentimental, had to have them. They were over priced and fugly. I look back at those pics and think "no wonder i din''t really like you, you weren''t the most attractive child"
2.gif
9.gif
just jokin (kind of)
and no, i didn''t think you were being insensitive about the sleep thing at all. I admit i have sleep-envy, but i don''t begrudge u for it! I''d be telling everyone if i got 12 hours sleep--SOMEday i''ll be reporting that on this thread!
4.gif
and yep, i''d still be tired too. Weirdly enough i have *more* engery on the no-sleep days. I think adrenaline gets me through.
I wonder if/when we start to feel 100% again. Probably like the sleep thing--different for everyone

Lili--Co is getting so hard to keep entertained these days--he isn''t amused with much for long and wants to grab everything in sight. I was thinking geez, Lili has been dealing with this for weeks (maybe months) have any tips? What does J like to do/play with?

Diver--i am going to check out the 30 day shred--sounds fun. 20 mins is nothing--and 2.5 lbs in a week is SO good! Way to go!

Kay--oh ya, your boobs will increase *at least* another cup size when your milk comes in. A lot of us used taget nursing tanks for the first months of motherhood ( and some of use haven''t taken them off yet--wink wink Lili) as for bra brands i think it''s best to just go try a few on and buy one size up. I personally don''t wear them and i am still nursing so i wish i hadn''t bought 3 expensive ones but u may luv em.

MrsS, I just scrolled back a bit farther and saw Jake’s 5 month pics with Mr. Bear and your doggie – he is so adorable! I love that you are doing monthly pictures with the same bear to document his growth. Now I have to run out and buy a large stuffed animal before Wiggleworm is born.

Lili, the tub shot of you and J is precious! Very cute hair clips too.

Jas12, Co looks so excited about eating – too cute!

Tacori, that’s so cool that T stood on her own and you and your husband both got to see it.

MSB700, glad to hear K is doing better. That sounds like a scary and frustrating experience – what an idiot to park blocking others in. Good for you for scaring him – hoped he learned a lesson.

Diver, glad Jake is ok. I don’t blame you for wanting to hit your hubby with something heavy.

Burk, sorry you are feeling down. I have to go back to work after 3 months leave, and I imagine it will be very hard.

Bobo, so sorry to hear little B is sick.

Jas12, I will definitely buy same of the Target nursing tanks everyone raves about. I thought I might need a bra too, but maybe not. Maybe I’ll go get fitted at Nordstrom – they are good about returns if it turns out I don’t need it. Then again, I am going back to work after 3 months, so I can’t live in tanks forever.

I can''t wait until I am officially a mommy. After 8 months of pregnancy I am ready for the next stage!

Bobo, I am thinking about you. Hope little B is doing better.

Kay, please avoid the under wire nursing bras! Any LC will tell you this but from someone who has CHRONIC clogged milk ducts the under wire can do lots of damage. I bought two expensive ones from destination maternity and maybe wore them once. I LIVED in the Target tanks. I liked that my tummy had coverage when I nursed b/c no one wants to see my chub. Also your hospital probably will have birthing balls. I had a fairly short labor so we never watched the movies or played the cards I brought. I am sure you will get a better idea after your tour. Have fun!

Jas12, T is so busy just you wait! I fondly remember the days when she would just sit in her car seat calmly. Now she wants to move, play, talk, eat EVERYTHING in sight.

TGal, hope you are sweet Ame are doing well.

Ha...my guess is it''s something more like 5 miles...

More later...

Tacori--Co is just exiting the "plop in a chair'' stage. He wont stay in his bouncy chair any longer, he rolls all over the floor and gets bored after 10 min in any one position even when i am playing with him. I just feel like iam running out of things to do with him. I can only imagine how that gets harder, Tessa is in the thick of that right now isn''t she? The learning to walk stage scares me!
Is she saying ''no'' to everything now that she''s discovered that skill?
3.gif

Jas12, I can''t figure out if she knows what "no" means but she does shake her head a lot. I guess she learned it from me. It''s pretty cute though. Her FAVORITE thing is to wave. She waves at everyone and says "Baa, Baa." Do you have an exersaucer? She lived in that thing for months. Also the leap frog learning table is great.

Jas12
It seems like Co will have a few good nights and then one bad.
Does he moan or grumble when he nurses? It could every well be that he''s teething.
Speaking of which, J first tooth broke the surface a few days ago!
Yeah, she was pretty fussy (but then again, I don''t know if it is because she wasn''t napping or because of the teething) at times.
She was grumbling for a while when she nurses too until her tooth came in.

As for what keeps her entertained? DADDY :P Haha.
For a while, she likes the exesaucer (which is not much different from your jumperoo).
Now that she''s sitting and moving, she''s really into boxes.
Nevermind the expensive toys we got her, just give her the unopened box and that''ll keep her entertained for a while.
She loves banging on them with her hands.

Do you let Co watch TV?
I haven''t tried it with J, but my nephew is pretty fixated with his programming.
Turned on the tube and he''s sit as still as can be.

How''s Co doing with his solid?
Have you gone to other things beside rice cereal?

And how about yourself?
Any improvement on your pelvic pain?

TGal
I wouldn't be surprised if it is less than 5 miles.
What makes you think that we are that close? :)

Thanks Kay
We can wait for you to officially join us over here.
Just a few more weeks and we get to meet your little girl!

Have fun at the hospital tour.

Tgal~Thanks for the support. I am an anal control freak by nature so it is hard for me to just "let go." DH and I did have a nice talk and I am feeling better about things. Seriously if I didn't know better I would swear I had preggo hormones going on lately...
6.gif
Hope your business trip goes fast so you can be back with Miss Amelia.

Diver~Yes, very busy. It's good that I stay busy during the day or I would probably cry all day long about how much I miss my baby!
2.gif

Kay~So exciting how close you are!

Jas12~Teething is rough! We're working on the top two right now and T is usually a pretty good sleeper but she was up at 4am this morning. I have been a zombie all day. Motrin is our friend for sure! I follow Diver's advice and alternate motrin and tylenol.

Tacori~So funny about the head shaking! My T's new favorite word is "No." She crawls around saying "no, no, no" Think she hears that much?
20.gif
If we put the two T's together they'd have "NO" covered between my T saying it and yours shaking her head.

Because the south bay isn''t that big and if you are not on one edge of it, you''re only about 5 miles away from any part of it.

AND there are only 4 Target''s that I know if in the SB (MB, Torrance/Del Amo RB/South Bay Galleria and Torrance/east side) I''m not far from any of those.

Plus of course I live at BRU.

The one on Hawthorne?
I'm 5 miles from there.

That''s trippy.
It would be something if we run into each other in BRU.
Your orange BOB would be easy to spot

Ok, wow I have two hands free for a moment! Hey all!

Question --

What songs do you like to sing to your kids...for some reason (*ahem* sleep deprivation) I can only remember Twinkle Twinkle and Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Yellow Polka Dot Bikini, which really isn''t the sort of song I want to raise little boys on.

All is well...following the thread, just don''t have much to contribute other than that Logan has gas and the only thing that soothes him is tummy time...which is fine until it''s sleepy time. Ugh.

Logan had his first bath today (I''m a bad mommy and haven''t bathed them in 3 weeks).
Take care, all. I''m here, just quiet/no-handed (babies in both arms) most of the time.

my favs as a kid were itsy bitsy spider, and skinamarinkydinkydink

Some songs I tried to sing are:

Old MacDonald Has a Farm
This Old Man
Do Your Ears Hang Low (don't know all the words though)
ABC
I'm a Little Teapot

Don't feel bad about the bath thing.
We didn't bathe J for the first few weeks too.

thank you ladies! We just got back from the ER of Childrens'' Hospital. His fever hit 104.6 this morning and I couldn''t feel his soft spot so the on call doctor told me to take him to Children''s hospital. They did chest x-ray & urine sample and both turn out normal. So we''re going to wait another 48 hours to see if the fever will break.

Hang in there Bobo. I''m thinking of you and your little one.

Jackie, I am pretty sure you would be good at this, but I just made crap up! Most of the time I am good about rhyming on the fly but if it didn''t rhyme, who cares! Just improvised a tune. For instance, right off the bat, I can think of -

Oh sweetie Logan, you''ve got gas...
Don''t you worry, it will pass.
We''ll put ya on your tummy - fun fun fun!
It''ll help with the noise outta yer bum bum bum!

That kind of garbage.
9.gif
I will make sure to sing real songs once Amelia understands though!

Awesomeness...I''ve been making up songs (my Burp song is particularly poignant), but on days like today when I want something "pre-made" I''m stuck with 50s pop tunes. :)

Thanks for the giggle!

That''s not my creation. I was just browsing etsy, and it''s the only one where the seller shows the back of the clip. I am thinking of getting some for etsy. Here''s more pics of the clip.
