So we went to BRU today to look at the different Britax more closely.
We are going with the Boulevard and we''ll get it through BRU w/ out 20% coupon.
DH likes buying from a vendor with a storefront so returning would be easier should there be a reason to return.
Anyway, turned out we were looking at the wrong Boulevard the other day.
For some reason, the one that we looked at was the Boulevard ClickSave and it has a bucket seat.
J looked like she was sitting in a bucket with her butt sunk in and her knees almost to her chest.
When we browsed around other carseat, we saw the boulevard (w/o the CS) and liked it.

Anyway, when we were at BRU, I was totally keeping my eyes for a BOB with a Irish looking kid

Puffy
What a joy your Brady is.
Love his "big boy" monkey PJ.

Butterfly
Kristina is precious.
Soooo tiny and yet have such pinchable cheeks!
And look at all that hair!
Was it you who told us about the fortune teller predicting this pregnancy when you guys purchased your new place?
If so, just curious if the fortune teller correct in the sex too? :)

aw, the new babies are so cute! Welcome welcome to the world and this thread!

Wait, you are getting withOUT the 20% coupon or with? Do you need one? 20% is a lot to save on that seat! Which one are you getting...the black and beige stripey one? I think that one is a BRU exclusive.

The CS and the regular should look exactly the same, I thought?

Either way, glad you decided. Our girls are tall so I figure they can enjoy these seats soon. And I was at BRU last weekend, so ya missed me! (Plus I don''t bring the BOB to BRU...it''s either the Maclaren or the snugrider...

Jas12
Wow, he must love his cereal :)
I''m trying to get J eat a little more, but she''ll eat like 6-7 of those spoonfuls and that''s it.
Don''t know if she''s full or she just want to be done and get on with her exploring.
Sometimes I think she''d sacrifice food for playtime.

I want to make my own food for her, but who am I kidding.
Not only do I not cook, but I don''t even have the time to clean myself and the house at the moment
41.gif

So how do you store the baby food? Do you bottle them or put them in the freezer?

I think I''ll start with veggies first.
Don''t know which ones though.
Any suggestion? Don''t want to start her on something gross tasting and traumatized her with solids :)
Yet don''t want to start her with something sweet and give her a sweet tooth.

Isn''t it insane how fast time has gone?
A few more weeks and our little ones will be 6-months old.
So how long are you going to continue BFing?

TGal--

Oh, I am going to use the 20% discount for sure :)
Do you know if they give those coupons out every month?
Or is it a once in a while deal?

Anyway, the Boulevard CS and normal Boulevard do look the same.
But for some reason, we tested out with the CS and she just sunk into the seat.
Maybe it''s the adjustment or something.
J didn''t look too comfortable in the CS.
Later when came upon the normal one and noticed that the seat is not as deep,
so we put her in it and it was a better fit.

Awww thanks guys!! Brady is pretty amazing.

Buttefly: Kristina is a precious little one!! Congrats!

Jas: i thought that i would only nurse for 6 months or until teeth came in just because i have heard nothing but horror stories about biting. but over 9 months later, i''m still going at it and love every minute of it. one of the main reasons is because he learned QUICKLY that biting was a no no. i''m sure the next 6 months for you will fly by. and good for you about making your own baby food. i tried and didn''t succeed. how''s Co been sleeping?

Lili: i meant to say that i can''t believe J is crawling already! soon she''ll be pulling herself up on everything and then the real fun begins.
31.gif

Hope all the mommies and kiddies have a great weekend!!

I only see those coupons once in awhile. Just wanted to make sure you had one.

Ah good to know. I wanted the CS because I like the thought of the audible click. But I'll manage somehow!

Oh? Good to know.
I was going to wait for the next coupons :P
I have 2 -- one this week and the other is valid next week.
I will probably use them on the carseat and stroller.

Puffy

Neither can we.
I guess TGal is right about her working on her motor skills instead of sleeping.

It is pretty amazing seeing your little one develop a skill huh?
Her first attempt at crawling was the funniest thing.
She smacked her right arm forward, then smacked her left arm.
Then she grunted and pulled both legs under her body with all her might.
Too bad I didn''t get the camera quick enough.

Thanks for the hair comment.
Brady looks like he''s got a headful of hair as well.
Oh, love his toothy grin

msb & Bobo
My heart goes out to both of you.
You are both STRONG mommies.

Puffy
Welcome!!! Brady is adorable in his big boy PJ.
Hope he''ll give you a break once a while.
Part of me want Meena to have separation anxiety when I go back to work because I want her to want her mommy, but that''s a pretty selfish reason.

lili
I didn''t order the clip yet.
I just ordered some stuffs off ebay, so I don''t want to go crazy buying too much baby-related stuffs.
I have the boulevard in my car for Meena; I like it so far.

Jas
Yay for 6 months of nursing. Is 1 yr your new goal now?

butterfly
Kristina is so sweet, and look at the dark pretty hair (so jealous).

Here''s Meena in her boulevard. We are using a snuzzler with it, so her head doesn''t get bumped around. I think her body would fit fine with the snuzzler.

m_in_blvd.jpg

I feel so behind!

Puffy, welcome!
35.gif
Sorry Brady gets so upset when you leave. I have no real advice. My little girl doesn''t seem too attached to us. She is very social. He looks so cute in his big boy pjs!

butterfly, Kristina is beautiful! You are lucky she was early, Haha!

Bobo, I am SO sorry to hear how sick little B is. My thoughts are with you!!!

Jas12, congrats on 6 months of BFing! That was my goal did. Even though I only went 6.5 months I felt damn proud.

Q, those clips are cute as is M!

Jas, the ONLY two songs T really loves is "itsy bitsy spider" and that name song "Tessa, Tessa Bo Bessa" Both make her laugh and I have been forced to sing them for MILES while driving to keep her happy.

msb, hope K is feeling better! Poor guy!

RE carseats: I got the roundabout. MrsS and LC (who has a TALL kid) both rave about theirs and I do like how it is smaller (for travel AND to see over since I am a shortie). I got it during the last sale and saved quite a bit.

So I am so excited. MIL and I went to some outlets yesterday and I found the PB magazine rack (I already bought one at full price of $119) for $39.50!!! I''ll put that in her playroom!!! I love a good deal. MIL and FIL bought a house so they are moving here for sure. It will be okay (hopefully). They have only annoyed me a few times
41.gif

Butterfly--what a gorgeous baby you have!!!

Lili--making your own food is easy (really!) i just bought a bunch or organic fruits and veg and each night i do a few items. I just wash, chop, steam pop in the blender and then freeze them in ice cube trays overnight. In the morning i pop em out into ziplock bags and label them. It can get messy when u have a whole bunch of things going at the same time (like i did last night) but it truly is easy if u just do an item or two a night.
I''ll just thaw a cube or 2 for each meal. I do that with breast milk now (for his cereal) and it works well.
How long do u plan to BF for?

Tacori--i remember like it was yesterday when u announced hitting the 6month mark for BF (after having so many challenges) you were a super trooper! I had it extremely easy compared to that so i am not overly proud of myself-ha. Can''t be when i know of the stuff some moms had to endure.

Qtiekiki--Meena is so tiny and precious. Yes, 1 year is my new BF goal and i''ll decide after that if i''ll wean right away when i return to work or not.

.......
Just got in from a wedding shower. There was a 2 month old there. She just hit the 8 lbs mark this week. So tiny. I looked at her and thought "wow, i never had a baby that small !" (and i really didn''t). I miss that short stage when they would just sleep for hours in your arms (okay, so Co didn''t do that very often, but it was blissful when he did)

hope everyone is having a good weekend. Inlaws just dropped off an exersaucer
36.gif
should go help them set it up.
My house officially looks like a daycare centre--more toy thingys than furniture now
40.gif

Okay, here is one more picture of her.

Skippy, thanks so much. I was so ambivalent with this pregnancy, but happy that everything turned out okay. YOu are always such a positive person!

Kaleigh, yes, I used to work nights and in May I transferred to a day position and I just seem to be so much busier working days. It seems like I have so little time when I work dayshift.

lili, well, he was right about the pregnancy, wrong about the sex.Oh well, I guess he can't get everything right!!he, he! BTW, I love the black and white pictures with the hair clip in color.

Puffy, thanks! Your guy is adorable!

qtiekiki, Thanks, yes, I had so much heartburn during this pregnancy. I swear I only slept about 4 hours or less at night because it was keeping me awake along with my reflux. You know they say that if you have a lot of heartburn, your baby will be born with a lot of hair.
2.gif
BTW, your daughter is so cute!

Tacori, you don't know how relieved I was to deliver early. It sort of messes up my maternity leave, I was not planning on returning to work until January, but I will have to cut it short now to Dec, but still, I can finally sleep (well, sort of if the baby lets me) during the night without getting up to either throw up or take Tums.
2.gif

ETA: Thanks Jas12, we must of posted around the same time!

IMG_4756.JPG

puffy, what an adorable little boy you have!

butterfly, congratulations! Kristina is beautiful! You are lucky she came early. Were your other kids early? I am so ready for my little one to be born soon. I am tired and uncomfortable. These last few weeks on pregnancy is driving me nuts.

qtiekiki, cute picture of Meena!

MrsS. How''s jake''s sleep going? Did you start fruit and veg yet?

Jas, Jake is doing better...he''s got a running nose now though that wakes him up b/c it''s hard for him to breathe
7.gif
He''s as happy as can be during the day though. I haven''t started the fruit of veggie''s yet. I''ll probably wait another week or two although I want to start him on something other than the cereal so badly.

lili- I''m going to start Jake on sweet potato''s first, then carrots and the rest of the veggie''s to follow. then we''ll do the fruits.

Puffy, Q, and butterfly...love the pics...

butterfly, i hope you can come and join us here more often. I miss seeing ya

I'm exhausted from my crazy life so this is going to be a drive--by. Hopefully I'll have time to properly catch up tomorrow!

puffy~Welcome! Brady is a doll! My T's been having a little separation anxiety too (or at least that's what I think it is) but hers is more sleep related. I'm hoping just a phase......
33.gif

Butterfly~Sooo cute. Just want to cuddle her up. Congrats!!

jas~Glad you popped in! I'm sure you're supper busy with those beautiful boys.

Bobo~keep us posted!

Tgal~Amen. They have to make 'em cute or who'd do it?!?!

msb~Sorry K's had a rough few days. I can relate. T's been sick the past few days too. Sleep. What's that? It's only 9:30 here and I'm about to fall asleep on my keyboard!

lili~Tayva much prefers oatmeal too. Our allergist recommended sweet potatoes first. T loved them.

QT~Cute pic!

Tacori~Yay for the magazine rack find! Gotta love a good deal! How are things going with the in-laws?

mrss~Sorry Jake isn't feeling well at night. T's going through the same thing. Had her in the doc Friday and he says she probably has a sinus infection along with teething! These poor babies!

Okay. Must. Get. Sleep. T's had some rough nights sleep and then I had a volleyball tourney yesterday afternoon and today. I'll try and be back tomorrow to read everything I missed. 'Nite mommies.

Oy, I feel sooooo far behind! I started my last semester of grad school three weeks ago and I feel like I''m drowning in homework. Add that to the fact that my little princess absolutely refuses to sleep more than 3 hours at a time and I wind up exhausted the majority of the time.

Sooo....here is my attempt at catching up...

puffy: welcome! Brady is adorable, and those pjs are hilarious! I feel you on the separation anxiety. J literally starts wailing if I walk out of her sight, even if it''s just into the next room

Butterfly: Gorgeous! Her hair is beautiful and she has so much of it! Congratulations!

Jas: Congrats on the 6 month bf mark! I just reached 7 months and gave myself a little pat on the back.

Lili: Let me know what you think of the Britax. We''ve begun the search for a new carseat (even though J is still a peanut at 7 months and 13 pounds) and that''s one of the one''s we''re considering

MsB: Sorry K''s been sick. I managed to catch a severe cold last week that I proceeded to pass along to the rest of my family. No fun at all.

Tacori: I heart PB--especially when it''s a great find that''s on sale!

MrsS and Burk: Sorry your little ones aren''t feeling well either. Colds coupled with teething is the pits. I feel your pain.

If I missed anyone I apologize--my brain is basically fried come the weekend.

Updates on my end: J is now crawling up a storm and into EVERYTHING. She loves to pull hair (which I of course discourage, but usually don''t catch in time to save the poor dogs from a gentle tug...) and is still madly in love with her bouncer.

Here are some recent pictures of her:

And today at the Mizzou football game (my alma mater and where I''m attending grad school)--#5 in the nation! GO TIGERS!

thanks again for all the welcomes and comments on Brady
1.gif

Lili you are right, Brady has a head full of hair and that''s after 2 hair cuts already! soon enough J will have a toothy grin as well, but i really miss the toothless gum smiles. How is J doing now that her first tooth broke through?
i''m not sure how most people start solids but i did veggies first and started with peas just so that i knew he would eat them cause let''s face it, peas are not so good and the smell of them is pretty gross. so after he had those, i gave him the better tasting veggies then fruits.

misspinky your little girl is too precious! how old is she? it''s funny with the separation anxiety because he is fine when we go out. he is so social, he will babble to others and do just about anything to get some attention, but when we are home, he HAS to be with me all the time.

Burk hope T''s sleep gets back on track soon! and i meant to say that she has the sweetest smile
30.gif

Tacori your T is gotta be one of the prettiest babies i''ve "seen!!"

mrss hope Jake feels better soon, poor little guy.

Bobo how is little B doing? hoping he''s doing better.

any new pics of the little ones? all these babies are too cute!! i *think* i have baby fever.....

Thanks again ladies for all your well-wishes..little K is doing better, but still having some rough nights..poor kid,on top of everything else hes going thru, he had SIX teeth popping out almost 2 days apart..poor thing....

Bobo: my heart truly goes out to you
7.gif
im so sorry little B is going through so much ..hope you hear back about the test results soon!!

Puffy: wat a great photo of Brady!! such a cute kid...

Butterfly: welcome and Kristina is just adorable with her head full of hair :)

Misspinky: wat a cutie pie u''ve got!! love the little bow on her hair ...

Snlee: i''m sorry, but i cant seem to find ur question in the other thread...so if ur still waiting for some answers, maybe u can post it again here?

Burk: hows T doing?? hope u managed to get some zzzs!

Tacori: yay on the great find :) now we gotta see some updated pics of that gorgeous nursery !

MrsS: glad to hear Jake is doing better...must be heartbreaking when he wakes up coz he cant breathe
7.gif

lili: yay for making a decision about a car seat!!

sbde: totally hear u about the movements!! i used to poke little K ALL the time towards the end of the pregnancy!

and some recent pics...

little K was playing around in this tube, and then sorta got distracted by something that was playing on the tv and he stood like this for a while! hahaha (u can see a bit of his arm thru the mesh part)

The inlaws just left!
36.gif
There were a few bumps in the road but overall it went well. It better seeing how they bought a house down here and will be moving here soon.
6.gif
I just keep reminding myself that it will be nice to have help with T and nice for T to have a close relationship with her grandparents.

MrsS, sorry to hear about Jake''s cold. Poor guy. I feel bad when T''s been sick. She HATES having her nose suctioned out which always confuses me b/c it must feel SO much better after.

Burk, you are a busy lady. My life is so boring compared to yours. Hope you have time to catch your breath!

missp, *love* the football picture. What a happy girl! I cannot imagine being in grad school with a baby. You are brave
2.gif
1.gif
Hope J starts sleeping soon. My little girl is a peanut too.

puffy, thank you so much! I can''t believe B has had 2 haircuts already! Wow! Hope he starts becoming more independent. Sometimes T completely ignores me! Baby fever! Oh, not me. I KNOW I can wait
9.gif

msb, I love K in his tunnel. So funny! He has the best hair. How is the eating going? I gave T some ham yesterday and she loved it. But she loves food in general. She''s got rolls to prove it.

Thanks! J will be 7 months old in exactly a week. And that''s exactly how she is--she LOVES other people and is extremely social but hates being alone when we''re at home even if it''s just for a second.

Misspinky~Cute pics. LOVE the Mizzou outfit. So cute!

puffy~Thanks! I finally had a real night''s sleep last night.
9.gif
Hope Brady''s separation gets better soon. T plays so well by herself at home sometimes she won''t even really play with DH or I if we try to play with her. Her separation was only really in her sleep patterns. So, I think like anything it''s just a phase and in time he''ll be over it. Keep us posted!

msb~T didn''t wake once last night and when she got up at 8 this morning DH got up with her so I got to sleep in until 9!! I still feel like I could sleep all day....Is K getting better? Have you been able to get some sleep? Cute pics!

Tacori~It will be nice to have a built-in free babysitter when you need one!! And yes, my life is a little crazy, but I so love coaching volleyball and DH brings T to all the games and she loves it so it''s good. DH got up with her at 8 and when I got up a little after 9 she was drinking a bottle and falling back asleep. She''s down for a nap right now so I''m going to lay on the couch!

oh, and finally have a picture of the gumdrop (I think that''s what it was called) barrette.
