The inlaws just left!
36.gif
There were a few bumps in the road but overall it went well. It better seeing how they bought a house down here and will be moving here soon.
6.gif
I just keep reminding myself that it will be nice to have help with T and nice for T to have a close relationship with her grandparents.

Tacori, I''m glad the visit went well. I think you will love having relatives close by. we just moved away from my parents and sister and I realized that I''ve never had to hire a real babysitter. I just always had a family member close. Plus, if/when you have another one, it will be nice to have folks to watch the baby so you can do field trips etc. with Tessa. I have to miss both of my oldest daughters fieldtrips coming up b/c I don''t know anyone who can watch Lily and Jake
7.gif
I really, really miss home. anyway, I think you really get to where you''ll be glad they are close by and like you said, it will be nice for Tessa to really know her grandparents.

Lorelei, luckily they will be 15 miles or so away.
2.gif

Burk, T is so pretty! I love her cheeks. Really sounds like she and Brady have different problems. Doesn''t sound like a separation issue. I am *sure* it is just a phase and will pass soon!

MrsS, wish I was there to babysit for you! Must be a hard adjustment. I am looking forward to dates and time alone. But I''ll have to pay in other ways I''m sure

Very quick drive by to give my ps family a update on little B.

He has been admitted into the children''s hospital. We took him back to the pedi friday after work and we pointed out his very very cracked bloody lips and blood shoot eyes. The pedi suspect something called Kawasaki symptom and signs us some paper for us to take it to the ER. So he got admitted to the hospital Friday night.

After many many many test and many many tears from me and little B, they are now treating him for Kawasaki. They want to wait until there was more symptom before they start treating him because it involve a high dose of asprin. After all the test and his signs are all showing he does have Kawasaki and usually they want to treat this within 10 days which he already had fever for 7 days.

Thanks ladies for thinking of little B.

Bobo, little B is in my prayers; I hope he is better soon. Sending you a hug!!

misspinky, love the pictures. J is so cute!

msb, I''m glad K is feeling a little better. He is such a handsome little boy! Thanks for trying to find my question in the other thread. It was just about some discharge I was having. I got it checked out and everything is okay.

Tacori, glad the in-law visit went okay and it''s good to have you fully back to PS.

Burk, T looks so cute with her gumdrop clip!

MrsS, it must be a hard adjustment being away from your parents and sister. I wish I were near so I could babysit. Hugs.

Bobo, hugs to you and little B. I am sorry to hear he''s in the hospital. It breaks my heart. I am glad they figured out what B has so they can treat it and he gets better soon. My thoughts are with you.

Prayer outgoing for little b, I pray he gets well soon bobo. I know it''s so scary for you. HUGS!!!!

bobo, i''m so sorry! but i''m glad that they found the diagnosis so that treatment could be started. kawasaki is usually very treatable...the biggest concern down the road is about the heart, but usually NOT a problem as long as treatment is started. are they giving him IVIg as well??

hang in there. sending you and your family BIG hugs!!

bobo-saying a prayer for your little one for a speedy recovery.

Bobo
7.gif
*HUGS*
It''s a good thing they caught it now.
We''ll keep you and little B in our thoughts.

Bobo, My thoughts are with you, your DH and of course little B. Sounds like it is very treatable. I hope he perks up soon! Take care and know we are all thinking of you!

QT
Awwwee....look at how peaceful M is in her Brtiax
5.gif

That''s such a cute pix of her with her hat.

misspinky
J is such a cutie pie and so teeny too.
Can''t believe she''s only 13 lbs and almost 7 months.
My J is a giant compared to her.
I can''t remember when J was 13 lbs
41.gif

Love curly tuft of hair on top of her head -- too cute.

msb
Looks like K is back to his old self.
Haha, that is such a funny picture of him in the tube.
I can just picture his face -- completely transfixed on the tv w/ his mouth a bit opened too I bet.

Burk
Look at how pretty Tayva is w/ her pink blouse and blue jeans and giddy giddy gumdrop clip.
She''s a beauty for sure. And her hair is getting longer. Pretty soon, you''ll be able to tie it up in a ponytail (not pigtail).

Tacori
Glad the in-law visit went well.
15 miles is a good distance -- not too far so they can visit often, but not too close that they visit everyday :P
It''s good that they are closer....then Tessa will get to know at least one set of grandparents.

Jas12
Ok, truth be told, I''m just too lazy
41.gif
to make my own baby food.

Bobo my thoughts and prayers are with you and little B. it must be so hard for you and little B. i''m glad they know what''s going on with him to treat him. take care of yourself and your little guy.

Bobo~Poor Little B. I''m so glad you finally have an answer and treatment, though. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers!

Tacori~Thanks! I think T''s little sleep separation or whatever it was is over. She woke weird the past few days but that was because she''s sick.

snlee~Thanks!

lilli~Thanks. I think she looks so big in her jeans with her shoes. I was trying to get a picture tonight of how long and curly her hair is in the back, but with blond hair it''s hard to get it to actually show up in the pic.

I''m pretty sure I have what Tayva has. I feel like crap. Heading to bed now and it''s not even 9!

Bobo I just wanted to say I''m sorry to hear about little B. Hugs and I will be thinking of you.

Oh Bobo...hang in there sweetheart. Sending my best thoughts for you, DH and little B. Even though we''ve never met, I''m crying along with you...we love all our PS babies. Please keep us posted as we are all anxious and worried about little B.

Jackie, I am pretty sure you would be good at this, but I just made crap up! Most of the time I am good about rhyming on the fly but if it didn''t rhyme, who cares! Just improvised a tune. For instance, right off the bat, I can think of -

Oh sweetie Logan, you''ve got gas...

Don''t you worry, it will pass.

We''ll put ya on your tummy - fun fun fun!

It''ll help with the noise outta yer bum bum bum!

That kind of garbage.
9.gif
I will make sure to sing real songs once Amelia understands though!

ROTFLMAO!

Bobo: I''m so sorry you''re going thru this..at least since the diagnosis was made treatment can now start and little B will be on the road to recovery in no time...big big big hugs to you and little B...u will be in my prayers

Burk: Look how pretty T is in her jeans and sneakers!!! such a beautiful girl =D....sorry ur not feeling too good
7.gif
..im still hoping to get some sleep!! DH took little K saturday morning so i got to sleep in an hr and a half which was nice!!

Tacori: Good to have u back :) We had to put the solid experiments on hold..he had such a swollen throat that he had a hard time swallowing even his pureed food!!...we''re gonna start again today hopefully...

Snlee: Glad to hear that you''re doing okay now :)

lili: i agree with u!! i bet his mouth was open just a tad too!! hahahaha

--

K news: so we''re over the swollen throat and the allergy...and he wakes up this morning with a cold...sigh..just when i think things are gonna start to get better!!...but other than the runny nose and the constant sneezing he''s a happy little (naughty) boy :)...

Ok, so sorry...I posted my response to Tgals'' ditty, I was catching up from page 70 and hadn''t gotten to Bobo''s terrible news yet, otherwise I would not have posted such a flippant post without addressing her first.

Bobo: My heart goes out to you. I also second the previous poster who asked if he was getting intravenous gamma globulin as well. Have you talked about treatments with his doctors? I''m sure they are taking excellent care of him, but I''d do some research & question the hell out of them. You sure knew something was wrong straight on though. I am soo sorry and praying for a speedy recovery for him!

((((hugs))))

I am going to get some sleep. Daner''s bday weekend was a busy one & i''m tuckered out.

just stopping in. i can hardly keep up on here anymore, so instead of reading 10 pages, I dont come on often. i do miss you all!

BOBO- you are in my thoughts. at least they found out what was wrong with little b and hopefully will have him treated and better soon!

all these cute little ones. Burk- T is just gorgeous! msb- your little guy is precious and just has so much personality in the pics.

As for my little guy. Ian turned one yesterday. We had a huge baseball party for him today. No pics of the party though...I hired a professional so I wouldnt have to lift worry about pics. SO now I have to wait 2 weeks to get pics from her or hope someone emails me pics...I guess i didnt think that professional thing through. Here are a couple pics I took of Ian last weekend with his sample cake (the real cake I made looked much better!) I''m glad I put the cake in front of him before his birthday, because as you can tell from the pic he was terrified of it the first time and today he dug in!

mini birthday collage.jpg

Bobo
Big *HUGS* to you and little B. It breaks my heart to hear that little B is in the hospital. But I am glad they figure out what little B has and will be able to treat it. Hope he feels better soon.

msb, Burk & msflutter
Love the pics of your cuties.

So DH got his new car tonight. We weren''t planning to buy today; we just went to check out the two cars that he was looking into. But the guy gave us such a good deal. He even gave us a free car seat (not literally, but he took off an additional $269 for us to buy a Britax Maranthon). Too bad the Britax sale is already over.

Oh, how cute does Meena look! So happy in her Blvd. She''s stylin in that hat!

Tacori, congrats on getting through this one. Hopefully the pros of them moving near you will outweigh the (hair pulling) cons. It''s nice to have you back full swing!

lili, I agree with Jas! Making food is totally easy, and kind of fun. Not only that, but I am way more willing to taste anything I make, vs the stuff in the jar, which creeps me out - even the natural organic stuff. And forget about it when we get to the meats...ew...definitely making my own. I did try the earth''s best sweet potatoes and I admit it pretty much tastes like the stuff I made tonight. I used my Beaba Babycook and love it, even though it would be a pain to make huge batches. But what I love about it is that you steam and puree in the same container and it automatically turns off when steaming is done, so you don''t overcook. There was some concern that the container has BPA (Williams Sonoma was inundated with calls on it) but it turns out that Beaba changed the container. It still has chemicals in it, but leeches at a much higher temperature than it uses. So I am taking a chance and using it. I mean, I use BPA free bottles but formula containers are lined with BPA, so what''s a girl gonna do?
20.gif
I''ll post some photos tomorrow of my experiments to inspire you. Ha.

btw, lili, you crack me up. You do know that "mommy doesn''t know what else to say" and then hums the rest of the way." rhymes, right?
5.gif
Oh, and I went to BRU today to buy the Fisher Price Space Saver chair. Didn''t see ya! Oh, and wanted to remind you that you can use multiple coupons on one item as long as they are different coupons. I used the 20% and the 5 off 25 dollar coupon on the highchair and it came out to be 39.99 from 54.99...not bad and a bit better than what''s on the web.

sbde, yes, the worrying is going to get worse. Don''t worry though, you''ll be fine. Hee.

Jas, it has been going much better since I switched to the bouncy chair (thank you!) It''s still hit or miss though. However she does always take a few bites of the rice cereal. I am going to take it slow and if she doesn''t want it, she doesn''t want it. This Wed, I am going to try some sweet potato that I made though. Congrats on nearly 6 months...wow...didn''t it seem like it would never come? I''m curious to know how long you are planning to BF. I had initially wanted to do it the first year...look how that turned out.
40.gif

MrsS, aw poor Jake and his runny nose. Man, cold/flu season is not going to be fun around here!

Burk, glad to see ya...hope you are getting much needed rest. Love that gumdrop clip pic. The girl is the only thing cuter than the clip! (which is much cuter than in the stock pic, btw).

Misspinky, OMG, how cute is she?? What a looker. Such a cute photo with dad too. And she''s a petite thing...man, I feel like the mom of an ogre compared to that!

msb, whoa 6 teeth nearly at once! Poor kid! He looks happy though...your kid is a trooper! And a prince!

Butterfly, glad to see you around! Congrats on your new doll!

Diver and msf, happy one year to your babies! Good grief where did the year go...I distinctly remember Delaney''s nb pics!

QT, What car did you get? And don''t worry that you missed the sale...wasn''t much of a sale. I bet there are better closeout deals yearround.

Q: look how cute ur little girl is ...and congrats on the new car!

MrsF: such a nice picture!! im sure waiting for those professional shots will be annoying, but once u see them it''ll all be worth it :)

Diver: can''t wait to hear how Daners bday weekend was..

TGal: tell me about it!! wat a trooper..i didnt even KNOW there were so many coming out at once..

Bobo, we are thinking of you! Give little B a kiss for us.

Diver, how was the b-day? Any pictures you care to share?

Burk, glad T is sleeping better!!!

Q, congrats on the new car. New stuff is fun.

MsF, Ian is so darn handsome. Love the new pics and happy 1st b-day to him!!!

msb, I understand why you stopped (since he was sick). Good luck with the food experiments! T was loving on some rice last night and I thought of K. That is crazy about her teeth!!!

TGal, I think the pros will out weigh the cons (I hope so anyways!) They are nice people who happen to drive me NUTS. Makes me love my own family even more. We might be crazy but we are honest, open, strong, generous...Sometimes I think they think I am too outspoken.
20.gif

So I think my mac laptop is about to die (so sad). I have had it for 4-5 years and really don''t want to think about getting a new one. The screen grayed out when I was online and then my computer shut off. I couldn''t restart is and then when I finally could the desktop is BLANK
23.gif

Tessa climbed an entire flight of stairs last night (with DH spotting). She was mightly proud of herself.

Morning moms

Bobo--I am thinking of you and little B, is he improving? Good thing you pointed out the cracked lips. That disease is so hard to diagnose (i read about it in one of my books) and like you mentioned, the symtoms take a while to present themselves so it''s so good that you were really observant and didn''t just dismiss those signs. Keep us updated and hang in there. We are all thinking of you!

MrsF--those are ggreat pics. Luv Ian''s bib! Can''t wait to see the party photos

Tgal and lili--darn, i was hoping you would run into one another at BRU and report to us this morning
2.gif

Tgal--yep, i''ll be happy to officially hit that 6 month mark. Although i didn''t have BF issues per se, all the other crap made the first 3 months a stage that is best erased from my memory forever! My new goal is 1 year. I will probably continue to nurse for a while once i go back to work in march (maybe just before work and before bed) but i''ll figure that out later.
--I didn''t even know they made all in one baby food steamers and blenders. How cool. Post a pic!
Heard something interesting on a program yesterday. A pediatric dietician was interviewed and she was saying that formula fed babies *may* take a little longer and need more exposures to the same new foods b/c they are used to food with the same flavour and consistency each meal (whereas breast milk changes flavour and consistency with each feeding) so not to give up on a food right away (this advice is also true to feeding kids in general). This difference in pickiness seems to vanish within a few weeks as soon as the formula fed babes get used to having different flavors on a regular basis.
May not apply to Amelia, but thought it made sense so worth sharing...

I gave Cohen his first veggie last night. I had a beautiful ripe avacado that i just had to try. He luuuved it
36.gif
. I just smushed it up with a little boiling water and some of his rice cereal and he ate 1/4 of it!
6.gif
I think the fact that he had an audience of 10 ppl praising his every bite helped a little (we were at the cottage for sunday dinner with fam). I thinkhe''s going to be a ham!

Hiya!!

Sorry I haven''t been around lately. Again, I have been checking in when I can and trying to keep up, but darnit, it''s just hard! I miss you guys though ...

Bobo, oh my gosh, poor little B (and you and Daddy B!). So glad you found this out relatively early and that he''s getting treatment now. Give him lots of kisses on those cheeks from G, K, and me, OK? Hope you are holding up OK as well ...

Tayva, little K, Ian, and all the new babies to the thread -- aaaaaaah, cuteness overload!!! Burk, Tayva''s photos always make me laugh because I always see things that we have too in them - like the Whoozit
1.gif
Gabe *loves* that thing and chews on the squeaky nose whenever we''re in the car.

msb, holy crap, what a scare with K and the eggs!!! So glad he''s OK and back to himself now. Your photos are just adorable - what a smile and what a face! Mr. Handsome.

OK, I know I''ve got waaaaaaaaaaaay more posts to catch up on but this mama''s got to shower right now. Will be back later to comment more!

Just a quick drive by here to let you all know I''m still hanging around!

Bobo, I''m so sorry to hear about little B. I hope he''s doing much better, please keep us posted.

Tacori, so glad you survived the inlaws. And hopefully it will be more of a blessing than a curse to have them close by. Free babysitters are always good!

Q, yay for a new car!!! Meena is soo cute!

msb, K is just such a loverboy! He is soooo grown up! Love all the new photos!!!

Puffy, welcome!! Your little man is such a cutie!!

misspinky, welcome!! Your daughter is so sweet!

Butterfly, good to see you here! Kristina is precious! Can''t wait to see more photos.

Jas12, 6 months already?! Good job on the breastfeeding!!!! I''m sure there were many moments when you wanted to quit but 6 months is a huge milestone. Congrats!

jas, I''ve made up more songs than I can remember but we always end up with Old MacDonald. On a five hour car ride up to Maine, animal sounds that don''t even exist were part of the verses!!! Lily loves to just yell out "eieio" so that''s usually the cue that she wants to hear it. But really, anything you make up will be music to their ears!

Burk, Tayva is just sooooo adorable with her hairclip!!!

msflutter, I can''t believe Ian is one already!! Love the photos--can''t wait to see the pro ones!

Diver, how was Delaney''s bday???

TGal, I was way too lazy to make my own baby food but I think that Beaba thing is such a cool contraption. I almost considered getting it now to make food for the new baby but then I realized that I''m still lazy and will probably be even moreso with a toddler and an infant so Gerber and Earth''s Best will once again step in as my chefs!!! I''m glad you got the FP Space Saver high chair for such a good price! I love mine, it''s such a perfect solution for us apartment dwellers.

As for me, I''m 5 days from my due date right now and I almost feel like she''s going to be late! I had convinced myself this one would be really early but I honestly have no clue. I have a doctor''s appointment on Wednesday and I''m kind of hoping she''ll say that I''m 5 cm. and they''re going to admit me to the hospital!!! I got a mani/pedi, bikini wax and haircut this weekend so I''m all set. I also packed my bag and did laundry so I think everything is in place. All we''re missing is the baby! My anxiety is growing by the day because I feel like I''ve been setting myself up for really hard times ahead and I think I just want to get started instead of worrying and imagining how horrible it''s going to be!!! I know that sounds awful because I really am excited to meet my new baby but everyone is so eager to tell horror stories about having children so close together so I''m finding it hard to expect anything but the worst. Then again, I think that''s just life. Misery loves company and people always want to share their bad stories rather than the good ones. Once again, I''ll have to prove that I''m Supermom and I CAN do it all!!
2.gif

On a good note, Lily has fully adjusted to her daycare and is ruling the school!!! Apparently she''s one of the older kids in the class so she''s being her bossy Taurus self and teaching them words like "no", "more" and "baby"!! Her teachers told me that she''s definitely helping to increase the other children''s vocabularies!
3.gif
She''s also been sleeping like a champ--I''m talking 12-13 hours/night--so they must be doing something right there with just the one nap. Even on the weekends, she''s ready for her nap at 1:00 on the dot so it''s great to have her on a bit of a schedule for once. We''ll see how long it lasts. I''ve heard there is a regression at 18 months. Something else to look forward to!

I''ll keep you all posted as things progress. Miss you all and hope everyone has a great week!
1.gif

Congratulations, Butterfly. Kristina is adorable!

only have a second to reply and will catch up more later but wanted to send prayers to bobo for little B...

also,

Curly- 5 days!!! wow. I just want to say that please do not worry or get stressed out about having 2 so close. I''m not going to lie and say it''s a piece of cake because it''s not. It is hard but it is also wonderful and there are many advantages too. Just focus on those. I sat and watched my girls play for hours yesterday together. they rode their bikes, play make believe/dress up, got out art stuff and did crafts in the driveway etc. they are just the best of friends (most of the time) and your girls will be too. Plus, a baby sleeps most of the time so you just need to make sure you can nap when Lily and the baby nap. Getting enough sleep is really the secret. If you are lacking then you will start to feel overwhelmed but rested you will feel like you are supermom...and you are
2.gif
I''m so excited for you and can''t wait to meet your new little one. Did I miss what you decided the name to be? Lucy???

Tacori, I swear...they make these computers crappy (although mac I am sure is better) so you must replace them every 3 years now. Of course, with technology advancing all the time, you kind of have to. And Tessa''s a little adventurer. Today the stairs. Tomorrow, Everest.
1.gif

Bobo, I agree with Jas...good for you for noticing those signs. I went to wiki to look it up yesterday. It''s horrible that little B is going through this, but I thank you for sharing because it educates the rest of us.

Jas, the Beaba Babycook has been used in Europe for some time, but just became available in the US this year I think. I posted it in the baby gear thread, but I will go back and post a review now that I''ve used it so I will top the pic for you. Curly, it''s a lot of money and kind of makes the cost savings of babyfood making a moot point, but the nice part is that I totally WILL use it. It''s easy. I keep it on the counter and it''s easy to clean (put water in, hit the blend button and wipe the bowl clean with a sponge. I love that it turns off when done steaming so it''s mindless too. If you''ve ever wanted to make your baby food, I recommend it. I will probably use earth''s best too because I think that baby food is just fine. But I read yesterday that stage 2 foods and beyond usually have more fillers vs stage 1 which is pure.

And I totally think you will do a year BFing, no problem. Way to go Jas...proud of ya! Jealous that Co is such a good eater.
36.gif

Curly, golly woman...I am shaking my head wondering when the time has flown. Have I told you yet how excited I am for you? I am very interested to hear how your experiences raising two kids so close in age will be. My bro and I were the same age apart as Lily and your new girl will be and my mother said she had no problems, but I think it''s because she didn''t remember! So it will be fun to hear your experiences.

Ella, I was going to mention yesterday that I miss seeing you here more often, but didn''t want to guilt ya! Don''t feel like you have to "catch up"...I''d rather hear reports about G&K.
30.gif

Nothing new to report on the Amelia front. I''m waiting to see if teeth will appear (and every time she gets cranky, I am SURE there are teeth lurking about in there).
20.gif
Everything is the same ole, same ole. Oh, I did get Amelia''s passport done (thanks msf for the website link) and her pic makes her look...uh...wrong.
