Burk/TGal: I ordered the clips this morning :) got them from mom4life (the free shipping was very tempting)..i wanted to get a few clips, but unfortunately a lot were out of stock..i''ll keep u posted on the progress...TGal: How long did it take till they were delivered?

bobo: thanks for checking in...i hope B feels better soon..must be heartbreaking seeing him in the hospital and in so much pain
7.gif
but glad that u were insistent..there is nothing like mother''s instinct!

Diver: we must have been posting at the same time...such nice pictures!! and look how adorable Daners looks!!!

and sister, u are one HOT HOT mama!!!

Mornin

Burk--I can''t WAIT to see T dressed as a poodle! I luv halloween so i am pretty bummed that i will be away for it. i am actually cosidering brining a costume on our trip just so i can at least get a photo op.

Diver--D''s party looked like so much fun! Good job! I can not believe she''s a year! And i luv your hair --u look great.

MrsS. Way to go Jake!!! Our little boyz are growing up too fast
39.gif
I didn''t get a pic of Cohen''s avacado meal., shame on me. looks like u got your highchair unpacked. Are u feeling more settled now?

Co was up about 7 times last night. i think one child is enough for me--if i have another bad sleeper it''ll be the end of me
14.gif
He''s rosy cheeked and crabby this morn. gonna be a loooong day...

Diver~What a beautiful family! Looks like a great party. Happy birthday to D!
36.gif

Jas~You should dress him up so you can at least take some pics (and post them for us to see
31.gif
). Sorry you had a long night....I can relate today!

T had a HORRIBLE night last night....she hasn''t slept this poorly since she was probably 1 week old. Arggg. Poor girl can''t breath. I ended up just sleeping with her in our recliner. NOT a good night''s sleep for me and I have parent-teacher conferences tonight. DH is taking T back in to the doctor this afternoon because I think she must have a sinus infection if it''s gone on this long and it''s green mucus. The nurse agreed and said T needs antibiotics. Hopefully that''ll get her back to normal. I hate it when babies are sick.

Diver- what a great party. D is so cute with that cupcake! And you look fantastic!! Was D''s bday this weekend too? Ian was one on 9/20!

the pic of jake and his sweet potatoes is adorable.

Ian had his 1 year appointment yesterday. he is 30 3/4 inches and 24lbs 4 1/2 oz! In the 80th and 75th %! Such a big boy. I delayed the MMR, I was just nervous. Blame it on the media and me not being able to read about it with my recent busy schedule. I did get him a flu shot though...and that is a live virus shot. I think all this attention on vaccines has confused parents even more! Does anyone not feel confused?

Burk- the poodle sounds adorable. i have no idea what Ian is going to be. George wants to put him in overalls and have him be stewie from family guy....um, no.

Aww, happy birthday to both Delaney and Ian! Great photos
9.gif
Diver, you are just ridiculously photogenic - you always look gorgeous!

Tacori, I can''t believe Tessa did a flight of stairs - holy cow!! We don''t have stairs here (just down to the basement, which obviously they''re not going anywhere near anytime soon), so my guys don''t get to practice much. I read that 10 months is the usual age for climbing if you have stairs in your house and 11 months if you don''t, so I guess my guys have a little more time til they hit that milestone. I hope! G and K are both standing up, and I can''t believe how big they are when I see them doing that. They''re little *people* not babies anymore!! Blows me away ...

Burk, hope Tayva gets well soon! G & K both have colds too and are allllll stuffed up and can''t breathe. So sad!

I can''t wait to see everyone''s Halloween babies!!! I''m going costume shopping today ... I think I want K to be a kitty so hopefully I can find a costume for that, but no idea what Gabe should be. Hmmmm. A dog?

Have some photos to share with y''all

First up, Ms. K at a birthday party a few weeks ago looking purty

This one is funny because it''s like that Austin Powers skit

We went apple picking the other day and the babies loooooved their apples! (I didn''t really let them eat them this way because of the skin, but it was a cute photo shoot. Of course, they stuck the apples right in their mouths!)

apple munching.jpg

A cute shot! Of course I couldn''t get them to both look at the camera at the same time though (sigh) I love fall!!

I know...it's just flying by. I am feeling more settled and pretty much have everything unpacked. I'm really missing home though and already petitioning hubby for a timeline of when we can move back
27.gif

linda, msb, diver and burk...thanks for commenting on the little buddy. he really is a doll baby and just so much fun and diver, he does have a big ol' round head
3.gif

diver- the b-day party looks like a blast...i can't believe Delaney is 1...holy cow...

ella- lovin the pics of your muchkins. I thought of you yesterday b/c I bought Jake another sippy cup but this one has a leak proof straw..

burk-i haven't decided what Jake will be yet. tayva as a poodle will be soooooo cute. I dressed my girls up as bunnies when they were babies. they then went into "princess" mode and have been various disney princess's the past few years until last year when my then 5 year old decided she wanted to be Elphaba from Wicked (she's the wicked witch of the west) so she went from a pretty fairy princess to a green witch and this year she wants to be Batwomen
20.gif

ETA: ella, just saw the pumpkin patch pics...LOVE Them...we're going to a pumpkin patch in a couple of weeks and I can't wait...I love fall too..

MrsS, I forgot to comment on Jake''s photo! First off, food pics are just the best
21.gif
And I LOVE his face - he always looks like he''s about to crack into a big s*!t-eatin'' grin, doesn''t he? He''s got a very mischievous look to him -- such a li''l BOY!

Oh, and Burk, yes we keep the Whoozit in the car too! He gets so excited when he sees it, it''s really cute. He actually gets so excited when he sees Cheerios that he starts shaking his hands and feet in anticipation! What a goober
4.gif
I love that gumdrops clip and think I may need to get that one. I want one that we can wear with lots of different outfits, and the pink flower we have isn''t so good for that.

Curly, thinking of you in your last few days of preggohood, Mama!!!

Jas, I feel so much for you when I read your sleepless posts. I didn''t go back and read them all, but I think you said you though Co is teething, right? Motrin him up!!! Eeeeee, I can''t wait to see all the teethies that our spring babies are going to be getting soon!!

As for making baby food, it''s SO easy (even without TGal''s uber-cool contraption!) and rewarding. I also keep Earth''s Best jars on hand though for convenience and for the variety. One great thing about making your own food is that the baby/ies get used to eating textured food earlier so the transition to finger foods/chunkier stuff goes pretty smoothly. At least it did for us! I''m very lucky that both G & K really haven''t met a food they didn''t like (other than plain yogurt, but really who does like that? Other than my husband.) and that they took to chewing solids right away. It really makes feeding them a pleasure!

OH, and going back like days and days ago, I forgot to comment on Jadelyn''s photos with the hair clips -- I LOVE those photos, Lili!!! And I thnk it''s hysterical that you had to figure out where to put the clips in her hair like that. She''s one funky chick
21.gif

I need to see some new pics. Por favor.

Diver, I seriously got teary thinking of D being one! The year has gone by SOOO fast. makes me a little sad. Everything looked great!

Burk, sorry T is sick. Hope she feels better soon!

Jas, oh no 7 times! You poor thing!!!!

MrsS, Jake is so handsome. LOVE the sweet potato pic (though I don''t miss the mess) Luckily T is a much neater eater now.

Ella, cute pics as always. I actually do not know when she could climb stairs b/c I NEVER let her near ours (we have gates). I know she could climb a few a few months ago when we were in Ohio but her legs were really too short (but she "knew" what to do). It was a fluke we let her do it at our friends.

Puffy, I cannot believe he has had THREE haircuts!!! That is crazy!

So she stood for a really long time yesterday and was kind of dancing and I seriously almost started crying. Is it ridiculous that I felt so proud. It was a heart bursting moment for sure.
30.gif

msf~I laughed out loud when I read your DH wants to dress Ian up as Stewie! Only a man would suggest such a thing! I''m so confused about shots, too. I just go with my ped''s advice. I''d don''t think I''d ever make a decision if I didn''t!

Ella~Such cute pics!!! I love the one in the pumpkin patch. The stuffiness is so hard on the little ones. If you could just puff up some pillows for them so they could breathe at night, everything would be great!
3.gif
The gumdrop is very versatile. I can use it with most outfits. She also has the white flower, but it doesn''t go nearly as well as the gumdrop. It''s great to have options!
9.gif
Funny G gets all excited about Cheerios. T does the same thing with puffs. Sometimes I think she''s going to tip her highchair over she gets her legs going so fast!

Tacori~Not ridiculous at all that you almost cried seeing her stand. I tear just watching T play some days. I know. I''m a dork. I just love that little girl so much.

msf - I think dressing Ian up as Stewie would be hilarious! And I agree with Burk--only a man would suggest such a thing! I don''t know about the shots either, but I usually also go with whatever my pediatrician recommends

Ella - That pumpkin patch picture is amazing. I have to remember to take Jaylin to the pumpkin patch this year, if only for the adorable photo ops. J''s been really stuffy lately too and hasn''t been sleeping well at all. I feel soooooo sorry for her, but I found that a humidifier next to her bed has helped a little bit. I got a pink clip with a monkey on it and J wears it with all of her pink outfits. Hilarious.

Tacori - I totally understand where you''re coming from. Jay clapped her hands for the first time last night and I bawled like a baby. It''s so funny because you really can''t imagine loving another person that much until you have a child.

We''ve decided to dress Jaylin up like a parrot...and her daddy will be dressing up as a pirate and carrying her around on his shoulder (his idea). I think it will be pretty hilarious.

Now I''ll have to go back and see if I missed anything....but for now, here''s the picture of the day...

jaybathtime.jpg

Ella, I didn''t make my own food (realized how little freezer space and energy I have) but I have always put RC in to thicken it. She can chew things (even with her 2 lonely teeth). She also will eat anything but doesn''t like some meats. My neighbor BFs her twins and they are PICKY. They will only eat sweet potatoes and fruits (so maybe Jas12 theory is off there).

Misspinky, J is so cute! I love the costume idea. Haha! I was just telling DH how crazy it is how much we love her and I know we will love our next one the same. How can our hearts take it
2.gif

Burk, They are just growing up too fast! I gotta take some more pictures of her before my family disown me
3.gif
Did you see the new toy I put in the must have threads. I could totally see your T all over that thing!

misspinky~Cute pic! I love bath time pics. Funny idea for Halloween. We''ll need pics!
2.gif
9.gif

Tacori~Too fast is right. I just love every new stage she''s in. We haven''t had ourselves a Tessa pic around here in quite some time! You better get on that! Oh, and I went over and checked out the toy...and then emailed it to my MIL. I''m sure T will have one soon!
21.gif

YEA pictures!!! all the babies are so cute.

Diver i can''t believe your girl is one already. and the cuppie looks so yummy!!! looks like you guys had a really god time. and one more thing, you are one gorgeous mama!!

Jas12 so sorry about the sleepless nights. if he is teething, like ella said motrin works wonders for you and Co. i gave B motrin when he was first teething, but after the first 2 broke through, he was fine with the rest of them breaking through so i didn''t have to continue giving it to him.

Ella your babies are so adorable. the pumpkin patch pic is so gorgeous.
30.gif
and yea for the kiddies standing!

Burk poor T!! i hope she gets better soon and gets back to her normal sleep routine. we also have the 08 MDX which i love. Cute pic of T also.

Mrss what an adorable pic of Jake. looks like he took to the sweet potatoes.

Tacori wow, T is growing up so fast!! next thing you know, she''ll be walking all by herself. i get teary eyes just thinking about B sometimes and how much joy he''s brought into our lives. i just love to watch him sleep at night sometimes too. and we''ll probably have to bring B to get another hair trim in about 1 month. his hair grows faster than mine.
oh, and Tacori, you did a lot of traveling with T. we''re taking B to disneyland and although it''s not for another month or so, ok maybe 2 months, i''m making a list of things that i will need to bring. what did you give T for take off and landing? and we''re also taking him to hawaii for his first bday, well we leave 1 day after his bday, so i guess i''m getting ready for that too. i know i am early, but i rather get things down than miss something later on.

misspinky J is so pretty! heehee, i love the costume idea.

MrsF ian is a big boy!! i haven''t researched the vaccines either. like Burk, i just take the pedi''s advice on it. but i know that i should look into them.

on the food subject, i still BF now but B eats ANYTHING and EVERYTHING!! haha, that kid LOVES his food. and don''t try taking it away either. he eats stage 3 now, but most of the time, i just give him table food....meats, pasta, bread, rice and he just gobbles it all down.

Burk, your inlaws seem very generous. She will love the "house." When is your spring break?

Puffy, I am not going to lie. Traveling with a little one is tough. The older she gets the harder (probably until she can better understand what is going on and entertain herself). I am not sure how long the flights are but bringing a baby carrier is helpful (if he can still fit in it). T slept in it on the way to Vegas (4 hour flight). We faced her towards DH (in the Bijoin) so she could lay her head on his chest. Covered her with a blanket. Airlines will make you detach the baby for landing and take off for safety (most of the time).

Also I had my diaper bag AND a smaller bag (can be anything with the important stuff) For us it is *2* binkies (in case one drops), a toy, a book, a bottle of ready made formula (since I no longer BF) and snacks. Does he have a snack trap? If not buy one! It is perfect for puffs and it takes time to get them out. By having the smaller bag (use a plastic bag if you have to) you won''t have to get at your big diaper bag as often b/c space is *tight*. Make sure you have an extra outfit for B. Lots of diapers/wipes. Diaper rash cream (you could put a layer on him before hand if you are worried). I put all that stuff in a ziplock for security (and just in case). They are pretty nice about letting you bring whatever you need (medicine, baby food, creams, liquid formula, etc...) They will make you take B''s shoes off which maybe I understand at a year but T was like 6 months old. I thought she was joking at first! You will have to carry him (or I guess he will walk) through the metal detector. Your stroller and car seat will have to go through the x-ray.

It will be easier since your DH is with you. Most planes no longer have changing stations in the bathrooms (annoying!) so change him right before you board. If you have to you can change him on the seat (bring a receiving blanket or mat) get the dirty diaper in a ziplock bag ASAP. Luckily I have never had to change a poopy diaper but I can only imagine the mean stares you will get. We also ALWAYS board last. The less time on the plane the BETTER. A mobile baby does NOT like to sit still or at least *my* mobile baby.

We gate check out stroller. We used to bring her infant car seat and SNG now just my Volo (umbrella stroller). I put the stroller (and car seat) in a case. Babycenterstore.com sells bright red ones that say "gate check" on it. We had that for the car seat. If you have nother (or don''t want to buy something) use a thick garbage bag. Your stuff WILL get dirty and maybe get torn. As of now they do not use the gate checked items against you (or charge you).

You can ask to sit in the bulk head row but honestly as nice as the extra leg room is it is a PITA to have to put your diaper bag up. Again, sometimes I travel alone which makes it harder (I actually had to take her in the bathroom w/ me b/c I thought I was going to wet my pants if I waited until we landed. I refused to put her on the gross floor. Poor thing. But it CAN be done alone!)

I think that''s all my tips! Our next flight won''t be until April (she will be 17 months) I am kind of shell socked from the last flight. Haha! I plan to have *LOTS* of snacks and a portable DVD player filled with "Yo gabba gabba." Distraction is everything
2.gif
People are usually really nice if he does fuss. Often times they even try to "play" with her by making faces, wave, etc... T is pretty social and a ham so she perks up when she sees new people giving her attention.
20.gif
Good luck P! Let me know if you have any other questions. At 10 months T has been on 12 flights. That''s why I need a break!

All these baby pictures are adorable. Thanks for sharing.

Okay, here is T at a friend''s b-day last week. I am not sure if she was having a good time

Awwwww! You BOTH are adorable!

MrsS--glad you are feeling settled. I hope one day you do get to move back to the fam. I find it hard being away from my sister. She is my best friend and we talk at least twice a day and if she goes more than 2 weeks without seeing Cohen she is really emotional about it (i never expected that from her) so i know (a bit) how you must feel.

Ella-OMG that pumpkin pic is just beautiful--the apple one too. I luv fall. The leaves have changed here but it is still nice and warm. Snow is potentially just a few weeks away (we''ve already had night frost) so i want to get some family pics with the fall colours while it is still nice. Yours are frame worthy!!!
Can''t wait to hear what costumes you decide on. Think of the fun you can have coming up with ''pair'' themed outfits. Dog and Cat is a cute way to kick off their first Halloween!
Yes, i think Cohen is teething (red cheeks, drool, fussiness and random wake ups) i can''t seem to get more than a few days here and there of decent sleep so i am frustrated and burnt out, but what can i do? I just keep reminding myself that this won''t last forever.

Tacori--i was a picky eater and i was BF too but that theory was just supposed to be on ''first exposures'' not long term eating habits. I think there are probably dozens of variables behind pickiness. This dietician also noted that the food we eat when preggo impacts taste preferences. I had to chuckle at that b/c i thought no wonder so many kids like salteens and sweet stuff, it''s all mom could tolerate with MS ;-) I couldn''t get enough lemonade and I think Tgal really like watermelon--we''ll have to see if our kids end up luving that stuff.
--Thanks for the travel post. I wondered about the bulk head. I am going to request a bassinet b/c the flight is nearly 9 hours and is an overnight, but i am wondering if a) it will be noisy so close to the kitchen area and bathrooms and b) if getting stuff from overhead will be a PITA, as u mentioned.
33.gif
What do you think? I never thought about using a carrier for sleeping but that is a good idea.

Speaking of travel--does anyone know if there is an umbrella stroller that reclines? I''ll wander over to the baby gear thread....

MissP--a parrot costume would be SO funny/cute
1.gif

Tacori you look gorgeous as always and Miss Tessa looks so happy, you are doing an incredible job raising this beautiful little girl!!

Jas12, I think it is easier *not* to be in bulk row but having a bassinet would be nice (if he won''t try to crawl out of it). I think TGal mentioned they are hard to get (only a few on each flight if any). Check with your airline. Honestly the bijoin worked great. DH was so funny b/c whenever she would wake up he would whisper "ignore her!" and sure enough if we avoided eye contact she would fall back asleep. If your flight is during his sleep time that helps too. Other times I would just lean against the window and ball up a blanket (under her head) and she would sleep in my arms.

Thanks Pinky and Lorelei! I think I will feel better after I lose my 10 lbs. Maybe regain my confidence.
5.gif

Tacori thanks so much for all the travel info!!! the flight to LA is short about 1.5 hours or less. we live by san francisco, so i''m not too worried about LA. i''m more worried about hawaii. i actually leave with B first to hawaii. DH had something to take care of and is leaving on a later flight. so i''ll be meeting some friends for lunch when we get there. i think that flight is about 5 hours, or so. but i guess LA will be a good practice run for hawaii. i just worried that i''m going to look like a mad woman carrying everything from dvd''s cause B loves his baby einstein, to snacks, to toys, to books clothes, diapers.
you are very pretty by the way!!! and Tessa is so beautiful, such a happy little girl.

Jas12 i believe the other maclaren strollers recline, but not the volo. i''m not too sure though. i just know that our maclaren reclines, but B hates it in the recline position because he can''t see the world as well, i guess. good luck with your little teething boy!!

Tacori~LOVE the pics! I have no idea why you have no confidence, lady, you're beautiful! My spring break is March 23-27. Are you starting to plan your trip?

puffy~Thanks!

So, got a call from daycare around noon. T pretty much cried all morning.. Soooo not like her. So I went and picked her up and she's at the doctor with DH right now while I do parent-teacher conferences (yea, I'm at conferences right now ps-ing.....such a naughty teacher) later ladies

Puffy, thanks for the compliments. Since you are going on such a long flight by yourself I would first ask if there are any empty seats and if they are can you be sat next to it (this has worked for me a few times). My little girl is a TV watcher too. That should help you for sure. I would just put the volume on low (not sure when kids can wear headphones). Make sure you bring a snack for yourself too! *ALWAYS* get a window seat. BFing is obviously easier next to the window too. I did wear my hooter hider (when I was BFing and with DH) Without him I gave her formula. She had gotten too long to be contained in my seat alone anyways. Good luck to you. Hope B sleeps the whole way
2.gif

ETA: oh, seat in the back of the plane. It is louder so if he has an outburst it will help. Plus white noise usually helps relax babies. I also deplaned after everyone. That way I could take my time getting off. You can ask for help through security. I got it down to a science now though. I have seen a mom change a baby on the floor of the kitchen area in the back. Kinda gross but you do what you have to do.
