I''m excited, I ordered her birthday invites last night!!! Where did this year go???

Congrats to the new mommies, Curly and snlee!!!!!!!!!!
36.gif
Can't wait for the details and, of course, pics of the new little loves!!

Tacori, love the new photos of Tessa - she's getting to be such a big girl, I can't believe it! You're right, the past year has just flown by - it's crazy! We haven't tried any walking toys yet, but I suppose we could soon. Yikes.

Oh Jas, look at that little sweet face on Co!!!
30.gif
Oh my, is he handsome or what??

Katelyn climbed some stairs the other day at a friend's house
9.gif
I was terrified the whole time (wooden stairs, no carpeting to cushion a fall), but she did well. And I swear they're starting to mimic things we say now, too, which is a riot!! Katelyn makes a sound that sounds like "gay" so sometimes I'll ask her, "Is so-and-so straight or gay?" and she'll say, "Gay!" -- cracks us up every time!! As for the G-man, he is taking things a little slower - he's more content to sit and play with toys, while K is a maniac who cannot sit still! Every time we go in their room, G is sitting in his crib sucking on his binkit, while K is standing up gnawing on her crib. It's so funny how different they are! OH, and now they're starting to fight over toys
38.gif
EEeeeeek. Not ready to play referee just yet.

OH, and I think I need to go back and check, but I'm pretty sure that Jackie posted photos of Logan and Jackson here too (or was in the preggos thread?) -- cutie patooties!!!! How are you doing, Supermom??
1.gif

OK, off to go play with my loonies.

ETA: Well, what I wrote above implies that Gabe is just a lump who does nothing, and that is far from the truth! He crawls around like a lightning bolt and is standing up against toys too. But I just meant that he is easier right now because he will stay put more often than K does! I think she is freakishly strong and energetic, I really do.

Morning gang

CONGRATS to the NEW ARRIVALS!!!!!!!! Way to go Mommas!!!! Can not wait to see the new pics....

Ella--I just can''t believe the twins are getting ready to walk--it blows my mind how quick our babies disappear and turn into toddlers. It makes me proud and sad at the same time. Do you feel run off your feet now that they are zipping around?

Co hit a milestone yesterday, he can sit on his own
36.gif
. Not for long, but he can do it. My lazy boy is finally deciding that he wants to see the world from another perspective. Lili, J has been sitting for so long eh? Is she fully crawling yet?
Took Cohen to costco over the weekend and my mom put him sideways in the seat part of the buggy, he sat on his own in there the whole time and looked absolutely teeny tiny in that HUGE cart. Shoppers got a kick outta that and he was so amused by all the action going on at eye level. My mom is unabashedly determined to make a shopper out of this boy (way to aim high grandma)

Off for a walk--it''s soooooo cold here--snow is on the way i am afraid
15.gif
--i have to bundle Cohen up. Ick, i am really not ready for snow.

ok, have a minute to catch up a bit more...

jas12- cohen looks so cute in that pic. love his outfit
30.gif
who says boys clothes aren''t cute too

i totally missed the curly update so a big welcome to Lucy. I can''t wait to see pics of the new babies.

snlee and curly, I hope you both are doing well...

gotta run for a preschool pick-up...be back soon...

35.gif
Thanks for all the good wishes and CONGRATULATIONS SNLEE!!! Our children are indeed birthday buddies!! YAY!!!! And thanks Tacori for passing along the news!!!

Well, here''s the moment you''ve all been waiting for--the story. I was once again convinced that this baby was going to be late even though DH kept saying that Friday was the day. As of Wednesday, we had MIL staying with us just in case I went into labor so someone would be around to watch Lily. So by Thursday, I was already annoyed that she was in my house! DH had a work event so I was going to be stuck at home with his mother. I got home from work and just didn''t feel like being social. Lily was acting up in front of her grandmother and wouldn''t go to sleep. I was at the end of my rope and even had a minor breakdown in my bedroom--crying on Lily while I was begging her to sleep!!!! She finally passed out, as did my MIL. I decided to indulge in some wine and relax in my bedroom. DH got home by 11 and we went to sleep. At around 12:30 or 1, I woke up with some cramps. DH was convinced this was it but I wasn''t so sure. They didn''t feel like contractions and were very irregular. So I ignored them and tried to go back to sleep. At around 3:00, I felt a pop in my stomach and knew instantly that my water had broken. I jumped out of bed and ran to the bathroom, soaking my pjs on the way! OK, this is it. My doctor said that with a 2nd pregnancy, there was no need to wait if my water broke, just get to the hospital asap. So I called to let them know we were on the way, threw some last minute things in my bag, got dressed, gave MIL instructions for Lily and we stepped out into the pouring rain to catch a cab to the hospital.

Along the way, my contractions started to become a little more intense but not unbearable. The cab driver was FLYING through the rain to get us there! We arrived and went up to L&D where they had me WAIT in a waiting room because it was soooooo busy that they didn''t have any place to put me!!! I started to get frustrated as the contrax started kicking up and I was becoming really uncomfortable. They finally got me into a triage room at around 3:30 or 3:45 and I was already 5 cm dilated. A billion people came in and asked me questions about my medical history and I was getting really annoyed because I kept repeating myself and I was in a ton of pain!!! When can I get my epidural?!??? I started to really whine and complain because it HURT! Finally, a nurse came in and said she was getting me into a LDR room asap. She reprimanded the triage nurse right in front of me because apparently, even though I had told a billion people that this was NOT my first baby, they still had my records up on the computer from my first pregnancy so they thought that this was my first and that I had time. My personal "Dani" (her name was Joey!) had me zipping down the hall to a room in no time and was barking on her phone to get the anesthesiologist to me ASAP!! He finally showed up as I was literally writhing in pain, about to cry and give up. I was about 7-8 cm dilated by this point and never had any intention of letting myself get to that point. The anesthesiologist inserted the epidural but I was still in pain. He waited for a while and injected some lidocaine in there to speed things up. It took about 10 minutes but I started to feel some relief but only on the left side! So they rolled me on to my right side and my nurse kept pressing the button to give me more drugs! Finally FINALLY!! I was in the good place. No pain after what seemed like a lifetime.

About 5 minutes later, the on-call doctor came in and checked me and said I was fully dilated and the head was at station 0! OH NO, I need a break. I asked them if I could just rest for a minute. It was about 6:15 or so by this point. The doctor said it was totally up to me and had no objections to letting me rest for a while. He said the contractions were doing what they were supposed to do so we might as well let them do their job which would in turn make my job easier! Fine with me. DH and I rested and talked for about 45 minutes. Then the doctor came back and said it was probably time to get the baby out. We discussed pushing, cracked a few jokes and then got down to it. They knew that I couldn''t feel anything so they told me when to push and even though I had no idea what I was doing, I must have done it right! After only a few sets of real pushes and a few short pushes, I felt my baby come out of me and it had only been 15 minutes!!!!! I couldn''t believe it. All that horrible build up was worth it to only have to push for a few minutes and have no damage to my nether regions! It almost made me want to have another one--ALMOST!

Lucy Rose came into the world on September 26 at 7:33 am, weighing 7 lbs. 14 oz. and 21" long!!! I''m a tiny girl, I''m not supposed to have big babies and nobody predicted the size of this one!!! She seems much smaller than Lily who was a whole pound lighter and 1.5" shorter but I guess because she''s so long the weight is dispersed differently. She looks quite a bit like her sister but more than that, she looks like a smurf! She is very sweet and hasn''t been too bad yet but we''ve only been home one night! I sent her to the nursery both nights at the hospital and took Ambien so I could get some rest--I highly recommend it!! I''ll get some photos up soon but just wanted to get my story down while it was fresh in my mind!

Curly, I am so excited for you and your family and it was an *honor* to be able to share your good news! You poor thing. The wait must have been horrible but like you said it was worth it to have such an easy delivery (I will NOT remind you of mine!) Sounds like Lily is excited to be a big sis. I cannot wait to see pictures of precious Lucy!

oooh, i LOVE birth stories!
curly, thanks so much for posting such a beautiful story. and a HUGE congratulations! i can''t wait for the photo update...i''m sure if lucy looks anything like lily then she is absolutely gorgeous. enjoy that little bundle!!!!

curly what an incredible birth story! 21" long..dang, tall little one! congrats again.

tacori cute pic of ms. T. is she taking more and more steps? that girl is a fearless one! brady tried over the weekend to take a few steps. he took *a* step but then decided that he had enough. he was still standing after his little step, but i guess he needed a break cause he just sat down and started to play with his toys. ah, boys i tell ya! but i am in no hurry to have him walking. he''s not even 10 months yet, so i''ll let him take his time.
wow, T''s turning 1 already?!?!?

jas yay for Co sitting up! he is such a cutie pie!! hope you two have been getting some sleep lately.

ellayay for K climbing stairs! it''s so funny how different the two of them are with K being so active and always on the move. G seems laid back about it all, just content with what he''s got.

Curly, woo hoo, whadda story! But doncha know that on PS, the story ain''t nearly as good without pics? Hehehe. And I knew you were a toughie....to 8 cm without epidural, wow. Glad you were able to get it and finally get some relief though!

Be back tonight to read with the usual glass of wine and respond!

Puffy, she will be one in Nov.
15.gif
Kinda sad, kinda excited. She took FOUR steps in a row today!
36.gif
By far the most. She stood up on her own in the middle of the room and then walked to her leap frog music table (and grabbed on during the 4th step). B is ahead of the game if he isn''t even 10 months yet! T will be 11 months later this week. The funny thing is she is so short! Someone that short should NOT be walking yet. Haha!

It goes by so quickly, doesn''t it?
I feel like my kids were just babies!
Now my fourth grade daughter can wear my shoes. (size 5, but still, how the heck did that happen?)
I love the new avatar!

iluv, thanks! I love that picture too. I guess I am not as sad as I would be if she was our last child. By no means am I ready to have another but I know we will...one day. My family is all excited she will be running around during Thanksgiving. I was a really late walker (17 months...yes I am a loser). DH started at 9 months (he was a big/tall baby). His newborn picture looks like a 3 month old.

That is funny your daughter can wear your shoes! Size 5! Wow I thought my feet were tiny. I bet she loves that she can.

What a wonderful story.
Sounds like you had a speedy and smooth delivery.
8 cm w/o epi? Hehe, you probably could have done the whole L&D w/o it
2.gif

Glad they were able to get the epi to you in time.

Wow, 21". Lucy is a long one.....future model there :)
Can''t wait to see those pix.

Oh Curly Congratulations!!!!! Your story was fantastic! You sound like such a pro and I am so hopeful I could have something quick like you- do you remember how long you labored with your first? I know it probably won''t happen like that for me but I can dream, right? I love that you got some good rest while you were in the hospital- I heard it''s tough when you have more than one at home. Hope your recovery is quick and everyone is happy and safe!

Tacori wow four steps today that is sooooo cool! You have me thinking about the babyproofing thing. My friend had a service come and do everything- I thought it was too early but I am starting to nest and I would love to check some more things off of my list.

Hope all the other mommies are well!

Ella
Can''t believe your twinsy are so mobile now.
I had to laugh at your description of lil MsK''s personality.
Never sit still and always on the move.
I guess that''s why she''s so much smaller than her brother huh?
All those workouts must have burnt plenty of calories.

Jas12
Doesn''t it make you happy and sad when they hit one of their milestones?
You are proud as can be when they can sit up but then it reminds you how fast they are becoming a toddler.
Haha, too cute about Co sitting in the shopping cart.
We are afraid to put J in those cuz we know that she''ll be scampering off it when she spot something of interest
23.gif

Yup, she''s crawling all over the place now.
Fortunately, she still hasn''t zipped across the room yet.
Sometimes she wants to move faster than her limbs can carry her and ended up flopping on the floor.

Tacori
Wow, 4 steps?
Not long now
5.gif

Love the latest avi.
She''s so pretty.

pave, not sure I would pay for a service but I am cheap like that
3.gif
Like I said before we only really baby proofed 2 rooms. The rest just have outlet covers. Our family room is 100% baby proofed. It''s nice to have one safe place. Her nursery is also baby proofed (though we still need to attach the furniture safety straps to the walls. She cannot get into our kitchen so I haven''t baby proofed that yet. We keep the bathroom doors closed.

Lili, thanks! I think we need an updated picture of J!

Tacori, your not a loser. Actually, walking late is a mark of intelligence - why get up and do it yourself when you know someone is just going to do it for you!
11.gif
9.gif

That''s funny about your DH being so big. Was Tessa big?
My babies were little, but my daughter was born posterior (sunny side up) so it''s good that she was small!
She''s actually been taking the path of most resistance ever since!LOL
She did not sleep through the night until she was 4 years old. Her brother, 3 years younger, slept through the night before a she did!
She''s a great kid though ( and now I can''t get her OUT of bed!)

Thanksgiving will be fun with Tessa mobile. I sure that the extra weight you are always talking about (but I can never see) will melt right off!

Curly--what a great story! Wow, 15 mins of pushing is terrific and no damage is even better!!! Sorry you had such a shmozzle at the start but you were lucky to get a good nurse and get down to business.
I had a very quick 2nd stage as well and i remember how great it was to finally push and to have progress so soon after hours and hours of what seemed like 'all pain and no gain'. If you were only 15 mins for the 2nd kid, imagine how quick the 3rd would be.... ;-)
Hope you are resting up a bit and we are all so excited to see pics of baby Lucy!

Tacori--can't wait to see the invites, do they have dots per chance?
1.gif

--cute new avi

Lili--ya, no chance that Co would try to climb out of the shopping cart--like i said, he's kinda lazy
3.gif

I try to picture him crawling at his this age and i just can't. J is a superstar! I second Tacori's request for a 6 month pic!

Tgal-- You must post the 6 month pic of A as well!

Iluvc--it scares me that your daughter did not sleep thru the night till 4 years old--eeks, you poor thing. Funny that she is a great sleeper now.

Q: can an infant overeat? Cohen had nearly 1/2 an avacado mixed with several tbls of rice cereal for dinner. It was a fairly big bowl of food-- would be a snack for me! The thing is he shows no sign of being full ( turning away, spitting out food, pushing the spoon or closing his mouth etc.) He does none of that--he flails his arms in excitement. opens his mouth huge each bite and goes "mmm mmm mmm" and cries when i take the bowl away (stops crying and repeats the other stuff if i show him the bowl again). Should i just keep feeding him? I feel like he's eating too much?

Anyone doing a family photo card for christmas? I am thinking i might, if i can find a design that isn't too cheezy. I ran into my wedding photographer last week and she offered to do a fall photo shoot for us next week at a hugely discounted cost b/c she uses my wedding photos in her advertisements. I am not really into posing for pics right now (pass the concealer for the dark circles under my eyes) but since it will cost next to nothing i may as well...
I

Awesome story, Curly!!!! I am SO HAPPY for you!!! Im so sorry you had to suffer for so long though without your epi....what a bummer! And thank goodness for your "own personal Dani" LOL!!!! You are too funny!!!!

I cant wait to see pics!!! Congrats again to you and your hubby, and of course, to big sister Lily too!!!!!!
36.gif
36.gif
36.gif

curly- wow woman, what a story. I can''t way to see pics. what does Lily think of her new baby sister?

tacori-yay for tessa..it won''t be long now.

jas12-that''s great that cohen is lovin some food. I don''t think babies can overeat but all of my kids would give pretty good signs when they were done. Jake starts spitting food back out or playing with his hands etc. He usually eats one jar of food and then I nurse him. the other day he ate a jar of food (the small size) and then ate a few bites of oatmeal too. I figure he''s hungry and just hope that the fuller belly will help his sleeping. oh and I do christmas pics every year and still and old fashioned and send the photo cards
41.gif

MrsS--sounds like Jake has a big appetite as well. I think i''ll ''test'' Co tomorrow and see how much he''ll eat just to make sure he''s not like a dog or something and doesn''t know when he is full--ha
2.gif
Jake sleeping any better?
I''ve always loved getting photo holiday cards in the mail from friends so i think i will do one. I actually keep those on my fridge (as opposed to regular cards which get tossed in recycling) so it might be a nice tradition to start.

Off to catch up on politics-oh what fun. Canada is about to have ANOTHER federal election (3rd in 4 years!!) since mommyhood hit i have been so bad keeping up with world news (or local news for that matter)--i figure i have to vote soon so i should read into it a bit
14.gif

iluvcarats, you are always so sweet! Well, if late walkers are smart hope that doesn''t mean early walkers are idiots
9.gif
I was also a late talker b/c my older sister did all my talking for me. So I guess I was just LAZY!!! Tessa was 7 lbs 2 oz, 20 inches long a week late. I was 5 lbs 14 oz (sunny side up as well!) 3 weeks early. DH was 10 lbs a few oz at full term
23.gif
I can''t remember his length. I was so scared I was going to have a big baby (I am a naturally small girl, only 5''1") but my doctor assured me babies side comes from the mom. BTW notice I never post pictures of my BODY. Haha! But I just have to remind myself I have lost 45 lbs, I have lost 45 lbs. Just 10 more to go.
1.gif
Your daughter sounds like she is a lot of fun! Oh, and a sleeper now hopefully makes up for the first few years.

Jas12, surprisingly NO dots. I used diamonds instead b/c they went with the font. I will have to upload a picture of it. T is always trying to crawl out of the shopping cart now. Such a pain. My doctor said a baby *can* overeat. So I would monitor it. I wish I could help you design a holiday card. You should have your picture taken FOR SURE!

MrsS, she is pretty proud of herself. How are all 3 of your babies doing? What are they going to be for Halloween? Are you settled into your new city?

Finally have enough time to properly catch up!

iluvcarats~Thanks so much!

Tacori~Yay Tessa!!!
36.gif
36.gif
What a big girl! The pic of her standing is abosolutely priceless. And the new avatar-absolutely love it!! Funny you mention the hair washing thing-I only recently (after I chopped my hair when T was 6 weeks) started skipping washings because my stylist pretty much made me.
16.gif
It was soooo hard for me because I felt like my hair was so darn greasy. Now, I think my second-day hair actually looks better. Weird. What do T's invites look like? Are you doing a theme of some sort? I'm sure they're awesome since you're so creative.

Jas12~Super cute pics! I can't believe it's already so cold you're thinking snow. It's by no means a tropical heaven here in Nebraska, but we're still in the high 70's....I can't imagine snow already. Yay for Co and his sitting!!
36.gif

puffy~Thanks for asking. Neither of us are really getting much better. T is sleeping better at night at least. I'm worried she's unable to kick it because the kids at daycare are sick. Yuck.

lili~Glad J is being tough with the cold! The way I see it, some day they'll have to go to school and there's tons of germs there too....we're just preparing them!
3.gif
T hates it when I try and such the snot too. Typical babies. Don' they understand ho wmuch better they're going to feel?
9.gif
I can totally relate to how bad it feels going back to work. Hang in there and if you need to vent, we're always here!

Snlee~You are a rock star, my friend! Can't wait to see some pictures!

QT~Thanks. It was very nice of our pedi to help me out! I'm sorry M isn't doing so well after the shots. Shots are no fun. The gift basket you made sounds awesome!

ella~So funny how their personalities are set so early. I can totally understand what you're saying. And how funny they are fighting over toys. Get your white and black striped shirt-your reffing duty has begun!

Bobo~sorry about the scare. Hope things are going better.

Curly~Wow!! 8cm until the epi. Darn them. But, yay for a short time of pushing. I only pushed 4 total times with T so I'm hoping I have a similar experience with my second. Can't wait to see pics of your little beauty! Congrats again!

Probably missed something. Been away for the entire weekend. We were just trying to spend time with family and get stuff done around the house. T is still under the weather but she's in very good spirits during the day for the most part. She climbed a full set of stairs the other night (with my supervision of course) and is her usual crazy self for the most part. Just a lot of snot and coughing. Hopefully not for long. I plan to keep up better over the next week so I don't have to do another marathon post like this one! Good nite all!

Burk hope the two of you get better soon. at least T is sleeping better and it''s a good thing that she is happy and acting like herself during the day. she is growing up so quick...stairs already! YAY!!!

jas12 as tacori said, i believe that they can overeat. but that said, every time i would feed Brady, he would eat like he hadn''t eaten the entire day. he still gets excited when i put him in his chair to eat, and when he''s done eating but he sees that we are still eating, he will sign for "more" or just scream. haha. it sounds like Co has a very healthy appetite.

ok so call me crazy, but i believe that Brady said his first word. i mean, other than mama, baba, dada, hiiiii, baaaa baaaa. he said "up" and reached for me. am i crazy?!? i swear i heard it. every time i pick him up or he wants to be picked up, i say up and keep repeating it. i''ll have to see if he does it again later.
