jas12 you have got one little smartie pants!! B started to swipe at things when he was around 10 months so sounds like Co is doing what MOST babies do at that age when they don't want something. and he still does it to this day. just yesterday i brought him to get a haircut and he was trying to smack the poor ladies arm away and smack the razor. he even tried to take a good swipe at me so i had to tell him NO and he calmed down a bit but a few minutes later he was at it again. is Co talking yet? are you thinking of having a mommy present made?

tacori a few good days away is NICE. yeah, there's nothing to worry about with T. she's probably got a ton learned and memorized but she's just too busy off on her own to conquer the world. i just think that B is WAY too curious. he likes to know about everything, or i'm just crazy for imagining it and tell him way too much and he just likes to listen to my sweet voice. HAHA!!

snlee how was D last night? i hope you both had a better night.

ETA: BURK: i hope T feels better!! poor thing
7.gif

Burk, poor T! There is NOTHING cute about toddler vomit.
14.gif
Hope you don''t get it. Wash your hands a lot. I guess the cable guy panicked. Still annoying for you!!! Very excited about your new hours.

Puffy, she is stubborn so she probably doesn''t "play" into our games like Stewie on family guy. Haha. Who knows WHAT she is thinking.

Jas12, forgot to say yeah T does that too. Attitude indeed...but normal. She does that when she is done eating or if I try to wipe her face. Of course she says "No, no, no!" and shakes her head too. I swear "no" is her FAVORITE word.

Puffy~Thanks. Hopefully it''s just the 24 hour version...we''ve had kids at school out for up to 3 days with it!
6.gif

Tacori~No, not cute at all. Wash, wash was is what I''ll do. Pretty sure "no" is Tayva''s favorite word, too. It certainly is the one she says the most. She also does slapping thing when she''s done eating. She caught me off guard last week and slapped a hand with a spoon for of fruit and oatmeal that ended up EVERYWHERE!
20.gif
Then, she looked at me and said "no, no, mamma!"

Jas, consider yourself lucky that Co has JUST started doing that. As you know, Amelia disliked eating, so she started that swiping, hands flaping thing early...like 3-4 months ago!

I think you asked some pages back about Amelia''s mobility? Well, we''re doing lots of "drills" (i.e. tummy time with lots of tempting toys around her) but she still won''t move forward. She can move in circles and backwards, but that''s it. She just won''t get her legs under her. She HAS however FINALLY learned to roll over both ways and she loves doing that. She had known how to do it for awhile, but never really rolled over from tummy to back. However, she disliked tummy time so much for awhile that she really made an effort to get off it.

Other than that, eating is going much better. No more baby food and she seems SOOO happy with that. So far she loves bread, yogurt (Yo Baby), string cheese, oatmeal, and a few other things. She doesn''t get her morning bottle until after breakfast now that helped a ton.

Sorry about some of these tough nights with the babies. So sad when they happen, but mostly they seem to pass, so here''s hoping!

Speaking of, Amelia woke up at 3:30 am screaming...I went in there, and PEEYEWW, the smell! She had a giant #2 in her diaper, which is a first for the middle of the night! So I cleaned her up and she was so upset (I think she had a bit of a rash because who knows how long it was there) that I picked her up and sat and rocked her for a bit. And you know what? For a *split* second, as I rocked her in the middle of the night and she just lay there happy and smiling in my arms, I actually MISSED those middle of the night feedings when all was quiet in the house and it was just the two of us. I just have a low nightlight in her room and she was staring at it and her profile looked so soft and angelic.
30.gif

Yeah well, I got over all that 5 minutes later and chucked her back in her crib and walked out.
9.gif

Burk--
Haha, DH is thinking the same too.
Before Miss Busy Body here, we were thinking that we want 2.
Now DH is saying that perhaps J can be the only child
41.gif

Oh no....poor Tayva. It's a good thing it's the weekend, so she can stay home and recuperate.
I hope you don't get it too.

Puffy--
That is so cute that B is helping you with the slippers.
I think J will be taking them off to eat them instead.
Weird girl, puts everything in her mouth except food.
Gave her some slices of pear and she was really apprehensive about putting them in her mouth,
but everything else (especially dirty stuff) goes right in w/o a hesitation
38.gif

B sounds so cute with his laugh.
I'll have to teach J that laugh too.....although she does have a pretty funny laugh and smile herself.

Snlee--
Poor D. I think it's teething.
Hehe, they are so much cuter when they can interact with you huh?
Although I still love the stage when they are just a blob -- but still a bundle of love to cuddle.

ETA: Can't wait to see your push pressy.

TGal--
She is spunky and with major attitude.
Very impatient. She'll plow over anything to get to where and what she wants.
How is sweet Amelia doing?

QT--
35.gif

With the economy the way it is now, being busy with work is a good thing.
Well, weekend is here so you can post more hopefully (or maybe not since it is Chinese New Year Eve this weekend).
Is M going to be dressed up in her chinese outfit for the ocassion?

Jas12--
Sorry about the rough nights.
Hope Co gets back to his old routine.
Wow, what a smartie pants you got there!
Knows so much already -- all those nutrients must be going all to his brains!
Yup, J has been doing that swiping too as well as the arching the back and screaming.
She lets us know when she''s not happy that something is taken away from her.
38.gif

She''s still working on her 7th and 8th tooth.
They broke surface, but not completely out yet, so she''s fussy as ever and a complete drool machine.
And she''s on a hunger strike too -- hasn''t been eating any solid and much milk since the beginning of the week.

TGal--
How about putting her cup of water in front of her instead?
Sounds like she''s making progress though -- moving in circles and backwards.

burk YIKES 3 days!!! i really hope it''s just for the day.

tacori haha!!! someday soon, she''ll be telling you everything that she is thinking
1.gif
even though B doesn''t say what he''s feeling, i just feel like he talks WAY too much. when i don''t listen to him, he gets in my face and babbles on.

lili haha!! B used to put things into his mouth, but unless it''s food, he doesn''t so much anymore. how is J? walking yet? haha, i ask you every time just because she is so mobile and started so young! i LOVE listening to baby laughs, they laugh so darn cute!

tgal awwwww, how sweet!!!

qt how''s M doing?

ok...i had to share the news...i brought B to the post office with me just at first and we were waiting in line when he yanks on my hand and says "mommy, mommy, mommy." so finally i said "yes sweetie..." he pointed to the lady in front of us and said "mommy, baby." WOW!!! i think he learned that from baby einstein. the lady was pushing a stroller with her baby in it.

QT, I hope everything is okay with you.

Jas, you deserve a baby ring! What are you thinking about?

fieryred, yes, I registered with my home address.

For those of you who haven''t seen my baby ring in SMTR - linky

Ahhhh baby will not stop pooping today! Third time today and it''s not even noon yet! Diaper change - BRB!

Wow, 7th and 8th tooth! You gotta show pics when the come in..she''ll have a full tooth grin!

Amelia only has two chompers...still waiting for those top two to come in.

Speaking of screaming when something is taken away - my cousin and I find it so strange that Amelia doesn''t do that. My friend has a 15 month old and I specifically remember at 9 months he really KNEW when something was taken away and showed his unhappiness about it. Threw a fit with the back arching and everything. So in my mind, 9 months seemed normal for that behavior and I marked the milestone in my mind.

Amelia will play with lots of things but if I take it away, she couldn''t care less and moves on to the next thing. A couple of weeks ago, I did an experiment and surrounded her with a bunch of toys and one by one started to take things away from her after she grabbed them. Finally, I grabbed the last thing away from her. She stared at me for a sec, then proceeded to just play with her shirt!!

Not my idea of a go-getter!!

Too many smart Pricescope babies!

I may start Amelia on stuff like that in her second year. I know they say babies learn more from their parents interactively, but I''ve realized I''m a dummy and babies don''t learn much from dummies.

The issue is that she doesn''t *want* anything that much so not much motivates her. I''ll try her sippy cup though...she loves that. Good idea.

She''s starting to step around when she''s standing though. I have a feeling I have a baby who is going to skip crawling. I''d be SO sad though...nothing cuter than seeing that baby tooshie move!!

Burk, poor T! She's been through so much lately! I hope she feels better soon!

TGal, awwww how sweet! Someday I'm sure I'll miss those quiet middle of the night feedings.

lili, yes, very cute! I love how he has more control over her body too. Makes carrying him easier and makes you feel loved when he is excited to see me! I do miss when he was a tiny newborn though. Any special plans for CNY?

Last night was better. Had some crazy cries and he wanted to be held in the beginning. Finally, at 1am he went to sleep and it was a usual night with one feeding.

TGal--
Too funny about the toy experiment
9.gif

You know what I think.
Amelia is just too darn mellow and laid back to sweat over the little stuffs
5.gif

Believe me, count yourself lucky that you don''t have to see those meltdown episodes.

I wouldn't be surprised if A is one to skip the crawling stage.
I know what you mean. I love it when their little tooshie gently sway back and forth when they crawl slowly
5.gif

Which reminds me, I better take some clips of her crawling from the back -- got catch that tushie on film.

Have you tried pushing her legs under her?
J was trying to push off with her legs extended when she first tried to crawl.
I grabbed both of her legs and shove them under her and she got the picture and took off from there.

puffy--
haha, i know, you ask me that question just about every other posts.
still not yet, but i think she's getting there.
she took a step or 2 this past week.
the problem with her is that she is much too impatient to stand still for a second.
still does not know how to to get into the standing position w/o help yet...
but she's taking her first steps.
didn't have much luck since she'll crawl up to a furniture or person and help herself up.
then try to turn around and walk at the same time
38.gif

naturally, her feet get all twisted and she falls down.

Awww....you must be so proud of B!
Who said television is bad for kids?

QUESTION: We are hosting a play date tomorrow and Tessa has had a cold for the last week. My question is would you guys be pissed if you came over to my house and you saw my kid with a runny nose? She never had a fever and she should be on the tail end but should I just cancel?

You should give them the option to cancel by calling and letting them know. I don''t think I would care but some moms would certainly want to cancel.

I love the PS community, especially the mommies group; you are so caring. Everything is fine. Just had been busy with work. With this economy, there’s more to follow-up on with bill collections, business changing ownership, etc. I am not complaining since I still have a job.

lili
SIL is eager to have joint parties because they are cheap. I don’t mean to sound harsh, but they are the type who will do anything to save a few bucks (they are also the ones who are talking about buying a second house for investment). And that’s part of the reason why I don’t want to have a joint party with them.

For Chinese New Year, I got M a First Impression outfit from Macy’s that has a peach blossom print jacket with Chinese knots as buttons, and the pants is solid pink color with an embroidery of peach blossoms and Chinese knots. It’s Chinese-y, but not the traditional type outfit.

I won’t be busy preparing for the New Year this weekend, but DH supposedly planned a day of activities for my b-day tomorrow. We’ll spend the day with M, and then go out for a dinner date without her.

puffy
Thanks for asking. M is ducky. Hehe. I kind of gave up on CIO because I just couldn’t handle it. So now I am trying the whisper method or whatever it’s called.

Hi Burk. =P

snlee
Everything is ok. Thanks for asking.

Tacori
I would just call the playmate mom and ask if she wants to keep the play date or not. Personally I would be ok for M to be around a kid who is on the tail end of a cold.

Hope everyone else has a great weekend.

J was trying to push off with her legs extended when she first tried to crawl.
I grabbed both of her legs and shove them under her and she got the picture and took off from there.
I''ve tried all sorts of things...searched the net for exercises and ideas and are implementing all those, including a rolled up towel to help get her legs underneath her. No dice.

I just tried the take away toy game again. It''s starting to crack me up actually. I took a cordless phone, cell phone, stuffed duck and fisher price giant green key away from her one by one. I was sitting indian style and put in in the space between my legs. She''d look over and see the toy there and I''d say "What? All gone." So she moved on to the next toy, and she''d keep looking over, reaching once or twice before moving on. I took the last one and asked her "Now what are you going to do?" We were sitting on my bed so she started playing with sheets. Kids are so amusing to their parents for the silliest reasons.

I wouldn't worry too much about A not crawling TGal. My niece did not start crawling until she was about 13/14 months and it didn't impact on her development at all. My son crawled at 9 months but refused to walk until he was almost 2 - it drove me crazy, especially for the 3 months I had to lug around an infant and a non-walking toddler, but he got there in the end.

One thing about the skipping crawling, I used to work with paediatric Occupational Therapists and early childhood teachers and they all said that crawling was really important for left/right brain development. Hope that doesn't sound alarmist as I realise there are some babies who just don't want to crawl, but gist of what I was told was that it is usually preferable to get them to do some crawling if possible.

snlee--
lovely ring.
can''t wait to see some hand shots.
someone should start a thread for the push present (and throw in pictures of the pushee too :P)

hehe, i didn''t get your acronym at first.
thought that you were referring to a location or something.
anyway, not doing anything special for cny.
just go over to my parents for the cny eve for the dinner.
and maybe take off work a little early on monday to go over to my parents again.
and how about yourself?
hmmm.....are you chinese or korean btw?

qt--
awwee...that outfit sounds so cute.
you got to post a picture of M in it!
and how sweet of DH to plan something for your bday.
enjoy your night out!

jas12--
forgot to say...how exciting about breaking grounds for your new home!

tgal--
hehe....i''m chuckling here myself at your little experiment.
i can just "see" A looking at you and say "whatever, i can amuse myself here with the sheets. no sweats off my back" :D

Burk - I''m so sorry to hear that T is not feeling well
15.gif
I hope she gets feeling better over the weekend.

Tgal - Sometimes James has moments like that too in the middle of the night. He''s just so snuggly and warm.....and it feeds into me wanting to TTC soon
11.gif
! Also, James still only rolls from belly to back and he''s 6.5 months. Tries to go from his back to his belly but isn''t quite there yet.

Tacori - I agree with the others - give the other mom(s) the opportunity to cancel although I''d personally be fine with it.

Q - Happy New Year to you and your family! The outfit sounds really cute - you must post pics
12.gif

Snlee - I remember those endless poopy days! It will get better, I promise

Not much new here. Work is pretty busy for me since I only work 30 hours per week, as compared to my 40 hours + pre-baby. No time to goof off really. Made another attorney contact today for some possible sub-contracting work for me. He''s looking into getting into the bankruptcy business so I told him my rates and gave him the option of calling me for help with document prep or client interviews.

We are going to *try* to get our family pictures done tomorrow. DH and I have a lunch date with some of his coworkers so hopefully when we return James will be up from a nap and cheery. The photo place is also open on Sunday and you do not need an appointment so if tomorrow doesn''t work out then we''ll try for Sunday.

qt M''s outfit sounds adorable. have a great night out with your DH. happy birthday...when is it?

lili heehee, J is such a mover! i bet she can''t sit still for very long, huh? YAY for her first step! you are in TROUBLE!!!
yes, i am very proud of B. i actually turn on baby einstein for him when i HAVE to get something done. that''s about the only show he will sit still for now. well that and a few other ones, but baby einstein just happens to be in the DVD player.

tgal i am sure amelia is learning a ton from you! and luckily you don''t have to turn to the TV as a last resort to get amelia to just hang out and stop causing trouble. she will crawl when she is ready. B crawled AFTER he started cruising.

HAPPY WEEKEND TO ALL MOMMIES AND BABIES AND TODDLERS!!!

puffy
b-day is tomorrow. will be my last year as a 20 something. =P

qt- happy early b-day

tacori- late to reply but I think calling the mom and asking is what I would do. I personally wouldn''t care either..tis the season, most kids have some kind of runny nose going on..

tgal-I''ve been following you and Amelia and the crawling thing because my sister''s little girl is 8 1/2 months and not crawling at all. She sits but will not change into any position from the sitting one and if my sister puts her on her tummy or back she just cry''s...hate''s it. her little girl likes to pull on your hands and tries to walk. I wonder if she''ll be one to skip the crawling stage too. My sister has been trying really hard to make sure she is giving her lots of time on her tummy now though in hopes it will get her going. they have hardwood floors in their house and it''s cold on the floor so I don''t think she puts her down a lot. plus, she loves the saucer and spends a ton of time in there. Anyway, I''ve told her about Amelia too b/c my sister is started to get really worried and I don''t want her to freak out or feel that he kid is all alone. whenever you post idea''s I share them with her too
