Queen Elizabeth is seriously unwell :(

What a shame @dk168, we used to live near Windsor so have visited the castle many times with US guests. Hopefully, there’ll be another opportunity for you to visit.

Indeed a shame, nevermind.

I had been to Buck House in 2012 for the Diamond Jubilee exhibition, and was debating if I should attend the Platinum exhibition.

In the end I decided to go, thinking there would not be another significant jubilee exhibition in her name,

St Giles in Edinburgh tonight. We were fortunate to be able to file past the coffin. She is guarded by the Royal Company of Archers., they looked amazing. It was a lovely experience.

Thank you for the pictures. They make me feel very emotional. I won't be able to get to London to pay my respects due to being in school this week then we are away at the wkend, which we have decided not to cancel.

Bees are so sensitive to their keepers and to stressors! It’s a whole thing. They will make a big stink anytime there’s a disruption and they will also only take to one person. They are just fascinating creatures. And when you think about it it they are sort of named after royalty: there’s the Queen, there’s Royal jelly, there’s a hierarchy and tiers of society, etc.

The Queen's death affects me more than I had anticipated, probably it opened the compartment where I put my saddest memories like the death of my father, my late partner and his/my dog.

Cried a few times already, and I expect there will be more tears to come!

You need to let that happen whenever you feel it. I also cried when they announced her death last Thursday afternoon, as did my 11 & 13 year old daughters. It's just so sad. The Queen has been in all our lives for a very long time & we will naturally feel her loss & the huge change that it brings.

(sorry to be a cynic but he really, really wants a knighthood, and had a police escort in the queue)

You are not alone in thinking that, Gary Barlow is another one and his chance had been dashed due to the off-shore tax account issue.

DK :))

Scientists have discovered that bees communicate by dancing.
When one finds a good source of pollen it returns to the hive, and does a dance as the others gather around to watch.
Components of the dance communicate direction and distance from hive to the food, even the quantity of food and take into account the movement of the sun.
Other bees follow the instructions, like humans follow their car's NAV's voice.

But how did the bee-keeper tell the bees that the Queen is gone?
I wonder whether the beekeeper did a "The Queen is dead." dance, and what that dance looked like.

Here's an amazing 7-minute video on bee communication.

Here is a good blog on how to tell a hive is queenless. I'm hoping to add a hive or two so learning all I can!
