OK, Snooper, this may be officially the cutest picture I have EVER seen!! They are impossibly adorable, peeking over the edge of the cat tree, looking they are all ready for trouble with their sweet little kitten faces. Thank you so much for sharing these new pics.

That is so sad about your friend''s blue point and his heart condition. I can only imagine how heartbreaking that must be.
39.gif
He is very beautiful and I am sure that however his condition progresses, your friend will give him all the love that''s possible, and will know when its time for him to say goodbye. My sympathies to your friend and to the kitty.

Aw, thanks guys! You are all so kind and welcoming!!

Well, clearly we know nothing about ragdolls, seeing as we were told and therefore just assumed that he was one! But I looked up “Maine Coons” on the internet, and all of the pictures looked like Mini-Muzzes!! So I don’t think there is any point in denying his true genetic composition!! Ha ha :)

But what makes me chuckle, is how a New England cat designed for harsh winters, winds up in Australia! We live in the State of Victoria (which is down south and along the coastline) but even still, our “average” winter temperature, would be a low of 8 deg c and a high of 14 deg c (that is 46 and 57 degrees fahrenheit respectively). So no bitterly cold winters, no snow, rarely a frost!! He has survived his first summer here (we often super hot summer days in the 35 - 40 deg celsius range, which is 95 - 104 fahrenheit!!) so he is doing ok!!

I will try and get my fiance to post some more pictures of Murray, on the weekend (I only posted the photos I had on my work computer!!)

Hi, I''m new here.

I used to breed Ragdolls, until DH became allergic. When I came across this thread, I thought, "Aha - there is a connection between Ragdolls and diamond rings!" LOL!

I was just about to develop my own pattern, lynx-point, when I had to stop breeding. Soon after, other breeders had broken away from the controlling Ragdoll club rules, and were breeding lynxpoints. It was like a cult, the world of Ragdoll breeding. But I guess each breed is in a way. The Ragdoll originator, Ann Baker, was a weird one. I was breeding when she was still alive, and because I belonged to the organization that broke off from her, I would occasionally get wacky threatening letters from her. (She was in her late 70s?) All my Rag-friends got them too. We just tossed ''em.

One thing about this breed that I didn''t believe til I saw it - they grow very slowly, many not reaching full bone size until about age 4. They can get as big as 25 lbs, esp the males. The other thing that I found interesting is that Radolls are clumbsy. I couldn''t believe the first time one of mine jumped and missed and fell, flump. I''d always had cats, but never seen a clumbsy one. They''re like dogs. They even fetch.

Enjoy this wonderful breed, and know that deep in the mid-Atlantic, a very jealous woman

is feeling miffed. I could get a sphinx, but really ....

Awwwww! Love all the new pics. I clearly have been derelict in my posting of teh cuteness--I''ll put up some of the new ones when I get home, but for now here''s one FI took a week or so ago:

Also, Chen the clumsy cat managed to *burn his nose on the radiator* It was quite gory (2nd degree burn) but healed up allright after 2 weeks or so. His nose still has a big pink healing stripe where it used to be grey!

Glad to hear that Chen is mending well since burning his cute nose! There are a few radiators in my apartment and Omie enjoys playing with her toys very near to them, which scares me to death, since she is not very graceful.

Your FI captured a lovely kitty moment - that picture is precious!

Snooper - your raggie pictures are too cute!

Bailey, our baby, when he was 2 months old. He has the most adorable little blaze on his nose.

We put orange softpaws on him once.

We rolled off the couch laughing when he was trying to drink water out of a glass.

Thanks for starting this thread, Lynn B!

Kittygirl - Bailey''s blaze is adorable...such a cute kitten. How old is he now?

I love the picture with his Softpaws so much that I created an avitar for you. Don't worry about hurting my feeling if you do want to use it. Many here prefer avitars showing of their bling, which I can understand! I just could not help myself!! :)

Since this thread introduced me to ragdolls for the very first time, I figure that you guys should get the sneak preview picture of my new kitty!

We don''t get to pick him up until after Christmas, but I am SO excited.

Currently named Benson, likely to be renamed Miles or Coltrane. This is the only pic I have right now, because he is in Salt Lake City and I am in Colorado, but there will be LOTS more coming!

Kittygirl, Bailey is ADORABLE!!!! So cute. And I love that name - I thought about it for our new kitten but I''m saving it for the Golden Retriever that I''m determined to have one day.

Congrats, BigDiamonds, on becoming a proud ragdoll owner! Kittens are so much fun. They can be pain in the neck but well worth it!
Your baby is adorable. Make sure you spend A LOT of time to bond with him in the first few days. They deserve all your attention.

OMG, congrats on your raggie!! He is so adorable, what color does the breeder anticipate him to be?

You are quite welcome! If there is a different picture you would like modified into an avitar, just post it and I will see what I can do. Please understand, I am not a guru in this area though!

Oh my - so much new Raggie adorableness to drool over!!

cookie tyme - that''s so cool that you knew Ann Baker and used to be a breeder. Can I ask you what you think of my little Oliver? He was an orphan, rescued as a 1-week old kitten from a shelter, so we know nothing of his parentage, but he certainly looks a lot like a Raggie to us. He also acts exactly like you described, especially the clumsiness. DH and I like to say he "rides the ''special bus''" because, well, he''s just not graceful at all like our other two cats. It sure is funny when they fall and make that flump though because they are so huge and floppy, huh? I''m so mean, laughing at my poor kitty...

Of course you don''t have to answer that at all, no pressure, I promise, I was just curious because I''ve never "met" a Ragdoll expert in any context, and I would just be so curious to get someone''s opinion who is more informed than I am.

Oh RT - that picture is too CUTE

Looks like kitty harmony truly does reign at your house. They are such angels - look at them all sleepy. ::happy sigh:: How is MC doing these days? I''d love to see a full-size shot - he must be growing like gangbusters!

Kittygirl - Bailey is ADORABLE. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the kitten pictures. Especially that one of all the kittens in the basket where he''s all stretched out and he has that adorable little round kitten belly. TOO CUTE

The orange softpaws are hilarious - I love that omie made that into an avatar for you!
9.gif
I know what you mean about making you laugh. DH and I spend hours laughing at Oliver''s antics - he''s not super-bright, but he is VERY clumsy, and he does the silliest things, which are somehow all the more comical because he''s so huge and fluffy and floppy doing them
9.gif

Bigdiamonds - what a CUTIE PIE. OMG, I seriously don''t think I can handle how adorable he is. You must be so excited - I don''t think I could sleep, eat, sit still... What a perfect X-Mas gift!!! I can''t wait to see pics when he arrives with you - you must post lots and lots and lots of pictures. Thank you so much for sharing that picture - he is impossibly adorable

OK, and because I''m post-happy these days, I have (yes, again...I know...please don''t ban me from the Ragdoll thread...
5.gif
) pictures of not-so-little Ollie. I realized I had posted a lot of nap-time shots but very few action shots, so I''ve captured a few of him in one of his favorite spots - looking out our living room window.

Ollielookingoutwindow111.jpg

And another one - Lynn, this one''s for you...check out THE TAIL!!!

Olliesittingoutwindow222.jpg

And another - this one gives a decent perspective of his size (he''s now about 16 months old) in relation to our other (almost 4 year old) full-grown kitties - he''s definitely going to be the biggest!

Ollieandgirlsonwindow333.jpg

Notice how because his legs are shorter in relation to his body compared to the other cats, he seems to "hunch" over when he sits...DH and I get a kick out of this...

Ollieandgirlsonwindow444.jpg

Another...I just love the markings, and how soft and furry-looking he is (and his fur feels like a bunny rabbit in real life - I LOVE it)

Olliesittingoutwindow555.jpg

Lynn - notice THE TAIL...again...I love how it wraps so far around him when he''s sitting up like that, that it looks like he has his own personal moat made out of Tail

Olliesittingoutwindow666.jpg

finally one of his handsome little face
