How''s sweet Little Miss Bailey doing?!

Boo is sooooo cute, Lynn! He''s getting HUGE...And hairy!

Some you may remember that I posted a while back about getting a new ragdoll kitten. I picked him out over the internet/by phone in November, but he wasn''t old enough to come home until New Years Eve. After a long day of flying to Denver from Salt Lake City via Houston (don''t ask), he finally made it to his new home.

He is SO cute and I couldn''t be happier with him, but he is a LOT more work than I bargained for! I can''t believe how high maintenance he is, but it''s worth it.

And now, introducing....Coltrane!

Weird lighting, but I think this pic is so cute.

He rolls around on his back all the time - so funny!

That''s all for now! Please expect to be barraged with many pictures as he grow up. :-) I also have plans to train him to walk on a leash, so if it ever works I will post pics!

LWD, Speck is adorable! How much does he weigh? He looks BIG!

Oh, BD! He is ADORABLE!!!! Can''t wait for more photos! YAY! And oh, don''t forget to show him off over at RC!

BTW, though, why do you say that he is more work than you bargained for?! I think Boo is so low maintenance... a little food, a little litter scooping... playtime, bedtime... *DONE!*

And not to be pesky, but when you get a chance, could you please tell us about the flight? I am always curious to hear people''s flying-with-a-pet stories. Thank you!

everyone''s ragdolls are so beautiful....

we have two: a seal mitted and a blue mitted, both 6 years old --- for anyone considering a ragdoll cat, they are like people!! I can''t say enough about this wonderful breed...

sorry for the blurry pic -- but here are both our boys... Speck and Zeke

Lynn, I was just writing you a note about Boo but I lost it. His face is so amazing! I love it! And that tail.

I think it''s just been so long since I''ve had a kitten, I had forgotten what they are like. Most of the cats we had growing up were adopted adults, so we missed the kitten state. Coltrane is good overall, but he is into EVERYTHING. I am constantly shoo-ing him away from power cords, pulling him off of the table, trying to find him in all the shoes in the closet, or stopping him from scratching the couch. In typical pet fasion, he has a ton of toys but he''s never interested in them.

He has been getting better about sleeping at night, but last night he was just a terror. I have a duvet cover with these raised embroidered flowers, and he woke us up three times during the night attacking them. Then he woke me up biting my hand. Then my ear. Then making a nest in my hair. Seriously disruptive. I try to wear him out by playing in the evening, but it''s hard to get him to play hard enough to get all his energy out. That''s why I want to get him on a leash so that I can take him for walks. Need to make sure that his immune system is up for it though, so that project is pending a trip to the vet.

The flying thing was not too bad overall; we were shipping him, not flying with him. It would have been easier if it wasn''t the dead of winter. We were fighting snow and 20-30 degree weather in both SLC and Denver, so most of the airlines wouldn''t ship him. The only one who ships in very cold or hot weather is Continental because they keep the animals in temperature-controlled vans before/between/after flights. So they were our only option, but they don''t fly direct so we had to send him through Houston. He was okay when he showed up, just VERY unhappy. We tried to use a kitty delivery service where someone rides on the plane with him, but it didn''t work with the holidays and the weather. I briefly contemplated just flying up to get him and coming back, but we were looking at about $400 for my ticket + his fee. The shipping was about $130, plus a health certificate and a crate, so about $170 total.

And THE TAIL - look at that, cousin Ollie will be so proud!! I LOVE the way his color is darkening, and he is just too beautiful for words. I'm glad he was OK with travelling - Ollie hates the car, and I'm to paranoid to take any of our babies on a plane unless absolutely necessary...

ETA: Ollie does that exact same face with the head cocked to the side like that. Too FUNNY!!

BD - Coltrane is such a darling little guy!! That pic of him on his back is just to die for - I just want to bury my face in the sweet little kitten tummy

He sounds like a typical kitten right now with the craziness - Oliver went through a phase like that as well. The good news is they do grow out of it (it helps to remember that when they are biting you at obscene hours of the morning)

LWD - Speck and Zeke are such beautiful boys - I love that shot of both of them!!

Awwww, AG, I''m so glad you saw these latest photos! Boo''s color is changing quickly now, almost everyday he seems darker. It will be fun to see how he "ends up". He weighs 11 - 11.5 pounds now, but his weight hasn''t changed in almost 2 months, so he''s really slowing down. I think he may hit another growth spurt, but all in all, I wonder if he might not end up as big as I originally thought I would?! As long as he''s healthy, I would actually love it if he stayed rather "small". How much does Sweet Ollie weigh these days?

And yes, I LOVE that he''s a good traveler! We have really tried to foster that by taking him on lots of short trips, etc. This was his longest road trip (2 hours each way) and he did FINE, slept in my lap the whole time. And he was so good at our friend''s house, too, I think they were seriously impressed!

I just couldn''t be happier with this sweet boy!!!

Lynn, I can''t believe that Boo is 11 pounds! I would have guessed much bigger. I was just showing his cute pictures to FI and the first thing he said was, "that''s a big cat." Makes me wonder what the 20 pounds cats look like...

lovewhitediamonds and Bigdiamonds, what cuties you both have!

Lynn B, I must say your ragdoll has surely turned into a gorgeous cat from a cutie (your avatar). I LOVE seeing how their colors change!!!

My boys are 4 months, and they''re getting a bit darker in the face :) (L-R) Mittens, Tiskers

Haha, I know! He actually varies from 11 - 11.5 pounds, depending I guess on how recently he''s eaten or gone potty!

but are they BIO brothers???!!!!)

Yup! There were 3 from the same litter, and my friend adopted the other (Seal BiColor). I''m addicted to Raggies!!! Amazing personalities and I love when you hold them, upside down how they FLOP!!!! Tiskers is super floppy as he''ll arch his back, head goes back, etc.,

And how can you resist the BLUE eyes :) Your cutie''s are REALLY blue!

Now HE is big!!! I love huge cats. I really hope Coltrane grows up to be big like that, but I''ll love him either way. His dad was pretty big, but it was also his first litter so we''re not really sure what to expect. I keep describing ragdolls to people as "mutant huge," and the other day FI said "um, that doesn''t sound very cute when you describe it like that."
