Beautiful picture to remember him by!
Have you ever seen anything so sweet? This is Nikki (black) and Brodie (white) - the reality is that for about 5 minutes before, Nikki was "cleaning" Brodie's eyes for him, and he was letting her do it happily. Then I snapped this picture - my favorite part is how she has her eyes closed, but he appears to be watching "Friends" out of the corner of his eye - typical male!
I had the worst day yesterday, at the beginning of the week a hand tamed Budgie that we had (family pet) died and yesterday we had to put down my son's Wheaten Scottish Terrier Toby, due to cancer. We got the dog as a puppy when my son was 1.5, my son is now 11. The dog, particularly when my son was small, before he went to school, was his constant companion.
The joy of owning pets and the sadness of losing them is an inevitable part of life and growing up but it was still painful to watch my 11 year old (who is now almost as tall as me) hurting so much these past few days. When they were much younger;
