Recs on where to start purchasing my first pair of diamond studs?

Hey Kim, could I get your thoughts on two pairs I have my eyes on? I saw you commented on another persons ACA choice so I would love your opinion.

0.838 CTW for $2519
1.029 CTW for $3582 (will 1.029 really be visually larger for the extra $1000?)

Between the two pairs, I feel like the H are a better match, but I prefer the size of the I. There's at least 0.34mm difference between the pairs, which is definitely in the range of being visible to the naked eye.

However, if your budget can stretch a little, I like these two sets better as far as matching. The first pair is only $176 more than your I pair above.

Yes, a lot of people consider I color as great value for the money for studs because they'll still face up very white, and since they're on the ears, they won't be scrutinized like an e-ring.

I had that diamond pair in my wish list of earrings. In the end I went for a different pair but it was a difficult decision. These are mine 0.804 ctw H VS2.

How are you liking the 6 prong setting with that size stud?

I highly recommend trying on different sizes if you're not sure. I bought a set of 3mm to 8mm studs for $8 on Amazon. I thought I wanted to go bigger than my 1ct 6.5mm CZ studs but the 7mm studs stuck out too much. And 6mm was too small from what I'm used to wearing.

curious about if color, cut, etc matter less if they’re studs versus a solitaire ring. Thinking 1cttw would be great but most bang for my buck would be great. James Allen, white flash, blue Nile? I have pave earrings but no studs!

Ok so I ended up going with the pair closer to .8 cttw ACAs and I’m amazed at how they look. I wanted something to pair with my little Costco diamond studs and I think the coverage looks pretty good. Thanks for everyone’s help! This is dangerous though because now I know what an ACA looks like ..

Those look great on you!! And yes aca diamonds are amazing. What are the stats? Color , clarity? If you don’t mind me asking.

I don’t mind! I know VVS isn’t necessary on a stud but I actually thought the price was pretty good. I have a nice pair of moissanite studs and I was prepared to not notice a different but I definitely do

That’s definitely not a big price difference between vs1 and vvs2 totally worth it. My sweet spot for diamonds is vs2. It’s mind clean and eye clean for me. I have a pair of 1.5 ctw aca F VS2 Studs and I love them but want to go bigger but can’t part with the F color and to afford an upgrade I’d have to go to an I. Which I don’t mind but the Fs are so white crisp and amazing I can’t bring myself to do it. I might get a pair of bigger lab diamonds and keep my F aca. I’m so on the fence. Anyhow your new studs are Amazing. Enjoy theM in good health.

Thanks, Kim! I almost went with the bigger pair you had posted but I was worried how they would look next to my small diamonds. However, the upgrade program is always there so who knows maybe in a year I’ll be talking about it again lol
