I usually buy classic pieces but this time, I got a red jadeite Ruyi set in 18K rose gold with green jadeite and diamonds for a bit of dramatic effect. =)2 I haven’t received them yet. Paid more than I wanted for it but I can’t find anything like it with nice color (not too brown, not too yellow), superb polish (there are jadeites that don’t polish well), and nice water/transluscency (not common for red jadeite), though the pieces are thinner than I’d like them to be (2.1-3.1mm).

I’ll post more photos when I receive them!

Omg that is so fancy!!!! And those earrings are massively dangly!!!!

You're going to look like an empress or noble consort (haha I've seen too many Chinese Qing dynasty series).

Can I have a close up of the rose on top of the pendant when you get them? I love the look of that!

Totally magnificent, I’ve never seen red jadeite before. With the rich green and diamonds wow.
Lots more photos please too.

WOW!!!! seriously incredible color and design. More pics please!

Yes! It’s a design that either you love or don’t. A bit out there. I like the rounded Ruyis. If you look at the earring size vs. the finger size, the stones aren’t so big (2.2mm across).

And I also see it! Depends on how I can carry it, there’s a thin line between looking like an empress or a consort. Lol.

I'm in awe of the red jade too! Gorgeous.

Thanks! They are usually opaque because they are the oxidation on the rind of the boulder so a big percentage are brownish, hardly falls on the reddish side. Many can be heated but not more than 580C because heat turns the stones opaque. I’ve seen a couple at a jade factory but cut as chips or same as the cutting of the greens in the pendant.

I’ll definitely post more photos.

Bought it while the price of red jade are reachable. Usually the color remains in a China as it is an auspicious color for Chinese culture. These colors used to be very affordable because the greens and lavenders are on the spotlight but the reds and icy jade prices are constantly rising.

I think it’ll look great as part of traditional Chinese wedding costume. Heirloom quality.

You rock that empress look girl! You're talking to someone who badly wanted a dangly jade hair piece so she could style her hair and pretend to be empress.

I love the beehive!!! And the last pic looks like a strawberry!!!!

Second last pic the pendant looks like a smiling strawberry of you look at it carefully! So cute!

I can always deal with smiling strawberries as long as they’re not body parts. Lol.

No! No! No Not another beautiful gem I don't have.... This forum is my financial ruin.....

Gorgeous! I love the design of the pieces and the luster of the stones.

Wow! Red jade, where or where have you been all my life?!!

I have never seen such red jadeite before, these look truly Apple red! Thanks for sharing the pics and I look forward to you modeling your empress gear!

Icy Red Jadeite is very rare and not big (so it’s almost surreal to have an icy red bangle) and not usually nice at low opaque quality which is too yellowish or brownish and looks like carnelian at commercial quality. But the high quality is icy and beautiful yet still priced way lower than the high quality greens and lavenders. Decided to get one while the prices are reachable because it’s steadily increasing as demand rises. If you look at the estimated price of fine red jadeites at Sotheby’s, the realized prices are way higher that the estimated prices.

Plus, red is always the go to colour for the Chinese market!

Wow... I did not know red jade can be so RED! The ones I have seen have been orangey or brownish & never red. Can't wait to see your photos

You need a jadeite hairstick to complete the look! Your hair's long enough too! :P

Some looked like there was a vase of flower jades on their heads! Lol.

Positively ROYAL! Eagerly waiting for pictures!

The days when you could spend HOURS doing the daily coiffeur lol!

The set has arrived!

First, the gold are not really thin on the pieces (estimated 9 grams of gold), though the jadeites are thin than what I usually get. It looks like the rind of a boulder because the stones are not “flat”, a bit wavy like following the contour of the boulder. The earrings are not so big, so I think the price mainly went to the big stone on the pendant. Also the green dangling chips are of nice vivid color. Imperial colored though for me the texture didn’t quite make it but transluscent.

Red stones have high water, good texture, color can shift to different honey colors...can be brownish but can also be bright in some light like sunlight where more red color appear. Can have the color of carnelian on some light but doesn’t look like carnelian because of overall texture and high polish luster.

Here they are!

Simply beautiful! I love that they follow the shape of the boulder.. it goes with the wave feeling of the ruyi shape and water within the stone. I also love that color has subtle shifts. Very elegant.

Gorgeous! And very true to colour too!

Let us know when you get your Empress on and wear them!!!!

I like the wave. Very cloud like, which horizontal ruyis also resemble.

@mellowyellowgirl
Empress mode on!

And to answer your previous question, I almost didn’t get it because I was told it was sold/on hold then it became available after a couple of days. :)
