Breathing a sigh of relief. I hope everything falls into place tomorrow.

I am hoping that there will be good (great) news in the morning via email in my inbox. As soon as I know, you guys will know.

(I didn''t sleep for 2 nights before I was able to buy it. I have a feeling this is going to be another one of those nights.)

Hoping for good news for you Freke!

i''m such a dope - sorry!

Bump for news?

It''s all good Whitby.

The USPS supervisor isn''t there today, so my recipient is calling tomorrow. Someone in the building DID sign for it though.

I''ll let you know when I know. Don''t worry. Heck. I may even start a whole new thread. A HAPPY one. Ugh.

BTW, I mailed out my engagement party invites yesterday around 4--and they already reached the people in town. I already have RSVPs for it. HOW IS IT POSSIBLE THAT THEY CAN DO THAT AND NOT FIND MY PACKAGE WHEN IT WAS SENT OUT MAY 13TH?!

wow- just read the whole thread, Freke. unbelievable!

i''m hoping that things are resolved- SOON

Ohhh Freke I hoped this would be solved for you by now. I know they''ll find it! Thinking positive thoughts...

That''s great! I hope they did in fact find it. But I don''t understand this whole thread. What''s the point of paying for insurance if you can''t get the money back if something is never found? I have sent two stones recently to different places and worried each time. But I thought if they got lost, I could at least collect on them.
Cind11 - First they deny that it is lost, then they deny your claim, then they deny your appeal... You can''t win.

Nothing yet. I''m a nervous wreck.

I can''t believe this

it makes me want to march down to my local USPS and give ''em a piece of my mind. Of course, they''d have no idea what I was talking about, but it would vent my frustration

I am SO SORRY this is getting dragged out. I cannot imagine what the holdup is - it''s getting BEYOND ridiculous.

this is ridiculous.

I SERIOUSLY cannot believe this is still going on! I''m so sorry!

Dust! Dust! Dust!!

Unbelievable.

I am just catching up on this thread. OMG, this sucks. I am so sorry you are having to deal with all this super slow bull...

I hope this turns out well.

Guess what?!

It was delivered to a suite in the building. The people in said suite are not giving up said package, and so nothing is happening. Because supposedly USPS can''t do anything about it. AND they won''t divulge what suite it is that has the package.

Anyone have any suggestions of what to do?

My thoughts:
1. Call USPS supervisor. Remind them that their gross incompetence in doing their jobs is what has led us to this point.
2. Remind them that it is a Federal crime for someone besides the addressee to open a package.
3. Mention lawsuits and pressing charges.
4. Not to mention the Postal Inspector.
5. Bring up the fact that if they DON''T do something then they could be considered an accessory to a crime.
6. Remind them again that this suite has to give up said package otherwise it is considered theft.

I AM LIVID.

Say WHAT?? They can''t DO anything about it? WTF? Absolutely unacceptable.

What the heck kind of "business" is in the market for STEALING gemstones from other jewelers??? I sure as heck hope its no one I would ever deal with. Shady on two counts, the other suite and the USPS.

This is a good plan, in my opinion. I don't know what else to add. I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS.

Ugh.

Look at this: Link

No wonder no one has gone up and down the halls knocking on people''s doors.

Oh Freke this is ridiculous. I think your game plan is a good one-USPS is responsible for getting this package back for you as it was their incompetence that caused the situation in the first place. I cannot believe that they can just let the suite that has it keep it?????

Aren''t you entitled to see WHO signed for the package. Perhaps with the name & a little sleuthing you could figure out which suite has the package & then phone the authorities (POLICE).

Or maybe you could send the rightful recipient a stack of photocopied WANTED posters for the stone ... spelling out that someone in the building is a THIEF and that the notices will stop of the stone is returned NO QUESTIONS ASKED to the rightful recipient.

AWFUL!!!! JUST AWFUL!!!

Oh no! How annoying and upsetting for you!!

I''m working on getting that signature...I''ll keep you guys updated.
