ONE MORE DAY FOR ME!! I will have my ring by 3:00 tomorrow hopefully!! I am so excited for tomorrow I can barely stand it!! FF/FI was laughing at me last night....

What do you guys think? The band on the ring looks a little bumpy to me, but it didn''t look bumpy on my finger and they didn''t do anything to the band, so I''m guessing it''s just the crazy magnification or something. Also, this band was shaped to sit perfectly with my wedding band so maybe that''s why. I don''t know, but MAN I''m excited! I got the shipping confirmation today, it''s supposed to be at the fed-ex place by 10:30 tomorrow! How will I ever get to sleep?

Wish I could say I had happy news too...but I can''t. So FI and I went to pick up the ring just now...and it was AWFUL!! The stones were set wrong in the center three (they didn''t sit at the same angles and one was set deeper than the other three.) It''s hard to describe BUT trust me...it was off. Even my FI who''s not all that into the details, saw it. The owner did too once I pointed it out. AND when I had them measure the thickness of the platinum in my ering band and my wedding band BOTH were off....it was thicker in some areas than in others. GRRR!!

SOOOOO they have to send it back out....to CA and it''s going to take another 2 weeks AT LEAST!!

On the upshot the owner was very accommodating and promised that he won''t call me in again until he knows it is perfect. He could tell how crushed I was....

The upshot to all this is that it looked beautiful and very blingy....

I need a drink clearly....this is going to be rough...I was so excited today I could barely STAND it at work....I don''t know how I''m going to take it another 14-21 days. AHHHH!!!!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ILE!!! That totally SUCKS! I''m sorry for you, I know how irritating the waiting can be. I just had to keep telling myself that I''ll be wearing my ring for the rest of my life, and that once I have it, the wait will have seemed like nothing. You will have a lifetime to enjoy your beautiful ring. Try to focus on that

Update:

Dan Stair may have found me a stone to go in my LOGR setting - I''ve made a new thread and I could use some advice on how it looks!

AND I might have a setting update on the morganite but we''ll see!

Thanks for the support ladies!! you guys rock...LS I''ll take some gin/or captain and some chocolate ice cream please!! I went for a LOOONGGG run this morning to burn off some of the frustration. I just got off the phone with the jeweler and they agreed that we are going for a FULL redo. I told them that if they didn''t get it right this time, for ANY reason that I would expect a full refund. They promised to have it done right. So we''ll see. They did offer to add 2 more princess cuts to my ering channel, and 2 to my wedding band for the extra time it''s taken to get it right...so I thought that was nice..

So....here I go on another wait fest. I''m supposed to hear Tuesday as to the actual timeline.

BEG- can''t wait to hear more about your work in progress. let us know when you hear back!!

If I were you I may have done that by now. It does at least sound like they''re being nice about it, but if they did such shoddy work the first time, who knows if they''re even capable of doing it right? Sorry to be negative, but it sounds like from your previous posts that they already knew you were going to be particular about it. I guess I''d probably stick it out this one more time, but at least getting an estimate wouldn''t hurt anything. Luckily I haven''t gone through anything this bad, but I too have learned I can''t trust many local jewelers!

LTP---- I''ve been meaning to ask you....
Does your garnet look brownish at all to you in any lighting? John said ours were the same color. I see a little brownish tint to mine sometimes. It doesn''t really bother me, and I still like it a LOT. But I was wondering just because the description didn''t say anything about brown. It said red with a little orange in some lighting. I''m just starting to learn about colored stones and I was wondering if that''s what I''m supposed to see, or if the lighting in my house is weird, or if the oval cut makes it look different than the cushion. Whatever the reason, it''s still pretty and I like it just fine. I''m just curious. Thanks!

It sounds like you were blessed with a jeweler that wants to make it right though, which should make all the difference in the world. It will be back soon - and hopefully everything your heart desires!

Hi girls--

Well I placed a call to WF yesterday to get a quote on what it might cost for them to do it for me. I guess I just want to have a backup plan in case anything goes wrong. I''m still holding out hope that it will come back the way I have hoped. The owner was very apologetic and promised that they will do everything they can to make it right. Since it''s only going to be a few more weeks, I''d like to hope that they can get it done. Call me optimistic I suppose.

In the meantime...THANKS for the gin Dani!

WF sent me back the old head from my ring, since they put a new one on it. It''s white gold and fairly large, but I was thinking about maybe re-using it since it was on my "original" e-ring. I know I can find a stone to put in it, but is it possible to just buy the shank of a ring and use the head of this one? No big deal if I can''t, but I figured it would be cool if I could. I wouldn''t know where to find just a band without prongs, or maybe I''d have to ask a jeweler. Any input?

A jeweler can probably order a shank to use with your old head, but I''m not sure how that would work or if they''d be willing to.

Thanks for the fingers crossed Ladies!! I got a quote from Katie @ WF...but it is way above our budget for what I''m getting with the other jeweler. I know I know, you get what you pay for. But they were giving me a family discount. They are all GIA cert diamonds that I had picked out, and in a pretty high quality too. So my tastes are expensive and I know that. If it doesn''t come out this time....I don''t know what I''m going to do. FI and I had to save for SO LONG and we were hoping to be engaged by now. As much as I would love to do WF - it''s simply not in the budget. (I''m already working extra hours to pay for it). I just might cry if they mess it up.
