"RINGS IN WAITING" thread: help us cope...please!

My anniversary band came today! I got a confirmation from WF last night, and made it a priority this morning to drive (forever) to pick it up!

I absolutely love, love, LOVE it. The melee are SO sparkly. I had it on in the car on the way home, but took it off at a stoplight because the sparkle was distracting and I thought I might crash!

Unfortunately, while we did have some sunbeams in Oregon this morning, things have turned cloudy again, so I can''t take any really great pictures. This one I took with the cloudy light, so the color of the sapphs are off a bit (they''re more periwinkle).

Specs:

.13 ctw diamonds
.17 ctw periwinkle sapphires
2mm palladium bead set band

Dani- What a great motivational tool!! I''d lose weight for diamonds for sure!! I have about 5lbs to lose before my sis''s wedding in three weeks. Wonder if I could convince the FI to get me a pair of sapphire earrings I have been coveting.....Hmmm.

(That and I am just DYING to look awesome in my dress with my NEW RING!) god willling it will be here and perfect in time(a little less than 2 weeks now!! ~Oct 24th!!~)....after all the drama I just can''t wait to see my fam''s reaction. (Petty, I know...but true!)

Geckodani, too funny! Your hubby is a smart man - and I''m sure you''ll hit that goal in no time (and we''ll see awesome pictures of the bezel band!). Besides it''s getting too cold for ice cream right? (At least, it is where my parents live - it was 20 degrees and snowing yesterday!!!)

It''s never too cold for ice cream, LOL! But it is getting cold. I''ve got about 30 pounds to lose, and that''s being conservative. But it''s nice to have some motivation, that''s for sure!

Ok, so I know I said that my JW being cut right now is my last gem purchase for a long while...but I just ran across a very pretty .33 ct blue diamond on ebay (color enhanced) that I''m really tempted by - it''s just such a pretty blue!

But I''ve never bought a stone on ebay before - they offer a 30-day return policy, allowing you to get it checked out though....

what do you think?? I''m tempted to get it and put it into an LOGR setting (see next post)

Oh BEG. It''s a long saga. Short story: Had my stone reset into a custom setting that had so many problems I had to return it. I then spent what feels like a million years looking for a new setting, finally picked one, and have been waiting for almost a month to get it back. *sigh* My ring''s been off my hand since August.

Cold is no fun. But your asscher is going to be GORGEOUS and so is your garnet when it''s set!

Well, my house has never been cleaner than in the past month. My closets are organized, LOL. Just try to find something else to do. Start selling off old stuff on ebay. (I''ve been selling old books and making a little money). Just hang in there - the end will come!

Well, anticipation has been slightly quelled today cos I''ve had a delivery!!! Woohoo (runs round house at great speed)!

I''ll post up a new thread in SMTR but in the meantime, this is what I''m waiting for .......... and before you all go "WHAT?" can I just add that this is my last batch of gem candy for a while and some of it has been in the wings waiting for AGES!

1. Yellow diamond wobble ring (will be in SMTR in a minute)!
2. 1.01ct pear diamond, I, SI1, strong fluor being set in a pave halo. Posted pics of the diamond sometime ago now waiting for the ring.
3. Diamond trilogy with old european cuts to replace a lost inherited ring.
4. Resetting my .50ct red/pink enhanced diamond with a diamond baguette/rb halo
5. Resetting my 1.00ct yellow emerald cut diamond with 3 x stepped white baguettes to each side
6. Waiting for my LOGR setting for the Umbalite Garnet from Gemrite
7. Waiting for my LOGR (double halo) setting for an oval Emerald.
8. Trying to decide what to do with a round brilliant cut Rhodolite Garnet from GemRite
9. Trying to find a 1.5ct - 2.ct H&A ideal cut round brilliant (my last big purchase for about 1,000 years)
10. In the process of designing a multi coloured diamond cocktail ring which will hopefully be made when the above is finished if I haven''t run out of money or the bank manager has grounded me whichever comes first!

I also have a piece of yellow diamond rough that is exceptionally pretty but can''t decide what to do with it and a natural pink 4mm princess cut diamond that I also don''t know how to set!

So, lots and lots of projects, lots and lots of stress and things aren''t happening fast enough lol!

Now do you see why I need chocolate?

In all honesty it sounds like a very expensive list but the insurance claim is paying for the majority of it otherwise it''d be a much shorter list of 2 items!!!!

Gotta love that! I had a claim that paid off a student loan and our honeymoon. That was nice.
