Royal Jewels

Here is a close up of the brooch shown in the above post. I''ve seen QEQM wearing it in her young years pinned in her hat. Queen Victoria had a similar jewel.

Except of Queen Mother''s jewels, Camilla has worn several that belonged to Queen Alexandra. The jewels are - A PoW feather brooch with emerald pendant (very similar to Diana''s), a pair of emerald earrings and a bangle. Check this for more information and photos.

And a picture from the same occasion showing Queen Alexandra''s earrings and bangle.

When I cheked the link from the first post with the emeralds, I realized that I've forgotten to add the link. I'm really sorry. Click here for pics and information.

She wore a similar (if not the same) bracelet in Ascot on 16 June.

Here is the last for today, and my favourite pictrure of Camilla in full regalia. This is the first time she's worn these jewels together. The five row diamond necklace and tiara, among other jewels, was left to QUQM by Margaret Greville in 1942. The earrings can be seen in the First Wedding Anniversary post.

Here are some Garter photos. The Queen wearing the Dubai sapphire earrings on 15 June for Order of the Garter ceremony at Windsor Castle. I think HM wears different sets of earrings every year.

And here is The Princess Royal with Prince Richard, Duke of Gloucester on the same event. Her royal highness wears new eye catching sapphire, diamond and ruby earrings. The other earring has round ruby stud and a sapphire pendant.

P.S. Camilla has also worn the leek brooch. If anyone has a picture, please post it.

This is the official photograph from HRH Camilla, DoC''s 60th BD in 2007. For the occasion HM loaned her The Queen Mother''s Coronation Necklace. HRH wore it again (with the Honeycomb tiara and same dress) when Nicolas Sarkozy made his first state visit to UK.
Does enyboby know anything about the bracelet? Looks like Art Deco to me.
The bracelet looks art deco to me.Havent seen this bracelet before. While on the topic of Camilla''s bracelets...Who do you believe designed the multi-color gem and yellow gold bracelet she wears alot on her left wrist.I believe it to be Bulgari from the late 1980s early 90s.Any guesses?

Hi, jewelerman!

Are you talking about the chain bracelet, worn in Ascot on 16 June?

Yesterday I was thnking that Camilla hasn't worn any serious emerald jewels. Today when I visited Getty Images, I saw Camilla with a gorgeous emeard demi-parure. I've read that Mrs Greville left QEQM an emerald necklace. I've seen a picture, but didn't save it and I can't remember how the jewel looks like. May this one be the one left from Mrs Greville?

Here you can see the bracelet.

I think that The Duchess of Cornwall looks magnifiscent with the white jacket and emeralds. The contrast between the colours shows the emeralds in their full glitter.

I believe that this was the Greville necklace you were referring to, Bobby. The other famous Greville necklace is the magnificent 5-row diamond necklace Camilla is wearing on the 13th post on this page.

Isn''t the emerald necklace stunning?

And just for good measure, here''s two more!

The first is of the queen in her younger days, just to give an idea of how large it is.

And I couldn''t resist this one...here''s a picture of Queen Elizabeth with Jacques Chirac, and we get to catch a bit of the sparkle

Hi, Everybody!

I chacked the list of gifts recived by TRH The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, when they visited Saudi Aarabia in March 2006. There are three necklaces(parures) given to The Duchess of Cornwall - a ruby, a sapphire and an emerald necklace. So far we''ve seen the ruby and the sapphire ones, so it''s possible that the one worn yesterday is the gift from the Royal Family of Saudi Arabia.

Hi, shadowed rain!

The necklace that you posted isn''t the Greville inheritance. It''s another "G" - The Godman necklace. It was presented to HM by the Godman sisters. They "inherited the necklace from their father Frederick Du Cann, a British naturalist, who purchased the necklace whilst on a holiday in Bavaria in the 1890s". The necklace was belived to have belonged to Empress Josephine of France, but later it became cler that this can''t be true, due to the lack of Neo-Classical elements.

In the first (b&w) picture you can see HM wearing emerald earrings, that once belonged to Queen Victoria. These earrings were worn as pendants of the bow brooches at Eduard VII and Queen Alexandra''s coronaion.

Here are some jewels from Ascot''s secomd and tird days.

First is HM Elizabet II with the Cullinan V diamond brooch. Just imagine walking around with such a priceless jewel.

Here is The DoC with the pearl and topaz choker on the second day of Royal Ascot. I don''t know about you, but to me The Queen looks better with her three row necklace.
The picture shows the bracelet, mantioned by jewelerman. Looks like there is a turquoise and sapphire.

You''re absolutely correct. I''m going to claim late night disorientation

Thanks for pointing out my error, Bobby. But nonetheless, the Godman necklace is stunning...thank goodness the queen decided to accept the gift from the sisters rather than reject it on Prince Philip''s advice!

And speaking of Empresses and also since I seem to be on an emeralds tangent, here''s Empress Marie-Louise''s famous necklace.

The Godman neckclece is indeed a stunning and big one. Thank goodness the Queen accepted the jewels, but thanks the sisters for offering it.

The Empress' necklace on the other hand is another example of fine emerald jewellery, but is not my cup of tea. I don't think jewels from that era are my cup of tea at all. From the French collection I like the sapphres most of all their jewels.

I love this picture.. I''ve not been a Camilla fan because of my fondness for Diana, but in each photo I see of Charles & Camilla, she always gazes to him lovingly.. its so wonderful to see.

Hi, SDL!

I know we''re all fond of Diana and I hope my post isn''t offensive, but wasn''t Diana the one that interfered in Charles and Camilla''s relations? I mean that the PoW and Camilla were dating, he was probably going to propose her and then Prince Charles was sent on military mission, I belive. When he rettrned Camilla was married to his sister''s ex-boyfriend and a new suitable lady was in search for the heir.

Hi Bobby!

I don''t believe that Camilla was suitable for marriage to Prince Charles because she wasn''t a virgin. Diana had to be "certified" a virgin before she could marry him and produce his heirs. Charles truly loved Camilla, but he knew he couldn''t marry her and she could never be his Queen....at least back then. He married Diana out of duty. Think of the life they must have had together.

Hi, Bobby, I''ve taken an open-minded position toward Camilla, as I hope you can appreciate. However, as you have written this, I feel that I should comment.

Diana in no way interfered with Charles and Camilla''s relationship. From this perspective, it was not a "love triangle," as you suggest, in which Diana interfered. Diana received a wedding proposal and accepted it. That''s all. The usual connection that is cited is that Diana''s grandmother was the Queen Mother''s lady-in-waiting.

Families have their problems and this one is no exception, and I think I''ll leave it at that. Thanks, again! I''m enjoying your posts and hope to make some more myself soon.

Hi, Lori and Danny!

First I want to apologize for my late reply, but I wasn''t in Sofia for awhile.
Second - I know that Camilla wasn''t suitable, because she wasn''t a virgin. One would think that Prince Philip is a real moralist when he insisted that. I wonder if Sarah, Duchess of York had to be certified virgin, before she could marry Prince Eduard? Or maybe it was a condition for the heir''s wife only?
However, as I''ve said before the thing that I like most about them is that the love beteen Prince Charles and Camilla never died and in 2005 they fianly achieved what they wanted.
BTW an interesting fact is that both, Princess Diana and Camilla, are descendants of Charles II.

And now the royals and their jewels!
Here is Queen Elizabrt II at the prize giving ceremony for the Golden Jubilee Stakes on Royal Ascot''s last day. The brooch she wore was in possession of her late mother. It looks like diamond grapes hanging from a sapphire bow. The company that produced it must be VCA due to the mystery setting of the sapphires. Anyone knows who gave it to QEQM, or was it a jewel that she bought herself? It''s nice to see that not only Camilla wears Queen Elizabet''s gorgeous brooches.

Here is a more clear photo showing the brooch and the charming Queen.

Hi Bobby!

What an awesome brooch! Love the Queen''s hat, too....the butterflies are amazing!

Lori

Wow, Bobby, thanks! I particularly adore the one where HM is wearing butterflies! This was my late grandmother's favorite motif, and my grandmother loved jewelry. Great pictures! Keep up the good work!
