Royal Jewels

Isn''t it sweet how Letizia and Felipe are always giving each other such loving looks?

Letizia wore her favorite dress and her emerald earrings and necklace.

I love the flower themed tiara!

I think this is a pretty shot of the tiara & Letizia.

Thanks Beacon! I''m amazed at how fast this thread has grown - 27 pages and I only joined PS less than 2 months ago!

Yay! Found one. The King William IV Brooch.

27 pages and going strong! Can we ask PS admin to make this a sticky thread? It''s always near the top anyway, but it would be so nice to just access it right away without having to look for it. I can''t imagine any of us losing interest in seeing the beautiful/historic bling!

The Queens jewels was a christman book to me in the late 1980s and it started my interest in royal jewels and collecting books on the subject.Any other favorite books that the forum can suggest i read?

I love the necklace that Camilla wore that she borrowed, that one is stunning. And I think she and Charles make a nicely matched couple physically. But the multiple strand thing is TOOOOO saggy and heavy and looks insane on her. TOO much going on, earrings, tiara, HUGE necklace, etc, YIKES.

And the one with the pink and orange dress, I think at Versailles? Her teeth are horrendous and really detract from any overall classic beauty or style. They are dingy and yellow and horselike.

I think that''s a good idea. How would I contact the admin?

There is one called Tiara''s which is well respected. The Field book actually has several inaccuracies in it. So if anyone wants that book they should get the updated version which has most of them corrected.

There's a "Message Administration" button (actually it says, "Msg Admin") in the upper right hand corner of every page. It has a red question mark on it. Click on that and a page comes up that allows you to reach Andrey directly. He will e-mail you back (promptly!).

In semi-royal semi-news....Kate Middleton (girlfriend of Prince William) showed up last night wearing a diamond ring (on her middle finger) that caused the tabloids to go into a frenzy of speculation.

I''m 100% positive that the ring is not an engagement ring. But it''s good gossip anyway I suppose.

Close up of the ring.

I doubt it is an e-ring. At least I hope not because it''s too fudgly.

Wow, that is one beautiful ring.

Queen Sofia of Spain in New York this week for the Queen Sofia Spanish Awards.

The necklace is supposedly Van Clef & Arpels.

Crown Princess Maxima at an event yesterday - I think it was a fashion show.

maxima12-2007.jpg

The earrings look like citrines & smokey topaz. Typical Maxima ''tutti fruitti'' style!

I love the funky necklace too!

I would be very surprised if Kate Middleton is wearing an engagement ring, also if there will be a royal engagement in the near future. Things can change and from what I understand, their relationship has quite a few ups and downs....

Maxima at a gala earlier this week. Can''t really tell what these earrings are - but they''re interesting.

Another shot of Maxima at the gala - which I could see the bracelet better!

Arrrrggh! And what is that mystery ring on her right hand? I wish I could see it - looks like a nice rock!

I just tripped over a photo of Princess Grace's diamond engagement ring.

No specs except for 10.47 carat weight. It is on p20 of the Nov/Dec issue of Lustre [jewelry] magazine along with her photo, a Kelly bag and a gown and 2 suits - oh, and an article too but I have not read it yet:

I remember reading that the future Princess Grace was showing this ring to admirers on the set of her last movie. It was said in the book I was reading that she described the ring as "sweet" meaning, I''m supposing that she thought it was romantic and her movie friends all thought it was funny that she called a ring of this size/importance "sweet."

Sweet or not, it''s certainly lovely just as she was.....

Lovely necklace but it looks like he''s looking down the front of her gown. I can''t stand that man..

LOL! I totally thought it looked a little like he was drooling on her too.
