Royal Jewels

I wonder if this would have been a bold choice then (up to 1840).

I passed within visiting distance of Rosenborg more than once, not knowing that it contains the greatest pile of table cut diamonds WWW; there ought to be a next time, I need to get this cut out of my head.

Wish I could go see them as often as I wish...wishful thinking! :lol-2:

I often think that the display and light settings in these places make it difficult to see the details.

so sad, Beatrix's youngest sister
Princess Christiana wanted bright colours at her funneral
Queen Max has the most amazing earings on

@Daisys and Diamonds, yes, they used many many sunflowers for her funneral.

I also enjoy Q. Max's sense of style. ;)2

@whitewave, I am not good at guessing sizes, especially on CS since they could be cut very deeply, but maybe some else could comment them for you?

I think you might get more responses from the CS forum...? JMHO since here doesn't get as much traffic as there.

@whitewave I'd guess the diamonds are up to 3 mm, so the sapphires could be 5 mm wide. Piercing little blues!

Sorry if this one is already posted— if so, I don’t think anyone would have a problem looking at these sapphires again.

No. I do not mind if it is a re-post. It is very easy on the eyes!

Meghan at the US Open today! It appears that she's wearing the Jennifer Meyer turquoise bar stud earrings. I'm not sure about the dainty necklace she's wearing, but appears to be gold.

Gorgeous necklace by Queen Maxima of the Netherlands!! It has matching earrings too! Tanzanite maybe? Sapphires? Perhaps even iolite?

@LadyMaria The white sapphire cabs made me smile, a rare choice... I'd say all the stones are sapphire, the shades of blue are not unexpected for me, overlapping iolite & zoisite territory but with only subtle dichroism, & the slight haze in the cabs is typical for colorless sapphire. The necklace is a short handbook of sapphire!

Thinking out loud
