gold jewlery gold well with jeans

probably one of the reasons Catherine doesnt wear jewlery casually
i find articles like this so frustrating

and VC&A is fine for PSers, but i want royals to be in bespoke one of a kind or inherited pieces

'She is truly a Queen!' Princess Anne is a vision in red jacket and rarely seen brooch

Princess Anne is one of the busiest members of the Royal Family and, despite being 72, often carries out multiple engagements a week. Earlier this week, the Princess Royal attended a ceremony held by City and Guilds, who offer qualifications to those wanting to pursue a technical occupation.

As City and Guilds’ president, Princess Anne presented 46 UK organisations with their Princess Royal Training Awards during a special ceremony at Banqueting House, London, on Tuesday, December 6. The awards recognised the organisations’ outstanding commitment to workplace training and development.

excuse the ugliness of this post
i thought i had fixed it :(2

getting back to aigrettes
do we think there might be some still in the BRF vaults ?
gathering dust having escaped dismanteling
because i could see Sophie rocking an aigrette at the corrination

I think there are a few gathering dust in a forgotten vault. I don't think everything has been dismantled.
Re. Sophie - I hope she'll wear a full tiara, it's a coronation after all. She can wear an aigrette at the next Royal Variety Performance ;)

Shall we have a guess at the tiaras that would be worn by the ladies at CRIII's coronation?

DK :))

I like this game.

Princess of Wales: I think she will stick with something she's worn before so as not to overshadow the Queen Consort. Probably the Lover's Knot.

Princess Royal: Hmmmmm.. Her Festoon and the Greek Key are not big enough. Certainly not her Aqua Pinecone. Queen Mary's Fringe? She wore it for her wedding and it is of the right scale for the Coronation.

Countess of Wessex (who should be the Duchess of Edinburgh by now IMHO): Five aqua tiara. This is the one she was loaned from The Queen. The Aqua is her own and her Wedding Tiara is just sad. I think it should be the Five Aqua as a nod to Her Late Majesty.

Princess Eguenie: Emerald Kokoshink.

Princess Beatrice: This one is tricky. Will the Duchess of York be there? That will determine who wears the York. Maybe the Fringe if the Princess Royal doesn't wear it.

Zara Phillips: Greek Key or possibly no tiara.

I'm not touching the Harry and Meghan question with a 30 meter pole.

My predictions...

Queen Consort - I hope she gets to wear one of the existing crowns modified to suit her
Princess Royal - Greek Key
Princess of Wales - Lover's Knot
Countess of Wessex - the 5-Aqua
Duchess of Gloucester - Honeysuckle
Duchess of Kent (if she turns up at all) - diamond and pearl fringe
Princess Michael of Kent - diamond fringe
Princess Alexandra - her Ogilvy tiara
? Lady Sarah Chatto

Not sure if the younger ones would wear a tiara.

What about the foreign ladies?

Can't wait, and I hope it will be a very formal and blingy occasion!

For me personally, this coronation is an once in a life time event, as I doubt if I would live long enough to see William being crowned king! I would love to see Catherine being crowned as the next Queen Consort for certain!

DK :))

I bet Lady Sarah Chatto would do the Snowdon floral. Pity the Poltimore was sold.

I doubt the Duchess of Kent will be there. She missed The Queen's funeral. That tells me her health problems are very serious.

I love guessing games, even if they turn into a mere wish list!

Camilla - bare-headed on the way to the Abbey, then Queen Elizabeth's Crown
The Princess of Wales - CLK, though I hope for Granny's tiara or Fringe
Princess Royal - her festoon parure
Princess Beatris - Fringe or York tiaras
Princess Eugenie - Emerald Kokoshnik or York tiara
Ctss of Wessex - tricky one! The aquamarine tiara is her largest, but her wedding tiara has so much history dating back to Queen Victoria. I'd bet on her wedding tiara, since I doubt coloured stones will be worn.
Dss of Gloucester - Honeysuckle tiara (worn at the previous coronations)
Dss of Kent won't attend. Probably Lady St. Andrews might be the +1 and wear the diamond and pearl fringe.
Princess Alexandra - her floral tiara
Princess Michael - the fringe. It has a history of being worn at coronations

Zara - wedding meander tiara
Lady Sarah - her wedding floral tiara
Laura Lopes - her mother's floral tiara

Foreign royals:
Mary of Denmark - the pearl parure. It has always been worn by whoever represented the family at the British coronation.
Victoria of Sweden - the Braganza has been worn at coronations before, but maybe the Baden fringe
Mette-Marit of Norway - please bring the emerald parure for its 3rd coronation in a row
Amalia of the Netherlands - the antique pearl tiara or possibly the emeralds. Her uncle and aunt might attend as well, in which case we might see the wreath tiara.
Spain - not sure who will attend, maybe Infanta Elena? Then it will be the Marichelar tiara.
Belgium - Possibly Princess Astrid will tag along with the Savoy-Aosta tiara. Elisabeth will wear her own tiara.
Monaco - the pearl drop tiara on Princess Caroline.
Sophie of Liechtenstein - fringe tiara (and I hope the beautiful sapphires!)

Marie-Chantal of Greece - Queen Sophia's large diamond tiara or the ruby parure as an exclusive loan.

Maybe countries like Jordan will also have an official representation. I guess Hussein might even be married by then! The Crown Princess of Brunei has a lovely scroll tiara. The Crown Princess of Japan will wear her parure.

That said, whoever attends, I hope they'll keep the white tie and tiaras dress code at least for the home and foreign royals. I don't need to see Prinsjesdag moved to Westminster Abbey

its going to be excitting to see all those young European heirs

the crown princess of Tonga, Sinaitakala Tukuʻaho ( wife of Siaosi (George) Manumataongo ʻAlaivahamamaʻo ʻAhoʻeitu Konstantin Tukuʻaho)

oh @prince.of.preslav im too greedy for Cam to be bare headed on the way to the abby

i was just thinking this is the first corrination in well over 100 years that the new soverign will not have a living parent much less a parent at the actual corrionation

I wish I have a strand of blue Tahitians in that size!!!

Countess of Wessex (who should be the Duchess of Edinburgh by now IMHO)

I think I saw an article somewhere that said that Charles has decided to bestow the title of Duchess of Edinburgh on Charlotte in the near future, rather than Duke & Duchess of Edinburgh on Edward and Sophie.

i think like so much else concerning the royals that is hopefully just tabloid speculation
how can that even work as Charlote is a girl ?
and what about the Princess royal title ?

ive also read speculation that with a slimmed down monachy Charles doesnt want to bestow the titile because then James would inherit it
but honestly would one lone cousin of a royal Duke by the time that might actually happen really matter ?
who is going to help Prince William and Kate when its their time ?
Prince Louis will be a teenager and the older two might be at university or in the military ?

I really hope Charles is just waiting a bit
like for Christmas/new year or even the crorination

anyway whatever. but lend sophie a bigger tiara ?

I’m sitting here in the hotel lobby of The Langham in Sydney, looking at the most amazing book. If you ever get the chance to look at it, do, it’s full of the most fabulous photos, lots of royalty wearing their Cartier pieces. 6A71B497-0BF9-4E82-9F89-79C996964DE3.jpeg

thats almost worth waiting at an airport over !
enjoy

will the Middletons be invited to the corrination ?
or will they have to wait till its their turn as only 2000 guests

IMHO, and I could be wrong, a coronation is more ceremonial than a funeral. Therefore, priority would be given to foreign dignitaries rather than on a more personal level.

DK :))

@Daisys and Diamonds the Princess Royal title is for life, so it is not free to go to Charlotte until after Princess Anne's death.

It was this reason why Anne was not the Princess Royal until she was nearly 40 until Princess Mary, Countess of Harewood died.

I reckon Anne will live until her 90s at least!

I keep forgetting that Louise is 18 and thus of tiara-wearing-age! I'd guess her mother's aquamarine tiara is what she might wear.

Yes, I bet Tonga will be represented. I only mentioned those royal houses whose jewels I'm familiar with, though you might be right that they'll wear traditional clothes.

Queen Sālote attended the 1953 coronation and everybody fell in love with this tall lady who rode in an open carriage despite the rain.
