this was the night to pull out all the stops

those beautiful pearls from Philip's funeral need a happy outing and this would have been perfect


give ALL the fake stuff (that didnt belong to Diana) to Charlotte to play with and while im at it start boxing up all the dept store stuff (Kikis etc) for Charlotte's 10th birthday

i wouldnt mind so much if she wore more of the good stuff from the vault
or developed a collection of vintage brooches (faux ok)

i used to like discovering how Diana mixed and matched faux with the priceless stuff but she also gave us pearls, and saphire pieces big enough to see from a distance on a regular basis, she might have only had two tiaras but still gave us variety from her jewlery box

a modern example would be CP Victoria, she has a lot of fun with faux but she also turns to plenty of the real stuff regularly

I think she stayed with faux because of the neckline of the gown. Real jewels would have clashed, instead she accentuated it by choosing coordinating faux pieces which looked wonderful, IMO.

I believe the DOW doesn't wear a lot of bling to be more approachable so people see her as more like them all the while being royal and gracious. She's a modern royal and wears the bling when it's appropriate.

yes i agree
except her shoes and coats cost a small fortune
but its certanly not helped when the daily rags publish articles with the $$$$$ of everything she wears
i just think while she is still young if she wore more jewlery she could help get rid of this awful minimlist thing that is having way too long a moment IMHO regarding jewlery

but no brooch :x2
i see 4 brooch options all missed by HM
traditional place on the coat, the scarf, the hat and the bag
at least we have earrings on

Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie attended the Anti Slavery Collective's Winter Gala at Battersea Arts Centre last Wednesday.
Both Princesses wore interesting earrings for the event - Princess Beatrice, who doesn't have pierced ears, wore classic sapphire and diamond clusters, while Princess Eugenie wore a pair from Gerrard's Albemarle collection. HRH wore a necklace and earrings from the collection at the Coronation in May.
