Royal Jewels

French State Visit update - the banquet at Stockholm Royal Palace

The Queen wore the magnificent cameo parure dating back to Duchess Augusta of Leuchtenberg

I think Macron was secretly staring at the cameo depicting Napoleon :D

The Crown Princess also delved into the family's collection of Napoleonic jewels and wore the cut steel tiara with a pair of diamond floral earrings and an antique opal brooch (possible also from the Napoleonic period)1706699467981.png

Princess Sofia wore pearls and diamonds, combining personal and family jewels. No surprises there, I just wish her gown was another colour.

The lovely Princes Christina was also there and having a good time in the aquamarine kokoshnik, which was a favourite of her mother, and diamond jewels.

Over in Spain, the King and Queen hosted a reception for the Corps Diplomatique. This year Queen Letizia wore one of her first royal jewels - a set of pearls, sapphires and diamonds, which was a present from King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia. The set supposedly comes from the Countess of Barcelona.

Queen Letizia has only worn the necklace once in public - at her very own pre-wedding 20 years ago.

it is the same necklace isnt it ?

Unfortunately, this isn't the first time Queen Letizia's jewels fall off at an official event. A couple of years ago her histric pearl brooch fell of her lapel during Pascua Militar, now the bracelet. Years ago one of the flowers in the floral tiara was missing, the base of LA Buena was broken...
The Bourbons have had quite a few jewellery malfunctions over the years :(

the usual VC&A bracelet but i just adore Queen Cam

What's the issue exactly? As far as we know, the jewels are owned by The Prince and lent to his female relatives for certain occasions.
Why his wife hasn't worn them is a mystery, although I think there's a private agreement beween Albert and Caroline that she has temporary custody of the jewels (a sort of reward for being de facto first lady for many years).

yes, at least someone is wearing them, it would be like Princess Anne wearing some of the late Queen's jewlery
i think so long as all the pretty stuff eventually returns to the main line so it is not sold, we are quite happy for it to be lent out for an outting or two by the Prince of Monaco's sister/ sister of King Charles
off on a tangent but im sure Queen Cam would have no objection to Anne wearing some, but if we could just lend something to dear Sophie while we are talking about it

much love to Queen Cam with the reveal of the King's cancer diagnosis and of course prayers and some tears for His Majesty, wishing you a full recovery Sir

i saw this brooch i must have missed in this very nice article on dear Cam

finally found a pix of Queen Cam from church on sunday
no brooch - i could find a brooch for that hat
but i gotta let up on the brooches, the Queen has more important things to worry about that brooches

Charles the Third, By the Grace of God King of New Zealand and of His Other Realms and Territories, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith.

Get well soon your majesty

thinking only nice thoughts about the VC&A bracelet because life is stressful enough without thinking about what bracelet or brooch (sigh) to wear

this was leaving the hospital last week (i think), the Queen looks very nice

No photo, however, the Princess Royal was in my neighbourhood for a function earlier today while I was working. There was no advance notice so I missed it.

I would have gone there to support on foot had I known about in advance and free from work commitments.

Just saw that the Princess wore one of her mother's (purple) jackets today. So lovely and sorry that missed HRH
