As Patron of the National Literacy Trust, The Queen has visited Moreland Primary School to open their new Coronation Library, the 50th in a series of special primary school libraries that have been transformed over the last twelve months with the help of the National Literacy Trust, to mark the Coronation.
The Coronation Libraries initiative celebrates Her Majesty’s strong advocacy not only for reading and literacy, but also for the vital importance of primary school libraries. In collaboration with Libraries for Primaries, the National Literacy Trust have created 50 Coronation libraries and reading spaces across the UK since 2023 with the 50th library being opened by Her Majesty at Moreland Primary School.

Queen Mary has started exploring the Danish vault, it seems! For the welcoming ceremony in Oslo, she debuted a ruby and diamond floral brooch, which was previously worn by Queen Margrethe, for example during her Ruby Jubilee celebrations in 2012.




Her pearl pendant earrings (one with a ring of sapphires, the other with rubies) formerly belonged to Margrethe II and were presented to Mary at some point. They were featured in the exhibition En Dronnings Smykkeskrin in 2022.

It just occurred to me - today is Frederik and Mary's 20th (!) wedding anniversary! Maybe the white jacket is a reference to her wedding dress?
I wonder what she'll wear at the Banquet tonight... 20 years ago she debuted her diamond tiara, maybe today she'll debut another one, like the married pearl parure (pun intended) and her wedding earrings?

Maxima first wore the large necklace from the House Diamond parure with the simple diamond bandeau, When she first wore the House Diamond tiara it was without a necklace, too. But later she's worn them together to great effect.
