Crown Prince Haakon visit Norway's Home Front Museum

The pair met up outside the museum and spoke to the 100-year-old war veteran, Trond Ivar Johansen.

The museum is located on top of Akershus fortress, a medieval castle, built in the late 1290's by King Haakon V to protect Oslo.

The Princess listened to the veteran intently on the final outing marking her three-day visit to Norway.

She has spent the week undertaking engagements as patron of the Anglo-Norwegian Resistance Commemoration Project.

Princess Anne attended a Buckingham Palace garden party today (Image: Getty)
Princess Anne met members of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution.

The Duke of Kent (president of the RNLI for 55 years) was also in attendance and was pictured mingling with guests.
During today's garden party to celebrate the RNLI's 200th anniversary, the Princess Royal awarded a Silver Medal for Gallantry to Coxswain Patch Harvey, a hero lifeboatman who battled hurricane-like conditions to save the lives of eight people stranded on a French yacht in 2022.

Daisy, we are a huge F1 family here - it was so lovely to see a Monagesque driver, Charles LeClerc win. Prince Albert was almost crying when he presented Charles with his trophy. Prince Albert even joined in the champagne spraying with his own bottle. Even Princess Caroline’s sons were on the stage.

While I don't have the trophy I do have his Ferrari shirt! Some ladies get jewellery, as my DH loves F1, I get official clothing! (FWIW people stop me all the time and adore the Ferrari stuff I wear...., it's kind of funny)

@canuk-gal I as a 53yo woman, think that Charles is just a gorgeous young man. As an Aussie, I’m predisposed to cheering for Daniel, Oscar and our adopted son, Valterri but was so happy for Charles to get that victory.

not the greatest news source sorry

i read this article in Murry Walker's voice

back when formula one was on free to air tv (probably last century now) i used to watch a lot of formula one, back in the turbo days with Williams and McLaren - i was in love with Ayrton Senna but i always had a soft spot for Ferrari's Gerhard Berger

what i loved about Formula one was that i could make up my own mind who to support, there was no NZ national team

im not impressed by the trophy, it has to be one of the uglist sporting trophies ever, i would rather have something like the Stanly cup !

@Daisys and Diamonds Natalie is an F1 reporter on Sky / Foxtel. She seems lovely plus her husband and our Daniel Ricciardo are besties (DR is her son’s godfather). Not surprised Princess Bea is friends with her - Sarah has always been very immersed in F1, one of her major boyfriends before marrying Andrew was Paddy McNally who was part of F1 journalism / hospitality / management.
