Seaglow's Finds

Today I got some pairs and suites for side stones.

Pink tourmalines, purple garnets, zircons, rubies, pink sapphires, gray blue spinels, ametrines, and pink sapphires. I also got an included bi-color tourmaline that looks somehow like a pad. Taken under LED light and natural light.

Also saw 1+ carat Alexandrites. Nice green with color change of 80-95% to purple. Still thinking whether to buy one or not or a nice tsavorite.

Also got some green and gray blue Montana sapphires... though not sure what center stone color matches with gray blues...

I love all these stones @Seaglow.:love::love:Beautiful! I especially love the gray blue Montana sapphires.:kiss2: I think gray blue goes with many different colors. And diamonds go with all colors just saying...:sun:
Love your collection! What are your plans for some of these beauties?

I’m keeping them as side stones to see which ones blend with some stones I have meant to be center stones. I got quite a few because the small stones didn’t cost a lot and are affordable. I didn’t buy them in pairs. I picked and patiently matched them from parcels and lots so it was less than what I would have paid if i bought in pairs. :) Yes, the Montana’s color is quite unique. ;)2

Very smart indeed and I look forward to seeing this all develop. You have a wonderful eye for the beauty of these gems.

Got this at Hongkong...at Luk Fook. Small jadeites with a ruby melee as center in 18k rose gold.

I thought it was so cute. =)2

It came with a local lab report.

Those are adorable! Like little sprouts/buds/clovers! What a fabulous find.

Those earrings are GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!!! The RG looks beautiful with the jade!

I love those earrings! Does Luk Fook have other earrings like that? Just wondering how hard it would be fine something like that if I am every in Hong Kong. Are their prices set, or did you bargain?

I bargained! For smaller items like I got, you can get around 8-12% and more for items in thousands of hkd.

They might have in other branches with the same setting I assume but price may differ depending on the quality of the jade. The sales staff told me price is double if it was the color of my ring (imperial color), because the earrings’ color seem to be between apple and imperial with a very, very slight hint of grey (only seen by trained eye). The jadeites are small and glowy and set in open back so I think they are using the type mounting with other gemstones (I inquired for a ruby ring and was informed if I wanted the same setting with canary yellow diamond as center stone as they have a stock for it, thus my assumption).

Thanks, Seaglow. I wish I new more about jadeite so that I could be confident buying it. I just know your earrings look really pretty!

Thanks!

The thing about high-quality jadeite (good color and high transluscency and glowy), they can hold the color and looks glowy even at small sizes so you can’t start with that so you don’t feel like risking a lot. They are not bank breaking at small sizes like the earrings i got. Also, when you are in Hongkong, you can refer to this link from the HK government regarding the accredited jade laboratories as reference for the accompanying lab reports of jade pieces.

So here are a couple of gray diamonds (2.19 and 2.05 carats) and a silky untreated pink sapphire (1.19 carats) I got. For sure I will set one of the grays for a ring. Not sure which yet. I picked the most from a parcel of browns and yellows. Wearing my purple diamond ring to show the difference I need color of the grays from the accents stones. On the sapphire, I like these highly pleochroic, silky pinks, but not easy to find. These stone flashes hot pink and purple at the same time. :)

Are the grey diamonds fancy grey?

Love the fancy greys and that pink is THUDalicious. What a gorgeous color(s). Silky delicious.:kiss2:

So much eye candy! Your gems are lovely!

That sapphire is AMAZING.

and a very fabulous purple ring. I often look at small but mighty FCDs and wonder how I’d ever set them, but this has totally answered that question for me!

Got these water jades for dangling earrings.

From the jade factory they also are using old boulder stock. This one from the seller’s collection that she had kept for years and that she decided to sell. She has so much more on her collection for sure. :)

#want!cabs pls! Lol

Sure! It should be done by next week. I have a diamond hoop that I place with my sapphires so I’ll post both. Interchangeable danglers. :)

Cannot wait to see these beauties on your ears and thank you. Interchangeable danglers how versatile.:appl:

OMG @Seaglow those are just too cute!!!!

I love your varied style from that magnificent purple diamond to these adorable earrings!

Just stunning, Seaglow! The carving is so well done that there is such fluid movement within them. Beautiful enough to hurt!
