I'll give you some "unofficial" annual statistics for a GG in the jewelry world.







$18,000 - $25,000 starting as a jewelry saleperson for a chain




$25,000 - $30,000 as an appraiser/salesperson




$30,000 - $40,000 as an assistant manager





$40,000 - $60,000 as a chain store manager



$45,000 - $100,000 as an "on the road" salesperson



$45,000 - $125,000 as an accomplished self employed appraiser



$85,000 - $125,000 as a self employed jewelry store owner



$125,000 - $200,000 as a "high end" self employed jewelry store owner.



$125,000 to $200,000 as the director of a significant appraisal laboratory.



$200,000 - $1,000,000 as a gemstone dealer of fine goods.

Looks like I will have to either get used to the pay and enjoy myself with the beauties that come in and out of my sotre, or just work my tail off and become that upper 1% of Gemologists!

Jewelry store owners who run a good business do much better than that I think Rich, but they do thend to work their butt off and it requires loads of capitol - expect to work a second job for survival for the first 5 years - or buy out an existing business for a few million ------- but why not just become an Internet vendor - they make millions each month
