Regarding wearing your ring on honeymoon: I know you want to wear your rings on your honeymoon because of the glow of being newly married and all. But I would not recommend wearing the rings on the beach, in the ocean, or even in the pool. Such activity increases risk of loss. And sunscreen is the devil for jewelry (and nail polish for that matter). And if the trip is going to be mostly beachy times, then maybe leave the ring(s) at home. But I know that''s not really ideal...
Anyway, I wore my rings at the ocean on a trip once (because I didn''t trust leaving them at home, nor in the safe--because people tend to forget things in hotel safes), and they were ruined for the whole trip. Whatever was going on there (Hilton Head Island) with the water, sand, ocean salt, sunscreen, etc., my rings had this disgusting film on them that absolutely would not wash off. I tried soap and water with a brush, soaking, etc. Nothing worked, and I was so disappointed with the way my rings looked--no fire and sparkle because of that unremoveable film. It took several rounds in an ultrasonic machine at the jewelers to come clean. Sounds like a silly thing to be disappointed about, but I am obsessive about cleaning my jewelry.
Hope your re-make goes well and to your satisfaction.
