I googled "anxious for engagement advice" and found my sanity-savers - the wonderful Ladies-in-Waiting Anxious to get the E-ring club! So I tell my FH that it''s all his fault I''m obsessed with diamonds now!

I got my original e-ring diamond, a 1.07 RB before I knew about ideal parameters and such and took the vendors word that it was an ideal cut. I wanted to look for a chart or something on line that listed what table/depth% and things made for an ideal cut so I googled "diamond table/depth" or something like that and found ps. Then I found "show me the ring" folder and was just mesmerized by the beautiful rings!

Probably also why I upgraded to a bigger stone 5 months after getting my e-ring, too!

. I think everyone on PS is so nice and open and willing to give advice, about diamonds and life in general.

PS saved us JUST in the nick of time! Literally, the DAY BEFORE we went to look at a diamond I know we would have bought had I not found these forums, I happend to be googling cuts and diamonds and up popped Pricescope. I read for 5 hours straight (good thing it was a Friday night) and then rushed to tell the bf all I had learned. When we went to look at the diamond that had been brought in for us to look at the next day, we realized that we probably knew as much as the salesperson from my five hours of reading then however long she had worked in the industry (unless she just wasn''t letting on that she understood my cut class questions)!

Now I can hardly wait for my ring from Whiteflash and have not thought twice about our decision thanks to all the great info (and customer service from Bob) that we found here!

I found it looking for a celebrety ring ( I can''t remember who''s now), and stumbled upon this site.
I was amazed at all the lovely rings that were here, and the funny humor some of you have. I read the forum at least once a day for a very long time before I felt comfortable enough to make a post. I''m still uneasy at times I guess since I don''t "know" anyone really, but I still love reading all your post.
I am hooked because of all the diverse topics, all the new rings.. EVERYTHING

On my first day looking at rings with my boyfriend months ago, I tried on the Daniel K split crown ring with a cushion. Didn''t know what a cushion was before that, but it was the most beautiful thing I''d ever seen in my life, so I googled "pictures of cushion cut diamonds" and PS came up! I looked at a few pictures and read the tutorials, but it took me forever to realize that there are actual forums too! Then I lurked, then I finally joined! It''s so great even if my boyfriend does make fun of me a lot for it!!

i found it by accident too. i knew we were interested in a 2-3 carat diamond. so, i started out researching. i didn't know the shape or style i wanted. i would try to build-your-own-ring on sites but was upset that most didn't go up past 1 carat. how was i suppose to figure this out with no pictures?? so i did a google image seach for 2 carat diamond, then 2 carat cushion, then 2 carat asscher. well i found a pic of some diamond rings. i clicked on the picture to see it closer. it lead to this link:

and it lead me to PS!! whoo hoo!!!!!!! i am addicted now! and MUCH more informed!

It started quite a while ago, with me searching for diamond tutorials/information. First up was Rhino''s GOG site. TONS of information there. Well, I became a "perfect" cut addict and wanted more to fill up my obsession!

I do believe I was reading a testimonial on GOG''s site and it mentioned DT. Joined it and was a faithful lurker/sometime poster until it it got too over the top for me. After the massive round of bannings that occurred at the end of 2003 (I think), I noticed alot of former members of DT had come over to Pricescope. I joined up and after going between DT and PS for a couple of months, I decided I liked the atmosphere over here better. So here I am. Not much of a poster, but I check the forums a couple times a day!

I ended up getting a whole new ring. It was during that whole time of bannings etc. or just right after. I found a lot of references to that hated Pricescope site

and got curious. So I came to check all of ya''ll out and found a home. Hmmm, maybe a lesson there about downing a rival site. People do get curious.

All I can say is I''m glad they were so verbal about attacking the fine people and vendors and Leonid here. Otherwise, I might never have found you guys.

Please let me clarify one thing. Not everyone there was guilty of the above behaviour, and some of the people were really quite nice. It was the ones who were stirring the pot who led me here. Thanks for making me feel so welcome.

It was similar for me. I was not a member on DT, but read their topics a lot. I was curious what PS was and why they were always trashing it.. I got curious and now I love PS... ta da!

I don't even remember EXACTLY how I found it, but I was researching diamonds and eduation and rings. I found DT and did not like the forum format or the fact that you had to register with a CC to post. I think I may have been originally googling information and found DT and PS on the same search (aka diamond rings or something). So I checked out PS next...it was very small then...only a handful of regulars and the experts! Lots of newbies coming and going. Read and lurked for a while...and then asked some Q's. Now I'm an addict for all things sparkly, and have learned quite alot in my time here (3years!!) and my better half has to PRY me away from the laptop some nights as I pore over the new topics...I love wireless!!

PS has turned me into a multi-tasking queen...I can read topics and work; read topics and watch TV; read topics and cook; read topics etctecetc...

I just happened to stumble upon PS, too... while researching diamonds for my anniversary upgrade a couple of years ago. I remember wading through all these other practically useless sites... and when I found PS I was like, "WHOOOAAAA! THAT''S WHAT I''M LOOKING FOR!"
