Hi All,

My 30th birthday is next week! Not sure if I''m excited or sad...

How about sharing how you spent your 30th birthday? What did you do? Have a party? Celebrate with buying jewelry? Do anything wild and crazy?

I got a tattoo!

That''s really fun - hope it was not too painful. What kind of tattoo?

Happy Birthday!!!!! I don''t remember what I did but I have to say I LOVE MY 30''S....every year just gets better! When we are in our 30''s some of us realize how young and naive we were in our 20''s but the older you get...the wiser! I look back at my party days and say to myself....what the hell was I thinking?

I am 37 now and I feel that this year is better than the last....

ENJOY>>>>YOU WILL LOVE YOUR 30''s!

I didn''t do anything really. I went out to eat with my then FI and my kids made me cards and we cuddled on the couch and watched LOTR all day. It was a cool day and I realized that I did not feel any differently.

I can''t remember that long ago.

My 30th birthday, we spent in Las Vegas. It was a wonderful trip, except that DH forgot to get me a birthday card!! (He purchased a new car stereo for my b-day, which had already been installed, so I wasn''t upset about not getting a gift on my b-day...just that he forgot to get me a card!)...to make things worse, he quickly got a card from his "stash" at home, which was one of those free Salvation Army cards that they send you to get you to donate money to them!! He thought this would suffice....quickly he learned it wouldn''t...

As for the rest of my birthdays since...my 30s have been wonderful (I''ll be 37 next month!) and DH hasn''t forgotten to give me a card since! LOL

Mine was last year, last October as well! This year I''ll be 31.

Greg, the master of nonsurprise, actually pulled off a great surprise party planned with one of my best friends for 2 weeks BEFORE my bday, which is probably the only way he could have surprised me, I am eternally suspicious of people trying to pull a surprise party because I have planned a few in the past...hehee.

So I have fond memories of last year, and since I also got the bday 2 weeks ahead of time, I convinced everyone in our closest group to go out with us yet again to one of my fave restaurants the weekend after my birthday so I had multiple celebrations. And don''t forget the night out with Greg to my FAVE restaurant (going again this year) and also the night out with the parents...I am a big fan of WEEK LONG birthday celebrations at least.

As for ''turning 30''...it didn''t really affect me at all and maybe that''s because I am very happy with where I am at in my life (or was last year..and still am today etc)...I didn''t feel like there was anything that I didn''t achieve or do that I expected to by this age...and I also try not to push expectations about age onto myself or others. Most of my good friends are in their mid to late 30s, I am one of the youngest ones in the group, but they always say they are surprised when they remember. Guess I act older...but that is kind of my point. One of my good friends is 37, Greg''s age, but she acts nothing like it, more like late 20''s. She looks super young too. Also, people still CARD ME and are shocked when they see my DL so I guess I don''t look 30.

So the way I look at it is age is just a #! Take care of your skin and you''ll be eternally youthful? Hehee. I figure I''ll freak out at 40, isn''t that when it''s supposed to happen? We''ll see. I''d prefer not to freak out at all and just take it for what it is, another opportunity for a BIG PARTY!!!

Have fun!!

You took the words right out of my mouth!

My husband also took me to Aculpulco for a week, anniversary & 30th B-day combined, so I really couldn''t be too upset about having a "big" birthday.

Nies...I got a little abstract sun like tatoo that I designed.

I''m 36 now, so I have a little time before the next "bigger" one!

Went out for dinner and I bought myself a really nice ruby and diamond 3 stone ring. Every 5 years I buy myself a major gift -usually a ring -but one year it was a house (bought jointly of course).

I love all these stories! Keep em up!

I can''t remeber that far back either. But for my 40th my hubby gave me a surprise party with all my friends and it was a blast. Dinner and dancing, too much fun!!! Happy birthday Jelly!!!

I just turned 31 on the 13th.. I can say that I love being in my 30''s. I was a newlywed last year so I was still on cloud 9 and this year, my dh had added a couple of diamonds to my ann. ring for my birthday, yet it is still at the jewelers.

Happy Birthday, Jelly! Hope you have a wonderful b-day.

I turned 30 just under three years ago and cannot remember what we did, as I had a newborn AND a toddler and my memory of that time period is a bit blurred. The only part I do recall is my husband giving me a pair of diamond earrings. Now that I think about it, the diamonds were the only good part. I could give or take the age 30 part.

Happy birthday! I turned 30 just a week before my wedding so, luckily, was too busy for a big celebration. My almost husband took me out to dinner and we had a great meal to celebrate our last premarital birthday.

My birthday is Sept. 11. One of my good friends shares the same birthday but she is one year older. The year I turned 30 and she turned 31, our husbands gave us both a tandem skydiving package as our gift! Nothing like hurtling towards the ground at 140mph from 13,500 feet with some strange dude strapped to your back to make you appreciate life! They paid extra to have the whole thing taped via helmet cam from another skydiving instructor. There was a surprise party waiting for us both when we got done and all the guests enjoyed the video of our terror! Lots of fun, but I don't feel the need to ever do it again!

Hope you have a great birthday.

As for my 30th (4 years ago), I can''t remember what I did because it was just like any other birthday. I don''t need a big fuss made over any birthdays and for me, especially over the decade birthdays because to me they are no big deal. Although I do make a huge fuss for friends'' birthdays and children because their birthdays are important to them.

Whatever you do for your birthday, I hope it''s filled with lots of love and laughter.

Now that''s just cruel!!! Four years ago I turned 50!

Deb :-)

I turn 30 in June and am so very excited about it! No plans yet, but i am thinking about a little getaway with the girlfriends (maybe a spa in Arizona or Mexico?).

Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes. My b''day isn''t until Friday, but I was hoping to make it memorable somehow.

Now you got me thinking about my 30th, coming up in January!

Am trying to convince my boyfriend that he needs to give me some serious jewelry for my 30th (even though I''m getting my engagement ring in a few weeks).

Maybe instead of getting a tattoo, I''ll have mine lasered off....

I am looking forward to hearing how you celebrate! Congratulations on hitting a milestone

Awww....I''m just kidding, you know that!!

Honestly, I am a little aprehensive about getting into my 30''s, but I know they key is to always feel young at heart! I know it was only a year ago, but 25 was my best year yet - it was the year I really got to know who I am as a woman and really started to feel comfortable in my skin and with my life and that sort of thing. So if it keeps getting better, as many say it does, then I think I have alot to look forward to!

My 30th birthday is coming up in 8 days, but who''s counting?

Whenever I start to get depressed about turning the big 3-0...I just remember that a woman''s sexual peak begins at age 30...
woo hoo!

I had a ''Second Annual 29th Birthday'' Party. It was a complete blast. I had dinner with my favorite people before hand, and then went to a club. I realized how old I had become when I couldn''t stay there for that long because it was just way too loud! We had a blast dancing with everyone, and some friends managed to surprise me by showing up when they said they couldn''t make it.

About being 30 itself, I''m still numb. It honestly doesn''t feel any different from being 29, except for the mild urgency about getting married.

My 30th was uneventful because I planned it that way.

I was totally depressed about 30 (and I was at 25 too, go figure?) so we closed on our house the day before my 30th birthday and moved the day after, so I spend my birthday packing boxes and making sure everything was done. I was so busy I didn''t have time to think about it! I told everyone no cakes, or party or anything special. My family thought I was weird.
2.gif

I will say, a couple of days after we moved I found out I was pregnant. So I guess you can say that was my birthday present. Then I felt really old!
