Man, this shoe thing is KILLIN me. I have to have to have to order ASAP or risk going barefoot down the grassy aisle at the ol'' Barn Wedding now LESS than a month away.

HELP!!!

Some of you might recall that I''m planning to wear a (not in yet) white thick, open weave lace strapless tea length gown with frothy tulle sticking out of the bottom ... topped with a cropped shrug/cardigan/bolero/mini denim jacket ... depending on which looks best.

I have to walk through grass A LONG WAY for pre-wedding pictures & down the aisle so I''m worried about kitten heels.

I can''t wear over 2 3/4 inch heels of any kind. (And I''m almost as tall as the groom as is)

My IDEAL SHOE would be white slightly pearlized leather D''orsay pumps with a wide heel or wedge approx 2- 2 1/2 inches tall available immediately in a SIZE 11 (or 10.5 in a pinch)

I''d love leather or a CLEANABLE material so I could wear them again. Light SILVER or PEWTER or PINK or VERY LIGHT TAN are leg-blendable options as well. Typical white bridal satin won''t stay clean through the photos - much less the ceremony & reception.

Also .. I have kinda chubby legs/ankles, so pointy toes help "extend the look of the leg" where square toes make me look like FAT GRANDMA.

AIIGHH.

I''ll show you some stuff I''ve found but nothing is jumping out at me & saying BUY ME.

This one is my favorite look wise ... but it''s too expensive ($353) also ... the kitten heel would really get stuck in the grass ..

This one might blend in with my leg, but still be kinda retro .. kinda cute ... looks VERY comfie .. but the pink suede is gonna get KILLED by all the green (probably freshly cut) grass.

Also pretty cheap ($60 ish??)

Kinda like #1 ... but same problems (except for price ... $87) ... Afraid the strap will cut into my chub too ... groan.

This shoe is MEGA popular over at Indiebride. I think Mercodili has recommended it to me here too ...

Only this light blue is avail in size 11 right now ... but I could get it in white or "goldie" leather in a 10.5 for ... get this ... $29.99.

Looks comfie, but kinda not what I''d envisioned ... kinda busy for a lace dress ... I dunno. Maybe should order as a back up.

Maybe this suggestion is way off (and if it is, just ignore me), but when I pictured your dress in my head, I saw a cute leather granny boot.

Ooooh, I vote for shoe 5 in gold!! Soooo cute! Blue would be pretty too, but I''m such a sucker for gold shoes with wedding dresses!

My suggestion for slimming the legs, *no ankle straps*, or anything that breaks the line of your leg. So slingbacks, or d'orsay pumps, peep toe pumps would be great and retro, and or regular pumps.

These Nina's are cute - Winola

These Caparros Mayflower are really cute and retro

These are so pretty!

What about these?

ETA: Nevermind, apparently they're velvet? They don't look like it, though.

Hmmm... like this? It''s Peter Fox & super expensive ($610) but I did see some Fluevog granny boots in my travels. Maybe I''ll check Zappos again.

Or were you thinking light brown suede or black leather?? I *had* wondered about this idea ... so I''m intriqued you thought of it too ....

I think this is the Fluevog white "wedding boot" that had me wondering before ... but I remember now that I ruled this one out because these are special order & not avail before November due to factories being on vacation over the summer. Oh well.

.. especially the one I almost ordered as a safety just minutes ago (Pink Suede Mary Janes) ... they just look so COMFY! I believe her quote was "Hate...you''re almost 40 and you will be wearing this beautiful dress and then your shoes look like teeny bopper shoes that you are supposed to wear with jeans or a casual hoochie dress not a lovely white dress. With the black rubbery looking soles you might as well be wearing a denim mini skirt. Why buy the lace dress at all?"

She''s right Deco, I was afraid to say it. Those pink shoes would totally distract from the dress. You''ve got to find something that will blend/work with everything.

Don''t worry, you''ll find something. Keep an open mind, order a couple different options and see what works. I know how hard it is to find an 11, my lil'' sis is an 11.5 - it''s tough.

Amber, the shoes at Blue Tux are so cute!!! Thanks for sharing.

Deco - What about pointy silver flats? That would look really cute with the tea length dress. - Link

I agree with Scint ... those are to die for! I LOVE the look ... I''m just afraid of the 3" heel.

Thanks Amber!

**** UPDATE !!! ******

I have ORDERED THESE SHOES!!! My "SDF" said, and I quote "fine"! Because of the reviews of the shoes mentioning the straps sliding down sometimes I took a risk and ordered their LAST pair of 10.5 WIDE ...

I think that''s the best choice, because sometimes 11s are slightly too long, and my feet will slide foward in these and I''m probably mostly an 11 for width, where 10.5 Wides aren''t USUALLY avail for me .

But in THIS SHOE ... they WERE!

Hurray!!!

Now ... would you order a back up pair & return whichever one doesn''t work? The Natualizer Gazebos in blue or gold are just $29.99 ...

Ahhh ... I''m just so glad to HAVE SOMETHING on the way.

Here''s another view ''cause I''m psyched! Kinda Art Deco-ish, no??

And note that I''ve now labeled the file "decoshoe". We''ll see if that sticks when they come in! (Hopefully in time for the first dress fitting!)
