Since everyone was so helpful in giving me dress opinions maybe you could help me out on shoes...

I really LOVE these Manolos!. Bee* inspired me when I saw them on her thread. They were sold out everywhere (except for $900 pairs on Ebay, yikes!) After calling around to I finally found ONE pair left in my size. The store was closing, so the sales guy said he would hold them for me til tomorrow.

I haven''t picked out a dress yet. So the question is, do you think that these have a high likelihood of going with most dresses? If I wait, I''m afraid I won''t be able to get them. Thanks!

Oh, I attached a pic of one dress I am really liking so far and some possible considerations, just so you get an idea of my dress style.

Thanks to everyone in advance for your opinions!

Hey, don''t ask me, I picked up some wedding Manolos before I even picked up the fiance.

In all seriousness, the ones you''ve chosen are lovely and quite versatile. There probably would be some limitations; if you were thinking of having platinum or silver tones feature in your jewelry on our wedding day, they''d work exceedingly well. They''re better suited for evening receptions than informal daytime, however. And if you''d need to walk on either sand or turf, they''d sink and which could possibly result in damage to both themselves and the hem of your dress.

Of course, if they''re selling for $900 on ebay, you could always buy them now and sell them there if they don''t work with your eventual dress. My vote is to buy them!

I like your thinking! I am having a sunset wedding in hawaii, but it is at a hotel- Four Seasons or Kea Lani, and the wedding is not on a beach, it will be on the Pacific Terrace which I think has a stone pathway...
If not, we might have to do the Gazebo area for the sake of the shoes. I already told my fiance' I HAVE to have awesome wedding shoes.

Why the heck not? No one''s going to see them, probably, and if they do, they certainly won''t get a close enough look at them to see if they match perrrrrfectly. So if you can afford ''em and if you can walk in ''em, and if they''re going to make you feel like a bagillion bucks, then go for it.

Yeah go for it! You must be a size 8 hehe. That''s the only pair left I found and it''s the wrong size for me.

Anyways, I plan on probably getting a pair. I''ll either keep the white satin ones I''m getting or wait until silver comes back in again. They''re classics!

I LOVE the shoes and would under normal circumstances say BUY BUY BUY!

However, shoes have become the bane of my existence because my wedding is outdoors, on grass. I would sink like quicksand with those lovely Manolos.

As long as you have no desire to get married outside, I say DO IT. If there''s a chance, sadly, I say hold off.

Manolo''s go with everything by virtue of being Manolo''s.
Seriously, you are looking at dresses that aren''t too complicated so the details in the shies compliment them well.

That''s a really good point in my case. My wedding is outdoors. I probably should pass on the white satins....

Yes, something I would not have thought of. My wedding is outdoors. I found out the pacific terrace does not have a stone path. But the gazebo area for cake and champaigne does. I figure, at worst, I will by a pair of wedges for the grass ceremony and change immediately after for the cake/ champaigne in gazebo, and restaurant reception. Or maybe the grass won''t be mushy, because Maui gets very little rain. I wouldn''t even dare think of flat shoes, so I will find a way to make it all work out.

I personally love the shoes. If you love the shoes, you''ll still love them no matter what dress you get. And I really think that they''re versatile enough to work with just about any dress. So I honestly wouldn''t worry about it too much.

First, I love your taste in dresses - gorgeous options!

I say DEF get the shoes! Even if you don''t end up wearing them with the dress (which I think you can), they are fantastic shoes and you can always wear them for the rehearsal dinner :)

Ditto!

ohmygosh I''m on this other forum for shoes (that Bee''s on too!) and I found out they are still out there so I just ordered the silver pair in my size yay!! So YES GO FOR IT! I just did! woot!

Violet,

Congrats on your new Manolos! I really had a hard time finding this pair. Where did you end up finding yours?

And I AM DEFINETLY going to get mine, too!

Saks fifth avenue, south coast plaza, costa mesa, CA.

That''s where someone recommended I try and they had them in the 7.5 size I needed. Barney''s only had a size 8 left in Beverly Hills.

It''s weird because I thought I''d tried Saks. I guess you have to either have them check ALL their stores or call around.

Where did you find yours?

One of the Neiman Marcus stores in NJ. I called right when they were closing, so the sales guy supposedly is holding them until I call back tomorrow morning. He had better still have them when I call back, or I might have to pay him a nice "friendly" visit when I am on the East coast in June. LOL.

I LOVE those shoes. I say go for it...I think they would go with your style of dress for sure, whatever you choose!

You probably found them at the NM in Short Hills. Any problems, let me know. I can go pick them up for you...I only live about 20 mins from there...LOL!!!

I LOVE THESE. I think I'm going to look to get them in the red. The thing about them is even if you don't wear them for your wedding, you can wear them with any fancy event (or they would look great would a nice pair of jeans too).

Do you mind sharing the shoe forum you were talking about? I have to spend today calling around to see who has them!

PS-I was just in a wedding in Maui in December and it definitely was difficult to walk in heels on the grass...my cheap-o shoes got ruined so I wouldn't chance it with these.

Well I''m biased so I''d say that they''ll go with pretty much whichever dress you pick! I haven''t even looked at dresses yet but I knew that those shoes would be my wedding ones!!

That''s great that you found a pair violet!!

I think that they are definitely versatile. It''s an awesome pick!

I always buy shoes first and then go out and try to find an outfit to match the shoes

I think those shoes are great and very versitile. They absolutely go with the dresses you posted. One suggestion: get a white dress for these shoes, no ivory or off white colors. Oh and a second seggestion, they won''t go with a dress that is mostly lace.

Get them before they are gone. If you don''t wear them to the wedding, they''l look great with jeans.

Those shoes are so beautiful it won''t matter what your dress looks like!!
30.gif
. I''m waaaayyy beyond being able to stand up, let alone walk in shoes like that, but when I could....they''d have been mine in a heartbeat!!!

Does it get better than a wedding in Maui, wearing Manolos and marrying the best guy ever??

I know that those particular shoes were IMPOSSIBLE to find after that episode of SATC aired when Carrie''s silver monolos were stolen and she had to "register" for them to get them back. It''s possible that that particular pair is still demanding a premium baased on the episode.

I love them and I think they''d look great with many different styles of dresses--plus, you can wear them afterward!!

The site is actually the purse forum. http://forum.purseblog.com

I hear that other Neiman Marcus stores still have them.

Also for everyone buying them, are you aware that they can possibly run a half size too big? I haven''t tried them on but I''ve ordered them a half size smaller. It''s the risk you take!

Also I was told that the silver sedaraby has ALWAYS been popular and always sells out very quickly everytime they get them in. It''s just a classic shoe.

I ordered them this morning!
36.gif
I can't wait til Friday, when they are supposed to arrive!

VIOLET,

I know everyone keeps saying they run big, but I tried on the black pair at Neiman Marcus in Palo Alto yesterday, and 37's (my regular size) fit just fine. The sales guy on the phone even tried to convince me they run big, but I ordered the 37 anyways. I keep hearing that, so I hope the silver fits the same as the black ones. Good luck with yours!

...I would love to get the black ones too.

The rhinestones in the oval were set with prong edges instead of channel edges, if that makes any sense. YUM.

Thanks EVERYONE for the FAB feedback!

And Dani, that was so nice of you to offer to pick them up. LOL

You know I"m right next to Palo Alto I just haven''t had the time to go try on anything. And for some reason I kept thinking I had to go to SF to try them on.... I should just go by there and see how they fit! I''ll be getting a pair pretty quickly though so I guess I''ll find out soon enough.

Also what''s weird is the neiman marcus site says the line runs *small* and you should order half a size larger! That''s so strange.
