Show Me Your Blue Sapphire Rings: PS Addition

Fun thread! I’ll play! I have only one sapphire ring and she’s a color shifter, purple indoors or blue under natural light.

Took some photos this morning with the ring in my breakfast bowl of blueberries. It’s hard to get a good focus on the sapphire due to its rutile silk inclusions which gives the stone its sleepy look/fuzziness in photos:

That is an awesome photo of your spectacular ring, @Pinkmartini87 !!
I’m always taken aback by the beautiful cut and color of your sapphire!

Beautiful ring,@meely ! Looks like a special heirloom to be handed down to future generations. The color and setting design are so pretty!

Thank you, that’s so kind of you to say, my daughter has been promised it for her 21st so hopefully it will be enjoyed for many years to come.

Beautiful! Exactly what I pictured:)

I love Sapphires, all of yours are stunning. This is mine, no back story on it, but it wasn’t new when I bought it. It was originally all white gold, but after a mishap with it, and loosing a diamond, the whole ring, setting and band was redone in platinum. It is the one from my avatar. I have no specs for the sapphire, it’s inky dark which I love!! And about 12mm x 9mm, so substantial enough. There are 12 .10ct diamonds around it. I got it after the birth of my son, and it never comes off! It is worn doing pretty much everything. I love it.

Holy mackerel! Such a beautiful, diverse collection @cushioncutnut !! Love the deco style of several of them and your elongated cushion is gorgeous!

Thank you from one sapphire lover to another!

It's very pretty DiamondBaby! I'm glad you enjoy it so much.

various unheated blues, 3-5 ct, Madagascar and Sri Lanka

Can I get details on the oval on your pointer please? Measurements? I love the proportions of it!! (But I love all the rings posted here) lol

I'll play along. Mine is 4.88 ct 9.97x8.92x7.30 cut by Gene Flanigan. First I had it set in a 14k white gold setting with side traps. After a couple of years and a couple of small chips, I had CvB reset it. It's pretty, but I've never been completely happy with it. I envisioned bigger, more sparkly diamonds in the halo. It has been sized down and had sizing beads added to keep it from rolling on my finger.

What a difference a setting makes! The new version is spectacular.

The center stone was my MIL’s in England. She wore it for 50 year’s. I had to have it reset because the setting was looking sad. I wish it was a much lighter blue but it does show its colors in the sun. It is 4.76 unheated with .66 tcw G VS2 pears in platinum.

How lucky you are to have such a piece of history and can continue wearing it. Beautiful new setting!

and just scored that little bezel band from DK. It was a perfect match.

Indeed a perfect match to a stunning sapphire!

Here is mine,A6FAC779-8F48-46EA-8BCC-F1C080BC9380.jpeg it is not a spectacular stone like some on here but I enjoy wearing it! Sadly I no longer have the matching car :boohoo:

Beautiful color!
How did you get he Larry McCarren pinky finger, if I may ask?

I really love sapphires. I sold the oval 3 stone a couple of years ago to help fund another jewelry purchase but I still have the rest.

Wow, gorgeous blue collection!!

I'm refusing to follow this thread, since I have no sapphires of my own these days, and I am MAJORLY sulking!

Seriously tho - gorgeous, gorgeous gems, ladies! Those blues are beautiful enough to make a jewelry addict like myself WEEP.

Great thread.

(Ok, so I did read it....)

LOL, well then you need to get on that right away! So opal pendant with a halo or blue sapphire...........................why not both?

What faceting design is your rectangular octagon sapphire (4th pic down)? It’s gorgeous; I haven’t seen it before.!

@Inbloom thanks! The AGL cert calls it an octagonal modified mixed cut. It was one of the things, that drew me to that ring.

I finally had time to look through this whole thread! So many gorgeous rings! This was a great idea, @Catmom! Blue sapphire is my favorite colored gemstone, my birthstone and blue is my favorite color! I like sapphires in many colors, though!

I think I got my first "real" ring when I was maybe 10 or 12. It was yellow gold and had a floral head with a little blue sapphire in the middle! I think one of my daughters has it now. The next one was my 18th birthday present which I have but don't wear. Then I got a Princess Diana dark blue oval sapphire with diamond halo for around our 7th anniversary. My younger daughter loved that ring and now has it.

The pieces I currently have and potentially might wear occasionally are a Beaudry platinum setting with a small, round, Richard Homer concave cut sapphire, and a violet-blue emerald cut sapphire set in platinum by Caysie van Bebber. I'll also add my sapphire halo studs by Victor Canera. They are beautiful, but my only regret is that I didn't get larger sapphires for earrings.

I may get a really nice royal blue sapphire eventually (or a pair to make a three stone with a diamond center). My problem is I collect more than I wear!

I love your emerald cut sapphire and CvB setting, such a stunning combination, I remember the thread on this one as well, it is the definition of an heirloom piece!

I remember reading about your disappointment in the melee before, such a shame because your sapphire is so beautiful and the setting otherwise lovely. Could it be altered to accommodate bigger more sparkly stones perhaps?
